We could write a long review describing the wonderful stay we had, but the simplest way to do it s just saying: the best hotel in the Island. Location, room (our suite was incredible!), services, food, staff and Daniela the manager: a combination of a unique high quality experience.

We got a very nice room with a big bathroom and a big bathtub. Very good breakfast and a small bar to chill out in after the day is over. Staff is very friendly and nice and very helpful.

Had a wonderful stay here. Staff was responsive to my emails, room was clean and beautiful. Walkable to all the major destinations in Stonetown and a 5 min walk from the Ferry. Food was good and staff wore masks in line with COVID-19 protocol. They can arrange tours at the hotel. Building has a beautiful rustic charm.

My stay was a sheer delight. The staff are so personable and ready to meet your every need. Management was available to welcome and endure I was having a great stay. I visited all of the rooms as my stay was during low season. Each room carried me back to Morocco or a dream stay with royalty. My only challenge was navigating the stairs. I really wanted to stay roof top - I was happy with the lower floor that I could easily navigate. I will not negate my desire for future stay. The location in the heart beat of Stone Town was my treat. People watching and close to local shopping, native life/culture and the beach - for those who may like!

Great hotel with wonderful staff. Amazing clothes washing service that was cheap, super quick, and great. Loved staying here, even if slightly further away from all the amenities, it was a very short walk and felt very safe

The fully restored hotel is very nice. My suite had a big bathtub, but it took the staff many round trips from the kitchen downstairs to fill it up with hot water. The beds are very decorative and noisy. The rooftop terries offers a great restaurant and a view over the city. I would definitely double check before paying these prices to know if they have hot water available right now. This might have been a one time flaw, but still...

The new owner of Zanzibar Palace, Daniela is such a wonderful host. With 9 unique exquisite styled rooms you cannot get a better feel for Stonetown than The Zanzibar Palace Hotel. Highly recommend it! And the food is unbelievable 😀👌

Great boutique hotel in the heart of Stone Town. Perfect hosts with a million recommendations to get you exploring. Comfortable and fully decked out rooms with views - stay on a higher floor - the stairs are good exercise. We stayed in Rosewood - all rooms named - perfect for two, not huge but more than enough. There will be some street noise occasionally but nothing bother about. Beats one of the bigger tourist trap hotels on the beach - youll walk past the dozens of tourists in them and thank god you stayed here - world class boutique hotelling.

Beautiful boutique hotel, with decor and furnishings fit for a sultan (or sultana!). Close enough to the seaside road that you have a good chance of finding it after getting lost in the mazes of Stone Town!!

Zanzibar Palace Hotel is a fantastic boutique Heritage Hotel in the middle of Stone Town. I chose it because of its heritage and boutique features and was very happy on both counts. We spent a lot of our time just walking around this area, exploring, getting lost and finding ourselves again. The room was fantastic - very comfortable bedding, excellent air conditioning (very welcome in the humidity and 38C temperature) and a huge bathroom (we took the family room)For a heritage property, I was amazed at the great condition that the hotel was in and how effective the air conditioning was (having lived in the UK and experienced many heritage houses in Europe, I know how hard it is to strike this balance)The rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff are amazing! Winnie, Idi and all the others. Always smiling and super happy to help.Daniela the owner / manager was very resourceful, helping us book our covid tests at the best possible location, advice on which ATMs to use, allowing us a slightly later checkout because we had to postpone the early morning dolphin trip to the day of our departure, since we had to do our covid tests the previous day etc.Beach towels were provided to us in a basket on the days that we requested them for visits to Kizimkazi to see the dolphins and Pingwe beach. The food is excellent - great omelettes, fresh bread and fresh fruit juice at breakfast were stand outs. We had one meal at the hotel and the chicken curry and chicken spring roll were phenomenal.Points to be Aware of before booking:It is a heritage property and the rooms begin on the first floor with the reception and dining area on the ground floor. The steps are quite steep - so anyone with mobility issues or knee and back problems need to be aware of this.Service for meals is slow - because it is only for in house guests - I would highly recommend that you pre-book your meal ahead of time, so the kitchen can be prepared.

Well.Great location.large room but curtain much too small therefore impossible to hide from common areas, Because of the large window that opens directly onto the stairs, be careful when getting out of the shower.Significant lack of natural light. And smell of Frying in the hotel from morning to night.

Beautiful, typical Zanzibari place. If you dont want a neutral hotel with no personality then take it youll love it. You have the impression that you are stepping back into the beginning of the 20th century. The staff is very friendly as well as the owner who gives advice.

This hotel worthy of an authentic Zanzibarian palace offers a true sultans life in the heart of Stone Town, 3 minutes from the seafront and the center of the city. I stayed there for 3 nights and I invite you to put your bags down in this superb establishment unlike any other (I recommend the Arabica Suite on the third floor with terrace and rooftop view). The service is excellent, the staff lovely and attentive, the Swahili cuisine of great finesse and the decor with Arab Indian and British inspiration is simply amazing. In short, staying here was a real delight :)

Very nice small hotel in tasteful Arabic style, authentic architectural substance, steep wooden staircase, old-fashioned door locks, atrium with fountain. Very friendly service and with an Italian hostess who really does everything to be helpful even with bigger problems.

Review №45

The hotel does not look good when you arrive from the outside, it is in the center of the city. The rooms have been tastefully decorated and raiffenement. Each room has its own decoration and a large private bath. It is possible to eat with a reservation. The service is attentive and very cheerful. Each room is air conditioned which allows not to die of hot. The hotel is pretty well soundproofed too (luckily by the way as most rooms face the street).

Warm and cozy atmosphere in an exceptional place. The rooms are comfortable, the staff attentive. The restaurant is a little expensive but the Swahili Experience menu is worth the detour!

Review №47

Very clean perfect in details that are very well kept and different from all the other hotels and I say this because I have been to many hotels in Zanzibar. In the center of ston town, perfect for visiting the city. The food is great the extraordinary staff very polite and helpful. They also make excellent massages. If you come to zanzibar you cannot not do at least two nights at the Palace and enjoy the rooms that are, to say the least, unique in the world and you can choose the type you like as they are all different and very special. In short, it is a gem of Zanzibar Town. Not to be missed

An oasis in the otherwise completely dilapidated and dirty Stone Town.Daniela at the front desk is always nice and endeavors to fulfill the wishes of the guests. Our organized tours were top. Our suite on the top floor had air conditioning, was very clean and well maintained and had a nice view. Conclusion: If you want to spend a few days in Stone Town and not on the backpacker level, this is perfectly in the middle of it.
