Great small boutique type of hotel! Authentic rooms& bungalows, very calm and relaxing atmosphere! Marafiki is located in quiet area of Matemwe with gorgeous white sand beach where you can avoid crowds of tourists and “beach boys”. They also have great variety of delicious breakfast &lunch &dinner served aesthetically (the best we had on Zanzibar)! And the most important- super polite, friendly and caring staff, who is ready to help you 24/7. Thanks to Marafiki team for our great time at the hotel!

Such a hidden gem! One of the nicest hotels I have stayed so far!The hotel is small and lovely. Its well designed and the 12 rooms in bungalow style are really nice and spacious. The beds are super comfortable.But the main success factor is their stuff. The stuff is super friendly and caring, very quick and attentive. From the manager to the mechanic.The whole hotel has a super cool vibe, its a really relaxing place. The rooms are impeccable clean.The breakfast is really, really good with fresh juices, fresh fruits and a lot of a la carte options.The beach is right in front, not the best for swimming but the water is crystal clear and the hotel offers free kayak to explore.There are no bars besides hotel bars around but some food local restaurants in walkable distance.Everything was smooth and we had the most relaxing time. I would highly recommend that hotel.

Marafiki beach hotel has superb food. Stunning views of the Indian Ocean.The Villa was beautiful, private patio and pool. Staff are friendly and helpful.Thank you Kasha for a wonderful day.

The place is simply amazing-peace & quiet, perfect to relax. The area is not very touristic, still looks like a pretty local place that we appreciated a lot. The restaurant is very good - great breakfast (especially avocado toast), dinners are extremly delicious (try avocado and tuna tartar). I recommend Marafiki to everyone who wants to rest, enjoy beautiful views & nice food.

I LOVED the Marafiki Hotel ! It was hands down the best hotel ever, we stayed 4 nights . The staff was super nice, Kasha and Michael super lovely ! They would make sure to ask us all the time if everything was ok,they even offered us some check out cocktails. The rooms were super clean all the time with fresh water. The food was immaculate ! If Im coming back to Zanzibar ,I will for sure come to this hotel specifically . Match made in heaven. Thank you xoxo

The best stay in Matemwe! Boutique hotel recently opened, with amazing staff and spacious rooms. You have aircon, fan and mosquito nets, your own balcony or patio with seating and food is well priced and delicious. The staff are always smiling and helping with anything you need. They have good wifi (around 4mbps line) and when we visited with only two other groups in the hotel we could do zoom calls with no problem! Will definitely be back.

Another place close to perfection. Another place where staff (Hi five Ali 😉) is wonderful, helpful, happy and hardworking. Hotel is also very private as bungalows, but a bit different - another marafiki place rated by me 11/10

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location, right on the beach! it is literally a picture-perfect stay, with an ocean view from your room and terrace, white sand underneeth your feet and palm trees all around :) the staff is very accomodating, for breakfast they are ready to prepare you anything you want, and for dinner they can arrange fish caught earlier that day in the ocean. overall, i would highly recommend to everyone!

Everything was perfect 👌A splendid view in an authentic room, full of charm and very clean! The staff are very warm and the chef cooks up delicious dishes for you ....By far the best hotel we have had on the island, a real crush.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, excellent cuisine. We liked the details like free chilled drinking water, 2 plates of fresh fruit and a bottle of water in the fridge on arrival. Before entering the room a container for washing sand from the feet, free late check out, amazing swimming pool, free bike rental and kayaks. Offer great massages, excellent breakfasts and fresh fruit drinks ... I definitely recommend!

The services are absolutely not up to the $200 per night: noise from the neighbors air conditioning, transparent curtains facing the sun which rises at 6 a.m., anemic air conditioning, and minimalist furniture: 3 hangers, a stool for the desk, bed 140 cm (the bedroom is 50m2 there is room for a king size bed). The shower joints are completely rusted.As soon as there are 2 other guests in the hotel, there is no hot water or wifi.Not to mention that there isnt even a sign to help you find the hotel if you are unfortunate enough to come on your own.The beach is certainly magnificent, but it is the same for all the hotels on the surrounding 10 km.Positive points: very good food, very friendly staff, excellent massage services.In short, to avoid unless you have 50% off!

The hotel is located right on the beach overlooking the ocean. Very nice hotel service. Breakfasts very tasty, contain eggs or pancakes, fresh fruit, juice and coffee / tea. Rooms large and spacious with a terrace and own sun loungers. A great place to rest in peace and quiet with a great beach.

Very good hotel, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The breakfast is insane and the dinner is sublime.

I got back a few days ago. A great place to relax, for people who do not like noise, loud music, crowds. Beautiful bungalows on the beach, overlooking the azure ocean. There is everything you need to rest. The staff was very nice and helpful. Delicious breakfasts are served by Chey -Czi bursting with humor. In addition to breakfast, freshly squeezed fruit juices and a fruit platter, such as mango, pineapple, watermelon, lychee and avocado. A white beach, very wide, not flooded with tides. Bicycles available, which can be used to cover several kilometers along the beach.A very successful holiday, I recommend it.
