Love this hotel. So welcoming after a long hike. A little oasis. The staff are so friendly and chatty with a relaxed vibe that nothing is too much trouble. Excellent food with a wide choice of meals and snacks and superb buffet breakfast
Fantastic. Super friendly staff. Good breakfast. Good prices at restaurant. Every room is different. They were able to store our stuff while we did Meru and Kilimanjaro. Highly recommend.
We stayed at the Outpost twice--at the beginning and end of our safari and it was a clean, comfortable, welcoming place for a decent price. They had a room with four single beds, which was perfect for our family. The restaurant (Mango Cafe, I think) has good food and isnt too expensive (prices on the menu are in USD). Breakfast was delicious with plentiful options. There is a pool but it was a little cloudy and cold for us. Bring mosquito repellent and use the netting in the rooms. The grounds are lovely. Its about a 15-minute walk into town. The staff arranged a taxi for us from the bus stop, which was convenient though quite a bit more expensive than the local rate (yet less than the individual drivers in the area will ask for as their starting bid). They even contacted us while we were on the bus to find out time our bus would be arriving--great service.
I had such a good time at the Outpost ! I found it to be a relaxing little garden and oasis in the middle of the city. Amazing vegetation. The restaurant and the rooms are really cosy. And the best experience for me was the kindness and professionnality of the staff. I never felt more welcome and at home in a hotel. Highly recommend it !
A forest ambience just (daytime!) walking distance from the bustling Arusha city centre. Visited Arusha after 10 years and cannot be glad enough that I stayed at the Outpost... With the increased Chaos and Pollution in Arusha this place reminded what Arusha felt like decades back.... I dont think I need to look at any other places for my future visits.
Unpretentious, well-managed, friendly. Probably the best quality to cost ratio of all accommodation in Arusha for anyone looking for a convenient location, decent food, relaxing environment, and efficient oversight of services - albeit, without the frills.
Its nice place I recomend people.if you visit tanzania its a nice place to chill
Really enjoyed this home away from home. The beer is affordable. The wine, great, local and super affordable. The food was fantastic. The lodgings were comfortable and spacious.they also allowed to store our stuff there while in Zanzibar.
This place is quite, nice and good for familyThe street is safe, not far from the city center, tourist can walk during the dayBreakfast at this is also great
I went there to book a room. Unfortunately, it was booked out. This is of course not a critic as I was just gambling on finding a vacancy.I stayed for a beer on the pool. Enjoyed the ambience and the WiFi. Once I was done I asked them to call a taxi to bring me to another place to find my luck with looking for a room for the night.I would definitely come again to enjoy the rooms, try the food and be able to give a more extensive review.
There are some problems with water in bathroom. Its hard to take a shower.
Nice hotel with Indian restaurant inside. Clean and nice rooms. Breakfast included. Please use the mosquito net! Its possible to leave the staff here during the Kilimanjaro trek but it is important to list everything you leave, better if it has a signalisation.
Place had slightly larger rooms and set out in a familiar way. Restaurant was very nice and the price for food is excellent . Staff are accommodating and welcoming. Would recommend a stay.
We stayed here on our last night before heading on to the second part of our holiday in Zanzibar. The room itself was nice with a hot shower and comfortable bed. The staff was friendly, and the Indian food was incredible! Our only complaint was the loud group of teens who were also staying there.
I stay at Outpost every time I come to Arusha. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the food is excellent, and the location is good for getting around. The staff are friendly and helpful. I always feel right at home. I have stayed there in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Will be back in 2019.
Outpost became our base between climbing mount Kilimanjaro, a safari trip and relaxing in Zanzibar. We enjoyed the nights spent at outpost. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant offers a wide range of delicious food, we enjoyed every meal. It was nice to know we were going somewhere comfy and safe after each stage of our trip.
Not so tidy as expected, a little bit neglected rooms, specially bathroom. Nice person at reception desk, but restaurant is on, lets say, average quality... We, as a couple coming from many safari camps and lodges, were disapointed with this accommodation and also meal. Restaurant staff were nice trying to compensate our disappointment from food. Prices are pleasant.
An amazing place with an equally amazing staff. We couldnt have asked for more as we relaxed and breathed in the good life. The Outpost Lodge made our time in Arusha a fantastic experience.
Very clean and quiet place. Great for families, swimming pool and beautiful garden.
Rooms were clean, but ask for something in the back. Rooms at the front can be noisy. My first stay there I had difficulty sleeping because of all the howling packs of dogs roaming nearby. I think the noise on the roof may have been from monkeys, but I cant be sure. There is also a mosque nearby that woke me up at some point. My second stay there was much better. I asked for a quiet room away from the front, and didnt experience any of the noise issues I had previously had.
Fantastic place to get back to roughing it. Great amenities, great tents, with mattress. Bar for drinks and eating area, after a long day exploring of Africa, or just a great place to gather together and talk about your experiences of the day.
This place is good for a quick stopover before heading out to safari. The rooms are OK not much more than that. It has a nice pool. As far as the restaurant goes breakfast is great, for dinner the Indian food amazing - other than that the rest wasnt great...
Excellent boutique hotel/hostel - rooms are cool, nicely decorated, and beds are comfortable. Swimming pool is more of a cold plunge pool - but definitely refreshing after a long day. Free wifi in the bar/cafe area, and the cafe has some nice deep sofas to relax on. Cafe menu is diverse but its strength seems to be its delicious Indian food.
Out post Lodge is situated in a quiet area. I love the sounds of birds in the early morning. The room is clean and quiet. Staff are extra friendly and above all, I love the smile of the recipient. Food was great compared to one that we tried outside. I love the layout of the Lodge. Free wifi from Cafe mambo is an EXTRA plus.
A great place to stay at before or after your hike up Kilimanjaro or Safari. The grounds are pretty, rooms are clean and the staff is excellent. Services such as laundry, wifi and baggage storage, so that you dont have to lug all of your hiking gear when going on safari, are great perks.
The place to relax your body mind and soul after youve climbed kilimanjaro. Extremely well put together tropical gardens with lovely plants and a pool to buzz off your brain. Food is really good, especially the Indian cuisine. Only the breakfast could be a little bit more magnificent.
Very cosy place, knowledgeable and hospitable staff are surpassed only by the owners= Ieva and Simon. Highly recommended.
Calm and cool place. But beer is very expensive
Very friendly, relaxed accommodation. I liked the backpacker atmosphere and they have the best pillows and soft beds in Tanzania.
Simple, clean with a variety of accomodation to suit most unpretentious travellers. We stayed in a chalet room, good facilities including sat tv, safe and a fan. 2nd stay was in more modern rooms located to the rear of the site. Lareger rooms with newer facilities. They also provide decent toiletries here.Restaurant, bar and pool area are well maintained. On a quiet road off the main artery from Arusha to Moshi. A walk into the edge of town from here is around 20 mins. Would suit hikers and independent travellers.
Not bad a place for lodging
Lovely cosy little place, great friendly staff as well. Only issue, personally was it was too bright at night. Thicker curtains needed!
Nice and clean place. Good food. Good start before a safari or to relax afterwards. Friendly staff. Nice small pool.
Clean and simple. The food at the restaurant is good. Breakfast is veryyy simple. Pool is calm but was unfortunately under maintenance.
Popular lodge with reasonable prices not too far from the central parts of Arusha. The menue in the restaurant is not as good as it used to be, so I have now downrated from four to three.
After a week of camping, the hotel was total luxury. Lovely rooms and nice staff in a lovely setting
Friendly staff, comfortable beds, luxurious grounds, and a wide variety of food. Would stay again!
Loved this place!!! Welcoming staff that help you in everything. Food was fantastic and very comfortable bed and room
Cosy and quiet, African themed rooms with large beds. Very clean and friendly service. Always the perfect pocket friendly choice when in Arusha.
Awesome facilities and services. Friendly owners and Simon is very helpful.
The environment is nice but the rooms are dated. The bathroom requires work, shower didnt drain properly.
I stayed here after coming from KIA. Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. The breakfast is simple but very tasty.

I am so excited to return to Tanzania and stay at The Outpost again! The staff there are the kindest, most helpful and genuine people you will ever meet. They always strive to meet their guests needs and consistently go above and beyond to make their guests feel comfortable! The Cafe Mambo waitstaff became wonderful friends of mine during my stay. I couldnt think of staying anywhere else in Arusha because The Outpost is like home! Asante sana Outpost staff, I miss you all dearly!
