It was good, but we had to wait very very long for a bottle of water and the rest of our drinks. The waiter forgot a lot of things we asked him. The food was okay.The live band is very nice!!

Great staff, very clean and tidy, you can go to the reef abd enjoy seeing sea stars different kind of fish. We had a very good DG Party by chriss .. well and highly recommend for a quite and relaxing holiday.

Chill atmosphere, beautifull lights, lovely place. Heady scent all over 🌿🤩😏 Great live concert during almost 2 hours, nzuri ! 🎶 However, the followings points arent great and impair our experience : prices, menu and waiter. 1) prices in USD that appear really high $$$$ for food and drinks (x2 or x3 in regard of the average) ! 2) Menu not clear and not really well organised : Light, Main and Seafood bbq. In fact, everything is mixed everywhere on 2 sheets and 1 board at the entrance : starters, burgers, salads, pasta, swalihi meals, seafood, grilled stuff, international food, etc.. Youll find meat and lamb burger in Seafood bbq.... Real mess ! In addition, there is a lack of transparency : light menu for exemple : 14 meals, 16 PRICES ! Nothing aligned. 5 or 9 $ for samosas ?! 😳 3) Biggest problem : our waiter, quiet impatient and not verry talkative, didnt know much about menus & drinks. For example, menu in hands, he didnt know himself about samosas price and asked his staff. I asked him questions about food (really poor answers, hard to make choice in such circumpstances...) then I asked about Springbok cocktail from their menu (peppermint liquer and amarula) and especially what was amarula... He was litterally laughing at me. He tried to show with his phone instead of giving explanation. He didnt find any picture... 😅 So he brought a bottle from the bar. It appeared to be a FRUIT cream. Thus, I ordererd it... Finally I got a 40ml shooter of Get27 and Baileys like a B52 shot 😓 (surely not a long drink !) Not really the best coktail of my life.. Neither the best coktail before a meal and for that kind of atmosphere. After that, I asked him to pick his favorite coktail for my second round. He answered that he was not a drinker... (but he knew Amarula as well...) Anyway, there, about food & drinks, your smartphone will be your best advisor (if you ask for WiFi before ordering). Bbq food was overcooked and dry (no way to cut it) but sides were fine. Fortunaltely, the music requires nothingelse to be appreciated! Music, the only tasty thing to get in Seles Bungalows. Peace ☯

I highly recommend Sele’s Bungalows to people who are looking for place to have some chill and fun at the gorgeous beach.Atmosphere of that place is great. Live music three or four times a week and great food and drinks everyday.Staff and management are very helpful and accommodating.

Que dire... after 1h you might have some one that come for your order, after 1h30 he will come to tell you that the meal you ordered is not available. 2h you get you drinks, 3h you get your food... and it is just ok, not good.The music was good, that why i gave 2 stars.Because the owner is there, watching and not acting, i was tempted to stick to 0 stars, but i believe in improvement ;)

We had a super nice room only a few steps away from the bar and restaurant. The pool is awesome and just around the beach. 🌴🌊Highly recommend the Seles Punch Cocktail 🍹Taxi drives were organized for 40$ from the airport. 🚕

We only visited the restaurant for one dinner as our friend recommended it for us. We are so glad we did so as we had probably the best food here during our visit in Zanzibar. The grilled fish and their coconut prawn curry are just out of this world. The drinks are great and cheap, the music is amazing and the decoration with their boat bar and lights are just cherry on the top. Please go and experience it yourself, you wont regret it!

We have been here at Seles Bungalows for a week now, and are really satisfied with the place. Beautiful scenery, lovely staff, service minded management, good food and a small and cute swimming pool. All in all it was a perfect place for us. Thank you for a great stay! 😃

Overall it was alright.My only advice is not having people smoking weed next to other customers while theyre eating.Not everybody smokes.Also would be nice not serving the same thing for breakfast everyday.Instead of having breakfast includedwithing the accomodation price,just remove it and make a breakfast menu.Pool party Dj seems like a waste of money.Just play some good music and that should be more than enough,with a better sound system of course.PS:The staff is awesome people.

Food at it’s best!I’ve been there for dinner and had a great experience. Lovely atmosphere, super friendly staff and the owner are very charming.Fresh ingredients, well cooked and served timely.I can definitely recommend it. It’s directly on the beach.We will be going again, for sure!

We went there for the restaurant recommended from the local guide we had.The food is really great and well presented , the taste is super good and the ingredients are truely fresh and perfectly cooked.We tried 5 dishes: fish curry, chicken curry, seafood platter , grilled octopus and Jumbo shrimps.The top dish i would say is the grilled octopus , super tasty and fresh ... their curry is also great served with chippata bread which makes the meal perfect.The hotel itself is basic as from what we have seen around.

We really enjoyed our stay at Seles. It’s the perfect place to relax and the food is fantastic! The staff are excellent and friendly. The place is clean. The beds are a little hard for our taste but pillows are very nice. The beach at Matemwe is beautiful and we enjoyed watching the local soccer games happening in the village by the hotel.

I went there around two weeks ago for 7 nights and it was fantastic Jeanette, Sele and all the stuff are extremely helpful, kind and offer a great service. Highly recommend staying there. The only downside for me was the air conditioning at night is either very cold or hot. Breakfast menu could be more versatile but the lunch and dinner recipes make up for that because all the meals I had were so tasty. Chilled vibes and great music at the bar! Thanks again for having me guys!

A very nice little place right at the beach in Matemwe. The food was great and the atmosphere in the restaurant too. They also have board games you can borrow. The only reason we cant give this 5 stars is because the room was extremely small and everything felt very crammed.

Gorgeous place, steps from the beach, food is delicious, rooms basic but clean and comfortable. Very comfortable bed, air con, powerful shower and reasonable price. The staff are on hand all day and super helpful - providing tours beautiful food and it is very homely. Absolutely lovely.

8 nights in this cozy little lodge with a good vibe. Friendly manager, service minded staff and the best food served to us in Matemwe. Looks just like in the pictures in google maps and I can add that its a nice place to stay for kiting with the ocean for yourself. Rooms are cleaned thoroughly daily, the whole area is a green oase which is very inviting and fresh. Thank you for having us, Janet and crew!

I liked this place very much. The room was clean maybe a little bit small but the shower the best we have had in Tansania!The restaurant is probably the best in town the service as always pretty slow but super kind and it was worth waiting 1 hour for dinner.You feel home at this place and I really enjoyed reading at the nice small pool. I would go there again and can recommend this place.

I went to Seles Bungalows several times not for stay but for the food,I had different dishes in the restaurant but the onei enjoyed most was theSea food platter (Ill post the pictures later), never ever miss it. But I suggest you order it in advance as it takes around 45 minutes to be cooked with love. You may order the dish and go for a walk in the pearl colour beach, by the time you are back, your delicious dish is ready. Yummy

Good spot and nice atmosphere, very lay back and nice staff. Food is no cheaper than the restaurants in better resorts. Shop around and go try better hotels, for an extra 2-3$ you’ll find better food.

Quiet and intimate place right on the beach. The AC in our room was a bit noisy, but it worked well. The food was terrific. The rooms arent on the beach, but are a short walk through the bar area.

Just went in the restaurant and can say that food is really good, go there blindly, you will not be disappointed. Staff is also really kind.

Top location, beach 5 meters away, magnificent tropical garden.Black spots: dilapidated rooms, non-existent bathroom equipment, and the pompom .... bar prices, meals and especially EXORBITATING excursions. To visit the island and go out, go out on the beach, full of locals offering you everything there is to do on the island for cheap and negotiable !!!!

A cool place with atmosphere and music .. we only entered a meal that was delicious and respectable dishes excellent cocktails we did not see the rooms and did not sleep in the place so we had an opinion about the accommodation ..

Good atmosphere because of the live music, but unfortunately the food was so spicy that you could hardly eat it and the cocktails werent good (PinaColada tasted extremely rancid).

One of the few places where you can order alcoholic cocktails. $ 8 for a mahito is expensive, of course, but there is little choice and competition so far. As for the quality of the drink, a lot of lime is put in and the taste of the cocktail is crumpled. In general, nothing special. The price and quality does not correspond to reality, only the interior of the restaurant pulls out 🤷

Unfortunately, our room is not nice, and parts of the installation are not sufficient.The lighting too little, no closet or any other possibility to take the clothes out of the suitcase, the faucet just drips. The staff is nice and helpful.

They did not live in a bungalow, I will say for a restaurant. Delicious octopus and tuna. Large fresh mango juices. Expensive, gave 67 thousand shillings for two ($ 30), but worth it. Recommend. We waited 40-45 minutes, which is normal for Zanzi.

An unexpected base for the two lost backpackers that we were. Looking for a place to spend the night after stealing our phone a few hours earlier, we knocked on the door of the hotel. The welcome was warm and the kind manager offered us a personalized solution for accommodation and allowed us to enjoy this splendid place, its comfort and its magnificent garden. The staff are really friendly, the restaurant is excellent, the bar offers well-made cocktails for a reasonable price. A great experience.
