We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights in this hotel. You get fit with the stairs, beautiful terrace overlooking the sea, attentive service and friendly staff. Fresh simple breakfast buffet, with a special fresh delight from the chef daily. We also had a mouth watering dinner prepared by Chef Shav which was absolutely amazing! Would highly recommend this hotel. It is centrally located close to the promenade and the shops in Zanzibar.
Lovely place to stay with great staff. I had just the one evening meal which was great. The breakfast could be a lot better. Other than the fruit and dozen egg options, everything else is very tired looking. Pool us fine, but it sits within an atrium so you have to move around to catch the sun or not. Roof terrace is great though, and has beds!
It’s more of a 3 star hotel than 4.The reception staff are not friendly or helpful and seem very disorganised.Don’t stay in room 307. It’s right under the kitchen and you’ll hear cutlery falling and tables being moved late into the night and early in the morning. The bathroom shower is also broken. We asked to be moved and after mixed messages we finally got moved to another room. There was jack hammering construction going on this side. The wifi doesn’t work. The breakfast is ok but they won’t cater for dietary requirements so if you are vegan or gluten free good luck. The rooms and beds are fine and the location is great near the food market and ferry.I wouldn’t recommend staying here. We heard Tembo house is nice but it was sold out during our dates. Also if you like Indian food go to Harbour Kitchen which is 5 mins walk from this area.
I really like this hotel. The staff was friendly and nice and so was the hotel manager. The rooftop restaurant has some nice views of the city and ocean. The decor is quite pleasant. The only reason I didnt give it 5 star was because they had made no objection to my request for a late check out when I checked in but on the day, they literally gave me 10mins to vacate the room while I had a work call which I eventually had to cancel.
I walked in by chance but what a sotry this hotel is, it is the best kept secret in Stone Town! It is so beautiful, with spacious comfortable airconditioned rooms, pool on the first floor and my favourite - the rooftop area with the best view of the sunset and the promenade. But the soul of the place is Maureen- nothing is too much of an effort for her, she is incredible, with such care and attention to detail! She is truly passionate about her work. Seyyida hotel is my preferred stay in Stone Town.
Very nice hotel for exploring Stone town. Kind and helpful personnel. Recommended for a short stay.
Stayed one night. The room was ok. The outlets were three pong and couldn’t charge our phone. They said they would bring an adapter but that didn’t happen. The bed was comfortable. Restaurant in the roof is just nasty the menu is even appealing. Breakfast was ok filled up ok at least. The guys downstairs are nice and the cleaning ladies do a good job.
Staff were very friendly and the rooftop bar/restaurant is beautiful! The rooms however are very outdated and are not at all city view, but rather a view of a wall next door. I was on the first floor right above the noisy alleyway where I could hear everything. The food was also not great, and only two menu options were available due to there being fewer guests - not sure how that is my problem or why it should affect the quality of my stay.
If you stop in Zanzibar City for one or more nights, and want to get lost in the streets of Stone Town, perhaps there is no better place. The rooms are well-kept, clean with air conditioning and all the services you can expect from a high standard hotel. We chose a room on the first floor with a small balcony overlooking the entrance courtyard of the building. We arrived at lunchtime and headed to the top floor where there is a beautiful terrace and an excellent restaurant. We had lunch on the terrace with a refreshing sea breeze and a beautiful view. Excellent food, great service, dreamy and romantic location for couples. The swimming pool is very nice, small but not too much, and very relaxing, located on the first floor and usually not crowded by hotel guests who are often on city tour. Nearby, along Mizingani Rd and turning right at the Big Tree there is an open space where you can park your car easily. Upon checkout we were able to leave our bags to take another tour of the city before leaving. I can definitely recommend this hotel in the heart of Stone Town.
Very nice staff, very kind and helpful boss, but:No soda water, no Beer, no rum both two days of our stay. AC was very very noisy. There was no door to the toilet.
Beautiful hotel with an amazing rooftop view.Food was absolutely amazing and the staff extremely friendly.
This place was stellar. Fabulous location, lovely room with great amenities, and a cute little pool. Unfortunately the rooftop deck/restaurant was under renovations while we were there, which is a shame because Im sure when its finished, it will be a major highlight! The manager was also wonderful and very helpful with local information. Would definitely stay here again. It was a bit pricier than I would have liked, but I definitely wasnt disappointed in any aspect.
We had a great stay here. Great breakfast, the view from the restaurant is amazing, nice refreshing pool and friendly staff. The room was completely fine as well, the only small problem - wifi might be better in the common areas (pool, restaurant). But it didn’t really bother us.
Had the opportunity of staying here with a friend on the 4th and 5th of February 2021 and i was so impressed by this lovely hotel. The staff so friendly and helpful. I would totally recommend Seyyida to anyone looking for accommodation in Stone Town.
Overall a really nice hotel. I particularly liked the Arab meets Africa design, the bigger than average rooms and the roof top terrace. If youre looking for a hotel with personality this is the place to stay. There were only a few negatives which can be easily resolved - water pressure was lousy (in room 207), too much chlorine in the pool, and the internet was at times patchy and couldnt be reached in all areas of the property. The 5% credit card fee is exorbitant, but it seems to be the standard on the island. Shame though as the lovely staff lose out on more tip.
Great hotel! Convenient location, comfortable room, good breakfast. :)
Nice hotel, with great swimming pool on the first floor and restaurant on top floor. All staffs are so welcoming and will happily assist you in anything. Hospitality was on another level. It deserves more than a five star.
A spacious hotel in the heart of stone town near the port
Nice place, good views, good location and amazing people. We are very thankful. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness.
Amazing Hotel. Great facilites in Town. A must to stay. Very clean. Breakie could improve but in general. 8 out of 10. Good value for money too
Could not have asked for a better hotel! Beautiful view, stunning rooms, and amazing service. Everyone working here was so welcoming and so accommodating. A short walk to many local attractions too. Would highly recommended!
The hotel is a bit disappointing:1- It is not as nice as on the pictures:- the rooms décoration is not as harmonious. A strange mix of nice Zanzibarian pieces with colorful over the top items- the bathroom is aging and would need some maintenance- the room was big but on the corridor, so not much place for the living area- the view is the next door building - on the other hand the hotel is in center of Stonetown, so therefore hard to not be next to another building - it will just be nice to mention it.2- as for the service, few hiccups as well:- the manager does not give WiFi password on paper in order for her staff to not have access to it. She puts it on the phone and tells it to you as she puts it in - but then it does not work and of course you don’t remember it by then, so not very useful.- I called the reception to get something fixed in the room and no one ever came. The location is very good if you need to catch the ferry to Dar and well located in the town. Unfortunately it is over priced compared to other hotel of nicer standard I stayed in during my trip.
Had lunch at the rooftop restaurant, we were the only people there but the service was crazily slow, thankfully the food was good. They didnt have enough change when we paid in US dollars, so gave them a generous tip just to get out of there. The hotel itself looked really nice though and looks more than a 2 star which it is currently rated.
Very nice and clean room. Pool was also nice but it was in shadow most of the day, sunchairs were uncomfortable, and Water on the Pool was a bit cold. The restaurant was nice but they were lacking more than a half of foods in the menu. For example, they didnt have prawns.
Very very nice hotel. About 10minutes walk from the ferry terminal and close to a number of restaurants. The fact that the hotel is situated in the city of Stone Town gives visitors the full experience of living amongst the locals. The small alleys with stores and restaurants make it the ultimate African holiday experience.
The place looks much worse than on the pictures. Most of the rooms have no nice view but instead a view of the wall of the house just 2 metres next to the hotel. The staff, especially at the reception, is very rude and anpleasant.
Go to the restaurant, the food is amazing and a great view over the sea too!
The hotel is nice,it has nice Zanzibarian stuffs like tables, Chairs, and so on, that can bring back the image and the story of Zanzibar island. Also i like the rooftop restaurant, that has beauty sunset view since the hotel is so long compared to other buildings near by, but also since its near the ocean, its easy to have beautiful view of the main road thats very close to the ocean (stone town) thats coming from the old fort, passing forodhan garden (local fish market) up to marindi Azam fast ferries.
Nice hotel in the heart of Stonetown, good price, nice service. Their food is not great and its expensive. Nice view of the ocean from the rooftop restaurant.
Great place. Great hospitality. Caters to your needs. Had available services for all activities you would like to do
Spent 7 nights here and it was beautiful. The service was wonderful and the staff were very helpful. Proximity to a lot of the tourist points and airport was on point too.
Nice hotel locate in stone town close with beach
Its not worthy according to the price. The breakfast is like the breakfast of an hostel. The wifi in some room is horrible. It was my only deception in Zanzibars hotels
Very clean and comfortable rooms. The staff is also very friendly. Highly recommended.
Is good
Best services with great view of the Indian Ocean.
Great location, good food and very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely go back!
It is a beautiful and peaceful hotel to stay in stone town
I recommend this one, perfect location, rooftop gives the perfect view of the famous forodhani garden and the sea bordering Stonetown
Great place to stay, friendly staff, Nice room, right in the centre of Stonetown!
Great view, great staff, very nice stay

Good service
Its so worderful
Excellent experience
Great place
Great
Quite correct. Good cooking. Well located to move around the city. Good attention from the staff. Spacious rooms and bathroom. The furniture is old (not old) and that gives it a traditional, classic touch. The pool needs updating and is smaller than it appears in the photos. It has an attic with magnificent views. It is essential to go up and lie down on the beds they have there, and see the stars while having a beer. Quite recommended, in general.
Location close to the port, pretty swimming pool in a patio with lots of charm and a great Rooftop overlooking the seaAtypical room.Breakfast correct, menu for dinner really not good!
To be in a city like Stone Town is acceptable although I would not repeat. They are friendly. The bed is fine and it is clean. Lack of maintenance in the bathrooms. It is well located. Terrible breakfast. There is a piece of antenna on the roof that should radiate the entire terrace where meals and breakfasts are made. To spend a good night but not for more.
Very nice hotel, spacious and well-equipped room, good bedding, hearty and varied breakfast, ideally located in the heart of the city. Asante Sana!
Convenient location, nice rooms, but some of the rooms, and especially the bathrooms, are outdated, broken (both in the mountain and in the restaurant). The taps are all covered in lime and water splashes. Not acceptable for the stated hotel category.Reception is not very welcoming. Upon arrival, we were mistakenly given a category number below and then did not even apologize for the inconvenience. The room was eventually changed, but it was not ready (there were no towels, water, bed linen, etc., and the time was already after 16:30).Nice terrace with restaurant, delicious food, but the service is slow, it takes 20 minutes to bring a cocktail. Prices are European, more expensive than similar terraces in the city.Overall, its not bad if you find a price with a big discount. Not worth the full cost.
It is in a very good location: you can get everywhere comfortably, yet quiet calm. The restaurant is a bit expensive, but well worth it. Not to mention the sumptuous views as the restaurant is on the top terrace.
L’emplacement, la chambre magnifique la literie et la suberbe vue depuis le rooftop. Personnel tres sympatique Le coin piscine est un peu vieillissant
Very pretty. Very central. Very correct staff attention. In my case, the head of my bed faced the one in the other room and I could hear their conversation and the crying of the child (I did not understand them because I do not know Arabic). 😓😓
Very nice hotel with a great location. Large selection at breakfast. Very large rooms.
We had a beautiful room with a beautiful decoration and a lot of space, the hygiene is impeccable the swimming pool alsoBut the Spa is almost non-existent (massage service only) so dont expect a jacuzzi and hammam. We had breakfast with a great view of Stone Towne harbor!
Very good rooftop restaurant
Nice hotel with personality. Friendly staff. View of the magnificent restaurant.
A fabulous dinner and a beautiful view. Congratulations to the chef and to Kathy, the manager on how she runs this hotel / restaurantI also highly recommend it for a great happy hour on the terasa.
Nice hotel, the pool is beautiful, the people are very helpful and it is clean!Hearty breakfast served at the table.Slightly dark room but understandable given the city.
