The Hotel is located up north of Stone Town city, approx 6-7 kms. The property is beach facing towards the West Coast, so a perfect place to see the Sunset.Rooms are spacious, with ample sunlight and you can enjoy the sunset right from your window in the living room provided you book the sea facing room.Evening BBQ is really nice and worth the spend.Staff hospitality is at its best , especially the lady at the reception and Hotel Manager - Sudhir.Room amenities are good, have a small kitchen for self cooking too and beds are very comfortable.Only concern is to have transportation for visiting nearby places, but that you can take number from local taxi drivers and bargain, never had any problem in getting taxi from and to the hotel.

Does not have their own private beach.Rooms are above 100usd which is kind of expensive. Overally it is a classy place and if you are lucky you will get a room with a view at an extra cost that is.Fairly near the ferry station so good for convenience.

Very well located resort on a cliff. We booked a 2 bedroom suite facing the ocean and pool. Staff is very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast variety is also good. Restaurant is on the 5th floor with a beautiful view of the ocean...so one can really enjoy having his meals.Rooms are well organized and clean.Pool area is also well maintained and kept clean. They also have a gym! They also have friday barbeque nights on the pool side.Thank you for the wonderful stay.

The rooms are not small but it needs maintainance. Not many channels on the TV. The rooms are sea view but you cant see much because of the dirty windows. The bed was big but with combination of 2 small matresses, you cant lay in the middle as one of the mattress is too soft other one is hard and it is annoying. The bedsheets and towels were not very clean. Restaurant on the top floor is facinf the ocean and has a nice view. The price of the food is reasonable and was tasty. Stayed one night and informed the hotel before arriving that we will be coming for honeymoon. However was disappointed when we reach, they didnt do any decoration on the bed or anywhere. Has a certificate for being one of the best for honeymoon but deffinately wasnt in our case. Not suitable for honeymoon at all. The hotel doesnt have access to beach. Only good thing was that the staff was well trained and was always smiling and greeting with joy. Close to town, only 10/15 mins ride to city center.

Guys the customer service here is epic, this is my second time staying in this hotel and I love it. Its a bit out from the city , but totally worth it especially if you have had a long day . Also if you drink ..bring your own booze.l, they dont serve alcohol. Otherwise the food is amazing, the rooms are clean and the staff just wow me !!

Golden Tulip exceeded all my expectations! Every single thing about this resort was perfect.The breakfast was amazing! The food was great and fairly affordable!The sea view was spectacular.I also must acknowledge the great customer service. All the workers are extremely kind. The rooms are spacious and quite modern.I would definitely recommend this to anyone. The only downside might be their pool which is quite small.General thoughts: Great experience

Lovely subset view from my hotel room. The Ocean breeze and sound of lapping waves priceless.Choice of English TV or Sports stations almost non existent. Stuck with only English version of China News Station.You have to go to a common area to watch choice channels on one tv, on the top floor.

Family and I had a good time here. The pool is there and had better be there because even though the hotel faces the beach, there is no access to the beach from the hotel. So you can enjoy the beautiful views, but cannot get to walk on the beach or swim. There isnt much of actual sandy walk area... so even if you were to access the beach, you need protective shoes to keep from slipping on slimy rocks which are full of shell fish. The rooms were clean and big enough. The staff were ALL very nice, from trainees to seasoned (2 years is what they told me was the age of the hotel).The pool is divided into 2 parts, one for little kids and those who just want to get in the water and not necessarily swim, while the bigger side gets pretty deep and is for those who really want to swim.It seems to be the fade in Zanzibar that all hotels and lodging places have fixed menu... that is to say, no variation from day to day. So you just take photo of the menu and use it to order next day and the day after.One thing different about this place is that you can order anything form the menu and it is delivered to your room for free if you want!

Not what you would expect from the Golden Tulip brand, nonetheless it has air conditioning and clean sheets. Smell of food in the room, probably coming from the rooftop restaurant. Staff was friendly. Overall it was a comfortable staying.

Beautiful hotel, comfortable and with great staff - friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautifully appointed - we had an beautiful ocean view with small balcony - no chairs out there but we carried a couple up from the ground floor store. Its actually a suite with separate living kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom. Great shower! Spotless linens.Bring your own tipples if you like a drink as theres no bar here. Breakfast is a fair variety of fruits, cereals and cooked foods. The omelettes fill the gap very well. No access to ocean and beach is a distance, but the poolside is fine with plenty of loungers. Theyre still putting together the cafe for next to the pool but you can order from the restaurant in the meantime. Id definitely come again!

The hotel with a great view and caring staff. Choose the ocean front room for a scenic look of the Indian Ocean. This establishment is around a 15 minute drive from Stone Town, and not too far from the airport either. There is a medium sized swimming pool and a small fitness centre to keep you active.

Brand new hotel with amazing sea view (dont worry if your room doesnt have it, the view from the restaurant is available all day long), spacious, modern aircoditioned (which is rare on the island) rooms, good pool with kids area and really nice staff. It is located not in the beach area but if your itinerary consists of mostly tours go ahead and book it. The room rates are really good compare to other hotels and for value you get.

The hotel itself is pretty fine. It was clearly built with luxury in mind and therefore provides huge rooms, very nice sea-side swimming pool area and all the typical services. For the local standards, thats really a lot.On the other its shine is long gone. The bathrooms scream for renovation, the huge kitchen section is pointless as it has nothing in it, many parts require maintenance, the windows are extremely thin and let tons of road-side noise inside, including nearby mosque, which is impossible to miss for 20min, 5 times a day, including 5-6AM.On top of that the service is extremely nice (with exception of one non-stop annoyed lady at reception), but also quite inefficient. Restaurant food is ok-ish, with exception of pizza, which is just terrible. No alcohol is sold at any time. The breakfast is pretty nice. Location is good, as long as you can move by car/taxi - ~15min to the city center, easy exist to north and east. No beach access.Now, what is the real problem is the managers. In fact the hotel has cancelled our reservation just before our arrival, due to overbooking, leaving us with no place to stay and with all the alternatives at extremely elevated prices. They offered no help, no explanation, not even an apology! Absolutely disrespectful.In the end, after intervention of our booking provider the hotel has finally hosted us, but we were asked to pay 30% more, due to price inconsistency between their booking system and Expedia - as if it was our fault. Again, this was lifted, but it didnt come easy.To sum up, even with all its shortcomings its still a strong option for this price and this area, but has potential to be far, far better, with only some serious management changes.

Decent hotel but misleading ads. The hotel doesn’t have a beach with sand. You can only sit from far by the swimming pool to see the beach.- breakfast is average and repetitive- room service was fast- 15 minutes drive away from the airport- Gym is very very small- clean rooms with AC- Hotel is located on a small property

It was okay... Though I was a bit disappointed that I couldnt swipe my card as all their machines were jammed. On the plus size, they are very friendly and welcoming and they provided alternative payment means for my friend and I.

Good hotel, some distance from the centre of Zanzibar city (Stone town). Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are as big as the pictures show. We booked the smallest room and its like a small apartment. There is a pool, seaside, but it is a bit small. As is the top floor restaurant. Sometimes the restaurant hosts events and then there is even less available space. Enjoyed my stay.

When we arrived at around 4pm they said our room wasnt ready which is not a great start since it was well past check in time. The food was nice but limited menu and not much choice in the area for other restaurants. Staff were friendly and breakfast was nice. If you want a towel for the pool you have to go to reception to request rather then just being available at the pool, the pool was nice and refreshing though. Would be good if they have more information freely available about things to do in Zanzibar rather then just when someone from the tour company is on site which is infrequent at times. Enjoyed the stay overall but just a lot of small things that brought it down, they also dont have alcohol available.

We were here only a short time yet we were welcomed beutifully and had a really Nice room. The breakfast was amazing and the staff friendly and helpfull. The menu doe roomservice was quite big het it was a bit of a wait. The seafood as you can imagine was really Nice.

The resort was fantastic.All the people working there were friendly and willing to provide all your needs.I went there with my wife and had a positive comments about the restaurant.The only point with which we werent satisfied is the traffic jam going from & the resort and that was because of the work on the road.

Worst hotel in Zanzibar. Rude staff , terrible customer service. We stayed for 2 nights and had the most horrible time , receptionist Jacqueline and Celine were very rude , our room was never cleaned nor change of towels the following day.We do not recommend this hotel. Horrible service .Hotel itself is just standard, breakfast is very basic and do not serve alcohol (which not mentioned on their website).Our Anniversary break in Zanzibar was not enjoyable...thanks to Golden Tulip Resort.

Pretty standard hotel in a good part of town. It is however technically not a resort as advertised. Standard rooms and the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Biggest downside was the flies, they were everywhere.

The rooms are beautiful , the restaurant view is wonderful but swimingpool is soo small , no beach in this place , a fake sand place don t trust the pictures, some of the staffs behavior is so rude they think everything is by money , very far from stone town maybe it takes 20$ for taxi or more

I would strongly advise booking this hotel if youre from a country that requires a visa for entry into Tanzania. They are not flexible when it comes to payment as they take the complete payment weeks before your stay despite stating that payment can be made at the property. Their customer service is also woeful. Avoid at all costs.

Very nice gym, good to workout on holiday to 😀We got upgraded for free .And very very big roms 205 brides suite, clean and super helpful staff, we get married at this hotel, and they help us with everything. Absolute everything. Super nice breakfast. Close to Stonetown aswell. And the best, they come every evening at 19, to spray your rom with anti mosqito spray that smells like lemons. 😁👌Recommended .... but remember that this is a non alcoholic hotel, so no bar. but its allowed to take drinks with you in to the hotel to drink😀 the alcohol shoop is just a cheap taxi drive from here.( ZMMI ) is the name of the best shop for smoke and alcohol. The Taxi is very cheap so it is not a lot to take a Taxi to Stone Town. Its quiet here, most quiet at the side you got sea wieu. Fantastic.Best hotell. Book inn today😁

Beautiful Rooms Fairly Friendly staff, clean, nice pool for children and adults. Food is good, breakfast is yummy. Affordable rates no hidden charges. They also allow late check out with a little extra charge. The view of Zanzibar is a must see on the 5th floor. Only fault is too much flies when you are having your meal. In all Hakunna Ma tata.

I stayer twice in Golden tulip chain hotel, once in Dar es salam and found Cockroach under my blanket and I noticed in morning means I slept whole night with Cockroach and second times I stayed in Zanzibar and poor services, I found many different insects in my room and could not sleep whole night...

Lovely hotel... But too many mosquitoes, probably because of the location.... I enjoyed my stay over all..
