We were looking for a few days relaxing after a hectic week of safari and hiking and booked Kigongoni - this place didn’t disappoint.The lodges themselves are beautiful - in a rustic style but with huge bathrooms, baths, an awesome shower and a great big bed that had a view across the jungle garden into the valley.The common areas are great, a nice pool (cold, but refreshing!) with bar service. The restaurant and bar are spacious and great areas to relax in. The restaurant is great too, a limited menu and whilst service isn’t 5* the servers are friendly and willing.This is a great place to relax, unwind and do nothing - the location is not easy to reach and whilst that may seem like a negative it actually forces you to do nothing.The one thing we did find strange was that this place was DEAD - it may just be the time of year but there are 19 apartments and only 2 or 3 tables full at dinner every evening which led to a subdued atmosphere. It should be packed, it’s a great place to stay.Will recommendPS. We stayed over New Years and the staff made a real effort to make it into a celebration - it definitely won’t be forgotten in a hurry.

The TOP hotel experience I have ever had. You can see the Kilimangiaro if the weather is good and the hotel, even if not easy to reach, is absolutely lovely.Since we were the only 2 guests that night to eat there for dinner, they organized only for us a candle light dinner and the meal was supreme!!!

Great and safe place to stay. Very friendly people working there. The houses are really nice and comfortabel. The food they serve is home made and tasty. I hope I can be back there someday with my family.

We stayed at Kigongoni for 2 nights on separate occasions. The site is on a small hill, with relaxing atmosphere and lots of plants and flowers. Food is good, and rooms are spacious (though some rooms with higher numbers e.g. #8 and beyond are located at lower part of the hill, so you need to take an uphill climb to reach the reception/dining area/the pool).

Clean rooms with large bathrooms and a lovely central lodge with a fireplace. Great views. The food was alright.

I love this place! After being evacuated from Kilimanjaro due to illness we had a few more days here than we planned for. We quickly emerged ourselves in the art of doing nothing, except for maybe doing a few things very very slowly. Pole pole is Swahili for slow down. Hakuna matata is Swahili for its cool. We stayed cool and slowed down, and this is the perfect place for relaxation. No TV, no distractions, just enjoying doing nothing.

One of the most hospitable places I have been.The perfect place to relax after/before climing Kilimanjaro, going on a safari or just reading a book.The managers, Claudia and Sander are the best.

Kigongoni Lodge is very peaceful place to stay for those who dont like noise.Kigongo is Swahili word for hill so its Lodge on hill

Its a good . A place to relax but the road to the location is still wanting.

Comfortable spacious clean rooms, food ok, nice pool, monkeys galore.

This place is so lovely and not well known even supports a charity just below it please give them a try

A wonderful oasis in the bustle of arusha. Very nice people. Food is tasty and where necessary they can change. The rooms are spacious and clean. Pool nice, clean but cold. Take the time for meals and embrace Polle Polle (take it easy), then you will have a wonderful time.

We stayed here for a few days for an expedition to Kilimanjaro. The rooms are very clean and the food is good and fresh. Staff is very friendly and the location is super. A must for everyone!
