We ordered chicken wings , and they served us the part of the wing that you break off cause there is only bones . It was really funny and had to return , they apologized but just say you don’t have any chicken wings then serve bones . Otherwise we ordered two rice dishes and they were ok . Would give them a second chance . The food was fresh that was served but taste was average . I saw some peopleOrder pasta maybe that was better. The restaurant closes at 12 am if you need some late night food . Cash only

We had a great lunch here. Stuffed calamari and a chicken burger were a win.Cold beers and ice for water.The barman was full of chat and such fun. I bet there is an awesome party scene at night.

There are 2 different menus here. When we chose the fresh juice, it was listed as 3000. 30 minutes later the same juice in the corrected menu costs 5000. huh

A very cool place to eat and drink. Just across the street from the water its a three story building. One the first floor (moja) you have a bar. On the second floor (mbili) there is a restaurant. On the 3rd floor (tatu) you have another bar. But this is the best on because you have a wonderful view of the water. The drink menu is average and the prices are what you would expect in a tourist area. But what youre really paying for is the view!

We visited Tatu every evening for a sundowner during our stay. Compared to the other bars along the ocean, Tatu offers an unpretentious, chill environment to watch the sunset. Happy Hour is 5pm - 7pm with local beers at 4,000 shillings.

Amazing views all day, but sunset is even better. Bar staff are super friendly and helped us learn a few Swahili words along the way. Best value on drinks in the area.

Excellent food at very affordable prices. I like the concept with several floors. In the evening we can dance on the top floor, it is the only place in town where alcoholic drinks are the cheapest. Majani the manager is very present, very attentive to his customers and the staff are welcoming and smiling. I recommend Tatu to have fun

Nice view but high prices

The bar is at the top (3rd floor ). To get there you have to go through a series of very steep flights of stairs, be VERY careful on your way down. The place is very lively after 2200hrs

Beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean. Cheap beer and decent food :) Can get a bit wierd during the night, but still a must see joint in Stone Town :)

When we came in we were ignored by the bartender. They just didnt talk to us or get our orders. During the happy hour, a second drink was just possible after going personally to the bartender and asking again for an other one (we already did 3 times before). After finishing the second drink the unfriendly bartender decided, that the happy hour time was already over at 18:45 and that she wouldnt do another for us.

Avoid for a late night spot. The stairs are dangerously steep, the place feels unstable so if there is an emergency of some sort, it would be very dangerous to try and exit this place. The men become more aggressive as the night grows late which will quickly ruin your night. If someone breaks a glass on the floor, no one comes to clean it up so you can get cut just walking around. The bouncers are rude and its confusing whether they really work at the bar or just pretending to be a bouncer.

Went into Tatu while Happy Hour (5-7pm). The barkeeper was absolutely unfriendly and ignored us when we wanted to order a second cocktail. In the end she just said that the happy hour would be finished now even if it was before 7 (6:45). Definitely a no-go

Only giving a 1 as I cant give a zero. Presented a bill for items we didnt order and then intimidated and threatened into paying. Vile behaviour in an otherwise wonderful town. Avoid here at all costs. I am shocked this goes on.

Tatu bar has great music and is a lovely place for one who feels like they want to have a crazy night of dance. Tourists usually leave their quiet rooms or hotels to find night life here. The challenge with Tatu is, the rest rooms are squeezed and not so well attended to. Finding Parking space is a nightmare. If you are tipsy, you might want to get someone to give support because the bar is located at the top floor with very steep stairs in the open.

Nice local bar with a good ocean view. Good food and open until late. Used to be one of my favourite places in Stone Town. Would recommend it for a couple of beers at sunset.

Good music and good vibes with decently priced drinks, BUT my phone was STOLEN here. Take care. There are lots of professional pickpockets and thieves so I recommend avoiding it.

Pathetic place..very few people and now I know why, the waiters lie to clients. Having gotten to the place during happy hour, we didnt get to pay happy hour rates.The place is also run down and the wings were really horrible despite being overpriced

Nice western bar showing all sports including rugby and football, although a tad on the small side. Well priced drinks.

It is ok to go there for a sunset and a glass of ice drink. There are more places like this around. Not expensive. Nice staff.

The 5,000/- fee for the third floor (Tatu) is really not worth it. There is a nice view but it does get packed and feels raunchy

If you thirsty for some beer and splendid wine... This is the place to be....... You can even watch soccer while quenching it on weekends
