Very good experience. Even though we booked the night of after our AirBnB fell through, it was very affordable and not too crowded. Breakfast is on the rooftop with a stunning view of the city. The bathrooms and shower facilities are fairly nice. The rooms have bednets and fridges. They provided bag storage when we left and were more than happy to set up taxis and spice tours when we wanted. The only issues I had were the fact that the front desk was not staffed by a manager at late hours and that the place is a bit hard to find in the cramped, winding streets of stone town. On the other hand, this means the hotel is very close to the old fort, palace, and house of wonders, a prime location.

We had to stay there over-night between flights Europe to Tanzania mainland. Arrived hence very late in the night, took few minutes for the reception to get up.The room was indeed spacious. Bathroom was a bit lower than expectations. On the plus side: they had a cute touch, knowing we were on a honeymoon with a heart on the bed.Breakfast was quite basic, view from the terasse was good though.

This hotel engages in bait and switch pricing. We agreed on a price and they changed it at check out. We made every effort to pay at the time of check in but they kept insisting that we wait, I see now that this was so they could keep the final price from us. We asked several times to pay and were told to wait. Ive never had a hotel be so dishonest or a hotel manager be so agressive. It was my birthday and our honeymoon and this really ruined our trip. He lied to us and told us that if we waited until the next day we would pay the agreed upon price. He made me cry and ruined my birthday. After we checked out we saw the exact same thing happen to the family after us. The manager is an awful man to avoid at all costs.

The hotel itself is neat and clean. The staff was kind and helpful. The main thing I didnt like was that the room was way too noisy. You could here everything outside. People talking, cats crying, scooters riding through the isles. If youre a light sleeper think about this. The bed was also too small, Im 1.80m and I couldnt stretch all the way.

Asmini Palace turned out to be a pleasant place. Certainly not the fanciest of all options in Stone Town, also not in a location not to be missed, this place does, in fact, have a lot to make you like it. The old building is somewhat charming and the location, while still close to everything and just the two corners away from the crowded areas, gives it a tranquility not easy to find.Rooms are spacious, fan and aircon in good condition, breakfast is being served on a rooftop terrace.

Hotel is very well kept, staff is friendly, and they take care to prevent mosquitos in the rooms. The beds are quite comfortable, much softer than average for the island, and rooms are well appointed, spacious, and comfortable. The internet access is free but currently seems to be slow to the point of unusability. The bathrooms are a bit severe, but functional. Sadly we have to leave early to catch a flight, so wont be able to try out the breakfast. In any case, I do recommend Asmini Palace for the weary traveler, looking for a touch of air conditioned comfort!

A really excellent hotel with relaxing, stress killer and immaculate room(s) (apart from few mosquitoes and roaches, just joking!) which comes with all the amenities from cable TV, mini fridge, proper air conditioner, cupboard, sofas, table with drawers, comfortable beds with mosquito nets, landline phone, clean bathroom to kettle (provided with coffee, different kinds of teas, sugar & tableware) and surprisingly, the price of the room (twin beds) is, wait for it ($62/- approximately and that too during high season, imagine!). The staffs are very cooperative, friendly and helpful, attending to your every needs with a smile. Did I forget to mention that they have a rooftop restaurant as well, by the way, I enjoyed the breakfast there with partial sea view. The location of the hotel is very convenient too. So far I am satisfied and happy with my stay at Asmini Palace Hotel. Id recommend this hotel to anyone who dreams of staying at Park Hyatt, Serena or Tembo Hotel bcoz this hotel will get you as close and good to staying at the above mentioned expensive hotels (almost close, if you exclude swimming pool, bathtub, unnecessary branded toiletries and buffet with items which some you wont even eat, lol!). In short, you wont regret your decision of staying at Asmini, itll be worth your hard earned money. Have a nice stay.

Hotel without too many pretensions but with rather high standards for the context in which it is located. The structure is in Arabic and Indian style. Typical breakfast quite rich and very good.Very friendly and helpful staff.WiFi also present in the room.Tend to be clean and tidy.Very convenient location.Air conditioning in the room.Recommended
