Sometimes small helps worth a thousand words. Blue Oyster really helping us a lots. I believe sometimes my requests may bordering you, apologize for that. I like the hotel peaceful environment, cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff. There was a variety of breakfasts although it was almost simila everyday. I will miss the sunrise, sunset, low tide, high tide and the sound of wave. Every morning fishermen going out to sea. Every evening villagers playing football at the beach. Every night the sky full of stars. Greetings jambo, hakuna metata, pole pole, asante...it will be unforgettable.

This place is heaven on earth! Blue Oyster hotel was the best choice we could do. Absolutely amazing clean surrounding, big clean room with the most beautiful view on the ocean we have ever seen. One of the best thing of this hotel are its staff, they are so very helpful, kind, friendly, almost like family, they are just exceptional. We loved the view from restaurant during the very good breakfast. There are plenty of sunbeds with free towel service. Ocean is warm and it is really interesting to observe the alternation of low tide and high tide. During the day you can have a good lunch and drink at the beach bar and during the evening you can enjoy delecious dinner at hotel restaurant. We also made a trip with Captain Zappy - really nice boat, snorkeling trip around Jambiani, and 3 other trips provided by hotel (Blue Safari, Spice tour, Jozani forrest), all of them were just perfect and we enjoyed it so much. It was the best vacation of our lives, really. We want to thank to all Blue Oyster staff for their efforts and making our vacation unforgettable!Silvie & Rast

High quality for the price! We stayed 5 nights in Septembre.Rooms are nice, very clean and confortable.The restaurant is amazing and serve very delicious food (I recommend sea food platter).Employee are very nice and helpfull.I have only one advice: one receptionnist made us book a taxi for twice the price, its better to negotiate by yourself with the driver. It happened only once, other receptionnist was very helpfull and trustworthy.

Beach⛱️⛱️⛱️...👌👌 Extremely clean (they have people that clean up daily) so no swimming with leaves.Food...🤗😋😋 Was great. Well presented and the best ugali so far (cooked so well like Malawi). The seafood was yummy too. Coffee and tea with cake was good. Prices- reasonableService- very welcoming and friendly staff.Will definitely visit again ☺️

Blue Oyster is one of the best kept secrets in Zanzibar. It has a homey feel and its not a crowded hotel. They are clean and very intentional about it. Great food from a fantastic chef whom we had a chat with. Great service and always a smile. If you want to have a chill stay in Zanzibar, you have to go to Blue Oyster.

Very happy with my stay here. Staff is very friendly and professional. Rooms are spacious but no AC. Food and view are perfect. In general, the hotel and the garden are well maintained.

The Blue Oyster Hotel has a wonderful restaurant on the 2nd level that overlooks the sea. The food is delicious and served in an attractive manner. We especially enjoyed the green banana curry. As the full moon approaches, you can experience the moonrise and cool seabreeze as you enjoy your dinner.

The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. The sea view is amazing.Staff is extremely friendly! :-) and the food and drinks are delicious.They have a local person that sells boat trips to the guests. This man hangs around the hotel and we felt a bit uncomfortable as he was approaching was 3 times/day to see of we wanted a boat trip. Also he was staring at us while we were in our balcony or sun bed. Didnt like to be harassed for a vendor inside of the hotel!

Everything is perfect. The ambiance is very relaxing, the staff is very nice and the food is very affordable. Even when one of the cats hotel scratched me when we were playing, they showed me the vaccination records of the cats to keep me assured. I wish I would stay more time

Holy cannoli with your bowl of Stromboli. If you read any of the bad review of this place it’s likely because their expectations were unrealistic. This place is absolutely a gem and should be viewed as such. From the registration to the check out I could not have been more happy with how amazing this place was.You can definitely swim here when the tide is in. You can relax on a nice beach chair as well. This place runs on solar and WiFi is literally everywhere which is a nice plus but unnecessary if you are really trying to escape. I also rented a scooter to get around the island and it’s easy to get back as the signage is pretty clear.I came here after my Kilimanjaro climb and could not recommend this place more as a nice reprieve before going back home.Thank you Blue Oyster Hotel!

Beautiful restaurant with great view and place to relax. Service is quite slow, even we were the only 6 person ( and we made the food order in advace while making the reservation). At the begining chef informed us that day the octopus is not good enough and they will not make starters from it (it wasn’t in the menu, but we asked for if -our friend recommendation), even they didn’t had good octopus chef made us sea food set with it. So for the future don’t take the set just choose from the main course (or you can ask for recommendation). The next day we didn’t feel good.It is worth to mention that all the dishes except the sea food set was really tasty.

Blue Oyster met and exceeded all my expectations of a romantic getaway. Spacious rooms with beautiful balconies and great view of sunrise, sunset and the moon. Local juice, seafood platter and a host of places to see. Had fun snorkeling with the support of staff who are always handy as tour guides and advisors

Terrible terrible food service. We walked out and went somewhere else to eat after waiting over and hour for cold food which came as the complete wrong order. Highly frustrating experience. The staff kept saying a few more minutes and nothing would change. This was the worst experience weve had in the country and we will never return or recommend Oyster Blue Hotel restaurant to anybody.

One of the best restaurants in the area for my humble opinion, I havent stayed here but the area looks really lovely with a nice view over the ocean.

Wonderfull hospitable lodge with delicious breakfast: f.i. delicious fresh Kilimanjaro filter coffee and brown tasty bread. No instant coffee here. And you can escape the sweet white Tanzanian bread. This is probably one of the best designed places to enjoy the marvelous changing collours and tides of the Indian ocean in Jambiani. The room terras with sea view and warm light of the sunrise in the morning are a perfect way to start your day. The marvelous garden with trees and green gras adds colours and provides a nice contrast with the white sand, the well positioned compounds and the sea. I like the architectural decisions that were made. And the care for sustainability and the local community are heart warming. I have one suggestion for the lodge: think about a nice plan (roof terras) towards the village, for the perfect sun-downer... ;-)

We visited the restaurant two times for lunch. It was excellent and the staff was very nice. Also the view to the sea was gorgeous.

Really chilled out place with such a good vibe. Its nice and cozy, and if you dont need a room nd are jus there for lunch, they let you crash for the whole day on their chairs with restroom services for free.

The food took nearly 2 hours to arrive and when we got the club sandwiches they where greasy and had little filling did have a good view though.

Its definitely the place to be in Jambiani Beach 🏖. The service is very good, and the staff is nice. We enjoyed our lunch there.

Hotel is very outdated, faded glory for which you pay the top price. We got a different room than we had booked with 0 privacy. When we indicated that we wanted a different room, we only got it after they were unprofessional and difficult for an hour. After we had to move our belongings and bedding to that room ourselves, we were suddenly not allowed in the room and we had to move everything back to the previous room ourselves. At that point we were done. We had originally booked 2 nights here and wanted to get out of here as soon as possible after the first night. Then they also wanted to scam us by not returning the money for the second night and we stood at the reception for an hour before they returned it. Definitely not recommended and 100% not worth your money.

Fantastic restaurant! Beautiful place by the sea, very nice staff, and very tasty food. First received a warm cloth to clean our hands, then a bowl of chips as an appetizer, and then a nicely prepared plate of delicious food. There is something for everyone on the menu. We will definitely go back!

Beautiful, very simple hotel. Very tasty food, especially seafood and fish is highly recommended. And the staff is nice and helpful too.There is also an attempt to do something about plastic waste. There are no plastic straws and as a guest you can collect plastic waste washed up on the beach with a basket and hand it in at the hotel. I think its a very good thing.

Totally unprofessional staff, rooms unkempt with bed nets full of holes, very simple menu choice in the restaurant (mostly fried food) with very long waiting times (we waited for our meal over 1 hour on the first evening!) .... and one or more thieves running through the rooms to steal sunglasses, pens, phone charging cable and flashlight! I do not recommend this hotel!

Good restaurant in the hotel, prices contrary to expectations low. Conveniently, you can not immediately pay, but only to sign bills for the room. The hotel is trying to provide the guest with all the services he needs: to organize excursions, massage, transfer. We liked the sailing trip with Captain Zap: impressive and quite inexpensive.

The Blue Oyster Hotel is a manageable, family-run facility. It is managed carefully and sustainably. The staff is very professional, attentive & friendly.In the morning, a rich breakfast buffet is provided with a large selection of freshly prepared egg dishes, filter coffee, cut fruits, fresh juices, and much more. We were surprised that even sourdough bread was included in the range.The beach bar is open during the day. There is a wide range of dishes, snacks and, in addition to a cocktail menu, other cold and warm drinks.In the evening dinner is served in the restaurant with a changing menu. All dishes are prepared with love and are delicious.The garden area is very well maintained. Sufficient loungers with a soft mat and even pillows are provided for relaxing directly on the beach.The rooms are cleaned daily and the beds are decorated with folded towels and flowers. It is a pleasure to enter such a lovingly prepared room.Many different tours or activities can be booked from the hotel, depending on your interests. In the morning, captain Zapy greets you and invites you to go on a dhow tour out to sea. Such a trip is simply not to be missed. No unstable WIFI bothers you. Those who want a massage for relaxation will be pampered in a pavilion in the garden.Since we were allowed to enjoy our vacation from Christmas to New Year, we were also lucky enough to experience another festivity ... the hotels anniversary celebration. This day was honored with a BBQ with a variety of dishes and local entertainment on the beach.A varied sea can be experienced through the tides.This hotel is the perfect place to unwind.Asante sana… tutakuwa na kurudi

Very few bungalows directly on the Jambiani beach, where there are 2 low tides per day. The staff is delightful. The structure is easy and very clean. The attached bar / restaurant often varies menus. Recommended for short stays, for relaxation.

It is quite far from all the sights in Zanzibar. No air conditioning, no refrigerator, kettle. The food is monotonous. Generally a compromise option for rest.

If after a shrimp in a cocktail already discretely bad, the rest is not as appetizing.Cook no spoiled prawns should cook on it.And the fried fish was not the best, too, very weird brown gravy stains on the rice, the calamari did not tear it out either. Service staff was nice.My girlfriend would only give 1 star.Were only food, rest I can not judge.
