Hotel is nice and well maintained. Only one thing in the room to be changed is the bed. Its old and there is no life left in that bed. Staff needs proper training, i think most of the staffs are new joiners and trainees. Only Aneet from Front office with an awesome smile is ready to welcome everyone. Food is good. The management really needs to look into the issues as this is one if the best properties in Arusha.

Beautiful hotel as far as workers and scenery. Didnt stay here but did have lunch in Lobby. But I loved the pool area. I would def stay here when I come to Africa again.

Terrible experience. Before the booking they told us that transport to the airport was included in the stay price, and after the booking, they said it was $70US. We had to find alternate transport, as this amount was grossly exaggerated for a 15min drive to the Arusha airport. Moreover, during the stay, we called the reception to ask if we could a phone call from the room phone without being charged and they assured us that we would not be charged. Hovever, at checkout they charged us $140 in phone fees. We mentionned it was an international call. We would not have used their phone otherwise. They would not open the gate for our taxi unless we paid, which we were forced to do. If we could give this hotel a rating of 0 stars, we would.

Spent a whole week working but enjoyed the ambience and the beauty of Mount Meru Hotel. The hotel is on a spacious land with lush environment which is inviting and comfortable. The staff are friendly, food is very well prepared and the room is clean and tidy. A good place to be for holiday or while on business/work trip.

This should be a 5-star review - the hotel is lovely and the rooms are nice. However, we had serious issues with the staff and their attention (or total lack thereof) to COVID-related safety. Staff wearing masks below their nose, and in many cases, not at all. We provided feedback after a particularly frustrating dinner where we REPEATEDLY had to ask the staff to put on a mask / wear it properly (as I was providing the feedback at the front desk I had to ask the employee to wear her mask properly, too). The manager called me later in the evening and assured that he would speak with the staff and ensure compliance.There was clearly some more compliance this morning - however, many of the staff only put their masks on properly when they saw me. Many STILL werent wearing masks properly, including a buffet line chef!!!I dont care about managements insincere apologies. I care about the safety of my family, and it is clear to me that, regardless of hollow assurances by management, the employees do not take our safety seriously. I expected much better from a 5-star hotel.

Stayed at this hotel 5 times during January and February 2021. The staff is fantastic. Always friendly and trying to accommodate requests. Rooms very comfy and clean. Food is really good, but bit pricey (northern Tanzania is overpriced), and menu items are not always available. Internet is sometimes OK to good and at other times dismal. They are working on improving it though.

Overall we had a great 3 night stay here!! I have never met more friendly employees at a hotel!! They made us feel so welcome. This was our first trip to Africa and the staff made us feel so safe and helped us with anything we needed!! The property is beautiful and the rooms are clean. I wish the bed was a little more comfortable. Overall the food and drinks were good and were priced well. The taxi service is quite expensive, so we used the inDriver app (like Uber) for small trips to town. The WiFi works great. I would definitely stay here again!!

Compare to others hotel which I visited here in Arusha, the Mount Meru Hotel is the best!I left with a feeling like I was leaving a family and a place where you can feel like home. The hotel is immersed in a stunning garden. I loved having breakfast in the terrace and enjoy the amazing surrounding nature and the sing of colorful birds.The infinity pool immerse in the garden is a truly relaxing experience.Breakfast [unforgettable the tasty and fresh fruit selection] as well as dinner are excellent, even for a vegetarian like me, I -finally- had the opportunity to choose through several option! Amazing hotel love it and lovely staff

This hotel is world class. Stay here for excellent treatment near the heart of the city. The bars and clubs just across the street are highly recommended. Make sure you venture around the city by foot, bus, or motorcycle, there are many sights to be seen!

Excellent food, comfortable rooms, beautiful views. Our concierge walked us 1/2 mile into the village across the street (thru rocky and muddy streets) dressed in his uniform and spotlessly shined shoes to find a hardware store so we could find nuts and bolts to repair a camera bag with broken handle. He also had the maintenance guy cut the bolt to length and lent us tools for the repair. Exceptional service!

A place I would like to stay even more than a Month.

Its a good hotel. Rooms were clean, the smell inside the room was very nice.It has a beautiful garden and and its located next to a golf court.Breakfast and dinner buffet are okay but itd be nicer if they have more variety of options. Staff are helpful in general, pool bar and pool itself are clean and beautiful. Wifi doesnt work properly sometimes, its a good experience in general.

Probably nice compared to others in the immediate area. It is clean and MOST of the staff is happy to help. Front desk lady not too friendly nor helpful. The rest of the staff seemed happy to be there. We did have plumbing issues in a couple of different rooms with showers not working or drains not draining. Overall, a good stay.

The hotel is great, food is ok! However, lacks parking when hotel has wedding parties. I think they should give priority to guests who are staying there. Sad that I checked out a day before my planned departure date, the management could not refund me the money. Sad!

Beautiful hotel, the room is big with all the accommodation...tv,coffee and tea and wifi.In the bathroom you have ..shampoo, bath gel,q tips shower cap and hair dryer and the tub is big.The breakfast is tasty but the lunch not so good.There is a spa with massage and a gym.The hotel view and the surrounding is amazing.Recommended

This is a beautiful hotel which combines its scenic views, beautiful grounds and lovely interiors with a convenient location. The breakfast is not exceptional but includes the best chocolate source I have had for a long time, as a delicious accompaniment to your choice of pancakes, waffles or croissants. Also notably, some of the fish dishes and the mount neru pizza, available for lunch or dinner, are very tasty. The rooms are pleasant with excellent views but can be let down by a lack of attention to detail in finishing, such as sockets which come apart when you remove a plug, or showers that overflow. However your stay will inevitably be good, given the general ambience of the hotel, and the friendly and helpful staff who always seem to be on hand to assist their guests.

We had the Mount meru view from our window. It was very nice. Nice friendly staff. Breakfast was included in our stay.They do need to improve their bathroom facilities since the water kept leaking outside of the bath everytime. However overall pleasant stay.

Hard to judge this one since we were coming off a 5 star safari hotel experience. We had to change room because multiple items in our first room didnt work and there wasnt the right amount of beds. The bathrooms were ok but the shower was shallow and it didnt have a door, covering the whole floor with water. They had a gym but the treadmill was poor quality and unusable unless you wanted a self inflicting injury. Food and service staff was good, buffet at breakfast was excellent!

I would like to share little digression among those brilliant pictures attached to catch your attention, and captured with professional cameras. Apart from personal who are really nice and professional, and very kind and polite, the gym facility which is below standard is definitely the thing which this hotel should improve so much if wanna deserve more attention from future potential visitors. Outdoor pool seems very nice with amazing view to the surrounding nature. There is golf field nearby hotel for lovers of that game and I believe enough space to hit the golf ball. In uploaded photos are pricelists of the massage service, which was not visible on the room table, so completed list with prices you can read on the pictures as well as little bit of atmosphere in the massage room. Breakfast buffet was delicious.

Great view of Mount Meru from the higher floors on one side and an equally captivating view of the other side over looking the golf course. The staff is very courteous and always smiling. The food is good with large portions. Overall a good experience.

This hotel seems to cater for conferences/private functions over ordinarily travellers. Only one restaurant available last night which was all booked outSo had to retire back to my room hungry..Arabica room cannot accommodate guests of this size hotel..good hotel to visit if your on a diet!!...

Love the view (garden view) excellent staff in general but my 3 stars rating because of the facilities in this hotel* poor gym ( equipment & the gym size ) * poor spa facilities( only curtain between each bed ) with sky high prise approx. 70$* the food menu in the 3 restaurants in the same oneBTW. Not my first time here and still no improvement

Not quite an elite hotel. They didnt tell us, for example, got water was only available in the morning and evening. Even then they were vague on the hours. One night we wanted a hot bath. Wetter ran 20 minutes and only got warm. What good is a huge tub of you cant get hot water.

Very good hotel with high end interior and great ambience. I have been here More than once and the last time I brought my family we received very bad service, there’s a certain waiter who was very rude to us and she even went ahead to ignore us when we called her. We had never been charged to use their WiFi before and she told us that it’s for Hotel residents only and that we have to pay to use it and go ahead to the reception ourselves and get the WiFi details, this was very bad considering she was very rude about it. We finally got another waiter who served us very well and was quite professional. I don’t know whether I’ll go back here again considering how much I frequented it because of the good food and live band.

It used to be very good once upon a time, so I was told. It wasnt bad while we were visiting. The entire hotel is clean, including the rooms. I removed 2 stars because the only place the service was quick and adequet was at the bar and the reception. Service at the restaurant seemed a little slow during breakfast, lunch and dinner. The meal quality was also not as good it was slated to be (my opinion). Some of the rooms had problems with the floors in the toilet/bathroom. The ledge / floor was not built properly, causing the entire bathroom floor to get wet during a shower. Also, I guess because the town has grown and the hotel is close the city centre and residential area, Friday and Saturday nights can SOMETIMES, attract an unscrupulous crowd at the bar area. Although, overall, most people are very respectful of your personal space. Other than that, for a quick stop over in Arusha, whether its before or after a safari, its not a bad place to stay.

Probably the best hotel in Arusha and adjacent to a golf course. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast buffet was quite decent. The restaurant also serves a tasty BBQ dinner occasionally. There are two bars here and I reckon the alcohol is reasonably priced. Theres also gym and swimming pool for working out.

Very nice hotel with high end touches (e.g., infinity pool) the rooms are comfortable, but a bit on the small side for rooms. The breakfast was quite nice and a full English. I as a bit disappointed that only one restaurant was open for lunch and dinner. It was a nice restaurant, but the option were not enough for a four day stay.

An exquisite place worthy of staying. Great conference room, open space for cocktail parties and swimming pool too. Numerous tasty dishes prepared by skilled chefs.

Review is for the pool. After a day of volunteer work, we met up here for a swim. Great pool--it was a nice size, and I love the infinity style design that looks out into the green. A little pricey for a short dip and sun bathing, but it was refreshing and felt like an oasis.

A well set and beautiful hotel grounds..famous for its hosting of special events especially meetings and conferences.. Happy hours can be a bit loud and crowded but perfect for those crowd loving people..good meals too and quite a wide selection of drinks..Famous too for the photo sessions held there and weekends are usually full weddings photo shoots so for those planning on this, Mt. Meru is the perfect place to do it from.

Great facilities, but pretty sketchy about “upselling” and pricing in general. Not terribly expensive in the grand scheme of things, but still felt pretty slimy in how they pivoted from advertised prices to collect a few extra bucks. Worth staying at, but definitely eat & drink elsewhere in Arusha.

Very nice hotel. I enjoyed the swimming pool (very clean and well designed), variety of room options: standard, executive, executive suite with room for both single and double occupancy, three restaurant: mt meru offering buffet, arabica offering a la carte and tanganyika pool bar by the pool side, it host a big golf course.Likes: rooms are pretty good and well designed, good ambience, very nice views of the golf course n mt meru.Dislikes: the Buffet is expensive but not worth also has limited food variety than expected. Breakfast was rather good.

I have been here so many times, since 1994, its Standards and Qualities are almost the same or even better than it was before. Reception is almost perfect and the food is also good. You can view Mount Meru Mountain from the root to the top through your room window.

Nice hotel for tourists

I and some friends recently stayed at Mt. Meru Hotel Arusha, and their srvices exceeded our expectation. starting with the accessibility, professional staff and spotless rooms overlooking the city. The food was also nice and when we went on safari the hotel was kind enough to safely store the extra luggage we did not need.

Perhaps the best place to stay in Arusha for any kind of traveler. Staff are very friendly. Rooms very clean, spacious and comfortable. Free WiFi on site. The chef is great and food awesome. There is a bar with great choice for all tastes

This really old hotel has managed to refurbish in a way that makes the age of it give a more authentic feel to the whole safari Africa theme. The rooms were very comfortable and the amenities are beautiful.

Room is good.. hotel had lots of traffic(which is good). Just that in our room, the bathroom door was not closing, someone came and fixed it quickly. Food service is great.

Beautiful place calm and cool

Decent hotel with very nice views on mount Meru. Breakfast is decent it’s nothing special. The surrounding area is quite boring but you can enjoy at the pool with the pool restaurant and bar which are really nice.

I had booked/reserved three (3) rooms for visiting co workers weeks in advance. On the day of arrival, I went to the hotel in order to see the rooms and ensure the reservation was still valid. Upon arriving at the hotel in the evening with my three guests, we learn that the reserved rooms had been provided to other guests, thus leaving us with no rooms at 2300 hours at night. They Mt. Meru Hotel staff did not even try to assist and had no worry or duty of care towards our group. We had produced the reservation, which they confirmed on the spot, but stated they had no rooms. This is a beautiful hotel, but you cant trust them, even if you book weeks in advance. I would suggest to find a more suitable and reliable hotel for any guests to Arusha.

Overall, very classy hotel however both my friend and I got salmonella food poisoning from the buffet. Ive stayed here twice in the last two years - its certainly the best hotel in Arusha. Yet they need to improve kitchen sanitary conditions. Myself and my friend only ate at hotel resturaunt for the week. We both had buffet breakfast and lunch but different dinners. I came down with food poisioning on Thursday, he on Saturday, which points to ongoing buffet contamination.
