Nice hotel in stone town.cloae to the ferry and Forodhani market. They have a nice restaurant where i had .y dinner and the food was so tasty. Staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is very good and they really take take of their guests. Didnt try their swimming pool.

Very central, great position. Nice staff and nice furniture in rooms. A deeper clean in bathrooms would make it perfect. Nice pool and garden.

The Golden Tulip Stone town hotel had good Front office Staff who were friendly & helpful for our long 2 week stay. The standard Room was small, so we asked for a suite which was provided. The Restaurant food was good Indian Menu, but the breakfast was ordinary. We missed our Indian Morning cup of Chai which the local Tanzanian tea lacks.

I didnot like the place. We had booked 2room for 9.30 and arrived at 11 and were youhave to wait till 1or 1.30pm.Idonot how they work. We visited toilet at the reception, it was smelling badly. I never saw anybody cleaning,ussually that kind of hotel some should be always. We had to take our money back which was paid in advance.

Nice hotel in zanzibar stone town, Value for money.

The rooms were greatand the food was great. The shower only had about 3 minutes of hot water and the restaurant manager is on his phone all day, with the audio open so you are forced to losten to his conversations and the videos he watches

Over the years, this establishment has maintained good standards in Zanzibar. The rooms are clean, staff are attentive and caring, and the roof top restaurant serves up some delicious food. It is also close to the ferry.

More than what I expected. Comfortable beds, nice food, five star rooms and staff are very helpful and busy. Free WiFi, hot water available and security is of maximum level. I loved the rooftop dining where I could view the ferry and the ocean. Keep it up. I came for a quick study abroad seminar held by TASSAA in collaboration with Galgotias University, India.

If you are looking for a three star hotel in an interesting location this is the place. Make sure you request a third floor room facing the sea. You look over both the passenger/freight ferry and the container port which both provide much interesting viewing. The rooms are large and clean. Not everything works but the staff were very pleasant and eager to help. Breakfast was good and with a varied choice including local dishes.

Beautiful hotel. Food is amazing. Everyone is really nice. They do not sell alcohol here but you can buy it at the Best Western and bring it back. Avoid taking a right outside the hotel door. Go only to the left. The neighborhood changes for the worse when you take a right.

The accomodation was nothing special.I mean not bad but not really good.It was reasonable facility based on the price.On the other hand, staff were very helpful.They are always ready to help you if you have any question or trouble.

Rooms are beautiful. Just some minor maintenance in the washrooms.Its near Forodhani, a very good place to go at evenings and nights. Near the docking area where, all the movements to the islands youd want to visit start.

Old and outdated. Breakfast average, rooms average and bathrooms require attention. Hotel needs renovations. Parking is non-existing and a huge commotion outside the hotel entrance. Rooms not always thoroughly cleaned. Noisy aircon from surrounding room.Staff were, however, great and accomodating to our requests. Situated in a good location - close to the port and short walking distance to the centre of town.

If you are Russian this is the hotel for you since hotel policies only applies to others.Not beeing Russian I only got sorry excuses .Swim suits during dinner (upon asked the manager in duty explained that they do not have a dress code at the hotel), pool party until 12 pm (others werent allowed after 8 pm) etc.One of our booked rooms (Executive room)wasnt available up on arrival since some hotel manager had reserved it for other guests. Sadly we ourselfs had to point out that the room we were given, wasnt the kind we booked.During our stay (3 days) the elevator was out of order. The hotel is in 3 storeys with the restaurant on the 4th/roof.City center located.OK pool area, the hotel only has 12 towels so bring your own going to the pool.The gym is located outside the hotel area.The rooms, Executive as well as Deluxe, was spacious enough.The hotel management has responded to this and I might add that we got $32 refunded.

Nice boutique like hotel with accommodating staff. Clean rooms and nice pool area. They also have a very good rooftop restaurant which offers a good breakfast. Even better is their regular menu, which offers local foods, chinese and indian selections with great views of the city.

Not impressed with this hotel. Supposedly a 4 star but doesnt come close. Room was nice but the bathroom was of poor quality and very unappealing with the damp soap peeling off the sink paint. Our room had no glass in the windows so it was noisy at night with some mechanical noise. After a bad nights sleep youd hope breakfast would pick us back up but atlas that was riddled with uncovered food. The bread and pastry area and therefore loads of flies and completely melted butter as if wasnt chilled. This was rectified the day after but we didnt eat breakfast during our stay. Pool area was nice and handy to have to escape the city heat.

Not much too share as I did not stay rest in the hotel. It looks good and convenient from ferry as tourists want to be near stone town. It is not a recommendable choice. It is a known branded international standard hotels.

The hotel is conveniently located outside Stone Town but within easy walking distance. Traffic is generally chaotic in Zanzibar City and its no different outside the hotel which consistently of a very dusty, self appointed parking area doubling as a taxi rank. The hotel is clean with helpful staff and a conveniently located pool. At night it is very noisy with the local children playing in the narrow streets, cats fighting, music from adjacent hotels being heard, motor bikes revving etc.Touts consistently pushing for business outside of the hotel and all along the waterfront, becomes annoying.The restaurant is typically located on the roof of the hotel with a relatively nice view.

Hotel is great, clean rooms, very friendly staff.... One can easily walk to the beach from the hotel, views are Great especially from the roof top restaurant. Would definitely recommend to anyone thats looking to have one of the best experiences in Zanzibar.However be sure to get lunch and supper out of the hotel, restaurant menu doesnt offer much.

Staff was very friendly and let us check in early. Very close to the ferry terminal so if arriving from Dar es Salaam its a very short walk. Rooms are simple but more than adequate. Rooftop has an ok view (you see a lot of the shipping yard). Would stay again.

Hotel is well run with excellent & attentive staff. Its located near the port and conveniently within walking distance to the Historical Stone Town and the vegetable / fruit & fish market place. Their rooftop restaurant has a broad menu... but unfortunately many items are not available.

Worst Hotel service ever.Booked my room 20 days back. Called and confirmed booking 1 day before as well. But when I arrive receptionist tell me that since some other guest has extended thier stay so they can give me a room now.!No manager to speak to.

Golden tulip not serving alcohol. Poolside not operational without working shower. Furniture and fittings tired esp...ensuite with loose toilet seats. Felt low value for money.

This would have to be one of the worst hotels Ive ever stayed at. The room was nothing flash. They put 2 single beds together to make double bed then we noticed one doona was on the bed covered by a sheet so we didnt notice it until we had to get in. The bathroom needs updating as the shower leaks water all over the floor. There was no view!The breakfast was the worst we got there and there was hardly anything to eat, the fruit that was there was dry not fresh and there were bees all over the honey and fruit, it was disgusting not even clean. I would never recommend this place! Lucky we were there only 1 nght!!

Conveniently located within walking distance of the ferry terminal and major sites of Stone Town. Has a good view of the water from the roof top restaurant where the food served is edible. Room is decent, but bathroom could use some updating and re-grouting.

The staff are really friendly and I love the paintings all over walls..... rooms decently clean but opt for rooms that are away from the parking area as it cann get a little noisy with all the cars and scooters

Very nice experience. Nice rooftop restaurant with fair price. We had great time at the pool during the midday heat.

I highly recommend this place... Not far from the beach or stone town... Restaurants of your choice including the famous Mercury bar is at walkable distance... You can get boats to prison island or so from nearby as well... Rooms are well equipped and clean... Restaurant with a wide variety of cuisines... Dishes i ordered were amazing... Complimentary breakfast could have been better though...

The hotel is located approximately walking distance from Zanzibar port and the famous stone town.The historic places in stone town are all within walking distance.The hotel has a wonderful roof top restaurant with a wonderful dishes to choose from the menu.

Amazing views, good location big room, the staffs are friendly. just 5 minutes from hotel to Fred mercury restaurant, 6 minutes to mizingan hotel, 7 minutes to palace museum which is nearby forodhan garden.

Place is ok. but manager on duty promised to give us an upgrade n never stuck to her promise which was very dissappointing. restaurant staff r nice. after staying at the residence n park hyatt. golden tulip really needs to teach staff customer service.

Conveniently located, a walking distance from the ferry and at the heart of the busy stone town. One might get the wrong impression that the Golden Tulip Stone-town Boutique will not be sufficiently equipped to give the deserved hospitality. one cannot be more wrong.

Its good value for money hotel.Its in close proximity of Stone Town from one side and Forodhani gardens from the other.It has rooftop restaurant.The hotel keeps its standard, its clean, has modern shower and has fast wifi in all hotel including the rooms.Its very close to beach, but not right on the beach,which is actually advantage as you avoid the constant noise from cars and crowds, which is issue the beachfront hotels deals with in this area.If you looking for hotel , following international standards of its brand and came for exploring Stone Town,this is good option. Tip: you want about the busy street in front of main entrance of the hotel, go throughoutgate leading from the pool area right to the street which will lead you to centre of Stone Town.

Excellent views of the harbour and port , nice and breezy , the food is a tad bit expensive but the views make up for it, the taste is good but do ask for the chef at hand to recommend the speciality
