Loved it. The garden looks and feel like you are in a botanical garden. The private beach are great and the pool is magnificent. Abundance of food available and probably the best pasta I have eaten so far. The gym is also well equipped and the massages were great. Lots of daily activities too.

The food is okay, the cleaning is okay, the waiters are okay...BUT! THEY STEAL FROM YOU! I WAS ROBBED IN MY OWN ROOM! A cleaner have stolen my backpack with macbook, sunglasses and lots of other pricy stuff. No help was received from the administration, 2 years later no result from the investigation, they just don’t communicate with me. So when going to this hotel KEEP IN MIND YOU WILL BE ROBBED! And no adequate attention will be provided to your case.The room was 220.

Amazing hotel, beautiful beaches and I got the most relaxing massage. Overall, great experience!!! The service, however, was decent and often rude. We were told multiple times over that something was on sale and not part of our full board package and hesitation that we would not pay. I understand the challenges associated with paid drinks/services, but staff can be better trained to deliver that something needs to be paid for

Great hotel, wonderful garden, excellent conditions for water sports, wonderful beach. Rooms large, specious clean, cleaned twice a day. Very nice and friendly service. Super disco and live music. We spent a wonderful holiday at this hotel. I recommend the Diamonds la Gemma dell Est for all.

Amazing place, beach is heaven, everyone is so friendly, food is good and there is security guard on the beach ( One thing we worried about was being hasseled but it didnt happen). One negative the walls are very thin and the teenagers in the joining room have us awake late at night & early every morning, not ideal after a safari when you just want to catch up on sleep. Apart from this we are pleased and would recommend 😊❤️ thank you

Beautiful location/Terrible service.Stayed in early July of 2016Food is barely acceptable. Forget about ordering a drink from your lounge chair.... Youll be burnt to a crisp before / if it comes.We had to ask our wait staff numerous times for the basics. Rooms are acceptable, we had an ocean front ( they dont tell you that there is a 100 yard ledge). We paid for the all inclusive. They told us laundry was included but when we got our laundry done, there was a charge.For my American friends - similar to a nice South Beach or Hawaii location with fast food level service. Just be prepared.Note: Ive stayed at 5 star resorts all over the world. This place view and beach is 5 star. Service is 2 and the rooms is 3.

We came here for our honeymoon and were blown away by the beauty of the place.Every staff member we interacted with couldn’t do enough for us and they made our time there very special.The resort is stunning and the food, drinks especially the cocktails were brilliant. Really enjoyed the night with a traditional village meal and entertainment with African dancing.Great for a romantic getaway and definitely a 5* resort

Staff, multinational & local, 9/10. Very attentive and always ready to help.Rooms, 7/10 for the un-renovated ones and 9/10 for the recently renovated. All rooms are specious with good amenities and beautiful views.Location, garden & beach, 10/10Food and restaurants, 7/10. The hotel needs a strong head chef to manage all the restaurant on the resort and improve on menus and dining experience. You still have a lot of choices, but variety does not compensate for I can cook/arrange that dish better! feeling. Theres a lot of potential still left unlocked.I strongly recommend this hotel, the staffs willingness to assist will compensate for the few small shortcomings...

We really enjoyed our stay at La Gemma! The beach is amazing and the size of the resort is about right (not too big and not too small with enough choice of restaurants and bars for a couplw of nights there). The service was really good, everyone was helpful and polite. The food was delicious as well! The room was large, comfy and lovely decorated. We had our own private terrace.The staff are so nice that they make you feel like home:), they even allowed us to check out late (around 3pm) free of charge as our taxi arrived at 3:30 pm. We would have loved to stay longer with them and we really look forward to go back!

The beach and gardens are beautiful but it is a huge, old hotel aiming mass tourism which I personally don’t like at all. The rooms are old, smell bad and has very cheep quality. The hotel beach is crowded, beds and tables dirty, everything served in plastic . Breakfast and supper buffet is nice with a variety of choice but the beach bar serve pizza, burger, some salads and cheep drinks

Rooms a bit souless but clean and well appointed. Good views from the third level but the trade off is more steps, so be sure you are capable of getting around as most of the site is on a gradient. Good beach area and good food and drinks available. We went all inclusive which was a first for us. Friendly staff.

This is a fantastic hotel and resort for couples and families! The hotel has beautiful landscaping and a lovely layout. The beach is amazing! Crystal clear water and white sandy beaches. The sunset bar and lounge is in my opinion the best part of the hotel, and a cocktail whilst watching the sunset is a must!All the evening entertainment is really good, some of the best I ve experienced. All the staff are really friendly (well trained) and this creates a very friendly atmosphere between guests too. Deluxe rooms are decent, clean and spacious but need updating soon. Spa and massages are really good.Snorkelling and diving in the nearby tombatu island is incredible! Amazing corals.For anyone elderly, the only downside is the golf buggy service to get around the hotel is very poor. We were with our parents and this was the only complaint they had.Overall, this hotel is really great and I would recommend staying here in Zanzibar. Thank you to all the staff for their efforts during our stay.

I can not recommend this place. We wanted to make a reservation directly at the hotel but the security guard at the beach didnt let us in. We told him that we want to stay for 7 days but he said it is not possible to enter. He was really unfriendly and didnt provide help or assistance with our reservation. So we decided to spend our holidays in another resort nearby.

Had an amazing time here , travelled some of Africa , then ferry to zanzibar and ended it with 4 nights here all inclusive, great food , drinks and amazing service , one server mactreeda (if spelling is correct) she was amazing , I will come back again to this resort when I next go to Africa 😊

I visited this resort for 8 days and was completely dissatisfied with the way it is managed. I emailed prior to arrival to ask about what money is accepted in the resort. They said both USD and EUR, but didnt mention anything about not accepting bills issued prior to 2006.The staff is kind and willing to help but the management is aggressive and not willing to communicate. I asked to see a manager on the bills subject and they refused to step down from their offices and only responded through reception for 8 DAYS.Moreover, they have no real procedures for serving and addressing customers, they start serving one customer and if they are asked to do something by a superior they leave you with your request waiting, sometimes forever.Nice place, good people, but under terrible management.

I wasnt staying here, but became trapped on this part of the beach by the tides. When I asked for help, to find the road or a taxi the security guards touched me inappropriately, dragged me around and requested bribes if I wanted to leave through the property.. Ultimately, I had to swim to a different part of the beach where another lodges security guard ended up helping me.

My girlfriend and I just got back from this resort, and cant recommend it enough!For entertainment and for the best all inclusive we have ever been on! We have been on many all inclusive holidays but this was definitely the best.We had the suite room that is amazing, big bed, big shower and massive lounge.The mini bar in our room was well stocked with beer, soft drinks, and bottles of water which were all complimentary.The restaurants offered very good meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner.The main buffet restaurant had so much choice, there was always so many different options available to even the fussiest of eaters. There were plenty of staff on hand always cooking fresh food in front of you and re-stocking the buffet selections.All staff were amazing and made you feel welcome, from arriving at midnight to the time you go home. In all sectors were very friendly, professional and worked hard to keep the place clean and tidy.We also booked a massage in the relax area. Excellent!Massive Pool is always kept cleanThe Entertainment was fantastic with a new show every single evening and dancing after.The beach... just go and see...Basically I could go on and on about the positive parts of this village, as there were so many.I know we will definitely be going back again,The best Resort ever!

We recently stayed here for the last leg of our honeymoon and were blown away with not just the resort itself but their management team.They couldnt have done more to make our honeymoon as special as it was. Each manager knew our names and every time we bumped into them they were extremely helpful and always looking at what they can do to assist with anything we needed.The resort itself is stunning and we would highly recommend it for not just honeymooners but for anyone looking for a special holiday!

Huge hotel property on the beach with stylish garden and fountains. I only had a meeting there so I only visited a few surroundings of the venue. Overly beautiful, cozy and romantic.

Ive just come back and Id say it was amazing but terrible at the same time. Location and restaurant was very good infact staff was very helpful and quick in terms of taking dishes. Room and service: I have nothing kind to say because wifi wasnt good as I expect from a five star resort. My family and me didnt want to make a fuss with that but my sunglasses has been stolen from service cleaning women and they nearly tried to steal my moms bag. One day we ended up one day with just 1 towel per room. The strong point of room location is that it can keep you fit while youre moving around the resort.

I was shopping around for a hotel for my family who will be in town next week. Walked by the beach and asked for guidance to reception but was given a cold shoulder. Asked to be taken to the reception area but the security guard (who said his name was Jackson) said they are fully booked and are not accepting reservations for the rest of the year. He was extremely rude and told us if we wanted to talk to reception we had to go to the main entrance on the entire side of the building. We proceeded to the main gate and the security guard there looked at us and told us they had no available rooms even without asking what dates I intended to stay.I found it to be very racially discriminating and told the security guards so. Had it been a Caucasian guest, they would have immediately walked them to the reception area to get help. Im thoroughly disappointed in the customer service the security guards gave and how disrespectful they were to us. Not a hotel I would ever want to stay at again and if youre black/african, consider Zalu or somewhere else, not this place with very racist Africans.

Relaxing two week break om arrival pleasantly meet with a drink at reception and a golf buggy trip to our roomThe room was clean and well looked after the bed was comfortable and each night the bed was turned down with the mosquito net put around the bed....we had no problem with mosquitos but better be safe than sorryThe salt water pool was excellent with the staff cleaning everyday as well as sweeping the whole beach areaFood in the buffet restaurant was excellent always plenty of choice with chefs at the cooking stations preparing different dishes every nightBreakfast was superb my only gripe was the staff always seemed a little disorganised waiting for the omelette station to open every morningAfrican night is excellent really nice location set outside with lots of traditional dishes real highlight each weekEntertainment on the pier was good enjoyed the pool table cannot comment on the fish restaurant on the pier as my wife doesnt like fish!But other people said it was excellemtThe grounds of the hotel are set out on a hill they are beautiful but if you are little unsteady on your feet its a walk up hill with quite a few steps to the buffet restaurant they do have golf buggies but not always available when you want one......But the view from the top of the hotel absolutely stunningRecommend walking along the beach to the left if you are facing the sea 20 min stroll along the beach takes you to an amazing beach, local sellers and more hotels NOTE: KEEP AN EYE ON THE TIDES as you can get stuck on high tide!The beach staff look after you all day long I felt so lazy I came glued to my sun bed!! 100% service especially at the end of the day nothing better than a few beers relaxing watching the sun set!Overall relaxing two week stay Thank you

I think, this is the best 5* place on the island. On the Feb 2017 there are olny 4 good hotels: Diamonds, Gold, Hideaway and Royal. Hideaway has inconvenient beach, The Royal has lack of personal (too much guests) and Diamonds was really good experience. VERY convenient bar/pool/beach location. I was surprised about service. This is real 5* no doubts. Personal is extremely kind and professional. Thanks to all Diamonds team for a wonderful holiday.

Horrible service very poorly managed. This place takes the cake of one of the worst managed facilities. From the reception, dining staff to all the way up-to the management these guys are just lost and clueless. This place is a joke. We have 2 rooms booked, and our kids room, the AC is not working and these guys can’t seem to figure out what’s going on for the last 6 hours. Just coming up with lame excuses. What a nightmare.Addendum: After this post there was 360 degrees turnaround and all the staff suddenly became accommodating and super nice. Special mention to CHRISTOPHER the dinning In-charge he made sure we were well looked after. The air conditioning was fixed eventually after 24 hours. It was not perfect but tolerable.Overall the the grounds of the resort are pristine as well the beach. The dinning is run of the mill buffet. The flaws are in the management and the rooms seem to be quite old. The basics seem to lack. There were cockroaches roaming around in the roam and the mattresses are old with no firmness with springs poking and denying you a restful sleep.In my opinion need a management overhaul and rooms need to be upgraded. This resort overall doesn’t meet North American Standards.

Place is beautiful, service is however very variable; ranging from good and attentive to sufferable. Rooms were ok, not luxurious. Once they train staff adequately the place will improve considerably.

Nice place with a lot of things to do. It has a lot of problema too, the room door doesnt close correctly and that makes that the sun enters at 6:30AM. There is a lot of things, most of all only run few hours but the problem is that all this works slowly. Weve gone to the pizzeria a place were is necessary make a reservation and we stay for almost one hour and half to have for dishes and one of them was wrong. The housecleaning is a disaster we stay all the morning outsite the room to let her time to make the room and before lunch the room was not maked up, they only refill the minibar.

We have enjoyed a beautiful week full of relaxation. Beautiful beach, good service, amazing bars and restaurants in the resort. For a time with friends a great place!

This place is as romantic and emersive as they come. For couples this place is perfect. Excellent facilities, service is great with butler options that are the real deal. The hotel has a magnificient restaurant on the water just off the beach over the water which is unique and certainly worth a visit.!

Its a huge all inclusive resort with so many facilities; Tennis court, swiming pool, private beach, kayak & standing board, diving center, walking & jogging tracks ( get the map from the reception or it could be found inside the room) cafes & main restaurant, business centet, free wifi, entertainment shows & dj, but mos of all, your own butler.

Today we hired a tour to see the center of tanzani, we arrived at 4:00 p.m. asked if we could eat something that was included (since it is an all-inclusive). Not only did they offer us food that was bitten by other people, but for a pizza that was intact, they kept it in our face to avoid offering it!You know if you go on a trip then you have to pay for the food if you do not want it bitten.A very ugly gesture by the waitress (Jacqueline) and an ugly detail of the hotel that does not offer you a sandwich at least for free ...

Its a awesome beach in Front Office the hotel. But be careful of the starfishes, they also love this place. The beach Boys unterstand a simple noch thank you. The Personal is friendly and help you where ever you need it...

Beautiful bounty bar island hotel resort, with 5* facilities and the most wonderful white soft sandy beaches and breathtaking crystal clear sea water full of beautiful tropical fish.

Keep an eye on your money in the room and safe because the maids and butler steal us from the suitcase 2500€ from the closed villa while we was on the beach and also the waiter said that we arent the only ones.

Upgraded to ocean suite which was beautiful ..allinclusive good but the service was slow and painful ... having to ask over and over again for things.. food served intermittently pool bar ie ordered for 3 people all served 10 mins apart. Location beautiful...Complained only to be told did you tip by the manager ...!!!. at 4k for 3 people for 8 nights really !!!!

Excellent location, well manicured grounds and very clean. However penny pinching lets it down. Not all inclusive and overall a little disappointing - would hesitate to recommend as there is far better value out there.

Climbing,cultural tours and ballon safari in Serengeti with cherry on top the island of spice the Zanzibar.

Great resort. Ideal for couple get aways. They do cater for kids but most guests here enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.

Its 5 stars from the staff to all accomadations. Its not too expensive and the food is as good as it gets on the island. No chance of catching malaria on Zanibar is another plus.
