I found this hostel by chance when I was looking for a different hostel. It looked clean, had mosquito nets on the windows and most importantly an AC in the dorm. The rate per bed is 25 000 Shilling. The bathroom is shared, one cannot be locked, the other one can. The hostel gets cleaned almost daily. It was pretty quiet too. I ordered breakfast once for 5 000 but it was not worth it, I got two pieces of fruit and that was it + I got it late, hakuna matata.
DO NOT TRUST THE STAFF. Khalfan Shabaan and Maulin. They are dangerous. I am a solo female traveller. They doubled my bill as I was checking out and when I refused to pay the extra, they locked the front door and attacked me. They harmed me physically and repeatedly threatened my life. They are friends with the police so nothing was done about it. I recorded the ordeal, but the police made me delete the footage. Some of the footage was salvaged, see YouTube. DONT STAY HERE.
Nice rooms with ac and good location. Very near best local food places. Only down side is that mosque is also near and you will wake up at 5am because of pray call.
Worst experience ever,It might be ok if you need a place to sleep and you are just passing by, but reservations are a fraud (they tried to double the price twice) and chaotic (we had arranged a pickup at the airport and they just abandoned us to rot.Their phone number is fake, so you cannot even call them.
Riverman is at the centre of it all. I could go anywhere in a few minutes from there, such a cool place. Looking forward to staying there again.
The hotel is somewhat old, and in need of renovation but the service is great. The manager is kind and offers servicea at very affordable rates. If you are on a low budget, this is a good option
Just simpleI really liked staying here. Its right in the heart of the town. You get to hear, see and experience what life is like in Zanzibar itself. My room had a view of the street below it
Clean, inexpensive and central. Rooms have AC, nets, shared bathrooms and good breakfast included. A great choice for budget travelers.
The staff were very kind and the bed was comfortable
Padlock on our room door, clean lining and bed but very basic. Not at all what the pictures showed when booking
A very nice place for a very good price. Easily approachable and Lukman Restaurant ist just around the corner. Huge beds btw.
Of the low budget hotel located at the heart of stone town. They offer good service and hospitality
Ideal when backpacking on a low budget. The staff there is helpful.
Service was good as well as the staff, hotel itself is very rundown, not a good lication
Its quite clean but there is no hot water, and some of rooms with shared bathroom
Clean place and very helpful and friendly staff

Unfortunately, the hotel staff does not use any personal protective equipment such as hand disinfectants or protective masks. One night at this hotel resulted in a COVID infection. I was infected by the receptionist coughing in my face without even covering my face with his hand.COVID ALSO OCCURS IN TANZANIA!One of the cheaper accommodation options in Stone Town. Clean rooms, with mosquito nets, some with air conditioning. Standard adequate to the price. Hotel insufficiently signposted and hard to find for the first time.
Very bad experience! I unfortunately reserved a room on booking, once there the room did not correspond at all to the photos. No toilet, no shower and above all not very clean. I tried to cancel the reservation made 30min earlier but the guy at the reception refused any arrangement. I felt threatened. My guide tried to mediate but nothing helped. A real crook and liar. When he left he said everything will be canceled but he tried to take the money from the visa!In short, real disappointment!
Simple but good. Rooms have either AC, fan or just two windows. Otherwise the room has nothing except a bed and a chair. All the windows in the whole hotel are secured with mosquito grilles. Depending on the room you get the worship of the Anglican or prayers in the adjacent mosque live - I recommend earplugs! The beds are great!
Professional scammers! We have tried to double the price of the reservation repeatedly, and when they have seen that we were not giving in, they simply left us lying at the airport in the middle of the night. The phone number they have in Booking and Maps is false, it wont be that you call them to ask for explanations. Authentic unpresentable.
Very clean hotel, spacious and well equipped room. Owner very helpful and friendly. Ideal location to visit the historic heart of Stone Town.
The environment is comfortable, no water, quilts, mosquitoes are normal, the service attitude is friendly, the location is moderate, and the transportation is convenient.
For us as backpackers it was almost luxury. In the middle of the city life - with direct contact with the locals
Nice hotel in the center of Stone town. Small but clean rooms with climate and en-suite bathroom.
Good value for money. Clean rooms, nice service
Flee is one of the rare dishonest people I met in Zanzibar ....
In the middle of Stone Towns life :)
Good value hotel.
