First of all I would like to thank Hamim and Khadija for the amazing treatment…To be honest all the staff were so nice and friendly even the lady who served the breakfast she was amazing and very niceThe hotel very clean and the location is amazing and close to everything we need …. The breakfast so delicious and has many options … the room very comfy and has tea and water and coffee all the time … bathroom very nice style and very big and clean has too many types of shampoos and towels …. This hotel has features of 5 stars hotel. Thanks for your host again
The hotel was excellent in working different things out with me due to the pandemic. I cant wait to experience this amazing hotel soon. Thank you for being so helpful via phone and email. :)
Very cozy boutique hotel in the heart of the city. The superior room was very beautiful and well equipped. High cleanliness and all the staff is very kind and helpful to make your stay perfect. The hotel is run by Hilton, so the service is impeccable, and at the same time it still maintains its charm and true Zanzibari character.
Beyt Al Salam is located in stonetown within the old Town a short walk away from sea and local amenities. The room facing the sea was spacious anas offered plenty of space to relax with addes bonus of large windows which could be opened to experience fresh ocean breeze. The restaurant offered local delicacies although the prices werw higher than local restaurants.
I always ate at the restaurant here. And trust me, this restaurant has the best food in Zanzibar at cheap prices. Yall need to try their food.
LOVE this hotel! We stayed in 2017 and again in 2021. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable. Its a nice quiet location that is a short walk from all the action of Stone Town. Highly recommend this hotel!
As a world traveler I have experienced to good and the bad but this one was THE UGLY!!!!Staff so rude and incompetent. Such an organized place it is shameful. So disappointed!!!!
We were expecting a lot from this place since we had heard so much about it. The hotel rooms are really small. And I mean really small for two people also. The bed pretty much eats into more than half the room area leaving precious little to walk and stand. The worst part though was the air conditioning which despite repeated calls to the reception did not seem to work effectively. We were saved by the temperatures outside going down during the night but had we been spending some time during the day there, it would have been extremely uncomfortable. Overall, it felt like a budget hotel on even tighter purse strings. Wont recommend this.
We have been in the restaurant.Very friendly service but thats it.The food is okay not bad but far away from sth. Delicious
The food is good, but our breakfast was delayed eventhough we requested earlier. We requested an earlier bill out but late also.
Clean rooms, helpful service and quite affordable.
This is a review for just the restaurant. My husband and I had a lovely meal here. It was a quiet Sunday night so there were only a few groups around. I tried the coconut crab soup, which was delicious, as was my main course of the octopus stew with rice. I definitely recommend it. Things were cooked well with great attention to good flavors and spices. They also accept credit card, which was convenient for us.
Ate here our first night in Zanzibar and we were not disappointed. We had the seafood pizza (very good) and a mixed rice/chicken/fruit dish. The seafood soup (served in a coconut) was delightful. Decent pricing. The staff were lovely. A great place to try some local cuisine.
Very nice crab soup and the octopus one good as well. Starters good thou nothing unforgettable. The restaurant room is OK, service as well. Price is acceptable compared to what most other hotel restaurants ask - we spent 95k TSH for two dishes each and water.
Unprofessional, incompetent staff. We were booked out, as the hotel was overbooked. This would have not been an issue if handled professionally. The fact that we were downgraded, had to wait for an hour, and did not take care of any expenses that occurred was not ok. Eventually we had to look for our own accommodation on our own cost. Later only we realized they still charged us for the room although we did not stay. Would not recommend the hotel as the team seemed lost, unprepared and had to call a supervisor from the hotel next door to assist. Location is ok as it leaves you only a few minutes walking to the city centre.
We had such a lovely stay at this hotel. Very simple breakfast. The location is great, right on the western edge of Stone Town, only minutes walk from Forodhani Park and the labyrinthian streets and alleys if the historic town. Tom was again very apologetic and promptly upgraded us to a suite for the night.
We were recommended this hotel by the general ***ager of a resort we stayed in during our honeymoon whilst on trip to Stonetown and we went for a delucious lunch. The location was great, just opposite the Serena Inn and in walking distance to most of the sites. The staff were very friendly and approachable. Clean and tidy.
Great location is wonderful for shopping after work. my preferred work accommodation. The most comfortably, specious and clean room and beds while walking working away. Love the restaurant and menu is interesting and delicious food. Staff friendly.
Our stop over at the Beyt Al salaam Hotel was superb... As usually from the room service to the comfy king size bed to the friendly, everything was perfect! Khadija was amazing she was so politely met us when having break fast reply we felt as home away.... We highly recommend this pretty Hotel.
Amazing friendly employees, clean, great location and amazing food !We were a group of 8 people (4 rooms),and we had a great stay in stone town .Very friendly employees, kind and professional in assisting for any request from guests.Special thanks to :Ms.Khadija (Hotel manager), and Mr.Hamim (even though he was in training that time he did great, very good listener and “yes we can” attitude).Highly recommend, great deal for the money.Eugen Serban
I only booked it online the day before and got a good price so wasnt expecting much but it was beautiful. We booked through a tour agency close by at a fraction of the cost. Room was clean. On arrival we were delighted to be upgraded to the Sultan room and given a cold bottle of bubbly as they knew it was our 10th wedding anniversary.
Lovely place and great rooms. I enjoyed the options offered for breakfast and the warm friendly service. We paid the lowest rates for the rooms available and realised in retrospect the more expensive rooms were more renovated (ie tiled flooring and great bathroom /shower fittings, they are soo divine!!) If you can spend more it is really worth it. But the cheaper rooms have humongous Space and are so quaint!. Great Breakfast. Quaint decor. Lovely garden in the front space
Good restaurant. We tried the Crab Soup and it was great. A bit overpriced though. (9/10 for the taste, 6/10 for the quantity). My wife tried the Seafood pasta and it was ok (6/10). I had the Swahili Chicken curry and it was yummy (8/10).Music was really nice and calm (Ablaye Cissoko). The waitress was extremely nice and helpful.
The were very friendly, hotel was clean, room spacious and the bed was ver comfortable.Excellent breakfast and the food in the restaurant was delicious. It is a wonderful hotel, centrally located.
The place is decorated elegantly and is situated in a great place, quiet but close to everything. The staff were very friendly and gave great advice on places to go. I can say this is very good hotel in good location. The price was the best I found in Stone Town for anything comparable.
Its my first time in Zanzibar & my travel agent suggested that I use this boutique hotel. As you walk into to this establishment you are greeted by the most kind & caring staff Ive seen in a long time.Ths hotel is so conveniently situated in Stonetown & a lot of attractions are merely a leisurely walk away.Nothing is to much for the staff of this hotel, always ready with a smile and a kind greeting. The cuisine at this establishment is absolutely amasing as well.If youre looking for the Zanzibar experience, this is your place, look no further. To the management & staff, thank you for a great experience.Kind regardsFerdie Liebenberg
We absolutely loved our stay at Beyt Al Salaam. It’s a boutique hotel with personalised service and amazing local feel. The staff were super helpful, Khadija and Husna specifically really assisted us as we had lost our luggage. Not only did we get late check out, but also they helped contact the airline to assist us in locating our bags. we loved our room, spacious and authentic. A true swahili hotel with Swahili hospitality. Tuta rudi tena!
Nice but small room w safe. Big stone shower was cool. Quiet, great location, close to the party. Better than average breakfast. Small nice park in front. Recommended.
Absolutely not a 4 star hotel. The staff try to cheat us showing a single room while I booked a double and asking extra 15$ per night for the upgrade. After insisting I got the room I paid for and it was terrible. Dirty bathroom, noisy AC and now view as supposed to be according to booking. Check the picture of you dont trust my words
Poor wifi connection in the bedrooms. The breakfast was nothing special, the restaurant is very expensive, same prices as Manhattan! This is a basic bed and breakfast house NOT a boutique hotel.
Great place , very nice view from the second floor rooms, nice authentic atmosphere, very clean, the staff is very welcoming and the restaurant food is splendid. FAST WiFi. Definitely recommended.
Stayed here with my girlfriend and had a really nice stay. I originally chose this because I thought it would be easier to get to since it wasnt hidden in the labyrinthe of the old town alleys. Friendly helpful service. Staff were wonderful and greeted us with a very warm welcome and showed us to our room.
Our delicious dinner here was made all the more special by the incredible staff. Sprinkled throughout the meal were bouts of laughter as my girlfriend and I joked with the waitress in Swahili (come with a phrase or two in hand and youll likely entertain a similar experience). The fish curry and octopus stew were two impeccable examples of Zanzibari cuisine. We left full and smiling.
How can a business enlist their rooms to be available and then say they dont. Staff is very helpfull and hyper kind, Always ready to help. We found all of the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful right from the moment we arrived. Surely we will go back to stay there.
A perfect Hotel i recommend youThe People at hotel are very friendly. Maya and her Crew were so kind plus the food is so nice and breakfast one of the best

Good breakfast, really nice people, very clean and a good place - near the beach and near the shops. All is walking distance.
Nice rooms but small, and the staff are very welcoming. Great location in a nice quiet area in Stone Town.
Nice and cosy boutique hotel in central location of stone town nice and spacious room clean and quiet.
Delicious food and great service in a lovely setting. The coconut crab soup is an absolute must!!
Normal good dinner, high price, but middle-class.Friendly Service, quiet place. Not enough for coming back again. 👫
Wonderful set up and very nice food although it feels like the menu is limited to a small number of dishes.
Beautiful little hotel, great friendly staff. Close to the beach too. Def recommend
Lovely meal, cannot understand why the restaurant was so empty. Coconut and crab soup and seafood casserole were highlights.
Love the rooms, they are big, FREE WIFI, nice location the place is secured, ancient theme and great customer service
