Weve been there three weeks ago. At the moment just the restaurant is open officially. The feeling being there and the quality of the food are just wonderfull, the staff is extremely friendly and nice. Thanks so much for this great time!!!

Terrible experience - three stories when we arrived as to why we should pay more, hadnt paid enough or didnt reserve for the right number of people. We argued for 2 hours - where we finally agreed to pay more. The transfer boat was broken, covered in oil and leaked so that we couldnt wear comfortable running shoes to walk in town. We were so happy when our time in the house boat was done - the bathroom was beyond gross, toilet seat pinched each time you sat down, had to beg for water to be brought to shower. The town itself is amazing - lots of great experiences there...but wished wed skipped this establishment. Spend your time and money elsewhere.

Horrible customer service.The lodge is floating in the ocean. You will NEED to boat to get there. They provide free boat transport to and from the lodge but you will need to get a Tanzanian simcard and the correct number to call them to get you. This will not be apparent when you arrive. It is a close walk from the ferry from Dar.The lodge is 2 rooms on the top floor that are small and not very private. The lower floor is the bar and restaurant area. However, aside from the provided breakfast, any food needs to be placed hours in advanced even for a small menu.So you will be going to the mainland often.The other lodging they have is a separate floating house, but staying there entails the need to flag down the staff to boat you over to reception for breakfast or to be taken to the mainland.There is little communication between the owners/upper management and the staff on the boat, leading to confusion and miscommunication.The staff on the boat have a laid back attitude that translates into not handling requests in a timely manner.Also, if you are looking for a gentle rock to sleep, it will not last, due to early morning winds and traffic from the ferries.Overall, I would not stay again or recommend to a friend.

Floating house next to a beach of Stone Town. Beautiful sunset view, and most of the time, in the evening, you can admire the dolphin family that hangs out around there.

Its great to wake up in the bay and reach Stone Town by canoe. Er the food is very good (its also a small restaurant).You have to love super-basic comfort to appreciate its true value.A slight lack of maintenance is to be deplored and one of the captains, very sneaky, dragging insistently my companion, has a little spoiled the pleasure. Pity.
