Great place but now a little neglected (structurally) compared to 12 years plus ago. Good food and drink. Staff are wonderful and forever at your service. Some mosquito control can help a lot as they are now excessive.

Nice place for the holidays, I gave three stars because the manager and the owner have been so mean towards a survivor seller in front of the hotel. The guy depends on tourists to sell his art and he is always nice to people. Since the manager doesnt want him there, he feeds tourists with false information that he is a thieve and they should never go near him. I have stayed and done my research on the accusations for more than 6months, its all false and part of their plan to remove the guy from the public space in front of the hotel. I hate capitalism

It is a great safe place to camp. Beach fab for my kids who love to catch the waves on their boggie boards. Price is reasonable but would be good to have a family price. Adults cost 10usd and kids 8usd so it adds up. Food in the restaurant is good. Service is very friendly. We will be back.

Clean and idyllic, dreamy place for couples. Good service at the restaurant, they even guard your belongings so you can go for a swim. For lunch we had changu fish with rice and vegetables, also squid tentacles with french fries (locally called chips). Many drinks to choose, such as local beers and fruit juice. On 24.12. you could even catch the last room available for 85000 tzs (34€) for two. We arrived there with Uber from the Ferry for 7000 tzs (2,80€), for even cheaper transport choose the Bajaj for 4000 tzs (1,60€)

Best beach experience in Dar if you are on a budget. Ferry charges 200 TZS, TukTuk 5000, and you are at a pristine sand beach. Never crowded, white sand gently sloping into the warm and reasonably clean water (you can see your feet), few algae, almost no stones, and of course palm trees and the usual beach services - fresh coconuts for 2000 TZS, floating tires available for 2000 TZS. Food decent (not great) and reasonably priced. No entrance fee and huts with beach chairs available at no cost. Kids loved it too. Second time there, no regrets

One of the pathetic place with immature manager and staff ... Heard its a nice place so visited but they neither concentrate on beach cleaning and not even good at behaving well with clients especially manager ...who asked us not to feed my 8 month child outside food he was expecting to order pizza for my kid who is hardly having 4 teeth and we argued and he loose his control...

The food was very good but they need to add entertainment by the Beach like boats and others attractions.

Been coming here over 15 years. It is currently a shadow of it’s former self. Like watching an old family member slowly dying. Badly in need of an injection of creativity.Coffee lovers don’t even bother….The food is always fresh……”from the fridge”.Outgoing manager was totally inept, petty and miserable.Still a great beach location for relaxing and swimming.

The beach was beautiful. We ordered Chips and chicken for lunch and it was good, they gave us a larger portion then we expected. We came at low tide and their was so many shells and sand-dollars. And at high tide their was big waves. The beach vendors did to hassle us to much. And the atmosphere was overall family friendly.

Amazingly beautiful beach, relaxed place, good food (I recommend the Swahili seafood curry) — and I can get there from Masaki in an hour if traffic is OK!It’s also lovely to stay overnight in those beachfront huts.It’s not very expensive either!And the staff is lovely, as is the manager.

Nice place and reasonbly good food. Theres a need to reduce waste, plastics and educate customers not to not throw garbage around. It also needed to keep the beach cleaned as the sea brings lots of waste.

Amazing place. Beautiful beach, very attentive staff and if you can, stay in a lodge as the set up is incredible. The snorkeling trip was also well worth it, got to see several lion fish and even a sea snake.

I must have been here dozens of times, and each time was utterly relaxing. The ocean breeze along with a Safari beer is unforgettable. The few times I stayed over night here were equally relaxing. The food and service here were great. I cannot wait to return.

Kipepei is a perfekt place for sun, beach and relaxation.Can be a bit crowded on Sundays in particular.Food is simple but straightforward beach bites.

Set on a beautiful stretch of beach. Good but simple food. No music too disturbed your chilled time there. My favorite escape from Dar Es Salaam

One of the best place i have visited so far not that modern and not old but built with genuine look. It is a nice place to escape city noise. It has a nice view and quite and the beach is spectacular. The entrance is affordable with coupon of drinks. The fun thing i liked about this place is that only drinks can be ordered and served by waiters but the food you have to get it yourelf, make the order at the reception and bring your receipt at the kitchen then when the food is ready you should pick it up by yourself. It is very unique and i loved it 😍

This is a really lovely place to stop and relax. The rooms are very clean and modern- they have AC, hot water, and incredibly spacious. However, what makes this place really special is the level of service each staff member provides. I am still blown away by the bar manager, he is non-stop, smiling, and makes amazing drinks. The restaurant staff are also just as exceptional. Oh, and the food is superb. The only thing I would mention to visitors, there is a good chance of students staying in the accommodations and they can be a bit loud. I hope we will have a chance to visit Kipepeo Beach Village again.

Its a beautiful, clean beach. Great spot for a Saturday adventure. The map doesnt give u the best route to go there though so it was difficult to get there we had to re-route a few times to avoid flooded roads.

Very mice place to stay for a few days. We were here for two nights at the end of our holiday in Tanzania. Staff is very helpful and the food is excellent. Rooms are clean and shower is very good for Tanzanian standards. Only thing is that the boiler is so small, you have warm water for omly three minutes or so. With two little kids, that is not enough.But in the end: great place! To staff: thank you!

Its a beautiful place and lovely its in kigamboni at the beautiful site of Indian ocean in the mainland Tanzania mostly parked on the weekend and it is just near the roadside .the swimming pool is filled with hot water and they have in stock beer and snacks

Great food at great prices, no entrance fee, not too crowded, safe, clear waters, the beach is very clean, great service I must say and they offer snorkelling too. They dont have a place for kids to play though.

Very nice location. The rooms are beach bandas and give the feeling of a wild adventure. The price is decent so overall I have found it a good place to stay. Very nice also doing some activities. I have tried fishing and had fun!

One of the best beaches of DAR.You have to pay a small amount, but you will get tokens for that which you can use for food and drinks.Secured parking and an amazing view.

Kipepeo actually means butterfly in Swahili - no wonder you see lots of painted butterflies on the premises. It is a pleasant and fairly extensive beach resort with simple beach cabins and somewhat more advanced rooms on poles as well. It is also a campground. Bar and restaurant are fairly popular. You can make a boat trip from the beach. We used it for a day stay before returning to the airport, this went fine. They also took care of a taxi driver for the transfer to the airport, this took some two hours over very bad roads.

Get the bungaloes in the back, much better than the huts in the front. Food is surprisingly good, and the restaurant area is really chill. Beach isnt amazing, but if youre here this is a fine spot

Good place for family or friends.

İ paid 5000 shilin for entrance.. Olso when i asked Wifi pasworrd they asked 5500 shilin more for give me Wifi pasworrd.. There were only a few sunbeds and all were full.. İ couldnt find free sunbed.. Sea is very very dirty.. İts not clean enaugh to swim.. Olso there was wave so much.. Beach was dirty with leaves of trees and etc..

It is a nice place to visit during the weekend. However the property could use some more maintenance of the beach area. Also for those coming from town, prepare to cross the ferry or the bridge

Lovely beach spot

I thought it was relaxing and picturesque. Would recommend the trip to Flint Island although the price had gone up from $10 to $50 in a year. Food was good even though we are veggies and service good. I thought it was good value for what felt like luxury accommodation after cycling 550 kilometres and camping to get there!

Nice accomodation right by the beach. Lots of options available with camping, huts, and standard rooms all available.Beach Infront of hotel is quite quiet, but worth being careful and leaving valuables in a safe and not with you on the beach.

Its situated along the Indian ocean and has a great relaxed vibe. Food was nice. Nice place to take the kids or just to beach bum.

The bar and restaurant staff are the people who kinda want to make you leave the under cook the food and if you ask for a change of food the start complaining and say its not their fault . tho the rooms were OK I hate the service of the bar i suggest Just go to a restaurant near by that you we on the maps

This place is nice. The beach huts are a little basic but idilic with thatch roofs and the sound of the waves on the beach. There is now a concrete floor so you no longer get sand everywhere... 1 electric socket per beach hut and a shower is available (1 male 1 female). The huts are in a secure area with a guard. Geting out of bed and going for a sunrise swim in the warm indian ocean lovely..the restaurant is better than the Tanzania average too!

Take the ferry to kigamboni and enjoy a relaxed day on a clean beach with clear water, some tasty food and every convenience you could ask for. Excellent choice for a day or of Dar.

Awesome cool beach ambience....great place to relax ur weekend

The place is absolutely beautiful with unbeatable view but for eating here you have to keep an eye on the bill as they play tricks on the exchange rate of usd and local currency (there would be a paper telling you their change rate at the reception). They would try to make you pay more than how it is supposed to be. I got scammed 1 usd more on a smoothie and they were trying to scam me for 2 usd more for a regular meal. They would still give you back if you confront with them though. Well but if you somehow dont mind this serious honesty issue scam, this place totally worths a 5 star.

This lovely little place on the coast is relaxing and enjoyable. The atmosphere is calm and pleasent. I found the staff friendly and cheery, and the selection of music they played at the bar was a pleasent mixture of genres. Food was nice and had a jolly good time there. This was definitely a nice way to end a month of adventure in Tanzania.

Its best place to be but the management doesnt look good have been visiting the place couple of years am a guide but we crew we are not welcomed to the place crew rooms are terrible they need to do something on behalf of my colleagues we crue we are not welcomed to kipepeo the most places we visit they really take care of crue accommodation in kipepeo are really bad

Kipapeo Beach is my go to place whenever I am in Tanzania. I try to spend at least one weekend here every time I visit. I sleep in the Chalet accomodation which is on stilts. Dont expect five star but you can expect clean and comfortable.The food is fabulous especially the cheese burger and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I am already looking forward to being back there in October!

If youre looking for a budget place to stay, this is not the place to go. The beach bandas are incredibly minimal for not that cheap of a price and my mosquito net was full of holes. The food was overpriced and mis-described on the menu. There are no couches or chairs to lie down in and relax. I was very disappointed with my stay at Kipepeo.

Amazing beach! One of the quality beaches in Dar es Salaam. You can enjoy the day at the beach and order food and drinks at the beachs bar. You can also check in and spend a night at the beach if you want.

Has seen better days. Their bar could do with some TLC. It has a lot more potential. Unfortunately theres a security problem on the beach, have witnessed a violent robbery.

By far the best piece of beach in Kigamboni, maybe even the best in Dar es Salaam.The staff is very friendly and helpful.The prices vary a bit depending on your requirements on accommodation. In my opinion the beach bandas are perfect, and those are cheap.Prices in the bar and restaurant are slightly higher, but the food is good!The road getting to this place is a bit rough, and during the dark hours I strongly recommend taking a boda-boda or bajaji.On the weekends they have strange self-service system in the restaurant, which I dont like.Overall I can really recommend coming to Kipepeo!

Worst experience in Tanzania I ever had.Rude waitress make a service REVOLTING!We ordered drinks come together with glass. Waitress start argue a lot that I will not serve you glasses. Finally she said : GO HOME. WE WA NOT COMPLAIN AS WE ALREADY ORDERED THE FOOD. AND THAT IS NOT THAT PLACE WHERE YOU SURE YOUR FOOD WIL BE OK THEN. After we asked to call a manager she go away and not even told her name unfortunately she have no badge so on the way to find manager we should ask other staff whats her name TO complain. SO AWKWARD!!! NEVER EVER VISIT HERE UNTIL NANAGEMENT WILL CHANGE COMPLETELY.
