Very nice resort and at nice white sandy beach.Very good Hilton Diamond Member recognition from the staff.Leah (Guest Relations Manager) is a really treasure for the hotel! Perfect service at all.The Fisherman restaurant is very good. Only the waiting time for meals is a little bit long.Rooms are very nice and clean.I can recommend this hotel for everyone (also families with children).

Firstly the road which is last 5-6 km patch is really horrible, cannot blame the hotel but that is how Nungwi is.Secondly the hotel is overly priced for a 4 star property. The interiors were quite worn out, but covered with a bit of rusty looks. When you use toilets in both public and within rooms you can feel the property is not well maintained.We were offered a partial Ocean view for the price of Oceanic view room. The pictures on Agoda were misleading with the hotel showing the best room but that’s hardly a few rooms where you get the same feel. It was changed after a strong request and 1 hour of wait.Pool was mostly crowded, beach is not completely private so you get a lot of locals vendors on the beach trying their tricks to get business from you. Can’t look for complete peace on the beach.Food options for both Breakfast and Dinner buffets were very good. Esp the dinner with live music was amazing.Official Check in time was quite late 4 pm, though they arrange the room once you reach the hotel before time. But on phone the hotel manager was quite rude and unaccommodating.Be prepared for frequent power cuts, though the hotel has generators and sometimes it may take a few minutes to restore the electricity.It’s better to have some private taxi number because the concierge is quite expensive.Best experience was to try some restaurants nearby the hotel if you walk along the beach to both sides.

Its a four-star hotel. The service is great, with special compliments to Leah and the restaurant chef, that can make incredible indian food on demand. For breakfast, get the omelete with lots of cheese and you cant go wrong. Also, the beach structure of the hotel is probably one of the bests in Nungwi. The rooms are big, but the furniture is not new. The bathroom doesnt have a shower box, which makes it very wet. Overall, the service is awesome and everyone is very kind; the beach structure is also great, but dont expect much from the rooms. If you look for a fancy experience, thats not the case, but if you want a sympathetic staff, great beach service, and lots of drinks, thats the hotel for you! Id definitely go back there!

Nice bar. We just went there for drinks to the sunset bar. The bar staff is really friendly and chatty. Drinks are tasty and prices are good.

Fantastic hotel. Great location on a not so busy part of Nungwi beach. Within 2 min walk from the beach to the busy section and market areas. Excellent food at their restaurant. Great pool bar. Super friendly staff. Has the rustic beach villa vibe without the commercial hotel chain feel. Rooms were comfortable and well serviced. If you want variety for dinner 2 min walk down the beach and you have a host of different restaurants to pick from.

I stayed at the property for 4 nights in December 2021. It is a property that I want to come back...the views, the vibe, the quality, create an holistic excellent experience that is perfect to relax and also enjoy the local taste of Zanzibar. Food is great, and would recommend anyone to upgrade to the all inclusive package.

Great location, amazing accommodation, friendly staff. Perfect spot in Nungwi, slightly away of the busy area but easy to move around and enjoy the surroundings.Village is just next door and safe to explore.Private beach, high tide is impressive here.Beautiful garden.Breakfast is perfect. several restaurants around as alternative for lunch and dinner to enjoy local dishes and leave the resort.Great walks on beach on both directions: South Towards busy Nungwi/Kengwa, North/East for wild beach, little tourists and authentic experience.

Recently stayed 7 nights and the service was excellent! Staff were super friendly and constantly making sure we were comfortable and helping out with anything we required.Buffet dinners were fantastic. All nights there was a different menu with various cuisines.Breakfast buffet was also well organised and delicious.Pool / beach staff were always checking on us in case we required any food or drinks - greatly appreciated.Felt very safe and secure around the beach area as well.I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody and I will definitely return one day back here again. 😄

An awesome experience. An average sized resort with all facilities you need. Check-in at 10 am was smooth and fast with welcoming cold drink and hot cookie. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Upgraded from Garden View to Pool View at no additional cost. The views are breathtaking. The room was clean but the furniture is a bit outdated. The Fishermans Grill restaurant is nicely located with an excellent menu. Beware the food quantity is too big 😁. I highly recommend this place for future stays!!

We booked 3 nights in the Hotel. The Hotel has nice staff member and all in all its okay. Hotel and Restaurant a little overpriced and could be renovated soon an.The beauty salon is a rip-off!!!! They are two arabian men telling what they do and when you have the appointment they do the short/cheap version out of it and try to charge you more. They gave me the price in USD (with apparently discount) but at the end he wanted Euros which was never agreed and not a common currency to pay in Tanzania. Very disappointed about the beauty salon and i could not recommend it.

Had a very good experience at the Doubletree Zanzibar. Location is definitely far from the airport and Stone town, so if you want to get around you should either plan to stay at the resort, prepare to pay for taxis or rent a car.The food and staff were fantastic. I found my bed to be extremely comfortable. The room/bathroom is a bit dated but definitely high end in terms of what Zanzibar offers. I arranged a Covid test on my own but the staff were willing to print my results and some airline documents so I didnt have to rely on wifi. Would definitely stay here again next time I visit Zanzibar.

We havent stayed at DoubleTree but we visited it often on our way to Kendwa beach, because of the great food and cocktails. Great place with friendly staff.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, and right in the historic district of Arusha. Nearby there are plenty of restaurants and markets for shopping. The hotel restaurant is very delicious and makes great wood fire pizza as well. The only gripe was that the dining room/lower bar area are open to the outdoor gardens so there were tons of mosquitos biting us while we were trying to enjoy our meal, which dampened the experience. I would suggest some mosquito candles, lamps or nets by the open windows. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable.

Amazing hotel with such incredible and friendly staff, everyone was so happy and attentive. Food choice was excellent with a different variety everyday. Only negative thing to say is the beach isn’t that good with lots of disturbing salesman but other then that I’d recommend staying here😊

The best holiday stay I have ever had. This resort is truly something special. ALL the staff are just amazing. With a special shout out to Xena, Emmanuel Robert and Halima for making the stay even better!!!! If you want to spend time in paradise visit Zanzibar, and if you want to spend time in paradise feeling like a million bucks, spend time at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Nungwi.

We had a great 5 night stay at the hotel. The staff really are the highlight of the resort, every person is friendly, welcoming and helpful.The resort in general is very nice, beautifully landscaped and kept clean and tidy. There is direct access onto a beautiful beach, white sands and crystal waters.There are guys walking the beach trying to sell you things but they are friendly and listen when you say you’re not interested, the hotel also has guards that make sure no one approaches the sun beds etc.The main restaurant is buffet style, open for breakfast , lunch and dinner. The choices are varied including live cooking stations.We had a small issue with our room on arrival, but the team and Zena the Guest Services Manager sorted it straight away without any hesitations.The rooms are traditional style and well appointed with all the key amenities you need including AC and daily replenishment of large bottles of water.Special thanks to the staff again for making our stay so great: Glory, Zena, Emmanuel,Ibrahim, Muchampo, James, Mussa +more I’m sure I’ve missed.

5 stars for the staff, they make this resort. 3 stars for the food, big variety but the seafood and meat is very overcooked, great if you like it well done, not so great if you like it on the medium side. 3 stars for the drinks, super pricey for the quality. 5 stars for entertainment, such a pity its not a nightly event, it really created so much ambiance. Expect to pay around 80usd for a massage, but also expect the spa staff to recruit on the beach and pool area as they dont get enough clientele for that price. 5 stars for the pool and views. TV didnt work (grainy), not an issue as TV is hardly needed but it shows to a lack of attention to detail. Also note that covid testing is 120usd at hotel or a 1 and a half hour drive to the nearest clinic. All in all lovely. But unfortunately I would recommend other resorts instead.

Like many others said, great location, very nice pool & pool bar, excellent food and absolutely excellent staff overall (specifically the one from the pool bar and the beach bar, many thanks to Nestory for all the information and the sea food & vegetables pizza :) also thanks to Pascal we had some excellent alcoholic & non-alcoholic cocktails).As I write this review I would definitely recommend this hotel.Another really nice plus is the activities that can be booked with the help of Diddy, a local tour guide that has an office within the hotel area (the one with the big skydiving stickers)All in all, an excellent island and vibe, pole pole :)

Staff is very nice, room are big and clean. We liked the location where the beach is less crowded. Breakfest selection is quite ok, You can choose from eggs and susages to fresh fruits. In general great experience.

Spent the weekend here with my wife and I have to say they exceeded our expectations. The service from our first point of contact Andrew to the welcome we received upon arrival from the outstanding and ever present Leah who was fantastic and customized our room and made sure we had everything we needed including a pleasant surprise.. The entire team is personable, engaging and absolutely a joy to be around. Special mention to the pool team the always smiling Halima, engaging Samwel, Nesto, Ibrahim and the dining room Machano, James and the guys that prepared my Americano..to all i say thank you for making our stay memorable and well definitely be back.. apologies for not mentioning everyone..but special thanks to Anna and the team that assisted us with some technical issues to Gloria and Mloja who saw us off at check out.. overall facility is great.. offering a huge swimming pool, spacious and clean rooms with beach and pool views..the beach area has adequate seating and the dinner and breakfast buffet had a wide variety of food. The fish fillet that comes with the fish and chips by the pool bar was my favorite as it was fresh and packed with flavor.. highly recommend this establishment whenever you are in Zanzibar!!

Wonderful hotel with lovely staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The hotel is well equipped but not perfect. It gives a very good zanzibar experience and for the price it is absolutely worth it. The food is good and the views are to die for.

Loved our stay here! All-inclusive package with limitless drinks & snacks at the bars, a vast array of food options, and very attentive and friendly staff! Just got back on the 21st Nov we stayed a week all staff from gardener to cleaners to waiters front desk the service was just fantastic. Hats off to the manager and all staff thank you for making our stay fantastic

Selling a room mere meters away from the noise of staff quarter and laundry machine is scamming. Problem fixed after 4 visits to the reception so 2 stars instead of 1.

We stayed at another hotel with a better view but limited amenities. However we bought the day package here and enjoyed an all-inclusive day of drinks and food and swim on confortable safe chairs. Best deal around Nungwi at 60$ pp.

Im having a 4 day vacation and till now my experience has been absolutely marvellous. The staff is very friendly and easy to interact with. You get to know more about the culture and languages just by having a very nice conversations with them. They provide best services from food to helping you in lost and found helps.

I have booked 2 rooms in the Hotel. The rooms is quite old and need maintenance in everything. The shower was broken in one of the rooms and the maintenance team failed to fix it after 2 hours waiting for them. The phones are working properly and the internet connection is always not stable. Back side of my room there a labor staff rest house. They are gathering there and there voices are so loud. The Hotel is measurable. The management didn’t think to offer me a suite or any thing make you feel that they wants to retain me or gives you any feelings that they are respect you as a customer.My experience is really bad. I don’t advise any body to Book in this Hotel . It doesn’t deserve even to be 3 stars Hotel !!!

Beautiful cosy place in Zanzibar with friendly staff. I just have two issues, the sea is not clean or encouraging for a swim, and some Natives might make you feel uncomfortable by staring at you or following you to sell what they have by nagging, and some of the staff treat cats and crows badly and scare them away in an inhumane manner.

If I could mark a 3.5 I would. The staff and resort amenities were great. Our room, and particularly an extremely uncomfortable bed, fell far short. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

First of all, it goes without saying that the staff here have made our stay very exceptional! They were all extremely friendly, helpful, and heartwarming. Shoutout to Leah, Omar, Glory, Mo, Halima, Benson, Ibrahim, Ali, Ally, Samwel, and everyone whose name we couldn’t remember! Thank you for making our stay memorable.The location of this resort was great, we didn’t have to go to other beaches to enjoy the open ocean.The room size was comfortable for our 5-day stay, it was spacious and suitable for two.My friend and I both felt that the resort is a tad small, and it lacked activities at night. During our 5-day stay, there was only one live show during dinner.

A total package ! From the time we arrived till we left we were treated like family. Zena, James and Muhammad were really nice and very hospitable. Mussa the chef made great food !Overall a great experience !!!

The reception especially manager and deputy manager are so arrogant, by the way Egyptian guy, cause they don’t allow outside guests even get through their yard, never think you could go and say hello to your friends easily, when issue was happened although he kept saying to you “I can help you out” without even a fake smile, but their voice sounds completely the other around. I don’t recommend to waste your money to stay in this so-called 5-star hotel, by contrast, other 4-star hotel nearby even far better with natural views surrounding.

Between her and Zena, they ensured our stay remained 5* and helped us with any queries we had.Emmanuel and Ibrahim from the Zee bar were fantastic. I’m not the one to usually write negative reviews but we truly had the worst time at this property.The property is nice, location is great but the staff at the reception were horrible. We stayed there for 4 nights and had to get our covid test done. The staff at the reception were not responsive, after multiple follow ups they gave us some wrong information which led to a very stressful situation. They asked to go fill out a form online, even after reaching out to them they did not try to help us as we did not know certain information that had to be filled out. We were asked to wait in our room between 11 to 12 and that the doctor would come to our room to collect samples for covid test. After 2.5 hours of waiting we were still told to wait for the doctor but when we checked at the reception the doctor had already left. They gave us all the wrong information. The manager and the team blamed us for their mistake, not once did they apologise for their mistake. The staff made faces every time we passed by which was extremely immature and unprofessional. The manager did not even try to help. The team later asked us to pay $50 dollars for a cab ride to go get tested at a local center. Leading us to pay for their mess up. We understand mistakes happen but the way the team dealt with the situation and how hostile they were really ruined our holiday there. This is the only place in all of Tanzania that we went to where people were not helpful. We had a great experience in every property that we stayed there except this place. Would not recommend cause it’s the people who make or break your holiday and the people here form our experience were not one bit warm and not one bit helpful.

Mohamad Aboulela helped us with check in and check out. He was amazing and responded to all my requests accurately and efficiently! Please, it would not be the same user-friendly resort environment without him. Also to the two guys that practiced boxing down by the pool. Please take it elsewhere like to the beach sands. It isnt pleasant to watch people hit each other even if it is practice boxing.Thanks

My wife and I stayed here for a week for a short getaway. We were shocked at the journey to the hotel as the roads were very very poor and not tarred. I was very apprehensive about the hotel. But that ended there, the hotel is good but in need of some maintenance. The lawns can do with some cutting as well to enhance the overall beauty of the property. Our room was large and comfortable and had to endure a night of the lights tripping off but maintenance quickly sorted that out. The pool and beach is just great and a wonderful place to relax and recharge and this was just what we needed from the holiday. The meals were good and the buffet could be disheartening on certain days. The staff however are ever willing to hear your specific dietary needs and will go out of their way to assist you. On our arrival we were concerned about the meals being halaal. A pleasant discussion with the manager on duty Anna put our minds at ease. She was reassuring, kind and empathetic and was also an encyclopedia of knowledge of zanzibar and the area around the hotel. Overall the staff were just great. This is not your normal kind of hotel you would find in first world countries but it is every bit value for money and comfortable and a great place to rest. The beach is also lovely and lovely to relax and unwind. I will definitely come back

We had the absolute best stay at the Doubletree. The room and sheets were clean, we had beautiful flower arrangements on them every morning after it was cleaned. The rooms are spacious and the bed extremely comfortable! The staff was AMAZINGLY friendly and helpful. They constantly asked if we were having a good time and if they could help with anything. The beach is beautiful with turquoise water. The bars are very nice. Pool os clean and lovely. We were very happy with the food, especially lunch, when you can order from the restaurant menu. We had different fish dish everyday and it was all spectacular!Overall we had the best stay at the resort and would recommend it to anyone visiting Zanzibar. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one

Very nice resort on the best beach in Zanzibar. Rooms were fine. Nothing spectacular, nothing to really complain about other than a drain that was clogged when we got in. The food was great and the sunsets are spectacular.

Sorry to say this and its true our guide come to ask for information about we come to stay also talking about business safari in your hotel but one of the security refuse. I asked for your office no one let hem in and the another security told him because hes black cant enter in your hotel we fill very bad honestly.We didnt expect things like this.

We arrived at the resort late evening, and the front desk had everthing organized for us before we arrived and the bookin process was very fast. The resort is amazing. The food quality of high standard and the variaty was great. One never become bored of having same meals every day. Every day the menu was changed.Our room was Ocean facing and on the top floor. The views from our room was amazing. That first morning we woke to daybreak and seing the ocean scene, was like paradise. Miscito nets are provided for the beds and the rooms are cleaned to a high standard every day and 2 bottles of water is given, together with replenishing the tea and coffee for the room.The facilaties are clean and of high standard. the staff are always around to cater for the guests needs. They are all very friendly and respectfull. management are always visable and often interact with guests to ask if you need anything. Theres also 24hr security guards on the beach , and they keep the locals from entering between the guests on the hotels premises. The whole resort is very safe.Our transfers has been handled great and the hotels help with covid information and printing of travels forms after covid tests was also great.Visiting the areas outside the resort is a must. Seeing the turtle sanctuary, the spice tour and a must is Stone Town visits. The island are very rich with its heritage, spices and fruits.This was a amazing holiday for 15 nights and my wife and myself did not only feel as guests at the resort, but part of their friends. This made it extra special. The staff is amazing. There is not a single bad thing I could say about the resort or their staff.

Staff are absolutely incredible and so friendly, rooms and view are amazing! Location is also great. But sadly the food was a let down , there is no entertainment and the pool was closed or being maintained most of the time we were there.

We were in this fantastic hotel for our honey moon ❤️. Since we went back I am desperately looking for the band who sang on the 25 of February 2020. It was our best night there. Please do you have their name ? I think it was something like coconut band . I searched everywhere on Google I didnt found nothing !

Great location, relaxing and comfortable environment, good food and facilities, and exceptional staff.

I feel like I stayed at a different hotel from all these other folks who reviewed this hotel. This was one of four hotels we stayed at in Tanzania and it was honestly the worst as far as accommodations. The staff was very friendly and pleasant and tried their best but it was obvious that they could only do so much. Although the rooms are relatively large, they are dated. The property is badly in need of a PIP (if Hilton has not already requested one that hasnt been implemented yet). The rooms have moldy wood paneling, we had sheets and towels that looked like they saw better days in the 80s, ad the mosquito meshing around the bed was clearly not made for those old beds. The mattresses were worn and moldy and the food at the resort tasted as old as everything else appeared. Although it was all inclusive we had one meal at the resort and then decided it was better to pay for food outside. The food tasted as old as the rooms. I really wish I had better news to report but this was truly the worst hotel we stayed at in Tanzania.

The beaches right outside your room are beautiful & in the morning the water recedes & you can walk further into the ocean where the water is just puddles. The staff is great. The grounds & activities are nice.

I traveled to Zanzibar and lost my phone i Stonetown. I was almost out of money and had to leave my other hotel.I got directed to the Doubletree Resort & Fishermans Grill and got the full service of a booked guest even thou i just came to leave my luggage in the reception for storage they treated me with the full respect of a staying guest.They let me use there Internet so i could contact friends back home and sort my problems out in Style & Comfort.I can only give them 5 stars but my recommendation goes to 11Thank you DoubleTree Resort & Fishermans Grill :-)

Beautiful resort and beautiful rooms. The beach is quite nice as well. When we were there the water was a little rough but Im not sure if that was due to season or that part of the island. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. You have an option for all inclusive which is worth it if youre planning on spending most of your time at the resort. The pool water is at perfect temperature to keep cool in the heat. They have live bad in the evenings thats also very entertaining. You can dine while listening to the band or sit on the beach lounge. Oh forgot one of the best parts... you get greeted with an absolutely delicious warm cookie. What can I say, cookies are the way to my heart.

This was my first time Tanzania/Zanzibar but definitely not the last one.

It was nice to stay there. The location is good. Its just next to the beach which is so beautiful and good to enjoy sunset. The breakfast was not outstanding but it was ok. The staff are kind and friendly. The room and cleaning service were good. The swimming pool is bit small considering the size of hotel and the water was not clean since there is a bar which is crowded during the happy hour. I was so happy with fishermans grill. They have lots of options and the quality of food was really good. It was almost double price comparing other restaurants but the portion was huge.

By far the nicest place I stayed in all of Tanzania. Very gracious hosts and amazing rooms. The grounds of the resort was amazing. Also the breakfast had a wide array of food. When I walked up to the hotel with my bags from the beach I looked so poor the security guard almost tackled me and asked me if I had a reservation. Also, they have really good security.

Rather we tried to be nice and hang out with the staffs. Some staffs showed their kindness only to the guests just next to us, which seems it shouldnt had been the conversation matters.

We typically don’t stay at all inclusive resorts. However, the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The drinks were great. The food was average. The staff was very friendly. Nungwi itself is charmingly rustic. The locals are very friendly. The sunsets are breathtaking.

I didn’t stay here but in the hotel next door ( although I wish I had) Most of the hotels have views, beachfront and pools. However the difference here is the service the food and the staff. I made use of the wonderful happy hour which saw the sunset and the wonderful food menu. However the biggest comment I wanted to make was for Diana who served me on all the nights I was there. She was very professional, quick and gave excellent service. Five stars from me

Must eat place at fisherman restaurant! The hotel is really nice with vibrant and living atmosphere! The pool is big to enjoy and have fun with family! Staff always professional and serving with smile and kindness! Beautiful view on indian ocean, romantic and inspiring!

Staff was very friendly and ensured our stay was great and that we had everything we needed. We spent 3nights here and they went they extra mile to organise a special dinner for my spouse and I who were on honeymoon. The only downfall was the toilets. There was always a foul smell coming from the bathroom and I had read the same review from a customer a year back. Otherwise its generally a nice place. Oh and make sure you sample the food from fishermans grill which was soooo good.!!

Brilliant location. Loved the sunsets. My room was excellent and the food delicious. Can’t say how much I enjoyed it here. Incredibly relaxing and picturesque.There are a few shops and things nearby to purchase souvenirs. Would have liked a little more choice but it was okay.

Great resort on a wonderful beach on northern end of Zanzibar. Facility very well done and staff was very attentive and intent on making your stay wonderful. Very well managed facility in a somewhat primitive area that adds to the charm and all around fun cultural experience outside the resort. Able to stay in resort if you choose and not experience the beach scene or village scene but why would you not want to experience the Zanzibar culture and life style? The standard rooms are good but recommend the 4 room unit bungalows on the beach. Note that the resort beach is narrow and bounded by a sea wall due to the location and level of high tides. Easy walk to a much broader beach either way off resort.Food was very good with a great selection of local dishes, veg, and fruits. Fresh food every meal. Fruit was spectacular. Will definitely look to stay here again when in Zanzibar.

This is the perfect beach resort for couples, families, and groups of friends. The rooms are large and the beds very comfortable. The resort is beautifully designed, no area is left untouched. You can do all-inclusive (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks) for $60 a person per day. The breakfast and lunch were fantastic (buffet style with a huge variety food and juices) and the dinner was ok (we were hoping for more fish dishes). We vacationed here during Ramadan, and most surrounding restaurants were closed until sunset. The staff are incredibly pleasant and always asking how your stay is. The pool is fantastic and has a pool bar! The beach lounge chairs and umbrellas were perfect. We loved our stay and would recommend to everyone! A side note: the town is very small and there is nothing to do in the actual town. The roads are very bad in the town.

The first and the most was staff. People were very friendly and tried to help with any request. Guys on reception performed every our request (changed the room, provided with additional cover, prolonged our stay and included free lunch because we missed one on arrival). The location is good as well. The meal was variable and tasty. The room was cleaned every day and towels were replaced too. The great thing was no insects in the room.There are some things to improve.The facilities are not very new and require some improvement. The staff was fixing all we requested but that would be great to have all working by default.

This is Vumilia,I was with my two friends.We really enjoyed our stay at Double Tree Resort by Hilton.Everything went as organized and even more...Thank you Florenzo Kirambata for assisting with the bookings and everything.They have very friendly n professional staff, all of them, from room service, bar (especially Samwel @the pool bar, he is fantastic.We were all so surprised by how they called all the guests by their names n recalls the room number all the time....Everyone was good. The food, the night live band on Sunday, everything was fantastic. I was with my 2 friends, Emma n Happy, I think they will have the same comments.Keep it up there........👍👍👍

A nice beach front resort with great sunset facing views, but with just a little more effort the place could be magic.We were on bed and breakfast package, but shocked to hear that cappuccino was extra charge at breakfast. Dont nickel and dime me, just charge an extra couple of dollars on room rate! Also the breakfast hardly changed in the 6 days we were there and became very boring.Different evening themes in the main restaurant, but dinner buffet was overpriced for the quality. Much better to take a walk down the beach to some other dinner spots.Resort did feel very safe though, with lots of staff around all the time so fine to go for a swim and leave your stuff on the beach beds.Good option, but nothing spectacular.Probably wouldnt return.

Excellent location, right on nungwi beach. The road leading to the hotel is very rough in parts, but is currently being renovated by the Chinese - it will be complete in two years. We stayed all inclusive - great choice of food and drinks. Plenty of bars and restaurants around if choosing a different board basis. Staff are outstanding and cater to your every need. I would not hesitate recommending this hotel to other!! Enjoy!

Best short vacation so far. Staff were friendly and supportive to all request, beautiful location, friendly locals at the beach who want to make your stay happier. Loved the site seen, spice village, stone town, prison island, swimming with turtles, safari trip at national park and enjoyed the weather as well as the food was tasty.

Beach front, nice food. staff need to be little more polite - then it will become one of the most delighted place in Nungwi

Visiting here from Washington, D.C. everything is great.The entire staff is wonderful from Monica the manager, James Joseph, Nassan, Agnus and so many others. These ppl. are top notch!!! If I come back it will be because of them and others...

This is the best place to stay in all of Zanzibar. The All inclusive package is well worth it. Friendly staff and awesome service. Food is wonderful and they serve Coke in bottles! This is a plastic free island. Malaria zone, carry sprays and rub-ons for the evening. Humid conditions. Carry sunblock.Rooms are wonderfully comfortable and cool.

Do not be alarmed by road which leads to the hotel. Behind the gate, it is really nice hotel. Everybody is extra polite (sometimes it might be even annoying when you are asked how are you or is everything okay by literally every hotel staff member you walk by).Rooms are very good with nice and thematic furniture. Some parts need repairs and renovation, though. Additional bed had really hard mattresses.Menu at bars was a little bit confusing and you could get some drinks for free with all-inclusive even though, they were not listed as part of all-inclusive. Otherwise, you will not regret getting all-inclusive - there is plenty to choose from (even alcoholic cocktails). It is shame that afternoon snack in bar was only for very short time (until 4 PM).Food was absolutely amazing! Every day of week was dinner with different theme (Arabic, African, Mediterranean, ...) so there was always something new. Hotel itself is smaller so expect few meals to choose from at one lunch/dinner, but having different meals every day fixes it.Beach is nice with enough security guards (and CCTV cameras that you all around the hotel) so you do not need to worry. Though, it would be nice to have more adjustable beach chairs since those good ones are taken soon in the morning.Do not expect long walks after dinner. You can visit a small market nearby but only throughout the day (there are no street lights).

Looks great, was pretty disappointing. Rooms are pretty loud, we had warm water one out of 9 days. We had AI, was not worth it. Cocktails taste bad, too much cheap alcohol. Most of the cocktails were not included anyway. Dinners had themes, African, Italian, Asian... etc. What sounds like a good idea, was unfortunately not, as the cooks cant really cook any of these. Everything tastes bland and was not really seasoned. The hotel staff is friendly but when there are problems, they dont care. They have around 40 loungers for over 120 guests, so dont expect to get any if youre coming a bit later. We were really looking forward to our stay in this hotel, because it looked great and the reviews werent bad, but we were heavily disappointed and I wouldnt recommend it to friends.

Not our usual Hilton Hotel treatment. No shuttle available to collect us from airport when we called to book, still waiting for response for multiple email. Booking was a mess, agent online assisted with booking and then when we get to hotel they would not let us cancel the 1 night as discussed with agent due to us been booked overnight on a catamaran cruise even though agent online said it would be no problem. Hotel response you should have called us direct .... really surely that is why you have specific numbers for specific requirements.Getting to Hotel was well lets say - the roads are hectic , need a bit of attention. Just be aware that it will take you a bit to get there and get out of there. Ended up calling reservations in London 30 minutes while we tried to cancel 1 night . End result NO !Rooms are large, with lovely fourposter bed,and mosquito net and they spray rooms at night. Bed in 120 rolls in to the centre. Crows are annoying they steal your food off your plates. The hotel looks tired and needs new thatch. Crows make dreadful noise.The pool was beautiful, pity no towels available. 2 days running no swimming tools, dash to room to shower and dry off . No room towels allowed at pool. The hotels guarded beach area is lovely. The ocean itself beautiful, beautiful water during the day and at sunset. Black flags always up. Swimming pool it is . Christmas music will drive you mad same song over & over.The hotel has a wall which separates the ground from the beach. There are dozens of locals to buy from. They try sell you something the second you come down the stairs, so simply going for a quick walk into the ocean to cool off was not relaxing at all. Even if you say, No thank you 10 times, the locals still follow you around.Salad el din Ahmed front office manager was helpful and pleasant tried to assist, and extend booking. Held our luggage .We did bed & breakfast option, breakfast was very boring only word I can say is AVERAGE. Wildly expensive to add the other meals in. No offer to upgrade our package to anything on arrival at reception. The buffet runs at $35 per person minimum not great food. We ate at the Fishermans first day for lunch food was delicious, flies where insane ended up in drinks and then they charge you to replace drink shudder. Food took very long to prepare even though restuarant was quiet.The staff very average sadly not sure if it is a language barrier. The receptionist were not accommodating trying to check in & out took more than 30 minutes plus. Concierge services suck to put it bluntly . $15 taxi service for 450m drive .... only cost $4 with a 40 min wait. Walked home from restuarant in 3 minutes. We would not stay here again very disappointed. I would opt for somewhere with a little more interest in your booking request & needs, especially if you are a regular Hilton user. I would recommend check review rather pay a little more and stay at Gold Zanzibar beach hotel or Royal Zanzibar.Rave reviews on Hilton cookies on arrival yummy. $20 for 6 🥴

Excellent service from all staff, clean, neat beautifully maintained. View to die for, chocolate cookies divine a treat of welcome. Food and entertainment they have a variety. Security good and lots of beautiful spots to sit on in front of the ocean. A gem hidden behind a village

Would have been a better overall experience if our transfer to the airport was booked properly. We booked the day before at reception and double checked the timings on the day during check out. However, the driver was around 30mins late after multiple phone calls. The reception staff were not concerned and wasnt proactive in helping us get the car to come. Additionally, the transfer cost 40% more than the transfer we got with The Z hotel, 3 weeks prior. I thought we were paying a premium for quality and being on time.All inclusive meals were just average buffets. Variety of drinks available was ok. Rooms were large and very nice.Overall, decent experience until the end where we were thoroughly disappointed.If I was to stay at Nungwi beach again, Id pick the Z hotel for service/quality and location.

The best hotel in Zanzibar!The stuff are nice and willing to help, a lovely reception!THE BEST PART: Every day there is food of another country in the dining room! LOVE IT!The location is also great but, theres 1 thing, every time you will go for a daily trip, theyll pick you up first and return last. It means youll be in the car for an hour longer than everyone every day.

Nice hotel but very expensive for what you actually get. The staff are helpful the resort itself is lovely, great location and beach.Rooms are lovely but ours always seemed to have a damp smell, showed arent always hot but maintenance came and improved it slightly. The sunset bar is lovely games room pool table and darts board staff are lovely here and rhe view is amazing. Although drinks across the whole resort are extortionate compared tk anywhere else. 5-7 usd for a beer here it is 2 dollars in any of the beach bars either side and along the beach. The dinners and breakfast all buffet the first night dinner was a grand event with everyone sitting on the beach with lots of choice live band etc every night since has been minimal choice, especially if vegetarian, inside the main canteen and not as much of an atmosphere.Also the hotel services for drivers are a massive rip off they quoted 70 usd for a transfer to the airport our local driver has given us for 35. We stayed in a local beach bungalow set up before arriving here and their food, resort and over all experience much better for the price we paid.This is a great hotel if you want to be on a resort and pay for the hilton name, but maybe not if you want an authentic, island experience.

The hotel + room was nice. The staff of the hotel were nice too.The hotel restaurant food/experience was horrible!! We went to the dinner buffet for the BBQ lamb chops. The BBQ chef literally gave me charred bones with absolutely no meat on them. I politely asked him to give me something with meat on it — he replied with an attitude and gave me more bones with no meat!!After a few minutes, I decided to complain. The guest relations woman said that she’ll inform the head chef and that he’ll personally make lamb chops — the food that the head chef made was inedible.

Its a 4-star, yet we experienced 5-star service. The manager we met, Sandeep, knows what customer service is. He goes out of his way to ensure your stay is a very pleasant one. Every day he comes to you and asks if there is anything you need. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a wide variety of food daily. And each night has a different theme. The little curio shop at the hotel entrance is very reasonably priced and they have lovely Zanzibar gifts and clothing. And the hotel sells tins of cookies that is made at the hotel. You have to try these! Oh and I was pleasantly surprised at how few little children there were at this hotel. It caters for families - but seems to be more of an adults venue. Perhaps due to the smoking allowed in just about all the areas including the games room (probably my only dislike here). I would highly recommend this place though. The views are incredible.

The one of best hotel North coast in Zanzibar

Fabulous and magical place with unsurpassed service. We visited the restaurant twice in November 2019. This is the best restaurant I have ever visited. The dishes were incredibly delicious and wonderfully served. I would especially like to mention Sandeep Kumar Moorjani and his team, who created such an atmosphere and level of service. I have never met such a level of customer orientation.

Absolutely amazing experience. Fantatsic service. Our all inclusive package was lovely, great food variety and entertainment was such fun! We loved our honeymoon in zanzibar. The ocean view room was so convenient, and the resort was so clean and appealing. Amazing service all round. Thank you to all the team at double tree! Love, the honeymoon couple
