Terrible service, terrible hotel, terrible manager!! not safe at all. I stayed for one night on 30th December 2021, and My Camera Canon D5300 was stolen at the reception on the day of my arrival. I never get any assistance from the hotel, the hotel manager never picks his phones nor reply to texts messages. All they do is lying even to the police and try not to take any responsibility.Almost three months have passed by,and i havent got any answers from them if Im ever going to find who stole my camera at their reception.I would recommend that hotel to anyone AT ALL!! Matress is fine and we slept well.The breakfast was really weak. A small banana and a slice of bread. Impossible to adapt to guests requests/diet.Moreover, we were missing 7$ to pay the boat. At the reception it was suggested to exchange there for 20.000 shilling. It means 2850tsh for 1$ : 24% commission!!!If you just want to sleep that is fine. If you expect a customer service, lets forget this place.

Practical because its in the center of Stine Town. Very old and not a beautiful place. Very uncomfortable beds and very hot place. A lot of stairs.

What a terrible place. They just gave away our booking without notice... completely useless!!! The staff are rude and unhelpful, they dont care about guests. Dont waste your time.

Great value for the money. Its very close to everything you need to visit in Stone Town. Luckily we had room on the first floor, there are soooo many steep and narrow stairs.Good view from the rooftoop bar. You kinda get the idea and orientation for the small streets in that part of the city.Basic breakfast, eggs and toasted bread, watermelon and orange.Staff very friendly, showed us around what we needed, exchanged money for us with a good rate, didnt try to rip us off, helped us with the bags.For a short stay - day or two, its amazing deal.

I stayed there one night in twin room. For that kind of money it’s pretty good.Pros: nice rooftop, close to the centre and ferry, friendly staff (made us a packed breakfast before we had to leave early), clean room.Cons: shared bathroom/shower needs a refreshment, generally a bit old feeling.Good if you need a cheap place to stay in Stone town or catch a ferry.

Good location to explore Stone town. Friendly staff. Nice rooftop for breakfast. The building is old and so are the beds and mattress. Very noisy: scooters, pigeons, mosque... dont expect to get much sleep. For me the worst was this little parrot suspended above the stairs who looks so miserable in his cage. Overall: overpriced for what you get.

Booked a double room. Nice bed and nice clean bathroom. Breakfast could get better :). I booked via booking.com and paid 150USD for 4 nights. Rooftop bar pretty ok for a chill and a Kilimanjaro in the evening. Nice crowd to talk to.

Great value for money. Fantastic location in Stone Town. All attractions are walking distance away. Dorms have no AC, just the ventilators, which can be challenging in the summer, but its not too bad.

Great value for the money! Breakfast on the rooftop with great view to the ocean and the old city. The rooms are clean and quiet. Location is excellent, close to the seaside.

Room was big with mosquito nets, roof top terrace and free breakfast were great. However, bathroom is very old and shower does not have water every day and be prepared to have an early start since the street noise is pretty loud.

Loads of stairs to climb, particularly to the the top rooms and rooftop lookout which I suppose is worthwhile once up there as the view is ok. Booked a double room which was small. Bed was really uncomfortable. No sheets supplied apart from what looked like a half size table cloth across the bed. Had to use this as a cover. Toilet did not flush properly so always smelly. Breakfast was not good at all for the price you pay.... A few pieces of bread and an egg.Paid 65,000tsh for a room I thought was only worth half that. Also my room was directly below rooftop lookout which had wooden floor so struggled to sleep with people talking, laughing and stomping until late hours..Very disappointing.Good views from upstairs tho.

This place is more of a warehouse than a hotel. It looks like messy student dorms until you reach level 3, where common area becomes eerie looking . Rooms were hotter than outside and cluttered - beds in the middle of the room and the view through a window is a dirty wall 3 meters away. Service was robotic and they even tried to trick us for couple dollars. I really dont understand the rave reviews for this place. Breakfast on the roof and good strong warm shower were the only things saving this place from a bad review.

What a GEM... Very close and walking distance to everything in Stone Town. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The roof was AMAZING!!! You can see the whole Stone Town. Free fresh fruits and breakfast on the roof, cant beat that. Would highly recommend this place.

Stairs case is long and they sell beer so drunkards can be common.Hard to find even on map without local guide due to inside similar alleys.

This is cheap but the building is dilapidated and very old. The rooftop is mainly occupied by birds. The bedding is small and the air conditioning almost non-existent. However the view from the roof is nice and the hostel is not too far from Forodhani park.

If you dont expect much you wont be disappointed. The breakfast could have been a bit more substantial, but the view on the roof partially brought it out. The wifi was unfortunately not that good, often not available for a long time, but not so bad when you are mostly on the move.So far everything was clean. Room equipped with fridge and also working air conditioningThe staff or the host, who was always there, was super friendly and organized some excursions for us and also a transport to our next place at a relatively low price. Can recommend this accommodation anytime

Were in January 2021, a terrible place, very dirty. For this money, you can find a normal hotel. We had to stay there for one night and it was difficult to wash and sleep on the strange shabby-washed, smelled damp, bed linen. A very unpleasant place with terrible toilets, dirty, pouring water (plumbing is broken), broken shower, unpleasant to touch the door handles, etc.But there was one plus, beautiful views of the city on the roof, there are breakfast tables.I do not advise. Doesnt spoil his rest. Look for another place.

Excellent option to stay near the main attractions of Stone Town, the ferry terminal, the waterfront and in the middle of the passages full of nooks and crannies to discover.We stayed in one of the top floor rooms and the view is great. The room is very nice and comfortable as well as the shared bathroom.The neighborhood is a bit noisy because of the prayers that are heard all the time, but it is part of the grace of the place.Highly recommended!

The Hostel is in the heart of Stone Town and within easy reach of the citys main attractions. The staff are super attentive and gave us valuable tips on what to do and where to eat. It is located on a high floor and has a roof top with a view of the whole city. It is very simple but everything very clean. We stayed 3 nights and found it good value for money.

Affordable youth hostel. Quite generous breakfast included in the price. Rooftop overlooking the town of stone town and the ocean, very well placed!

The place is quite peculiar, but amazing! It is called like that because it grows as one goes upstairs! Not recommended for heavy bags / backpacks (although there is someone who helps you upload them) since you can be between the 3rd and 5th floors. The terrace is above the rest of the techis and has a super interesting view of stone town. The incredible service, all very attentive and helpful. It is not a place suitable for wheelchairs.

Hostel in passing. In my case, the room did not give much desire to sleep in it, it was old and the mosquito net was broken. Its very run down in general. The bathroom is shared and has hot water.The location is excellent in the heart of Stone town.Breakfast is served on the terrace with spectacular views of the city, that is very basic.

Everything is ok. Modestly, but clean, etc. You can order trips with them, they have prices better than those proposed in the city (its still worth haggling).

To be honest, we accidentally found this motel on the last night of our stay in Zanzibar, the only advantage was the air conditioning in the room, however, the lack of water, cockroaches in the corridor, ants walking on the walls greatly lower the assessment of staying in this place, honestly I do not recommend this place, read the opinions because often everything in the pictures looks different than it really is.
