Great view but beware if you pay with USD as they are not fair if you do not complain. It took they very long time to prepare simple food that did not taste much and was expensive.
It is a Beautiful rooftop Cafe. Enjoy delicious food and drinks there. Happy Hour 4-7pm
Very peaceful placeThe coffee ☕ is a must try
Lovely restaurant, prime view in the center of stone town. Best chapati I had in Zanzibar, the 2 waiters I consider like brothers. Very friendly and clean place. Good for lunch or dinner, haven’t had the breakfast.
Best place to relax, food is great and staff ate outstanding
Beautiful view from the rooftop bar. Its one of the higher buildings in Stone Town so one can easily have a view of the sea as well as the town. Love the ambience and the great service of their extremely friendly staff. Its at the rooftop and an elevator is available if youre not up for a climb!
The rooftop is very nice. 👌There have also a elevator. ✔️The Mango Avocado SaladIs a sensation. 👌Also the hommade creamy vanilla ice.The vegetarian Chickpea Curry whas middleclass. The fishskewer death. 🎩The Service whas always friendly. 😆On the next day we have a🚽toilet problem. 💨💨💨💨💨
We came back here twice for the chapati wraps, they were the best we found in all the places wed been in Kenya + Tanzania. The drinks were also pretty good and the view is unbeatable. Note that service can be pretty slow at lunch time, and that they wont take credit cards
Where to start....well I wasnt staying at the hotel but I went to the restaurant at the rooftop. I absolutely loved the view of stone town especially during the sunset. It was not crowded so it was quite calming and relaxing as well while enjoying the sunset. Service was good food was okay and prices are a bit high unfortunately
The house is fascinating as all the Stone town. The staff are very friendly and they were smiling all the time.I honestly loved the place yet what I liked most was the panoramic view.I strongly recommend it to all tourists 😘😘
It was wow in every moment... From when we walked through the door until we left. We only stopped in for dinner in a well known viewing spot for sunset. The sunset didnt happen thanks to clouds but that didnt take away from my experience. We were the first dinner customers and as experienced throughout Zanzibar, the staff are attentive most of the time. The food was divine. We had octopus and prawns to start, and then shared a seafood platter. Drinks were great. View is one of the best.I wouldnt mind staying here as the hotel looks like my kinda place. The roof top restaurant is definitely a must.
Beautiful hotel with great views from the rooftop. Food can do with some improvement. Great place got happy hour with a panoramic view of stone town. Rooms are big and clean, staff are friendly and helpful.
Perfect place to escape the buzzing streets.Tasty local food, good service. Clean.Very relaxed vibe and 360 view of the Stone Town all the way to the ocean.Definitely recommend the fruit fresh juices.
This review strictly applies to the rooftop during happy hour. Disclaimer, I did not eat there but did have a drink and the staff was very pleasant. I sat there for hours nursing my smoothy and water while using their free wifi. I was the only guest there during the whole time. They left me alone while I enjoyed the breeze and the serene view of the city. And when I by chance took my eyes off my phone, one of staff offered me a map of the city so I can learn more about it. I ran into another staff member on the street when I left the establishment and she was super nice as well.
The rooftop was quiet, the music was nice, the waiters pleasant, the view spectacular. no complaints! Would highly recommend. After finding out Emerson was all booked up, it was recommended we try the Swahili House for drinks at sunset. We took their advice and had a great time! The view is a view of city skyline all the way to the water. Happy hour drinks were only 4$ for really tasty cocktails. We had amongst us a mojito, marguerita and another with blue Curaçao. All of them were delicious, and made according to the correct recipe. (Which cant be said for some of the other restaurants in the neighbourhood)
The place was good close to a traditional market and very safe but there was things that makes my angry. The service in the rooftop dinner was awful they practically only work for the tip and before we end one of them said that if we want to put some tips that we just need to put it in a especial box that they give us. We were a big group but when we had to pay our drinks the waitress doesnt know it belongs to, he was just saying and saying rooms some already paid their amount some not.In the room the WC is not working at all Ive used once and it was impossible to stop the water. We had to sleep hearing the water from the WC. They said that there was hot water Ive never found it there was only less cold water. They said that the Wi-Fi covers all the hotel but if you are outsite the reception or the rooftop you can connect properly. The space was perfect, is and arabic, persian style well mixed. There are two lift and a sauna.
Beautiful place, loving people, very charming and kind, sweet hearted I love it so much. I recommend you to stay. Rooms are so clean 5* experience, the chef are amazing good.
We stayed just one night at the Swahili House, but we didn´t enjoyed the time. The food is very bad and the service also. The toilet flushing in our room didn´t worked and we only had warm (or hot) water in the shower. It wasn´t repairing, although we asked for it. We also did an spice tour, which the hotel offers us. It was interesting but in my opinion a good planed tourist rip-off!
Rooftop restaurant with nice wiew.Snapper I ordered had nice taste, but came with French fries, so maybe first ask which side dish the planning to bring. Not very attentive and welcoming staff, half through my stay the waitress came that she going home and wants my bill to be settled and then to continue with my order and pay again to someone else..
One of the beautiful settings in Stonetown. The roof top terrace and pool are a must
Just went for some midday drinks. Peaceful, nice breeze and pleasant service. Rooftop view and theres an elevator.
A great rooftop. Rooms and bathroom very good. Food great. Great cocktails. I enjoy it very much
Lovely hotel, the rooms are great as well as the staff, the rooftop is perfect and the restaurant serves great typical food like curries and seafood
Restaurant visit only. Good food & drinks in a fantastic rooftop location overlooking Stone Town. Well worth it.
Oh there is a beautiful eating place on top of the building with a beautiful view of Stone town. I loved this place.
The only place I stayed in Tanzania with air conditioning in the room. Nice break from the heat. Nice place to stay in Stone Town.
Great place, nice top resturant and bar (happy hour is the best)

We stayed one night with our whole family (there were 7 of us)The rooms are very spacious, the rooftop very pleasant with its 360 ° view.We also had a good dinner and breakfast.Special mention to Susan at the rooftop who was kind, helpful, and smiling as much as possible!
Very nice, quaint hotel with large rooms. The roof terrace is amazing. You can spend wonderful hours there.
We stayed at this hotel for one night. A simple event invites us to inform you to take all your precautions: during the 30min of our breakfast, our room was visited and the staff stole our money hidden in a bag (among 4 bags). At the same time, our children passed a member of the staff who mentioned that we were on the roof top. Everything seems to believe that the staff was organized. Nothing more to add, if the pleasant roof top… :)We stayed at this hotel for one night. The upstairs restaurant has a generous view of the city, and the food is very good.
The role is very pleasant, especially when it rains ^ ~ ^
Nice roof terrace. We just had a drink.
We were only there for one night and we had breakfast and dinner there.Breakfast can be improved, but dinner is very tasty. The rooms are not very spacious but very comfortable. Located in a very good place of the city although pedestrian.Very friendly staff recommendable
Hotel located in a historical hotel with charm but with faults in maintenance and insufficient service. Failures in the breakfast service (no dishes, glasses, enough cutlery); internet and only on the terrace or at the reception. I had to raise money and pay in cash! You do not have to drive to the hotel.
I can not say anything to the hotel myself. The 5 stars are for the beautiful restaurant on the roof. It has a beautiful view over the whole city. The food is delicious and very cheap. In the evening there is also a happy hour where you should definitely try the delicious cocktails. In my opinion, you should go in the evening to enjoy the sunset and then delicious food.
There is a good restaurant here. Beautiful view from the terrace of Stone Town. I didnt sleep. But the meal is tasty. Cold beer. Great service. I would recommend. There is a good restaurant here. Here it was extremely chillig👍. Youre sitting over the rooftops of Zanzibar and you can really let it go. It serves ice-cold drinks and delicacies. You can reach the roof terrace with the elevator and there are even clean toilets up there. The staff is very helpful and not as intrusive as anywhere else in Zanzibar. I give six, because the team and everything else deserves it.
An original hotel, the rooms are in themselves a real micro Arabian palace. A rooftop terrace that serves great food and especially a view of Stown-Town at 360 °. The only problem is that electricity is limited when on the city network, fortunately they turn on a generator for the evening. To experiment absolutely.
A historic hotel, located in the center of the old city, so taxis cannot get there and you have to carry luggage 500m.The room (number 6) was in a deplorable state, because in addition to the poor state of conservation, the hygienic conditions were unacceptable. The towels were gray and stained, the toilet bowl (see photo) had traces of dirt from many customers.Inadvisable in all respects. Even the elevator was broken
We did not stay at The Swahili House but we had cocktails on the rooftop at the end of the day. This is a place to visit Stone Town! 360 ° view of the whole city, beautiful sunset, cozy atmosphere and happy hours from 16h to 19h, what more?
Excellent. 50 dollars single room. I checked 10am without problem. Accept all credit cards and make the charge directly in dollars. Includes ample breakfast on the hotel terrace. Good views from there to Stone Town. Fourth broad. Immense bathroom with jacuzzi. Charming hotel with architecture of the time. No wifi in rooms but in common areas. No Tv.Tariff to / from airport 10 dollars.
Spacious rooms that once had to be better. Old and impractical furniture.Bathtub, which imitated a public fountain, in the middle of the room.Wifi only on the hotel terrace and at reception.
I havent tried the hotel. But the restaurant is not something I will get back to. There are beautiful views from the top. But the food is ordinary. I even got tuna with rice where the portion was quite small and my spicy rice was the idea to taste my fish tasted asian with sweet and sour sauce and they are slow to come right even if you get it cold! It was fun enough our city guide recommended it. And fun, there were several guides who recommend the place. Two stars because there was great view.
After a tour of Stonetown, it was VERY GOOD to have a cold beer with our rooftop guide in The Swahili House restaurant. Very nice staff👍 Cannon view of Stonetown❤
Room No. 2 is beautiful, spacious. Staff are very nice. Restaurant on the roof is very nice, food ok. Prices reasonable. Very good all-round view from the roof on Stone Town.
Nice rooms to the food on the roof terrace does not stop. Washing your clothes is expensive
Review only for restaurant and roof terrace!Delicious food, good drinks and wonderful views. Very attentive and friendly staff.
Nice view from the terrace
From the outside inconspicuous, but inside top. The terrace on the roof, with the view is just great. Nice staff, civilian prices.
