We were here for Sunset experience and we had a great one. there was a acrobatic show during sunset , Jet ski ride for water adventure, Nice music and long beachline to walk and njoy the peaceful atmosphere. Water is silent and good for swimming.

Great place to watch a sunset, have a drink and relax or rent a jetski or have a walk at the beach. There is a acrobatic performance and local music every day before sunset. Drinks at the bar are a bit pricier than in Paje.If you are somewhere in the area, i reccomend to check it out.

Very nice details and good vibe, nice area to relax in the shade down on the common ground. The only thing that I think might improve this place is to build and provide residents with some shade outside their bungalows. Perhaps a small sitting group on the north east side of each house. Every bungalow was facing south-west with magnificent view of the sunset in the ocean. However, this resulted in a very hot room, and no spacs to escape the sun.

Prices are average...You can go with private vehicle or have a tax to send you at this place then a driver can wait for you or you can get another tax once you ask people from the bar to organize a tax for you from the near village...Best time to be is either in the morning when sun rises to mid day, or in the evening mostly favored for the sunset vibes, drum dance and beach fire.Opens Everyday/

Kae Funk is a really nice and very quiet place to stay. The beach is beautiful and there are not many people around. The Bungalows are lovely and a bargain for the price. You have to keep in mind though that there are no other restaurant options around except of the expensive Kae Funk Beach Bar. The service at the Kae Funk restaurant is really slow, even if you ask for an on time breakfast the night before when you need to leave early. Sometimes we waited for 2 hours to get our food. If you have to catch a flight don’t rely on the restaurant or the driver to be in time and plan at least 1 hour time buffer. Overall we would stay again because of the nice rooms and the quiet beach. The service times need to improve though!

Very good place. Quiet. We can see the ocean from the cabana, not from the reception and restaurant because they built a wall just in front. The bar in the beach was really chill out and nice. Just a negative point the sheets and the towels was a little bit dirty

Great and relaxed place. Nice authenic cabins, close to the beach. All the staff is super lovely. Prices are a bit high for that what is offered, but hey its at the far end of Sanzibar (still, please work on the breakfast!). Would love to come back any time.

This has been our best accommodation and location during our time in Zanzibar. We met nice people and had a lot of fun even if the weather was bad for one day. The hut is very nice and you have a view to palm trees and the sea. The food is great. The staff and manager super kind!!! Thanks for the great time.

Stayed 5 nights, we had no hot water at any point as the hot water just ran out on the backside of the house through an unattached pipe. Had a hole in the floor in the room and the handle to the door fell off the first day. It was 30+ degrees Celsius every day without AC, and the fan in our room was barely functional. Toilet stopped working twice. The only place where they had WiFi was in the bar/lobby area where they also played reggie-covers of Christmas songs with the odd addition of lazer sounds on high volume. The electricity went and came without anyone bothering to look into why it was not working. Bedsheets etc had weird brown stains. They were out of most things in the bar and kitchen, including most beers and all wine at new years eve. The food was relatively expensive and took a long time to prepare, wasnt bad but sure wasnt good either. Would not recommend to anyone especially considering it was quite expensive compared to other options.

Our stay at Kae Funk was magical. If you are looking for the most beautiful beach, the most peaceful experience, this is definitely the place to be. We wished we had stayed longer.Everyone at Kae Funk is friendly, helpful and chilled. We welcomed with the most delicious fresh juice and our banda (room) was more beautiful than we imagined. Very private and with beautiful views.The food at the restaurant was the best we had in the entire island. Fresh grilled seafood, salad and curries. The breakfast was excellent. Lovely fruit salad, eggs, jam, toast, tea & coffee.The common spaces are really well set, with hammock, swings and lounges. Every aspect of the place was perfect with excellent facilities.The beach is the most beautiful we have been to in Zanzibar. The water warm, no waves and the sand is soft like cream. Morning beach runs are great too. The beach is all to yourself since Michamvi is not overcrowded with tourists.Overall, one of the most magical days we had in Zanzibar!

Cool place for sunset drinks and stroll on the beach. For those who like peace and quiet, it might be great to stay a night as it is rather secluded. There is an entrance fee to get it but you get a free drink in return.

The hotel is very nice and in a quiet area. The room is spacious, well decorated and clean. Same for the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and extremely large. Good ventilation system. Right on the beach.

Very nice place to rest in the nature. Good atmosphere. But the owner was not very kind, and some of the staff neither. Some guys Beach boys were to much intense trying to sell excursions into the hotel, it was not very comfortable.

I stayed for 4 days and enjoyed every minutes of it. The beach at the front of Kae Funk is just to die for, no one else except us. Magical sunset too. Elizma who runs this place is soooo sweet and welcoming us like good friends, we were looked after. She even organised surprise birthday dessert and singing by all the staff to my friend. So thoughtful! I would come back again anytime and stay longer.

Friendly staff, proper place to relax. The beach bungalow are cosy in tune with the spirit here. Beach is nearby with a cool bar. Cons : dinner are overpriced for here, 16usd, and there isnt much other place....

In the end we did not stay at Kae Funk Zanzibar due to circumstance, but the accomodation personal e-mail contact was very friendly, and we managed to come to a gentlemens agreement, a Pity we didnt got to stay at the resort!

Was here at the end of February. Colorful bungalows, made in African style. Shower and toilet in the room, no air conditioning, only a fan, no kettle. Breakfast is ok. The staff are friendly. Great views of the sunsets, the beach is beautiful, the tide is great, but you can always swim in the blue lagoon next to the mangrove forest.

Great bar, delicious cocktails. In the evening, a show program and a bonfire at sunset.

The place is class, a lot of living creatures around. Here is a monkey, for example, running there) the numbers themselves are so-so. And they are also building something nearby, and from dawn to dusk there is noise and clamor. We didnt get enough sleep.

All conditions are very spartan. But we specifically wanted to such a place. Although many little things that are easy enough to fix, but for some reason are not fixed, very upset us. The whole room is just teeming with ants, they are herds everywhere: on the floor, on the walls, on the table. The staff seems to have difficulty processing the insect room inside and out. At the entrance to the room there is no basin with water to wash your feet from sand, not even a rug. As a result, the entire number in the sand. How to go to bed without sand is not clear. Something constantly falls from the ceiling, including the bed. Water hardly flows, it is not possible to wash oneself. With an empty hotel, they refused to change the room. The hotel is positioned as a first line, but you still have to manage to get to the beach. The road 200 meters to the beach is simply terrible: everything is flooded with giant deep puddles that are not possible to get around. The menu in the restaurant at the hotel is quite scarce, there are no soups at all, prices can be found cheaper in the cafe on the beach. Not enough simpler and cheaper dishes. With an early departure, breakfast is simply lost; lunch box is not collected here. They also refuse to serve a skipped breakfast at any other time.Update The hotel representative selectively answered only the most insignificant remarks, bypassing the barely flowing water in the room and the crowds of insects in the room. The sand mat was never given to us. The road to the sea is poured every night not with rains, but with the tides from the ocean, the rainy season has nothing to do with it. There are many options for solving the problem with the road: from sending this small section with at least sand to building a bridge from the last unfinished room above the road through the fence (the road does not fill the fence)Update 2. On the third day, we still changed the number. But, in the proposed room (number 3), water flowed in the shower, however, it did not flow from the tap in the sink at all. They asked to show another number, and, surprisingly, they gave it. In room 2 with water everything was more or less normal, and the view was beautiful. However, as it turned out later, in this room the fan was spinning slowly, so it was hot at night. It turns out here to choose either cold water, or a normal fan. To solve the problem with cold water, there is one life hack: a heater hangs behind the house, reduce the temperature to a minimum and get a normal pressure of cold water. The insect spray was given to me at the reception, so the crowds of ants were able to restrain.The restaurant at the reception turned out to be deliciously fed. They ate delicious Suahili octopus! So in the end we basically liked it here.It is strange that the representative of the hotel responds so negatively in the comments on the review.Hotel Tips:1. At each cleaning treats the room with a spray from ants.2. Repair cold water in all rooms3. Put more powerful fans in rooms where necessary (4.3 and others)4. Put basins with water at the entrance to each room to wash your feet from the sand5. Think of how your guests can normally get to the beach, and not knee-deep in a dirty puddle.6. If you served breakfast at the beach bar, it would be super!And you will have a superb hotel !! Because much else is at your best: an interesting idea and implementation of the hotel in the jungle huts, daily room cleaning, good food! Here is a cool, quiet green place with a lot of living creatures (even monkeys feed on the trees on the territory!) And a beautiful beach with sunsets.

A good hotel, despite being positioned as 2 *. Of course the conditions are in the African style. I spent a week at the small village KaeFunk in February 2018, with my boyfriend and another couple! Perfect for those who love nature, tranquility and simplicity! The sunset on Kae Funk beach is unforgettable! IT HAS BEEN IN THE HEART

Away from the masses, relaxed environment, great and cheap food served in a wooden structure very original and striking, hiking opportunities. Rasta Bar on the beach (150 m from the property). A monkey picked us stealing bananas during the night ☺ breaking the silence of the wind and the birds. Friendly staff

I liked the restaurant in this bungalow complex: decoration in traditional African style, good cuisine, delicious dishes and prices of approximately the same level as in other restaurants in the area. The territory is clean, the staff is friendly. We were satisfied, I can recommend the restaurant.

There are 2 of them, the small but very nice resort where I had lunch once but ate well and the Kae fun on the beach run by WUDI, OMAR AND THE CHEF THAT LOVES US, A DELICIOUS PLACE LOVED BY WUDI WHERE YOU CAN ALSO ONLY DRINK A BEER ON COMFORTABLE SOFAS LOOKING AT THE SUNSET OR SPEND THE ENTIRE DAY WITH BEDS AVAILABLE IN ONE OF MICHAMVIS MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES
