Colorful in blue, green and others. Swimming pool and other facilities dedicated to guests staying at the hotel only, access to beach and amazing breakfast. Need to up maintenance of the items in the rooms such as doors locks and lights.
Location: goodFood: GoodRooms: Not good....some lights not working, heater not working, fridge not working, soaps showergels not there...Pool: good....changing room at the pool...very bad...no showers...
The place is really good! the white sand, Music, the food...rooms everthing was good for a perfecct family trip
I was there to photography a resident that had stayed for 4 days with 11 others. I understand they do not allow people to be photographed in the facility, that is fine, but the way the manager handle the whole situation it had a colonial-racist twist to it.Mr. Manager not everything needs you to shout or call security. Relax, this is Tanzania not wherever you came from, with that attitude you will be stressed and frustrate your business.Photographically, the resort is a gold mine. To any photographer out there if you can deal with the managers colonial-racist mindset, the place is a very beautiful.
Relaxing team retreat ruined at the last hour by unprofessional, rude managerOur team of 14 spent 4 nights at Azure Boutique Resort in October 2021.Right before checkout, I called a professional photographer to take a few photos of me at the beautiful resort for 15-20mins. The manager sent one of his staff to tell me were not allowed to do that and we need to pay. Keeping in mind, we had stayed there for several days and the hotel actually owed us money ($120) that they refused to refund since we overpaid in advance for a colleague who was unable to procure a visa. We decided to let it go. After trying to inquire with the manager, he proceeded to shout at me and aggressively kicked out the photographer from the hotel. He then sent someone to bang on the door of the colleagues and asked them to leave their rooms, despite requesting 30mins late checkout and getting it approved in the morning. This man is extremely inhospitable, rude, racist, unpleasant and for the most part useless. If Happiness (a very nice staff member) has to do your dirty work, you never acknowledged us even once, and then you ruin the entire stay with your attitude, what exactly is your purpose? Just bad vibes? If the owners/shareholders are reading this, please replace this incompetent man and promote Happiness. If Stefano is in fact the owner, then I can rest in peace knowing his business will surely close with his fragile ego & attitude.Ok now to the full review:The Good:Great WifiGreat Breakfast selectionDelicious lunch buffetGood Air-conditioningExtremely clean poolBeautiful beach views and trip to Mbudya IslandEasy to hail an UberHappiness was an absolute pleasure to work with. We arranged everything via email and she was quick to respond, was supportive and answered all our queries. The Bad:Incompetent, inhospitable, rude managerNo hot showerRooms on ground floor were moldy/mustyIn need of renovation, there were rusty stairsTwo colleagues got locked in their roomsOverall, it was a very nice stay. Our team also used the conference package for 2 days. The meeting room was comfortable and the tea service was nice.Would I recommend it? Unfortunately, not after my experience with the manager. If any problems were to arise, he would not handle them appropriately. Sadly, he brings the whole team down. I dont see the point in hiring foreign managers who have a bad/racist attitude when our Tanzanians can do a much better job. Hes clearly in the wrong industry/profession, esp evident by him doubling down defensively on any negative reviews rather than using the constructive feedback. We ended up taking the pics in a neighboring parking lot and they turned out great 🔥
Very beautiful sea view, great pool, nice sand and good rooms, which are a bit dark though.
Great ambience especially if you want a quiet environment. Had a great beach front thats not far from the marine park.
It is the coolest and a nice place with a wonderful view, beach and the best pool ever. It has all your needs for your vacations
The place is lovely and loved the private beach and didnt know the Indian Ocean actually moves away in the afternoons :( and since I love sports and food, I spent most of my time working out and enjoyed the nice heavy breakfast which was delicious. Apart from the two times I changed my room because of some fault, I would come back to Azure!
It is nice quaint place. It is located away from the Dar Metropolitan area. This is an older place that has ni e spacious rooms with balconies facing the ocean.
Lovely private beach,Good but poor room service .Good was great, people were very kind...
Horrible hotel, zero maintenance, bathroom smells, everything is falling apart, breakfast not edible at all!!
Great environment. Needs renovations in rooms especially Villas. Limited options for food and expensive too. Otherwise very quiet place which is great for escaping the daily citys hustle
Private and quiet for those who stay here. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel is very peaceful and pleasant. I made a reservation but I have WhatsApp correspondence for the room facing the sea. The lady at the reception was not helpful at all on the matter and gave a very bad room. I had a bad room, but they charged me for a room with a sea view. I definitely recommend the hotel and I will go again.
Old and worn out, beautiful pool, amazing ocean views.Food wasnt good.
Very bad customer service, the rooms have no proper ventilation. Very dark and heavy air.
The person that responses to the reviews is very dishonest. I can not believe the lie in response. Wow. Instead of fixing up the property the owner rather LIE about the property and discredit real reviews because they know you can not reply back. I am seriously beginning to think all of the good reviews are paid because there is NO WAY. Reviews is a way to help traveling make a sound decision while spending their money to enjoy there stay. You have to really use you mind when you read reviews and all of the ones that is explaining their true negative experience the owner that replies gets so defensive and lie. It quite unprofessional and childish. You have to questions the owner intent. We were told that there has been a urine smelling issue since December but they didnt have time to fix. Here is the real post. This has nothing to do with money, I paid for 4 nights and stayed 1 night. I would have left that same day but it was late in the night. Its all about principle, nothing about money. i rather not stay in urine smelling water. I am pretty sure its some foreign business owner in Africa representing African people in the wrong way. Here is my honest review, I also posted pictures on booking.comDisliked · The water literally smelled like urine. We was offered to changed rooms 3 time with the same issue because the owner denied we get our money back. Ceiling had mold, water in one of the final rooms that we were switch too, which was a suite and said to be a high class room, the sink faucet did not work, the water again smelled of urine the entire night in the bathroom which the bathroom door could not close so we literally smelled urine all night as well sleep. The staff was very nice and tried to help, however, the owner/director was unreasonable and did not want to refund us any of the money. We booked for 4 nights and only stayed 1 night. We even offer to at least pay for 2 nights even though we only stayed one night. It was a non-refundable ticket, but we have been traveling to different countries for over 10 years and if we ever had a problem and wanted to leave for our comfort even though booking was a non-refundable Booking.com always helped out and the hotel was accommodating and did not want us to feel unfortunate and gave money back. We want to be very honest, we do not want anyone else to go through that. It was extremely uncomfortable. We could not wait for the night to be over. The property has a lot of potential but the owner/ director in charge obviously will not fix up the place. The pictures are very deceiving.
I arrived at the resort on 23.12.20 and spent a total of 9 nights at this amazing hotel. Other resorts were considered, however this is by far the best choice. The staff - from the porter, those on reception, kitchen and restaurant staff were all very friendly and incredibly accommodating. The resort made my trip to Tanzania a complete experience. The value for money was beyond expectations, and there’s no doubt that I’ll be coming back to stay with these wonderful people. Tanzania is a marvellous country, and those working at the Azure Boutique Resort add to the beauty of this incredible part of the world. Thanks to all those who made my stay a pleasure 🙏🏿
The pool was sparkling clean! Generous breakfast offerings compared to other hotels on that strip. Book the villa! Trust me
It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel. Magnificent and clean territory of the hotel and kind personnel are obvious benefits! There is own beach and a wonderful pool. For those who are mad of their physical shape - there is a gym!The manager of this hotel is very friendly and nice person - he welcomed us himself and offered his help in any occasion. For family holidays and quiet evenings this is a great place!
We got thia consultancy job in Tanzania and didnt know where stay following a bad experience in March 2021 at place around Mbezi beach. We looked up at Bookings.com and settled on Azure Boutique. It turned out that the 3 star resort was a great choice. The staff were friendly and served with smiles the whole time. The Architectural design of the resort literally allows all guests to have a View of the Indian Ocean. We felt was very special because in most places the beach frontage view rooms come at premium price while at Azure every guest can enjoy the spectacular beach view effortlessly. Sunrise and sunsets are breath taking there.Ooh the quality food was consistently good.Nice break was always nice but they need to increase veggies in their meals. The landscaping the in house plants in the lobby were very good. The common areas such swimming pool, out door sitting areas are spacious and clean. And i almost forgot to mention that they have got fast and stable Wi-fi!Simple and a nice place to stay at great value for Money!
Experience is partly based off expectation and after paying $100/NIGHT for a suite, we had pretty high expectations which were unmet. Room 111 has mold in the ceiling and smells like mildew, room 112 has mold as well. The a/c in suite 212 (in the bedroom) does not work well. And the room does not cool during the day. And the water coming out of the faucet has a bad smell and the tub does not drain well. Yes, we moved rooms twice because of these issues and in the end when we complained to the managing director he said, Do not come to my hotel again. So, if youre gonna stay here pay the right price - this is a $40/night hotel and then expectation will be in line with your experience. But I must say, this hotel has a lot of unrealized potential.
Awesome boutique hotel on a budget! This hotel really provides everything you need on vacation - from excellent service and friendly staff over nice pool / garden area through to tasty food in the restaurant. We enjoyed our stay a lot and it perfectly rounded off our 3 week vacation in Africa. I can highly recommend this hotel and do not at all understand the very few bad reviews here. Convince yourself!
Lovely hotel with a great, clean beach area and nice kid-friendly pool. At the end of the street, so it is nice and quiet compared to places down near jangwani. The food is very good at the restaurant. Customer service was great. They were very helpful (much more helpful than some similar hotels along this road). We were here with a large group and everyone had a positive opinion of this place.
The place is great for a stayThe staff are friendly and warm. The food is great however they should increase fresh vegetables and fruits in the menu.
The waiters are less cooperative but i like it
Good customer serviceHreat place for kids also
Not a great experience, almost everything bad said about the hotel is true. Personnel is kind, but not professional. This hotel has to be renovated.
The ambience of this place is just amazing, the private beach is spectacular and the client service is just out of this world, best four days my baby and I had. The breakfast was amazing from 7-12pm. Ubers are very cheap and the place is accessible and only 20 minutes to Dar es salaam. Coco beach and masaki are not far as well. I would love to come back here again, only downside is I couldnt fly my drone 🤣🤣
The Azure Boutique Resort has a pretty mysterious entrance if you ask me. So far in contrast to the sustainable interior design the tranquil place has to offer 🐚
Neat clean rooms...very freindly n welcomn ppl..quite n peaceful place to relax the pool s big n clean..breakfast ws amazing..sumhw food s abit xpensive simple chicken chips for 27 000
A great price for what youre getting...very clean, nice pool, beachfront, impressive breakfast (pancakes, French toast, English breakfast, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc), A/C was powerful, nice water pressure, enough hot water for the whole family. Enjoyed our stay!
The hallways and rooms smell like mold and mildew
Nice quiet resort, very simple sanitair but in general the suite with seaview is as expected, beautiful view, helpfull and friendly personnel, breakfast is simple and does not have much variety, the small beach is well maintained and neat. Not much to do here and you need transportation to go to a restaurant. This place has its own restaurant but it does not look cosy or romantic (candlelight, some music would help), maybe for families it will be ok.
Great place to release stress, my stay was absolutely peaceful and refreshing. The manager and his staff are friendly and professional. The food..... am addicted to their OVEN CHICKEN... now they have figured out who I am lols. I will definitely come back one of these days👍
Really Nice place..calm n clean..Beach was also very clean and pool was also nice..enjoyed alot
To date, Ive stayed at Azure Boutique for a total of 12 nights. So I feel this is somewhat of an informed opinion.Good:-- The food is amazing, but its about $9-14/pp, so---a bit pricey.-- The views are incredible, and its a private beach with space to play-- Lots of space for conferences and families-- The pool is well maintained and clean-- Free Wi-Fi-- Breakfast is free, delicious, and it goes until noon-- Airport Shuttle available, but it was a very small vehicle, and the cost was about $50. (-)Bad:-- Some of the staff seem eager to help, and others seem to be less genuine---just looking to make quick money on tips. Tipping on vacation can be exhausting, as is having to carry money around all the time. The hotel is upscale and expensive, shouldnt these staff already have sufficient wages?-- Hidden fees. Extra bed fee was $18/night, cheaper to book a larger room.-- Exterior sliding doors didnt lock on 2 out of 3 of the rooms we booked.-- Wait times of 40-90 minutes for lunch and dinner. Order food, and come back later. One morning, we had scheduled a cake for a birthday party 1:00pm---it arrived at 2:30 😣Food recommendation:-- Freshly squeezed juice-- Beef Mishkaki here is amazing-- Beef Voronof steak was A+-- The chapati comes with a fancy dipping sauce that was deliciousSo, Id still give it a solid 65%, but I think this hotel has room for improvement in its market and for the price point of $80/night. It would make for a classy executive experience if there was a few touch-ups and especially a more clear tipping policy. (Or add *all* tips to the bill instead of tipping as you go)Update::So, apparently my review is full of lies, which is definitely going to take me down from a 4 star to a 3 star review. Thats not a polite way to speak to your guests, or respond to what was a mostly positive review. This was actual information, so Ill supply the actual folio I was charged, showing 171,000/night. This room wasnt the most expensive offered. As to the hotel shuttle, I cant speak to why we werent offered a Noah. It was a guy named Nassoro who was running the trips for the hotel, and he charged $50 for a Toyota Camry sized vehicle. And no, Im not talking about another place with the tips. I felt real pressure here to tip, especially the luggage handlers who come help without being requested.
Great beach side get away
Amazing place, quiet beach, big pool and good costumer service
Such a gem! Wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Dar...and this was perfect. Clean Nd very spacious rooms...very picturesque and serene environment. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Also met the owner and kept asking if there was anything he could do to make the experience better. The birds were a bit of s bother as one stole from my plate at breakfast! Lol..but the owner was having nets installed when I left. Ubers are 2mins away..10/10 would recommend.
Went for the restaurant......nice Italian food
Love this place its so beautiful swimming pool plus beach India for real its a nice place for having fun
Amazing service. Very clean rooms. the view of the ocean is to die for.The staff is very friendly and polite.Worth every cent :)Definitely coming to stay again. Oh and the pool; clean and lights up in the night.I enjoyed my stay :)
Enjoyed the place, sea sand, best seaview, good food and very beautiful african features. Disliked their regular water problem.
Me and my family just visited azure resort 2 day ago and feeling all unwell today. Too much mosquitos even after spraying the whole room my sons and my daughter who is only 5 and 7 had big bites all over their bodies.I wasnt really happy and would not visit this place again.Mr.Laxman
Nice place to have small family/friends gathering like birthday parties. There is a small beach area though.
This hotel is colorful and wonderful. Price is fair.Rooms are clean with all necessary facility.Staff very helpful and friendly.Food at the restaurant is average. Breakfast is huge but quality is just alright. The beach is great, the access to the sea is very near but with rocks. (its sand beach)The pool is great as well with a beautiful environment. Love it.
The hotel is very good staff is friendly good internet nice breakfast. The beach is not for swimming.
Great quite place... especially over the weekdays..clean swimming pool..nice environment...
Came here for a workshop. The training room did not have sufficient air conditioning on a very hot Month in Dar es salaam. On the positive side, it’s still a quiet clean beach during the week.
Nice place for partying with options of Swimming pool, restaurant and so on. Staff is courteous and helpful.
I love it, but main problem is swimming pool , water not clean and not warm ... . Sea beach is good.and everything is good ideal place for party .
I enjoy this place for me nice beach resort
I traveled from New Zealand for a conference and stayed at Azure Boutique resort Tanzania. On my last day there, Friday 3rd May, I had the tour guide (Daniel Safaris) that I had been on a safari on start messaging me and then turned up at the hotel in the afternoon. Initially the guide had taken my number as he advised he could arrange my ride from my hotel to the hotel where the conference was taking place. As I did not know anyone and he had been the tour guide I thought it was ok to give him my number. However, on this last day he starts messaging and calling me asking me where I am. I advised that I was not at the hotel and yet he still came and waited at the hotel in the afternooon. This man continued to stay here until after 1130pm when I got dropped home by some colleagues from the conference. When I got dropped back to the hotel the safari vehicle was not there. However, after 5 minutes of being in the room, the room phone rings, I answer and the person hangs up (its after midnight). The phone rang again and I quickly turned off the lights in my room and peeked outside towards reception and there is the tour guide at reception with the male receptionist. I call my colleagues and ask them to come back and pick me up as I felt very unsafe. My colleagues returned 15-20minutes later and the tour guide was still on the hotel premise and had changed into shorts. I had to leave the hotel after 1am with my friends and when I asked the male receptionist why he was calling my phone, he initially said that he did not call but that the tour guide did. Then he changed his story later and said he called to check if I was ok. Really? It was after midnight, why would he be calling my room?! And why had the tour guide not been asked to leave the hotel immediately as he was not staying there? Also, why had my Do Not Disturb sign been removed from the door, when all other days it had not been? Also, between the hours of 5.30pm and 11.30pm someone had gone in my room and done room service. Why was my room cleaned during this time? It is very odd. I have emailed the hotel three times and first they replied with the male receptionists story, and it was clearly an out right cover up, as the facts were very different from what I know happened on the night. This has led me to believe that the receptionist and tour guide had been working together. For instance, the male receptionist tried to say that he asked the tour guide to leave and he did leave as my colleagues returned. This is a complete lie as my colleagues arrived 15-20 minutes later and the male guide was still there and even had changed into shorts with no top. The tour guide had been there since the afternoon, yet no one asked him why he was there? Also, when I got dropped off after 1130pm there was no vehicle in the parking lot, when my colleagues came back to take me because I felt unsafe, the tour guides vehicle was now parked in the parking lot. The taxi driver who had brought my colleagues to pick me up, noted that while he was sitting in his vehicle waiting for us the tour guide quickly runs to his vehicle and changes into his clothes and tries to conceal the safari company logo on his vehicle. This was a terrifying ordeal and I was fortunate that I had taken my conference colleagues contact details or else I would have had no one to call. I have emailed the hotel again to follow up with this situation and no reply. If you are a female(s) travelling alone this is NOT A SAFE hotel to stay to as the security is not secure. It is better to go to one of the big hotels down the road like Ramada Resort who have very tight security. The tour guide has since been sacked from the safari company, as they found his conduct to be extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. The name of this tour guide is Daniel Safaris, please avoid any services he offers unless you want to be harassed. Azure Boutique is yet to return my second and third email or even show compassion towards this horrible incident making up a story that I was with the guide.
Dirty, but beautiful setting
Well🥰🥰I love it here🥰😍🤭❤️💕
Place is well maintained and its a beautiful resort although traffic on the way from the airport to the resort can be stressful but nothing that a swim in the pool cant fix
Nice place to go swimming especially for the millenials and kids....
The rooms are uncomfortable , not value for money.
Its a good hanging out place and has nice beaches
The place is good, the food is ok and the price is fair, i will definitely recommend for the weekend is not crowded
I went to the the hotel in march of 2019,It is very old hotel. The furniture is old.The swimming pool is dirty. Many bugs in tge room especially mosquitoes.
Staff, and manager especially, are disrespectfull and unfriendly. Rooms are ok but I do not recommend staying here. You might loose what you dont want to loose. Beware!
Nice friendly colourful African decoration! And very clean. Great pool and nice beach.Good and fair priced restaurant
Absolutely stunning place to stay, wonderful clean rooms, friendly service and piece of own private beach! Absolutely recommend :)
Great location, clean facilities, but poor check in experience. Would otherwise give a 4 or 5 if the check in process would be reviewed and made easier and faster.
Very nice and relaxing place to visit
Nice place...spend quality time...
Nice hotel very good swimming pool.. good breakfast
Nice food... Varieties of drinks... Elegant and cool environment
Its one of the exciting places to go
The Hotel and facilities are reasonable for the price. Breathtaking views of the ocean though.
Nice place to spend a day.
Good swimming pool and sandy beach
If you need a weekend gateaway then this is a perfect spot.. The restaurant offers a wide range cuisine which is absolutely delicious...
Nice swimming pool but to many people in the swimming pool after 5 pm
Its a nice place and its safe and quite
Very nice hotel 🏨
A nice hotel and pool resort,I did not get to enjoy the pool.....the mosquitoes are horrible there they made me feel under attack..lol..I will stay again next time I will bring my insects repellent
Family and I had gone for Christmas but it took the night receptionist 30-45 mins just to check us in. The TV and wifi wasnt working or unavailable. There were too many mosquitos we had complained but nothing was done about it. The mosquito net was also faulty . In all I wouldnt return to beachcomber. Thank you.
We loved this place🤗
First time I have been to such a bad place. not a place to have fun at all.
