In Dar-es-Salaam if you want a good beach for hang out then White Sand Beach is a good choice for you.Its just maximum 1 hour drive from main town around 16 Km.If you are not staying in White Sand Beach Resort then you have to pay entry fees which is 20K Tanzanian Shillings which is approx 9 USD PER PERSON.You can enjoy the swimming pool as well which is near to Beach.Also they have restaurant which they can serve the order near to Beach wherever you are sitting.Their will be some good live music.They have Bar for Cocktails and Hard Drinks.You can spend your entire one day and you will enjoy it.

A place where you can relax and enjoy. Take a good view of Indian ocean and remove all your stress. Availability of drinks, swimming pool, band, full security and more other things to make you enjoy the place

The worst resort ever. The choice of food is very bad and all the dishes are tasteless. And the water that they serve tests as a ginger.I get very stressed every time I visit resort. They dont clean properly, especially kids swimming pool and jumping castle.There are also a lot of construction vehicles, they are making a lot of noise, so I feel like Im at construction site.The worst thing is that they cut the grass during the day while all the visitors are there.I spoke to manager a few times but nothing has changed

We had and end of year party for our office ......Just to say it was amazing. The garden was perfect with a breathtaking view of the ocean as you see the sun set.The service was onpoint and the food delicious.

24 hours at White SandsWhere do I even start………..Ok let’s start with the 4 star rating and their positive reviews.When booking hotels online, we all depend on up to date customer reviews for a heads-up on the level of service that can be expected. I can only assume that White Sands have many fake reviews.The room was dated with shabby curtains and upholstery. It could not possibly be graded as 4 stars, even if the room had a well overdue makeover, it would not make the grade.When we went to have dinner, we found a very limited choice, more so when what we ordered was not available. What I was presented with - mutton was so tough it was barely edible and distracted from the nice flavour of the sauce.The table cloths were all stained, and the staff were not at all attentive. I would like to be fair to the staff, and make it clear that a lack of good management and leadership that is the issue.It seems there is no team spirit that bonds them with the goal of looking after their guests and providing an experience that makes them feel special.Back to the room;It is clear that there is a lack of maintenance, with the air-con only working on the highest fan setting and so loud it was impossible to sleep.Breakfast. After the worst nights sleep I have had in years, I was not holding up much hope -This was the best position to take.The breakfast was awful, sausage as tough as the previous nights mutton, bacon I cannot even describe, the scrambled egg was the only nice thing on the plate. All to the back drop of the JCB digger churning the sand.We had booked for seven nights, but after the first night and breakfast it was time to go! We checked out a few alternatives near by, and settled on the Ramada. We walked there first to check it out as it is only 15 minutes to walk.On inspection it was a simple decision, we booked it immediately, went straight back to white sands and packed our bags. We booked an Uber and went to reception. Not wanting to have an awkward interaction we hoped to just check out and politely say that it was not what we expected.The shocking thing is that we were not asked if there was anything wrong, or anything they could do to make things better for us, just thank you and good bye. We took our bags out ourselves with no assistance.We paid for a 7 night stay in advance, on Agodo, which was non refundable. So one night cost us around £750.We had arrived at White Sands having previously spent 3 nights at the Four Point Sheraton in town, a superb 4 star Hotel with excellent standards.We escaped White sands to the Ramada, again, an excellent 4 star hotel with everything you would expect, and service to make you feel special.Here’s the thing, how is it that White Sands can have 4 stars, we know exactly what that should mean, we are lying down right now on 4 star beds, having just had four star lunch with four star service.And just in case the owners or management want to reply, don’t bother, just come down to the Ramada and see what 4 stars look like. Oh and if you have any shame maybe return our money which was obtained through false advertising.To anyone thinking of booking White Sands, don’t! Ramada is advertised in the same price range and worth every penny. We chose to lose over £700 rather than spend another night at White Sands, don’t make the same mistake!

Oosh, I had lovely and enjoyable stay at White Sands Resort. If you think of a place to go during this great festival season just make your decision now. You have swimming pools, Indian Ocean View, Jimm, Sauna, Conference rooms, multiple sites for individual meeting/sitting, full AC, automatic generator which connect within a minute when power goes off and its high secured with multiple smart guards plus CCTV Cameras

Excellent stay!Place needs some bit of maintenance, however perfect perfect weekend gate awayThe 2BHK is truly exceptional good resource for an infant and a toddler.The breakfast buffet was quite exquisite, lunch and dinner are yet desirable.Housekeeping can be done quickly. However maintenance was available upto late hours of the day.Definitely a revisit is required in a few months!

It was a amazing experience. The service was good. We only went for a day at the beach but still had a wonderful experience. The ocean was beautiful. The atmosphere was family friendly. I will definitely go back again.

Worst Hotel Ever, Trainees are abused, Unfairly treated as if they are nothing. Theyre given loads of heavy works without being paid a single cent. Despite that they never complained as they could get into the staff bus to go home and call it a day.Sadly.. Recently the administration issued that trainees should not be getting into the staff bus anymore.Some Staff members dared to say that trainees provide nothing to the company. Seriously, Im just so disappointed. Enslaving them with heavy tasks without paying them. But you refused them a transport?? Claiming that they bring nothing to the companys table?? People should know that most of Tanzanian families are not well off. Were economically struggling to lead a decent life. Many of us will not afford to provide 5000/= to the kids.The company should have another alternative to make sure that trainees are well taken care of like any other staff members. The Hotel Is Big and Well known, Taking care of its staff members as well as trainees is their responsibility.

We had a great conference at this hotel last week for 3 days. The staff were organised and punctual, all required supplies were all well prepared and on time. The food was amaizing, eating lunch with such a beautiful ocean view was so relaxing. Went there for Sunday brunch and the variety and taste of the buffet was disappointing, also staff is rather slow and when we went to the pool the staff was also not very friendly

Big big area spread across the beach. Nice and clean waters. Food choices are great. An entire day will pass by like a wind. One of the best places Dar es Salaam had to offer.

Its a great escape. Peaceful and so beautiful. The beachfront bure was so worth it with the plunge pool it meant one could relax in the room for the morning. But the large pool was also enjoyed a lot too especially for an afternoon cocktail. Really loved this resort and would love to return again

You get the swimming pool facility as well as a nice beach and clean access to ocean. Didnt find the food too appetizing but it was okayish for the price. All in all a decent get away from the city and good environment. Theres also a bouncy castle for the children which adds to the fun. Great place for a family beach day.

There r good bars, restaurants around the hotel... All is generally ok but the food service s/b improved, u hv to wait for a long time n the meals r served as cold... Additionally, there were two wedding ceremonies in the hotel n the distance of these two events is around 200mts; our room#123 was at the middle of them! Guys, we were on vacation, need to get some rest.. !!!

Hence giving one star less.Overall experience was awesome. Must go place where one can plan to go repeatedly.

Its still well maintained, for almost 20 years that I have been going there. Staff are friendly. Can host events here, honeymoon, swimming, fine dining, trip to islands nearby...the interiors are a fusion of modern african, beach & western.

The beach and resort itself is really pretty and a nice place to relax... my only issue is that if you’re a “modest” dresser you probably won’t be able to swim in their pool... they do not allow you to swim in leggings/shorts and a t-shirt you have to be wearing a swimsuit or a bikini and not everyone wears that... but other than that it’s a cute place

So my family and I finally visited Whitesands after the renovation, for a day trip.Whitesands is absolutely beautiful, clean and well maintained.The pools were clean and there was someone around constantly taking out bugs, leaves and dirt thrown in by crows or kids.The beach was clean too.The servers were polite, patient and always serving with a smile.The food was delicious. We enjoyed the tikka chicken pizza, fried fish fillet and chicken with fries. The children had a great time.The adults enjoyed the relaxed vibe and comfortable beds by the pool.Definitely a great place to enjoy with the family.Looking forward to our next visit already.

Amazimg customer service. So peaceful area with staff well trained to cater customers with hest possible service. The rooms are all sea view with good breeze. At night, it gets a little cool though sp dont forget a light spring jacket and mosquito repellant.

In general the hotel is very nice. The rooms are kinda small though compared to other beach hotels Ive been to in Dar. Breakfast was okay. Service is good, friendly staff. Resident Swimming pool was great. Beach is nice.

We went there for lunch and had to face a rude gate reception who told us qe had to pay a cover charge to make use of yje restaurant to have lunch?? The charge which was Tzs 10 000.00 per person was absurd and unheard off.Will advise anybody against using whitesands, they are exploiting tourists.

Live Band, pool, conference halls, beautiful and elegant rooms, the staff are friendly and helpful its my home away from home and the white beach where you can stroll or go for a deep, the pier where you can sit and nurse wine as you watch the sun set ....trading this for nothing.

Nice place to come. 10,000 tsh per person entry not voucher. Food and drinks expensive as expected beer 6,000, tea or coffee 4,000, chips 6,000 and most food at least 18,000. Pool is nice. Main downfall is water and beach is so full of trash. We came for beach but it’s impossible to swim as you will be swimming through so much trash. If you are just coming to relax by beach or pool though it is beautiful and if you don’t mind the prices I would recommend it as an escape from hectic Dar. Suggestion to management is to have someone clean water/shoreline for trash it would make this a 5 star. And of course personally I think it would be nice if entry was a voucher.

The hotel service was great and the staff very supportive. I was only disappointed with the plastic edged in the sand which the hotel would do a better job cleaning. The toilet did not flush in our room so I guess plumbing work is in order. But apart from that, I had a great time with my toddler.

Best. Resort. Ever!!!!! I highly recommend booking a room with an ocean view, as you can survey the beautiful 1 km private beach from your balcony in the morning.

What can I say, you want a afternoon outing? On weekend there is live band playing, its beautiful.If you real want a place to chill, enjoy a sea breeze, sunny and a cold drink. You can forget about problem. Its family place, there is kids games, swimming and all kind of fun kid could enjoy. Its romantic to be with your lover. And friends chat..

The private beach is regularly cleaned making it a much more comfortable beach to dive in at any time. The hotel has good food, you will love the food every time served. The security is great as the guards are always on the look out for any loopholes. Its a great vacation destination so you can never go wrong if you decide to visit the hotel. In addition the beach to the hotel is close to an island which you need to pay a visit if you love adventure.

I loved this place during my 5 nights stay here... The staff was helpful, breakfast buffet was good. The rooms were so spacious with air conditioning. Most importantly the room was with sea view bringing refreshing breeze. They also have a bar and cafe building on the sea in the water which adds extraordinary views of the sea

Great position, relaxing on the beach. Value for money? No water so toilet and shower did not work. Wifi intermittent though it is unlimited. Food in restaurant. Not a good experience. Manager resolved the issues the next day and experience improved. It should not get to that point. Staff amazing but slow at times.

Lovely place to go out for a relaxing the day. Poolside service is quick and food and drinks arrive quickly. We went for dinner there twice. The first time round our tables quests chicken was tough and the steak. The waiter wasnt one of the friendliest people but she delivered a good service. The second time around all was exceptional. The only reason Im giving it 4 stars is because it is a bit pricey and the beach is dirty.
