The rooms are cozy and appealing, the bathroom even more... also clean and themed for deep relaxation; They have this remarkable marble wall with water dripping off it like a waterfall. You can see its beauty from every floor youre on. Its a beautiful feature you cant believe youll find... You can also sit outside at the shade or at the balcony restaurant at the top floor of the hotel if you have a guest you cant accompany in your room or if you crave for a breathe of fresh air while at the hotel...
We decided on the spur of the moment to do a girls trip and what an experience. My compliments goes out to the manager of this establishment for her kindness and her service excellence. She is a definite asset to this hotel. Meagan compliments to you on making our stay enjoyable and for all the tips you have given us.Agreed the hotel could definitely use a pool but you made up for the lack of it. Rooms were cleaned with new towels and soaps.Compliments to you Meagan on amazing management skills.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from major attractions in Stone Town. The manager and her awesome team are very professional, friendly and attentive to their guests needs. The rooms and other facilities are kept clean and guests are provided with free drinks and toiletries daily. I have seen some negative reviews about the breakfast but it has changed during my stay I was offered a breakfast menu with a variety delicious food options to choose from. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for comfortable accommodation Stone Town.
Inspite of the pool and the garden area going through a remodel and the elevator being out the excellent customer service made up for everything.....Megan the hotel manager, and her front desk staff were amazing. The food staff Hilima and Khan were amazing as well. The hotel is also located close to Stonetown and all the historical sites and the prices are very reasonable.
Had a very enjoyable stay at the hotel. Friendly staff and very helpful. Rooms are neat and comfortable. Breakfast was a bit disappointed and can improve.
A quiet place, very wonderful attendants. Breakfasts are well organized and food is tasty.
The location was handy as it was close to the ferry. However the rooms were stuffy and hadnt been properly cleaned when we arrived (the floor was clearly dirty). The sheets and towels had stains and the rooms smelled of humidity. The staff was nice but didnt seem too worried about making the place look nicer (or cleaner). We asked for laundry service which took longer than what was promised and we had to ask for it more than once. Breakfast was far from impressive, with it being served to you, no buffet or menu to choose from, and no actual, real coffee (just instant coffee wannabe). We also had problems with the key (card) for our room, which sometimes worked and sometimes didnt, with them having to open it with an actual key. They did offer us to change to a different room but by then we didnt feel like it.If youre looking for a place to lay your head close to the ferry at a not so high price BW should be fine. But if you want something nicer and are bothered about any of the above, I wouldnt recommend it.
Cockroaches infested hotel. Everywhere we looked, we saw cockroaches crawling 🤮. It’s also close to the terminal which is extremely noisy. One star for the staff only.
LOCATION IS GOOD BUT HOTEL IT NEEDS MORE CLEANING
Great hotel close to everything. My room is clean and light, the bed is great, big bathroom, balcony with room for two, two free bottles of 0.5 liter water every day, great breakfast with many options and nice and helpful staff 👍🏼👍🏼The rooftop restaurant has a great view of the ocean but the prices are a bit on the high side.Pro tip: the hotel next door has a pool you can use for only $5/10,000 tsh per day - including towel.
Dusty, small rooms with leakage in the bathrooms, which hotel staff only covered up with towels after making a complaint. Poor service in restaurant along with horrible food. Waitress did not seem to care when advised. Shuttle to the airport was 30 minutes late which only added to the stress. Check in staff were fine but seemed totally unprepared to manage our group. Really wanted to like this place but suggest avoiding it at all costs.
Our booking was moved from Golden Tulips to best Western due to lack of availability. Te rooms were small but clean. Spacious bathroom, with shower. Our room had a balcony which accommodated for smoking. Quaint garden restaurant. The rooftop restaurant overlooked the Port. No pool but were told we could use the pool at the golden tulip.
Very clean and comfortable. The rooms were smaller but that means they cool down faster in the hot Zanzibar afternoons. The beds were amazing and the staff was incredibly helpful. They booked our tours at very reasonable rates. The breakfast had options for everyone including a cheese and mushroom omelet! Delicious! We will definitely be going back!
Hi i stayed at the best western plus in zanzibar upon arriving i was checked in to a room on the ground floor had no view at all and my request was that all my rooms were to be next to each other but the hotel has not done that, secondly the breakfast was really awful we were just given omelets there was no sugar for the tea or coffee as well as no cereal basically all there was, was eggs. and thirdly upon check out i was charged extra 1 dollar a per person a night addition to what i initially paid which came out to quite a lot since i was a family of 6 staying for 4 nights, i would not recommend this hotel to anybody. please stay away.
Very pleasant staff. Decent rooms. Call for chef he will fix a menu of your choice. Great location and good view from some of the rooms. Nice terrace bar with good choice of alchole.
The people are always nice but the rooms had a horrible sewer smell. The TV hardly worked, every channel was mostly static, internet was intermittent, and the sea view was primarily of a smelly back alley and loading dock. Deluxe room was tiny and they claimed it was their biggest.
The room is small but it makes good use of the small spaces. The doors to the balcony were not designed well because you can see gaps below the doors so mosquitoes could come in and could cause a big loss of air conditioning. There are people who come in the early evenings though to spray the room. The hotel was built a few months ago so everything is still new. The complimentary breakfast is good. You get to choose between an American breakfast, Indian breakfast, Zanzibar special, and a few other items (cannot remember). Check out the terrace at the top floor, it is worth the view. I would come back again
Price is normal for this quality, but not cheap. Good location near the port - you can visit all interesting historical points by foot. Standart room is very small, which is not enough to open and pack bags (better to pay extra $ in advance and get bigger room). Wi-fi connection is very unreliable, it didn’t work at all or worked extremly slow. Room was cleaned regulary, but the bathroom near the toilet bowl was not claen for a long time.
Great hotel, one street back from the ferry terminal, that leads to the Stone Town promenade. The Airport is only 15-30min drive away, depending on traffic, costing about USD10. Set behind a covered outdoor dining garden, it has nice rooms and a good breakfast is provided. The friendly staff can organize day trips. Two bits of current construction that would make things nicer once completed are the hotel’s rooftop conversion into a bar, and the road works between Mercury’s Bar and the hotel.
Top service. Received us with orange juice. Changed the room to one with balcony. Made especial arrangements because I was in a hurry with my laundry. Amazing breakfast. Great staff!!!!
Very friendly, welcoming, and helpful staff. Excellent location. Very nice and well maintained hotel. Dont let the short bumpy road out front put you off.
Clean place with neat rooms and comfortable beds and great rain shower in bathroom. Convenient location near the ferry easy access to Stone Town. Friendly and helpful staff and owners. Good value for money.
Nice Hotel combination of modern design & local Hindi/Arab exterior style. Very comfortable. Great view at night. Serene. Nice complementary breakfast. Friendly personnel
Shall enough to be cozy with a staff that is attentive enough to be friendly without being overbearing. Located at the mouth of Stone Town and a couple of minutes walk from both the Spice Tours and the boats heading to Penna and Prison Islands. Good food, great ambiance and Panasonic views. A definite come back to place.
Rooms were small but were as advertised. Breakfast was awful. Generally staff was nice to the men in our group. The females were treated no as well.
My stay here was splendid, the staff were amazing. The room was small but cozy, the complimentary breakfast was wonderful and the terrace lounge views was mind-blowing.
Good hotel for a reasonable price. Air conditioning is a big plus. Not all hotels in Zanzibar have this. The Breakfast is exceptionally great. Try the Indian Bread (like French Toast with chili) Nearly European standard. But the WiFi is really bad. Welcome back to the old Dail-Up Modem speeds.
Clean rooms, good location, helpful staff. Breakfast ok, but not enough tables if large groups are present.
Though all basic amenities are available here.. but rooms are too small. Road to hotel is almost unmotorable. Restaurant is also close to unhygienic.. had to checkin just because my original hotel ditched me.wont come here again.
Wonderful hotel ,staff are so kind and the service are great ...advise you to go
Excellent Experience - We, a group of eight people, spent almost 5 days in the hotel. All the facilities are in perfect conditions. The food was excellent. The staff is great. We met Edna who, besides being smiling every time we saw her, she was always careful of us and helped us organizing the activities, in our case half-day tour of Prison Island, half-day tour of Stone Town, ,swimming with Dolphins, two-days tour of Zanzibar Island. Edna organized all the activities with a tour guide, and two drivers w/ two nice vans. The service is excellent. So everything was great, the facilities, the food, the staff, the activity services, ...., you will enjoy a wonderful vacation in ZanzibarA group of 8 people from Chicago
Clean rooms. Wifi a bit temperamental. Dinner selection was good but breakfast could be improved. Friendly and attentive service.
Very good service, kind staff, the guardian is also a very nice and helpfull person. Hotel is near to the beach and all the best restaurants of stone town. We can walk to the historic monument. You can also have a Nice dinner at the hotel and a good breakfast to start your day. There is in the hotel also Ahmed who is in charge of all the excursion for a very good price. I really recommand this hotel
Very enjoyable at a centrally located hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant was functional but not very enticing.
Excellent service from the entire staff. Close to the ferry terminal made it easier to embark and disembark.Highly recommended.
Staff are amazing. Location is right off the port! Bang at the Old stone town! Rooms are not too spacious but are very comfy!
Great and consistent hospitality. Thank you to the Management and Staff. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Good hotel but restaurant needs upgrade and get waitresses that understand English. Clean modern rooms.
