We had an excellent experience at Kims restaurant. After a hot bike ride we stopped at Kim to refresh and eat something, we werent disappointed. The most polite waitress helped us to some fresh juices and great lunch meals, for which she went out her way to buy fresh produce at the local stalls to prepare for us. Afterwards we were a tad short on local currency, but the owner Hakim offered us a ride in his car to a nearby shop where we could exchange money for a good rate. Overall superb experience!

Best food we had so far on the island… the chutneys, the fish and the octopus tasted really awesome.

I had read quite a few reviews about Kim’s and so decided to try it with hubby and kids. I ordered at about 5pm and booked our order ahead of time and was scheduled to come at 6pm. The taxi first went to the wrong hotel and when we arrived at 6.30pm we were the only customers and disappointingly there was no food in sight. We eventually got our meals at 7.30pm (Kims brother advised that they like to cook everything fresh when you arrive, which I understand but I just wish that had been clear when Kim suggested we place the order prior to coming). I was not hopeful as the restaurant was not at all what I imagined (I’d read it was romantic?!) but wow the food was good and we ate it in record time.Service is OK (we didn’t get everything we ordered), it is slow and very dimly lit, but get past all that and you have delicious food and actually a place worth a visit. It is quaint and a very homely affair, more a shack rather than a restaurant.Ps. Yes the coconut crusted fish is good but the grilled fish is just as good.

Very good Coconut Salad and Calamari in Coconut Sauce. Takes some time like everywhere but definately worth to wait. Everyting fresh & tasty.

Kim’s place is the best spot in Jambiani, food is amazing and the vibe is even better. Will always come back, feels like family already

We wanted to connect with the local Jambiani’s life and he knew how to help us all the way.The food was amazing. Kims was recommended in our guidebook. Its only a small local place with 4 tables. As with all zanzibari restaurants you have to wait some time for your food. Once the food did arrive it was delicious! My girlfriend had the peanut coated fish with rice and mango chutney. I had the chicken coconut curry with rice. It also came with a little bit of vegetable and potato side curry too, which was nice. The portion was large and very tasty. I would definetly recommend.

It was nice to experience great local food in Jambiani with Kim. There is a generational culinary ability with Kim and his family.Highly recommend a visit. Try and order ahead of time for best results.They also have the best looking menu in town!Karibu!

Restaurant has terrible service, the owner even didnt give us a information about lack of products, me and my husbandl were waiting longer than 1,5 hour... My husband ordered octopus without added products, and he got a half of octopus and a rest of calmars... and I didnt get my order- calmars without added products and I didnt get it. The portion was extremly small. Even the ovner didnt say sorry to us. Dont come there.

We went twice to Kim’s restaurant and loved it! Family run, everything fresh from the day, try the octopus or his famous peanut crusted fish! Thanks Kim, all the best!

Beautiful place, people are wonderful, whatever you are interested in they are always ready to explain and show you. The food is very tasty, whatever you order you cant help but like. I ate at this restaurant for 10 days, because I had no need to go to another because everything was perfectly prepared. My sincere recommendation for this wonderful restaurant.
