Zuri gave me an amazing massage, he really did have magical hands! However, this place charge you crazy amount of money while given you a very basic massage experience. I paid 100$ USD for a massage and hair treatment. Although the massage was good, there wasn’t any music, the room was tiny and I could hear people talking as well as motor bike passing outside. The hair treatment was a complete disappointment! I literally paid 45$ usd to get an “egg&honey” mixture on my hair.

I loved Mrembo, founded by Stefanie who is from the Netherlands she grew the beautiful spa with the community learning all the traditional ways. I booked a beauty workshop and facial which were both divine.Fatma taught me how they make incense, how to make sugar scrub and many other products. Tea flowed as did conversation. It really is a great place to come and spend time and speak to the therapists and Stefanie.One of the therapists is almost blind and one deaf, amazing body workers both of them but dont be offended if they dont respond to you.So many fabulous products to chose from and clothing all locally made. Not to be missed in Zanzibar and ask about other tours they help organise and would also highly recommend the guided tour to really understand Zanzibari culture.

This place is Extremely Overrated, seems nice and clean from the reception and the shop itself but it is a real disappointment after that.I got one of the 60 Min Massages with Scrubs for 55$.- You must must must negotiate and don’t just trust the Menu prices.- Extremely dirty sheets and dirty massage rooms.- Big windows that are not even closed well and people walking on the street can see you if they want to.- Super noisy and you cannot enjoy the massage.- Extremely dirty and old shower area.- Save your money cause for these prices you can get an amazing clean massage anywhere.

It was easy to get an appointment for the next day (massage). The shop is quite cute, the products seem to be good as well but a little bit on the pricy side. However, my friend and I found the woman at the desk to be a little bit too harsh and not too friendly. We both had the Mrembo massage (60 min), which we both enjoyed. It was very good. Nevertheless, the room could be more hygienic and more comfortable to really slow down. At the end, it was not possible to pay by card (as we were told) and we really had an issue to pay as they wanted us to get cash first. The personal got annoyed, so did we. I dont think that one wants this kind of stress after a massage. We cant really agree with the high rating being given to this place. The place is not bad by any means, but quite average and the prices are not too low.

Great products though slightly expensive. The shop is beautifully set up and everything is locally made. I but soaps here but they are not my favourite as the ones from the sea weed center. They are a close second thought. They do not give a resident price unlike some other places either.

The boutique is beautiful and the products very nice. I took one hour massage and the girl was great, I felt so relaxed afterwards. Prices of spa are cheaper than average and quality is very good.However, be ready, the place is around small streets and shops, so you can hear people while having your massage - thankfully there was music to focus on.

Went for a massage. I asked for a strong hand. I wasn’t satisfied with the effort. Massage was so-so. It was also not very clean. You are made to lie down on same cloth as others. There is no wash basin to wash hands

I was looking for a good massage & my hotel in Stonetown suggested Mrembo Spa.I had no clue how to get there, so asked a local to take me there.As you walk into this establishment you are greeted with smiles & its such a happy & upbeat place, loved it immediately.My appointment was made for a few days later because they were fully booked, now I know why.On the day of my appointment they sent a staff member to my hotel to come & escort me to Mrembo Spa.On arrival smiles & greetings once more.I was taken to my area to get ready by my male masseuse.As soon as the masseuse started I knew I was in exceptional hands. This male masseuse is the best I have ever had & I have lots of massages all over the world.This guys technique, mannerisms & powerful hands clenched the entire deal for me.What an exceptional experience, he was amasing as were the other staff.To management & staff thank you for a most enjoyable & most memorable experience, keep up the excellent service.Kind regardsFerdie Liebenberg

They give decent massage, knowledge is there on how and where to massage, just that never felt like a very good one...they are good not bad, but for price $40 full body dont know

I recently learnt how to make Udi (incense) at a really informative and fun workshop at Mrembo Spa. Mrembo is a beautiful, stylish spa in the heart of Stone Town. The staff and management are really helpful and knowledgeable and their products are natural. For an authentic experience I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thanks to all for really informative workshop.

My favourite Spa in Zanzibar. I come back here every time I am in Stone Town - from 10 years. Natural cosmetisc, great smell, professional and very nice staff. I recommend Mrembo Spa to every woman who would like to feel like suahili mrembo - beautiful woman.

Even a year later you find the same ladies working there which I find reassuring. Staff is friendly. Place is clean and scrubs and massages ade great. The right way to start a vacation, treat yourself and shake the stress off!

The atmosphere is simple, traditional but everything is elegant. The store offers a variety of original products with delicious scents (try spice oil, singo incense ...) which also make nice gifts. The strong point of the Spa is its staff. Staff happy in their work, this is well felt by the warm welcome they gave us. Deaf and blind staff are also employed which is to the credit of the spa manager with whom I was able to interact.The human seems to be at the heart of this project and thats why I encourage you to go there, its a rare mentality in this environment!It was a memorable experience for me (yet difficult in massage!) With the mrembo massage, powerful and effective. Taking into account your tastes and any pain is there.
