We booked two nights here. When arrived they say to us « our booking is cancelled ». We go check on booking.com , it is obviously not. They always keep saying they can offer us a room in their other hotel. After talking 30min, we get the trick : they overbook the nice hotel in the city center, and then try to send the extra people to the hotel far from the city center.

Nice Hotel and foods. It is just that the prayers of the mosque is so loud that you won’t be able to sleep. It is like an early alarm but who likes an alarm on a vacay?All is fine maybe not just the location?

Let’s get one thing clear: this is not Hilton in Malibu Beach. This is Africa, so yeah, there might be a lack or two, a few kittys in the restaurant and a mosque pretty close calling for prayer in the morning since you stay in a bigger town in a muslim country. But overall, this is a nice, clean and well run hotel with a gorgeous garden and a bunch of nice people trying to serve you the best they can.

The owner is simply a thief. The receptionist hasused my card for an amount of 85 USD claiming that the transaction did not go through because of the lack of network and so I finally paid in cash for the night. A few days later, I discover the debit of my card and refuse the reimbursement claiming that none of its banks have received payment. In addition, he uses the bank terminal of another hotel spice palace hotel for this hotel. RUN RUN RUN . There are much better hotels for this STANDARD of price.

Very nice location!! Central in stone town, rooms are nice and comfortable! Good outside areas to relax and bar service! Breakfast was good! The only bad thing was some bad smell in the room from pipes, not sure if it was temporary or is frequent.

Unfortunately booking.com didnt give information about late check out and this place ask for so much money to stay until 5 pm. Even though is empty at the moment because of covid. Of course this place refused when booking.com asked them to do refund two days before I arrive. So had to do through my online bank to get the money back. Been here for one month, 1st time that this happen with a hotel. Be careful guys !

This is a budget hotel so dont expect 5 star service, food and hygiene. But location is excellent, wifi is fast enough and rooms have aircon.

Perfect little city centre spot, ideal for those who want a base to see around Stonetown, Zanzibar. Although finding it initially just as you arrive can be a bit daunting, the location itself is set in a beautiful little hidden garden with a great staff and decent food. (Notable mention - Calvin at the restaurant is very welcoming and with a great choice of music too!) Slightly disappointed with the rooms, albeit spacious the towels and bed linen was a bit dirty. However. would mention this when booking again in the future as we would definitely come back to Antonio Garden.

Lovely hotel for the average budget. Very clean, good bathroom and pool is a big plus. They have as well very good SPA- my boyfriend went for treatment and was very happy with the service provided. Internet connection could be better.If we speak about minuses, then we didnt really enjoy that during the day, when people are enjoying pool and sunbathing relax time, hotel workers are doing very loud construction work, it would be more professional if you isolate the area from the people and then do your renovations, otherwise, it is very loud and not enjoyable.

Perfect place to stay when in Zanzibar stone town. Not in your usual hotel location and thats where the trick lies. The alleys, close to the slave market and walkable distance to the beach.

The hotel was okay. We were transferred from Spice Palace Hotel where the original booking was made and they said this was their sister hotel. It was not clear what had happened to the earlier booking. The hotel did not seem ready for us, so it took quite a while for rooms to be confirmed. There was hot water in the showers, rooms were clean though my room was missing shampoo and conditioner. For breakfast, the waiter seemed overwhelmed and we had to ask for cutlery or coffee cups every morning during breakfast as again it appears they were unprepared in setting up for the number of guests they had. However, the hotel is cosy enough and good value for money if your only business is to shower and sleep and spend your day time elsewhere exploring Zanzibar! Its centrally located for all Stone Town tourist attractions and eateries.

The guy in reception wasnt as polite on checking in, yet Id paid a huge amount... The rooms arent bad either. The only issue I have faced is the sockets, they seem to be knackered, resulting in my gadgets not getting charged 😞. There was a decent amount of variety on the breakfast menu, but juices werent as appealing, and had a very limited variety. The other turn off was the laundry charges!

Hands off, stay away, cockroaches!!!We arrived late and quickly checked the room, which seemed fine at first.When we came back after dinner, there were cockroaches wandering around in the room!!! When we complained to the staff and asked for a new room, they just shrugged and told us to talk to the manager in the morning.In the morning, the manager offered us to drop the 2$ city tax as compensation!!!This was really one of the worst experiences I ever had in a hotel...

You can do better! Day stay possible BUT only let you stay until 6pm, swimming pool isn’t that great either. Reception can’t even get Wifi working. Day stay charged for 30 dollar (that is almost the same fare as staying the night). Better avoid.

Nice staff. Rooms are not the best. Sometimes strong smell from the sink in the bathroom. Location is good to walk trough Stonetown. You get what you pay for, finally no 4 stars hotel, but you can stay here for a small Budget. These are just my personal thoughts, maybe others think different.

Lovely little hotel, good location to explore Stone Town. Rooms were clean with air con, decent shower and most comfortable bed during our stay in Zanzibar. Wifi seemed to work fine in all areas of the hotel. Staff were all very friendly, especially the young guy working in the restaurant. Would stay again anytime when in Stone Town.

I would give it a 5. If not for the NUMEROUS CATS around the Poolside BAR. Begging and Fighting for food. Its extremely annoying.

Nice place, staff and breakfast BUT 2 weeks later we are still waiting for the reimbursement of a part of our stay. Ottman at the reception promised us that it wouldn’t be a problem after speaking to the Ukrainian owner, then they advised to contact booking.com to modify the booking and the hotel finally rejected our reimbursement once we had left the premises. Please note that there was no internet in the room (had to change of room and even there the internet was really weak compared to other places on the island)

Nice place in the center of Stown Town, near Jaws Corner. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Good breakfast!

We didnt like Stone Town. Not at all. Awful place. The only place I wanted to be quickly back was this place. This hotel has a nice garden with small pool to sit around and relax. Away from noisy, dirty streets, all people trying to stop you and get some money from you on every step. Without this garden it would be probably just a typical hotel or hostel to stay, but garden makes it a bit special.They have nice rooms, good bar and restaurant too.

This is a nice hotel coming with a good recommendation.The staff were all very welcoming and friendly and we enjoyed sitting in the garden / outdoor area for food and drinks. This was a main highlight of the hotel for us.The WiFi isn’t so fast which was a shame but the rooms have the essentials and are well looked after.Good food and friendly service so yes I’d recommend. We enjoyed our stay!

Centrally located in Stone Town amongst all the sights and landmarks.Features a very nice garden restaurant with many varieties at reasonable prices.WiFi was fast and staff are very welcoming.The pool is small but wasnt working due to maintenance when I was there.Fairly priced compared to what it offers.

Superb oasis in the middle of Stone Town, with clean rooms and nice garden. Nice bar concept and good food served at the restaurant, but big minus for the serving: took more than an hour for some finger food to be served, at a non peak hour and with quite no one around. Also, the transfer to the airport that the hotel proposes is double than an outside taxi (totally safe).

Arrived at the hotel and went to pay and was told it is additional 5% charge which we just accepted. Show the room which was on ground floor next to reception. Room was dark and stunk of mould. Asked for another room and was give the room next door which also stuck of mould. Was told they are booked out. Asked if they could move is the next day as we were staying for 3 days, they said they would try. Could hardly sleep that night as ground floor rooms have people taking and walking past all night and day.Next day we had to checkout by 10 am and wait until 2 pm to get another room. New room was on 1 st floor which was nicer.The breakfast was good and people in restaurant very nice. We ate dinner in restaurant a few nights and lunch which was good.Each room didn’t have towels so we had to ask. Big glass shower door fell off during our stay, luckily we were strong enough to prevent it from falling to ground and smashing.Overall decent hotel but over priced especially if you get ground floor mouldy rooms.

This hotel is new, located in the heart of stone town near the slave Market. Room are spacious and well decorated. Bathroom are also spacious with modern amenities. Good food, good ambiance a D services. Great value for money compared with other hotels of the same price range. I recommend it to everyone and would definitely stay here again

The staff at this hotel were amazing! The airline lost my luggage and the hotel staff went out of their way to help me retrive it. The hotel is in the middle of stone town so its perfect if you want to explore the town. The rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was also good and offered different breakfeast options.

We only stayed for drinks.Great place, peaceful garden, fun notes in the toilet.When we asked for the bill we didn’t got the recipe, he just said how much we have to pay (+1000 shillings extra😁)

This shelter was wonderful from the location. We had landed on Zanzibar and wanted to have a look at the famous night market. For this the location was perfect. Everything quickly accessible. The staff was very helpful. The bar was simply super. The breakfast could be better.

Lovely hotel. Friendly inviting. Theres a 5% charge for use of card which wasnt specified at the time of booking. It appears that in order to maintain competitiveness they just pass this cost on to the customer. However they do take dollars. Food was ok, but not great. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Cocktails are a bit more expensive than some of the nice restaurants around. Wifi was ok. Room servicing was exceptional and the little details made it welcoming. The kitchen in the room was poorly equipped. But I guess if you asked, it would be improved. The staff were great and helpful. The breakfast chef needs a good non stick pan to do eggs and his spatula looked very well used. Eggs sunny side up were a real problem with the tools provided but he did his best. Thanks for a pleasant stay. I would recommend.

The hotel is right in the City centre and this is a plus, at the back they have a nice garden and a restaurant. Rooms are nice but our smelled of mold which is a bit of an issue if you stay more than one night. Staff is nice and friendly. Overall good experience.

Nobody at reception told me about the switch to use hot water from shower. Since hot water was not coming, I complained to the reception. But the staff just called another maintenance staff without telling me about the switch. I lost nearly 2 hours since the staff didn’t understand my request. The maintenance staff did cleaning of the drain which was almost plugged. The room was good, and the staffs are basically kind. But nevertheless, let me give 2 stars.

It was really a pleasant stay at Antonio garden hotel. Very well maintained with good garden view restaurant. Surprisingly cook has served us Indian food on our demand and it was delicious.. Rooms were clean. Good room service.

It was an amazing stay, I enjoyed it a lot. The staff is friendly and helpful, and you can see they enjoy their work. Shout out to Liuska the manager.The breakfast was good, and I kept coming back to the hotel restaurant, the food was good! WiFi was mostly fine, enough even for YouTube and Netflix — only in the rooms, had some problems connecting on the balcony and in the garden. Still, already awesome for Zanzibar.Good pressure and really hot water in the shower. The bed was comfortable, I would say, on the softer side, but not too soft. And all the little details — lovely map of the world, quotes here and there, “Easter eggs” hidden throughout. The design is top notch.I wish I discovered this hotel earlier on my trip, it’s a GEM, especially comparing to similar hotel listings. Thank you ❤️PS. Initially I booked another hotel, but I was relocated here by the administration. Check the rates on booking/other platforms if that happens not to overpay.

Incredibly helpful and kind staff! Really good value hotel in Zanzibar with good food. Breakfast is mostly included in the price. Clean rooms, nice design. Free wifi in hotel. They have restaurant, massage, swimming pool! I would go back again if i ever visit Zanzibar again.

I would give a 5* But unfortunately there is no vehicle accessibility hence a short walking distance but the Customer Service is recommended..So,I say is a place to stay when you looking for a luxurious Accommodation and still affordable

It is middle of the town. You wont see any city view or, definitely, ocean view. It is surrounded by buildings. Swimming pool looks ok from the picture, but it is very small and surrounded by walls.5 stars: staffs kindness, tour concierge, breakfast, bar (it is very hard to find alcohol in Stone Twon, but it provide Kilimanjaro beer only for $4 for guests, has swing seats, garden is beautiful). It is somewhat romantic and fun to have beer and food at the bar. Price is affordable and tastes good!5 stars: has an elevator3 stars: each bed has its own led booklight and electricity access.2 stars: location. It is in the middle of the town so you can see the atmosphere in daily basis. However, very hard to find as Jaws corner got divided in five paths. Taxi can not reach although its been a short walk. When you are in rush, all you can count on is your feet.1 stars: room cleanness and equipment. 1st floor has no balcony but moles and smells. Mosquito nets have dusts and so many dead bugs stuck on the fabric, especially at the top and bottom. Also, it said it is kitchenette, but utensil is very limited. Considering this hotel is far from car-accessible area and you have restaurant at the hotel and night markets nearby, I seriously can not imagine who would use the kitchen.Glasses in the bathroom are in a small dish which does not contain them safe. Even, the dish does not fit near the basin area which makes so easy to drop it and possibly cause broken glasses.0 stars: lure people with its own description on oceanview or cityview possibilities.0 stars: do not come with this price. You can find much better local luxurious hotels with ocean view. Call them and negotiate the price.

Nice hotel with good facilities, customer service is magnificent, they give you extraordinary orientation and support in everything you need, on of the few quality and cost effective hotels in Zanzibar city. It is also good hotel for couples who need quite time. I recommend it.

This place means a lot to me, its because I know it from top to bottom, Ive spent my whole childhood in the same building before being changed to Hotel thats why I can say I know each angle of it and can say its very classic hotel in Stone Town cause I can see the changes in it, the structure and the view itself its more attractive.

Good service matters! Clean and nice, good breakfast, nice size bathroom, beds, pillows, lotions, shampoos, little balconys, bedside plug for things.... All works and all details have been thought of. Even kitchenette!
