Expected much more from this hotel considering its 4*, and sister to the Doubletree by Hilton. This is 3* standards at best. On the plus side, the hotel is in a great location in Stone Town, walking distance to everything. The majority of the room was clean enough. The beds are comfortable, and the AirCon in the room was perfectly crisp and cool, and the ceiling fan added extra air flow. However, the rooms dont have an iron/board or turn down service as advertised, no telephone, you need to walk up and down the horrendous stairs to ask the desk anything. The towels in our room were frayed. Toilet seat was broken, the shower knobs were broken. The window covers were broken. The water pressure is very low. The bathrooms clearly are not cleaned properly before and after guests, because there was used contact lenses dried up on the shelf when we arrived. The windows in the bathroom do not close properly, so every morning we woke up to a plethora of dead bugs all over the bathroom, even in our toiletries. The restaurant is ok, but very uncomfortable in summer with no AirCon. Breakfast is good, but the same everyday. Really wanted to love this place, but was a big let down and the hotel took no accountability for the issues.

A really nice, air conditioned home base from which to explore Stone Town. An older but well-maintained boutique hotel with a decent restaurant. Recommended!

Best of Zanzibar/ Stone town. Food is tasty as you would expect in spice city! Amazing staffs, very welcoming and accomodating.

Hotel to recommend! It is in a central location, next to what tourists are most interested in visiting, but in a quiet street. The rooms are large, with a large and high bed. It has a fridge, large television, safe, beautiful views, desk and a bank. The room is cool thanks to the air conditioning and the ceiling fan. The shower is large and the water plentiful and hot. The cleanliness of the rooms is good and every day they leave you a bottle of water to cool you down. When you check in you are welcomed with a refreshing drink and from there you do not have to worry about anything. They have WiFi and it works perfectly. We also have breakfast, coffee is not included in the price but if several types of teas, give you a variety of fruit selection (papaya, pineapple and watermelon for example), choose between muesli or pancakes (which are actually more like Crepes) and then between several types of eggs. They also give you a croissant and bread per person. Upon entering breakfast you are greeted with a delicious mango juice. All the staff is really friendly. The best thing is the tranquility and that everything is close! Thanks to the entire hotel and its excellent staff!

The city hotel is recommended. Because it is very central. You can get to the beach or the harbor quickly. The rooms were always very clean. Dudchgel and so were handed in daily
