Interiors are a bit aged but still fancy with an exotic vibe. The lunch buffet is quite nice with both outdoor and indoor space. Unlimited liquor! The amount of food options is respectable, and many are tasty. Definitely try the desserts and seafood skewers. Kind of pricy. Would recommend it if you were eating out with friends. (No idea about the hotel part though)
Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel is a pretty a grand hotel by many standards. The kind of place the high and mighty in society meet over business deals or simply hangout. It truly is serene with natural beauty. Beautiful gardens. Superbe atmosphere with good food too.
I truly enjoyed my time at Serena. A perfect place to host a business meeting. As its right at the City. With their affordable prices. Its an ideal place for anyone.
Great customer service. Very friendly service. Rooms are clean and spacious. Although its a very old hotel but it gives a very royal feeling to it.
Very serene environment with friendly staff. Welcoming. Rooms up to standard, Clean and neat as well. Good food, gym and pool. Recommendable 👍👍
Very nice hotel and staff were really friendly and kind. Aidan welcomed us and then I found teddy on the floor who helped me a lot, Dorothya and Yeol from in room dining were totally amazing and food was tasty too and finally upon my checkout Rozina did a wonderful job. Location of the hotel is nice, food in the hotel and around the hotel is nice, rooms are very comfortable and they provide sanitizer in all the rooms in addition to the wipes which I found very peculiar because other hotels just provide 1 or 2 wipes. Rooms were clean however the social places have mosquitoes, so be cautious about that. Hotel is well maintained with service and safety oriented staff. Highly appreciate your thoughtfulness and hospitality. Hoping to come over for a longer stay to explore the city and safaris.
It was an okay place. Customer service was good, friendly staff. I unfortunately did not use the rooms as I went just for a conference. Food was good. They do try with the exotic meals. The desserts are spot on.
Nice gym inhabited by loud locals, encouraged by the person in charge of the gym who talks to members across the room. Otherwise a very well run well kept hotel in a central location.
A fantastic world class hotel , excellent service and very comfortable environment. Also at good prices . A definite place to be recommended for any who can afford it .
Some of the most friendly staff I have encountered in the hospitality space. The food was very affordable and the recommended cab company drivers make you feel at home on top of driving with excessive caution!
Best friendly hotel. Very nice homely feeling and the best service ever found than any hotel. The staff are so nice and helpful. Personally dealt with all of them. Nice environment and cozy. They have a gym and a swimming pool..cafeteria that serves delicious food. The food at their resturant is very delicious too.
Peaceful garden restaurant service. Assured car parking. Starting to pick up after the effects of Covid pandemic
Hotel with nice amenities and facilities. Nice staff. Nice location, gym, garden.Rooms are too old with old wc, carpets on floor. Needs improvements.Bar and food a little expensive.
It is a lovely five star hotel conveniently located at the heart of the city of Dar es Salaam. The hotel has got very friendly staff. The sea food there is so delicious
Check in took 40 mins. The front desk just kept us waiting without updating/acknowledging us. Granted they were dealing with another guest.Room was good. Our room was on 7th floor with view of the Zamzibar Channel.
A very great place to visit.. Serena the one and only comfortable hotel i have ever been..
The same 5 star experience as youd expect in any Serena elsewhere.
An old hotel swahili themed hotel. At a good location near city centre and near the airport. Not on the beach but some rooms are seaview. Next to Gymkhana club for any golfers.
I like the fact that on the ground floor there is a place where they put a bunch of old photos and the history about the old tanzania thats very welcoming and someone can learn about the countrys past
I didn’t stay at Serena during my visit, but went for the Spa Massage experience. The staff Anna was super nice and professional. The ambience was perfect decorated for a tranquil relaxation. Even with mask on due to covid measures, you can still smell the lovely scent when you walk into the space. The massage was perfect, it all lies in detail. The massage bed was amazing, the design is perfect to support your lower back so it’s super comfy and you don’t get to feel tired after an hour or more. The products they used were very natural and good, your skin can feel it. And the masseuse was amazing too, so be prepared to enjoy a great time there. Highly recommended!
The hotel is quite massive. The rooms are spacious. But the shower is not exactly a modern one. And I had mosquitos in my room, so make sure your room is well sprayed. The quality of food is great as well as warm welcoming attitude of the staff. The pool and gym are well designed. The interior of changing rooms is very stylish. I also liked the garden area of the hotel.
Explicit!! Over awesome...service,food, sorroundings and everything..we had massive fun
Very spacious and clean, great big lawn, amazing gym, affordable breakfast buffet but highly priced room service. Toilets can be upgraded, sanitary products are rather basic too. Staff are always happy to get a tip
They are customer service is good. The food is great too.
Amazing place, beautiful scenery and great food. The staff and soo friendly s well
Decent hotel. Food is good but expensive. Staff is very friendly.
Very subtle and fancy place for some who wants to escape the society and chill out.
I’ve known the place since it was first built- now with it’s new moorish style the hotel offers a lovely atmosphere for socialising and meeting people over excellent coffee and food
This place is awsome for getting black forest cakes. Quality has been maintained for many years. Keep it up!!!
Gladiola Adventure recommends Dar es salaam Serena hotel for both our Tanzania safaris and Self drive clients. The hotel has great services and the location is accessible from Mwalimu Julius Nyerere International airport, Zanzibar Ferry and those who will be driving from Arusha via Bagamoyo. All our clients have enjoyed their services. Gladiola Adventure also have been using the Arusha Serena, Lake Manyara Serena, Ngorongoro Serena Serengeti Serena and other Serena properties in Serengeti and Zanzibar.
Same great Serena experience weve gotten accustomed to
The Hotel staff reacted very well to my earlier comments and provide me with the room that has almost all the things were missing in the earlier room
Nice food! Best five star hotel in Dar es Salaam
Always good service and friendly staff.Apart from normal hotel services like accommodation, food and beverages, they also have conference facilities for about 300 people. There is an outdoor space for different kinds of events including weddings. There is also a swimming pool
Great service its definitely a 5* hotel
The hotel is situated right in the city centre in Daresalaam, all daily conveniences are located close to the hotel. The hotel is on very green land and has trees all around. Beautiful and clean. There is free WiFi, amazing breakfast, and the restaurants and bars are quite good. There is a pool and gym and sauna also. The staff are so kind and very helpful. I totally recommend if you are in this side of the world. 😁👍
Extremely friendly check in and out staff. Very well managed food and beverage menu, even a few Indian Vegetarian items. Really great view of the golf course and Sea Shore with the ships.Rooms are pleasantly comfortable and laundry service is available.
An excellent hotel. Loved their service
Perfect security with cool environment. Good service
The hotel is close to sea. Huge property. Nice hotel with gym , spa and wifi 24 hours. Spend time near pool and get tanned with chilled beers and nice view.Delicious food and cozy interiors to sleep better. Bar has world class choices . Mr. Joseph is one of the nice staff I met at the bar! Recommend nice drinks comparing food. Mr Yoel helped me a lot too working at the bar. Beautiful hotel to visit. !
Amazing experience .nice hotel
Theres Nothing To Not Love About This Place
Very friendly people and really good food!
Amazing service and food was on point.
Nice city with good ocean beautiful hotels
Nice place though they charge very expensive breakfast buffet without good content.
Spacious rooms. Good food.
.....once upon a time Sheraton.....now Serena......an S Hotel. Nice Hotel
I do really appreciate the General Conditions and Hospitality at all. At your GYM, its well equipped with professional trainers. Rooms are well maintained with charming staff and services. Foods are of high quality with affordable prices.
One of the best hotel in Dar-es-salaam
Had a true 5 ⭐ experience fantastic place
Very good compared to a lot of hotels in Dar es salaam. The service was excellent, the rooms nice and comfortable. The pool area was good. Gym is a bit small and spa facilities could be better but its doable. The salon is small but good, just dont look for a fancy manicure, service is basic. Massage was amazing. The food is delicious even though the menu is small.
Its amazing good hotel accommodation, hospitality, custom service was nice
Best hotels in Tanzania have your visit I guarantee you will have best time in this place. Your warmly welcome buddies
The Security lady and the receptionist were very rude. Imagine we are paying for the venue to organize a meeting and as a host am devastated with their attitude. What about the delegates attending the meeting.. whew!!
The Serena is more than worth of ever Star🌟. The amazing Ambiance, classy decor, mouth craving meals i couldnt get enough of. It was an amazing experience dinning here for Iftar.
Its adequate. Seems clean although the carpet in the room might not be as clean as required. The breakfast buffet is fine. Good tastes OK, but nothing fantastic. Staff are friendly but some of them dont speak English well enough for an international hotel catering for foreigners. Nothing specifically bad or better than average.
Well organised service from entrance to inside.
Food&Beverages in the hotel is very expensive , very bad quality/price ratio
The coffee and cakes and service is amazing
Nice hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. But after visiting this place after 2 years unfortunately nothing has changed- today on 21.08.21 during the breakfast we waited for 2 cappuccino more than 30 minutes and my colleague left without getting his drink. Staff are acting very inefficient. For example- waitress was going back to the bar with 1 order and I asked her for another drink on her way to the bar. However, she decided to deliver drinks one by one, which is more tiring for her and she forgot about me....Instead of having a notepad or something to remember the orders, she relayed on her memory, which failed... disappointingAnd I can continue with the flaws of their staff...There is a potential, but IMHO they are lacking discipline and proper management
Amazing food. Reduce the houseflies. Nice ambiance, but too much dark brown. Poor views from rooms. I didnt have fun while there, I had to keep leaving the hotel for a good time. I even checked out one night early.
Nice but not 5 star
Good foodClean room
We spent great new year eve in this five stars hotel. The courtesy of people starting from the reception and the employees was amazing. The service was excellent. Clean hotel and they follow up on everything. Our flight was at 5 pm. They kindly amended our stay for few hours which is not all hotels do that.I loved the variety of the food. All was good especially the fruits.Thank you the owner and the employees. Your smiles and service made our stay wonderful and we felt like at home .Ebtessam keriaky❤️❤️
Was so nice we enjoy iftar good environment, am so happy, keepitup one day you will be a best hotel in this country, good parking ,security, good workers one day a will be back you again thanks
Awesome and unique environments and services 😍
Huge... quality and nice hotel
Great and an awesome place...Edwin and the team are so kind and sweet..they know how to take care of the guest, its like home sweet home. Always a great pleasure to be there. Asante sana may The Lord Almighty bless you guys.
It is a nice place to visit and spend time with family and friends.
Perfect and cool standard place..
I loved Selena Hotel because they have nice swimming pool good facility Gardens very nice or they have nice foods and nice bed and service there is very very good thats why i choose serena Hotel and Id advise you my friend choose serena hotel if you want to sleep and to enjoy your holiday karibu tanzania 🇹🇿
Located in the CBD area.Room was dump and smelled like mould.I asked for the window to to opened immediately I entered the room and engineer came to do so. Kept it open all night. No service at the pool. Terrible. Staff just watched and did not offer assistance.Decided to order from in room dining. No menu available in the room. In general services and conditions of the hotel is definitely not a 5*So much room for improvement and staff trainings should be taken more seriously.I wouldn’t say it’s worth the money. Heading to Serena Mivumo and hopefully my stay there is worth it.
There fiid is not fine they cook from the fridge so the food is not test at all
I went for a business meeting, though we had all the news about This Corona but what i can say, is that everything was proper maintained i.e, bottles of water and soap, sanitaizer here and there and the proper cleanless was maintained to make sure everything goes in a right and safe way.. the food was amazing, and place is quiet and nice,,. see you next time. I love it.
Best hotel ever
The hotel is nice but the customer service was not good. The waiter took like 30 minutes to deliver the drinks. They billed us wrongly and they had to print a new receipt.
Great venue for events, great food and hospitality
Such a wonderful design and friendly envorinment, however you have to be prepared in terms of budget if you desire services from the hotel
Excellent conference facilities with social distancing possiblity, temperature monitoring and hand sanitizer facilities in these times of COVID-19 pandemic.
Nice place for meetings as well as accommodation. Their restaurant has a line-up of delicious dishes.Whiles enjoying meals, treat yourself to a nice view of the golf course. There is also a pool for the swimmers. Location is very central and easy to reach.
On the border of the city centre, Dar es Salaam Serena is not only close to everything there is to see and do in the city, it offers a great escape from the hussle and bustle of town. We spent a two nights here. The breakfast was good, a variety of options which included both continental and local food. The room service (daily cleaning) was superb! The staff were friendly but at times could have been a bit more helpful. The hotel amenities were with the visit. Big and private gym, nice sauna and steam room, and a large pool.I would definitely stay here again is visiting the city. Although it is on the pricey side ($230) a night, it is worth the relaxation and cost. You also get great views of the city.
Regrettably I stayed here only for only one night as it was the transition hotel for my trip inland into Kilimanjaro, I would have loved to stay here longer to explore Dar es Salaam. The lobby of the hotel oozed local charm. It had high ceiling, a piano lounge on one side, and the reception area the other. The check-in was quick and courteous, and we were treated to chilled juices and towels while we waited. The room was clean, spacious, well furnished but dated. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. We had dinner in the main restaurant and the meal was delicious though not spectacular. Breakfast was served in the same facility and once again the food was more than acceptable.I was able to take advantage of the fitness centre early in the morning and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of equipment in the gym. The gym was located next to the pool and one had to walk from the main hotel building across the open pool area to reach it.Overall it was a good experience and will return to this hotel the next time I travel through Dar es Salaam.
Stayed here into and out of Tanzania on a business trip. The staff was attentive, helpful, and polite. Rooms were clean and neat. They were not the most well appointed or elaborate hotel rooms Ive ever stayed in, but they are certainly nice. Similar to a US or Europe based hotel with a similar asking price. The meals were OK. Id rank them 3 of 5 stars. Nothing offensive, but nothing spectacular, with middle of the road preparation and presentation. OK, but not awesome. The bar is nice enough and we had the opportunity to have a few drinks there as well as a nice business meeting. The grounds and the view towards the water are beautiful. Id stay again on my next trip to Tanzania.
