One of the worst hotels we have been to in Tanzania. way too expensive for the service, breakfast is nothing special, rooms are not beautiful at all

If you are looking for a budget room in Stone Town, Jambo Guest House is okay. For $15 or $20 you get a bed with fan and a/c, WiFi, shared toilet and hot shower, and a simple breakfast. Its fairly clean and quiet and not too many mosquitoes. Its not the grand viziers old residence but its okay for the money.

Its cheap and great hospitality but toilet being outside the room is challenge

Nice seafood pasta. Would have been even nicer with a glass of wine.

Ive stayed at Jambo Guesthouse on a few occasions. Always reliable and always good value for money. If your budget is limited and youre looking to explore Stonetown / the rest of Zanzibar this is ideal. There are far more luxurious spots in Stonetown but thing of this as somewhere that wont hurt your wallet.

This is a wonderful budget guesthouse serving a most delicious and filling breakfast to get you going. The staff is very kind and welcoming they always tend to your needs and help your visit be comfortable. The water is hot for nice showering after touring all day. and the air conditioning along with the ceilngfan is most welcome. A very quiet place no traffic, not many tourists come this way even though its only 2 minutes walk from one of the main roads where you can pick up a very economical and good nutritional lunch or dinner. You are only a 7 minute walk from the old fort and beach and to the night food stalls of Forodhani.If you want a comfortable safe quite and budget place, one night or even weeks like me! Then this is for you.

We stayed on the first floor in a room with shared bathroom. The room and bathroom were very clean and were taken care of very often during the day. In four days we had twice our linen changed. Breakfast was decent including fresh juice. All people working there were professional, something difficult to find in Zanzibar ( from My experience). I would definitely recommend Jambo Guesthouse for a stay in Stone town!

Good stay, clean rooms and bathroom. Hot shower. Fair price. Friendly staff. Good location in the centre of Stone Town. They organise transports with professional staff for good touristic prices.Breakfast is very basic with eggs, fruit, bread, jam and butter but this is standard here.

Good quality/price, free pickup from the airport if you stay 2 nights.you can also leave staff for some days if you want to go to another part of the island. Offers tours :spice tour, prison tour and so on. It has a nice place where to eat or have a juice just in front of. Breakfast is included.

The staff was fully at our disposal, and very kind with us. They even accept to bring us back to the airport by night, although they didnt have to. Rooms are correct, the breakfast is great !

Right in the heart of town and beautiful looking place. I stayed for 3 days during off season and I was the only one in my dorm. Washrooms and toilets work well. Although the place looks old fashion inside and out, it can use some updating from the inside.

Had quiet a bad experience ..... room was clean and good breakfast. Had ordered a taxi for my journey back to the airport and 2 taxi drivers has come from 2 different cie.....not very well organized, had to pay both taxi men ....they started to scream in front the hotel doors .....also asked for a receipt when you pay your bill at the check in .....they will ask you to pay again

Great value for price, convenient location and extremely friendly staff. They helped arrange transport for us from Stone town to Nungwi and back at a very fair price as well as a boat to prison island and back.Clean rooms and shower as well and a good breakfast. I Highly recommend it

Our stay was okay. The bed was nice and very big, the airco worked so that was nice and didnt made to much noise. There wasnt really a blanket. The floor was a bit sandy. Shower didnt have a good water pressure. We wanted to take a shuttle to jambiani, as said in the options of tours but then they told is its not really possible due to low season. They should not provide the option then.. next morning there was a shuttle available, they arranged a taxi for us for 40.000, good price. We checked the price multiple times and they confirmed. When we arrived in jambiani the driver told us he wanted more because thats what hes been told. We felt guilty towards the driver but also felt this wasnt our fault. breakfast was nice.

This is nice G/house, room is cleanes, price affordable, less noices, cool and mosquito net installed. No crocoaches, no bad smell..... Problem is shared toilet and bathroom. Well secured

Excellent conditions and due to the location you will get a complete immersion in the local pace of life. People are friendly not only within this hotel, they are like that everywhere.We had a small room with a shared shower and toilet. Ceiling fan, air conditioning worked well, good wi-fi.The breakfasts are the same, but it was always delicious. You will be brought a plate with three seasonal fruits: mango, banana, watermelon, pineapple, sometimes a slice of avocado. Tea or coffee, a glass of fresh juice, scrambled eggs.We stayed here for 4 nights, on the beach we agreed with one captain (his name is Rahim, an experienced sailor) and sailed with him daily to different islands, explored the center on foot, attended the Dhow countries music academy concert (it is held 3-4 times a week, $ 5 per person).We walked until 23:00, with phones in hand, as we walked on the map and no one attempted to assassinate us.The guys at the reception have a refrigerator with water, the price is the same as in the store.We ordered a taxi from them, it turned out $ 30 to Page. We also liked the driver Cosimoto, he advised us who to contact about the safari tour, not as expensive as everywhere else.

The manager is very nice and smiling, the breakfast is good, the rooms pleasant ... An excellent value for money. Only downside: the bathrooms are on the landing.In front of the Green Garden restaurant, which is very well signposted in the maze of Stone Town, so its very easy to get home.

Its quite cheap, has a good breakfast. Very well received, has ac, good internet. The sleeping / bathing conditions are not ideal.

Your advice is to put a toilet in each room and reduce the beds
