Mrusi House was the nest holiday experience I have ever had. The staff are hands on and extend their love to the guests. I shout out to Iddi and Ali who made my stay even more memorable.

Very central place for a short stay. We got a pretty bad room for the first night which did not match the shown images here, pretty old and broken stuff inside. What was nice that we received for the 2nd night a much better room at the 2nd floor, which was much better and matched the images here more or less, but anyway: overall impression are 2,5 stars, not more. P.S. The breakfast is ooookay. Everything enough for a really short stay, not more.

Mrusi House is a cozy hotel/guest house, very central in the Stone Town. The room I stayed was spacious, had mosquito net, a big washroom. The restaurant is small but the breakfast is really nice. There is always someone at the front desk to help you and they understand English. 10/10 for location, hospitality and cleanliness.

Restaurant review: delicious food, good Quality at a fair price and excellent service.We order 2 falafel, humus and mocktails. Humus was different and delicious, with Zanzibar spices was something unique. The Mocktail and very well design and had a great flavor. Finally the falafel were well cook, a little small, but very tasty with a good portion of salad.Above all was the service, Mwana was our waitress,She helped us with local tips around the island and was very patience to all of our request (#vegetarians).Would definitely go again.

Unacceptable from a hotel!When we left and handed over the keys, the receptionist absolutely wanted to charge us for an extra night on the pretext that we were leaving late (6 p.m.). Although the hotel was empty, he informed us that reservations had been canceled due to our late departure. Which was completely wrong!We made it clear when we arrived that we were only staying for one night and needed the room for most of the day. Request approved by a hotel member!The message obviously did not get across to everyone, proof that communication within the hotel is non-existent.Go your way because it reflects a crucial lack of professionalism and a deep bad liver.Not letting us go and literally wanting to lock us in the hotel, we finally agreed with him to compensate him (for a so-called night lost for the hotel), but the money we offered him was never enough.We quickly realized that all of this was just a pretext to extract even more money from us despite the night spent at their establishment.

The guest house has no electricity every day, no water, heat in the room. All the food you buy turns sour, because the refrigerator works only at night (electricity is connected at night). You wont be able to go to the toilet either, because there is nothing to flush with. The guest house is not at all drawn. Hostel, no more. No breakfasts, scrambled eggs every day and uncooked pancakes.
