Soooooo good!Actually, I hadn’t expected this after having read the mixed reviews. The service was very friendly, very quick and the FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!!! I was going for the shrimp coconut curry but it was no longer available tonight so I took the fish coconut curry instead. It was king fish and tasted absolutely wonderful. The size of the serving was just right. I cannot recommend it enough 🤤🤤🤤

The best food in paje. Clean and delicious. Fresh seafoods. Staffs are really nice and easy to deal with. They delivered food to our hotel.

Tasty food with very nice owner who late in the night helped us to get our friend to hospital when she was feeling faint and weak, arranged taxi to the hotel from there and arranged for the food we then had no opportunity to eat anymore in the restaurant to be brought to our hotel. Thank you very much we are very grateful. Nice service even if little bit hard in English. The cook was very knowledgeable and kind also. Thank you all!

We selected this place because of Google..In the pictures its right next to the beach but in reality ITS NOT so take that in to consideration if you are picking it because of that...The owner/waiter was polite and friendlyThe food was good especially the fish burger!!When the food came unfortunately we had a swarm of flies on our table!!!It wasnt pleasant since we had to fight for our food...Dont get as wrong we know where we areA few is okay but Im telling you it was a swarm...Anyway thats why I rated 3 stars(location and flies)

Be aware that lecker lecker is located behind Villa Kiota, google maps shows the wrong location unfortunately.Its only 10min walk from mahali and its really worth the walk. The best food we had in paje for super fair price.Mr. Lecker Lecker really goes the extra mile, if something is not available he will try to get it if you are willing to wait for a bit. We wanted to try durian so he sent someone to get it for desert although its not on the menu even without extra charge.I would go there anytime again, highly recommended. Mosquito repellant is provided, restrooms are clean, food is fresh, juices are made by fresh local fruits upon request. I would even bring my children there and I am Swiss, so no worries in terms of cleanliness and food in general. Its not a tourist trap and really provides an amazing local experience at a cheap price. You definitely miss something if you dont visit Mr. Lecker Lecker during your stay

Absolutely delicious food. The more traditional dish (a type of chicken stew) with Chapati as well as the vegetable Pizza (with real cheese !) were incredible. The chefs are truly kings/queens of seasoning. The waitress was also very heartfelt and made us feel happy and comfortable. Perfect - thanks for the great experience.

I had there one of the best dishes on the island - fish in coconut curry souce. It was delicious. We tried to eat in a different place each time, but this one was so good we came back! Zanzibar Pizza with chicken was also great!

This restaurant deserves 5 star for the affordable prices and good food! Yet, the waiter was so rude and impolite I will not step foot there again! The hour waiting and the forgotten orders are not worth the cost of ruining your meal. This is Paje, Hakuna Matata everywhere else!

Being from Germany I can really say it is lecker lecker which means very delicious! Good service, nice seafood! One of the best places in Paje.

Very good restaurant if you like seafood. I tried octupus coconut curry and seafood pasta which were both delicious (and cost 15 000 tz). The curry was one of the best I have had, also recommended it to other people who agreed with me.You can also ask them to set up your table at the beach and pre-order the food (if you want it to be ready at 7:00pm, then tell them it to be ready at least 6:30pm).

Delicious food and the pricing is very good compared to some other restaurants near by. very friendly, only thing is you have to wait for your food a little while but thats in many places in Zanzibar. Would definitely recommend to others been there twice in the past 4 days.

A massive thank you to Mr Lecker, Ahmad and the all the other staff, youve been part of making our stay in Zanzibar absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious and always cooked fresh. In our 2 week stay we have visted plenty of times. We came with our 9 month old daughter and they catered for her needs and most times without even charging anything for her. Weve tried some of the fancy looking beach side places but you pay more for lesser quality. I highly recommend anyone visiting Paje to drop by for lunch or dinner.

Mr. Lecker Lecker resturant is a full local experience! Food is great, staff is friendly and Mr. Lecker is awesome. Get to know him and his story before you judge the place or before you decide to write a review. If you have complaints make sure sure to inform them about as you are helping them a lot and they will take notice of it. There are no words to describe the feeling of going to Mr. Lecker, you just have to experience it by yourself. An advice, just don’t get your hopes so high and act like miracles should happen over there. In the end it is still Africa. 😀

The best restaurant we went to in Paje. NOTE: The location on Google maps is wrong! It is behind the Fisherman restaurant and slightly off the beach.Do not let the aesthetic of the venue put you off, it has a rustic / beach shack vibe but the food and service is 10/10. By far the best meal we had in Paje and sadly we only found it on our last night or we would have gone again.Everything was fresh and the price very reasonable. There are fancier places to go to on the beach but the food is nowhere near as good.Something to bear in mind is everything on Zanzibar takes place in island time so things can take a little longer than you are used to but the service was quicker here than anywhere else we went.Highly recommend and will be coming back when we go back to Zanzibar!

We waited more then two hours and finally when the food came only two out of three got their food. The third person had to wait another 30 minutes. When she got her food it was tasteless and no sauce to the rice. The sauce came after another 15 minutes. We do not recommend this place.

It’s a local restaurant with a friendly atmosphere and lovely staff but unfortunately the seafood we ordered was gone bad. When we pointed staff’s attention to it, they didn’t know what to do so they just bought us the check with full price. 🤷‍♂️ Maybe it was just a unlucky day..

Great authentic restaurant with nice guys and tantalising food! Not expansive and the grilled fish (seafood plater) was fantastic. It has been relocated just behind the beach. But it is absolutely worth a visit!

Food was decent for the price paid.The host offered to take us to our next location as he asked us where we are going to next.We wanted to get a dalla-dalla but he made us a fair price so we went with him. When we got out (right in front of our hostel) he asked for more money than we agreed upon. I gave him the money he asked for as he didnt leave with the amount agreed upon, even gave him a tip.Cannot recommend this shady guy, this is an absolut No-Go.

The restaurant moved to the following location. The restaurant was amazing, the best we found on Zanzibar so far. The food is very delicious, big portions and great service. The restaurant is modest and local style, not overcrouwded by tourists.

Very nice, simple and friendly, in a shack, fresh fish and seafood. If the winds not too strong at night, wear your jumper and get your table right outside the shack so you can enjoy the stars while eating!

We had the best meal in Zanzibar here. The prawns and Pilau were great! Mr. Lecker Lecker was a great host and you can tell cares about his food and his customers.

Mr Lecker Lecker is the local chef and the owner of this restaurant. Unlike most of the places nearby he has no foreign investor and runs the business on his own. Against many obstacles, including burning his previous restaurant he doesn’t give up. He definitely knows how to cook, the food is great, everything is fresh and in the evening you can sit by the fire, in the middle of the beach! Great płace to be!

Comida boa e fresca em frente a hospedaria Villa Kiota. O horário se estende e vai além ao que vemos no Google, o que é ótimo. Polvo com batata frita vem bem servido, é o curry também é bastante agradável. Poderia ter mais pimenta. Atendimento muito bom e ambiente agradável.

A great place, nicely decorated with shells, comfortable and interesting chairs :) the hut is located near the beach, nice and smiling waiters, fresh and thick juices, mango juice a bit sour but delicious. We ordered Zanzibarska pizza with chips and salad and beef with chapati the portions were large and very delicious recommend. We didnt wait too long for juices - about 15 minutes, and for dishes - about 35 minutes. We will definitely come back there again :)

Do not be fooled by the general appearance, enter and order with confidence. The soups are delicious, the fish is fresh and the Mango juice is undiluted with water.

So with this restaurant you shouldnt be optically fooled. The food is very tasty and, above all, cheap and especially fresh and quick to prepare. Just go inside.

Very good fish soup. Tasty calamari. Surprisingly good food! Such an inconspicuous cottage and so much taste in it. This is another restaurant I visited in Paje and so far the best food here. I recommend.

Delicious fresh food. Loved the tomato soup with lemongrass flavor and white snapper (whole grilled fish). The interior of the cafe is ascetic with authentic touches - bull leather chairs, scarves as tablecloths, walls made of palm leaves.

Good Zanzibar pizza, fresh juices, friendly service.The fries are very greasy, ordinary pizza - I advise against it, very unpalatable (a roll with a little sauce and cheese).

Hippies, rastamans and other adherents of hakuna matata, who have set high ratings here, you can tell me a billion times that no one has Africa or Michelin stars here and like go for service to luxury hotels in Bora Bora, but here in Zanzibar there are a lot of coolest restaurants with normal service and food. And with prices no more than here.So:Firstly, this is just a lopsided hut for 5 tables. Full of flies, ragged tablecloths, ceiling fans cant keep up with the heat. Secondly, they cook for a really long time, straight LONG, more than an hour. Thirdly, it is not tasty. Deep-fried squid rings are as tough as if you were eating a generator belt. The curry sauce is the same as in the uncle bence jar. Pizza for 3 out of 5. The abundance of toppings draws out the stale cake.

Really delicious, fresh product ... We really enjoyed ourselves. The manager is too too nice! And the prices are more than affordable ... Very good address. I advise everyone to go there without hesitation.
