My family and I spent two weeks at this hotel in February.The trip from the airport to the hotel is just over one hour. We all had an amazing holiday at this hotel. It exceeded my expectations by far. Arriving at the hotel we got our rooms immediately. Accommodation is very good and rooms kept clean. The food is beyond excellent with a great variety. The beach, sea, and pool are great. Lots of amenities and entertainment to keep you busy if you choose to or you can just relax. The staff is always helpful and very friendly. The waiters are very accommodating and the service cannot be faulted. The extensive security around the hotel is nice to have. What I also liked about this hotel is the fact that there was a private beach just for guests with a bar. What is great is that one feels like the hotel does not skimp on anything. I highly recommend staying at this hotel as we all had an amazing holiday.More

Very nice hotel in Paje, a great choice for families. Large, clean and well equiped rooms, friendly staff always read to help and tasty food. The property is large, with 4 pools in different areas, so you’ll always find a quiet place to relax, but also a proper place for the kids to enjoy their time.Located right next to Paje beach, you have lots of nearby restaurants, but also kite surfing facilities.

The place is clean...the beach is nice with blue water...two big pools, the food is amazing and at night the scene is good for a romantic dinner date....ooh before i forget. its the only place in zanzibar with a dedicated sushi bar with two dedicated sushi chefs at your disposal. you will love it here

Well, its a European level resort with European prices. We have simply shown up at the reception and ended up paying 285 USD per night as this was the cheapest room available at the time. For this kind of money, the place delivered - swimming pool(s), its own sushi bar, breakfast and dinner included in the price, its own tour office and souvenir shop. Basically, if you want the comfort of European resorts while being in Zanzibar, youve come to the right place (you pampered little comfort seeker, you). The hotel also has a private beach and a ton of kite surfing schools and restaurants nearby, and, judging by other guests, is preferred by families. Would probably book in advance next time, 285 bucks per night is a 1-week stay in a less posh place around these parts, thats for certain.

Not sure how that place obtained its 4* status... Two stars just because of the super helpful and friendly staff who unfortunately dont get much of the mony you spend there...- the problem about the Hotel not being directly at the beach but close to is that the area in-between is run down and full of garbage.- no wifi in the rooms,- no TV, there are phones only in the deluxe rooms upstairs,- no hair dryer etc., not even at the deluxe rooms,- shower in the standard rooms are separated just by a curtain,- cocktails are just bad, 7€ for a mojito with no taste,- no kitesurf equipment for rent but offering super overpriced lessons,- everything is quite overpriced, not worth the money. F.e. weve ordered 4 small bananas for our baby and were charged 9.000 tsh for a fruit plate - if you buy the bananas outside the hotel, you pay 1.000 tsh for 1kg. Ordering a Taxi within Paje app. 3 min drive) costs 10$ if you order it at Dhow Inn. Getting a taxi from the road costs 2,5€ without negotiations, 1,5 with...

Well, we were not staying in the hotel but came EVERY SINGLE days for many weeks on the sun beds on the beach. We were always buying drinks. The man in charge at the beach was like our friend because seeing us every day. But he started to keep the change for him everytime we were paying him. This is not correct. If the customer says “you can keep it at a tip” yes. Otherwise you can not not giving back the change. After few days like this we went to the reception asking for our change. And since, when we are coming, he is not even giving us towels. After 30min when I ask, he shows me with his finger the direction for me to take it by myself. What is that? No professional at all. He is paying to take care of customers but he is always seating on a chair and sleeping all afternoon. Great service for down inn !! I think the boss need to check this again because good customers like us will run away with this bad service. Very disappointed

Very charming hotel, welcoming personnel and comfortable beds. They are 4 pools on the compound so it is never crowded. The hotel has a private beach where you can do activities suck as kite surf. Other coasts are close by like Kizimkazi where you can swim with the dolphins, farms in the region to do spice tour. Drivers will take you and bring you back. Area is very safe and clean.

The hotel is great, staff very friendly and helpful and fixed everything in our room very quickly. breakfast is really nice, and so is the foodWould highly recommend but would encourage to have evening activities without having to leave the hotel

Not the standard and crowdy beach hotel.Excellent to relax.Staff is super nice and always careful with costumer needs.Garden carefully treated and the food at the restaurant is much better quality than the standard hotels. Congrats to the chef !I was also positively surprised with the materials used, mainly wood... I barely had cross with plastic materials in our stay. 5 stars for that !!

Hotel is not so comfortable, rooms are simple and small. Wifi very weak, you can even lost signal in room. Price is not adequately to quality.Hotel hasnt access to the beach.

Try the Masai Spear cocktails. Nice resort, a little limited in facilities compared to a European 4*, but the rooms were clean and comfortable, dinner was generally pretty good and the beach is great. Massage packs are good value too.

Clean and private. Stayed here for 3 nights. Loved the rooms, tour services, and pool. Feels like a resort with great staff. There are 3 small pools here and a private beach entrance with beach chairs and towel service. Breakfast and dinner were included. I have to say dinner was not great compared to other restaurants nearby. They have music nights though with a great band.

We went to this resort 4 years ago and we have seen a lot of different resorts since then but everywhere we go we find out it is not as beautiful as the Dhow Inn. We especially love the white little houses in combination with the bright colored flowers, the enclosed pool, the beautiful view from the breakfast room and the tasty breakfast menu.

Best hotel stay I’ve had in a long time! The staff are all so incredible. Management has a presence on site and constantly checks in to ensure a pleasant experience. Staff go out of their way consistently to make you comfortable. Very clean, modern, and chic for a boutique hotel! Three pools, excellent food, and beautifully landscaped grounds! I’d be back here in a heartbeat! Was the perfect end to my vacation!

We spent 3 nights at the hotel. Cant complain on anything with service and accomodation. Nice rooms, nice enviroment inside, everything clean...although pools should have more chem inside because bubbles were on the surface ocassionally... And the walk from hotel to beach is little bit ugly...bricks and building material..=/

I staid at Dhow Inn given all the positive reviews, but was very disappointed. Ive never had such a poor customer experience at a hotel before. The night we arrived, there was a large cockroach in our bed. I wasnt too bothered by the bug, but the staffs reaction was the most absurd. We asked the night manager to help us get rid of the bug, but he was extremely rude - refusing to provide us with new bed sheets. We finally convinced him to let us change rooms instead, after much eye rolling and clear discontent from his end. We chatted with another manager the following morning, who was not very apologetic and did not offer to compensate us for the inconvenience - which was overall shocking for a 4-star hotel with good track record of reviews. Just a warning for other visitors to Paje who may want to stay at Dhow Inn! For the price tag, you can find another hotel with better service and the same level of amenities.

Unfortunately cant give 0 stars. Went for dinner. Initially told that it is no problem. After ordering drinks, the F&B manager (Heda) sent a message to say that no walk-in guests will be accommodated. We asked if we could eat in the bar area but once again, a message was sent (the manager did not come to speak to us, though she walked around) that it would not be allowed. As they have $25 credit card limit, we ordered 2 more drinks and left. (Bear in mind that they add 5% to card transactions).Given that the Revenue Service has closed (parts of) their hotel down, as per the signs pasted on their doors, you may want to steer well clear!

Fun beach bar to hang out for the night. Diverse crowd of tourists and locals and decent drinks. Not the nicest restrooms but the rest is cool.
