We arrived to the property and they told us that there were no room for us, the owner didnt show up and they transferred us to another property where they tried to charge us double of the original price. Worst experience ever, unprofessional and rude italian owner that makes overbooking on purpose because she has a bussines with other properties to get them clients for double price.

After 100% of the payment for the stay was withdrawn from the bank card, the hotel began to cancel the reservation and ask us to re-pay for our room. I had to contact the hotel and prove my payment . The day before arrival, the hotel sent a notification that our paid room is occupied and may be available for us tomorrow!( if you have already paid in advance for your stay!!!)When we arrived at the hotel we were told that the hotel was full and we could not be checked in!!! At the same time, our Deluxe rooms with a veranda were really busy with people! Then we ourselves went to the first room we came across and took it, refusing to vacate it. The hotel sells your reserved rooms to other people, and you are provided with rooms of the lowest category! At the same time, when asked to return the difference in accommodation, the hostess of the hotel waves her hands and simply says: Relax! Akuna Matata! This is Africa!Deluxe villas, the name of which is indicated in the booking, are not available at the hotel.- these are ordinary rooms with a shared veranda overlooking the sea. It is not necessary to overpay for them - the hostess settles in them at her own discretion. There are only two of them in the hotel.Breakfasts are scarce. There was only egg white in the omelet, no yolks. Several times there was no tea for breakfast. Natural coffee is only available for money. A bottle of water in the hotel is three times more expensive than in the store next to the hotel.Opposite the hotel is the marina of ships. A nice wide beach to the right of the hotel - it is a 2-minute walk on the sand.Local people hang out near the hotel all the time. Since the hotel is extreme on the beach and local people live nearby. Past the sun beds on which you lie-will go local and stare at you.

The place is very nice and the staff is lovely. They will do everything they can to help you. It is not as comfortable as a four star hôtel but it is really worth the price. Much more authentic that many resorts and big hostels on Kendwa Beach.

+Welcome food was really nice.Breakfast was ok (fruits and chapatis)Big, clean room with ventilator and mosquito nets.Cleaning every day.Nice view.400m from a beautiful beach.Safe area!Nice host, took us to a dalla dalla for our next destination.-Very poor wifi situation (didnt reach the rooms and in the public spaces it wasnt on not all the time, but always has to be requested). Very annoying in the year 2018.Lots of hassle with the payment. It was either cash or PayPal. Since there are no atms on the island except for the ones in stone town just  locals stores that charge you 10%, we tried PayPal. That didnt work out either and caused a big chaos (luckily we speak Italian, otherwise it would have been far more complicated). In the end we had to pay the 10% for the local shop and had to deal with the paying situation on every day of our stay. The massai is nice and helpful but does not speak a lot of English or Italian. The waiter was always in a good mood and always helpful but a bit pushy at times. The beds were rather uncomfortable.

I spent 2 nights at this property last February, with my family. Our flight was postponed and so we were lucky enough to meet Manola, super manager of the Royal Palm! Really nice and welcoming person, he cooked us the best carbonara ever eaten, not even in Trastevere. And to say that we are for local cuisine when we travel. The rooms are clean and nice, the location is a few hundred meters to reach the beach. The value for money is really excellent.Around the Resort there are many places to have lunch. The beach and the sea of Kendwa and its surroundings are a must see in Zanzibar. You can take long walks and admire a super crystalline sea of an intense blue. Too bad the small jellyfish that fill with pinches, in the middle of a swim and the slightly insistent beach boys, like everywhere on the island. We recommend the boat ride to better admire the surroundings, although you can easily walk up to Nungwi.

The hotel consists of 2 houses in two floors. We had a big Nemer, but all the rooms were without amenities. We did not get enough sleep. There is no mosquito net because of this, we were all very bitten. The beds are short, so your legs will hang down and your back will hurt. The hotel turns off electricity every day. Toilets and water work on an electric pump, so when they turned off the electricity from 14:00 to 23:00 for two days, there was no toilet and cold water in the rooms. Wi-fi is very weak and turn on whenever they want, for several days we were without the Internet. The managers are deceiving that they can’t do anything, although when we weren’t able to wash ourselves off the sea in the evening and left the reception, they went and turned on the generator, they also turn it on when guests come to them. The managers are rude, cursed and fought with customers. At the hotel, apart from one man, no one speaks English.Breakfast is plentiful and consists of bread: toasts spread with jam, toasts in the middle with scrambled eggs, buttered cake with cream, a plate of fruit.I do not recommend this hotel because for many years of our travels this is the worst hotel we have ever been to.

Nice place although basic, run by an Italian lady Manola kind and extremely available. The rooms have everything you need and maid service daily. Breakfast is good and plentiful. It is not directly on the beach but with a walk of about 7 minutes you reach the beautiful Kendwa beach. You can enjoy the private beach of the hotel Palumbo. We had dinner one night from them, but if you want to do is best to first ask why it is usually a service not always available but should go to eat at the fisherman restaurant not far where you have a menu and the price is certainly cheaper.
