My friend and I had an absolutely incredible experience staying at Amani. The transport arranged by the hotel was waiting for us in the airport and drove us down to Paje. We were then greeted by the very friendly Lucas who got us settled in our rooms. The reception area is beautifully decorated and open so that you can see straight to the beach when you arrive. We had a standard double room. The rooms have a firm but comfortable bed with mosquito netting. There is also a powerful air condition, a minibar with soft drinks and beer and a safe. The bathroom is big with a rainfall shower. We had breakfast and dinner included. Everyday there is a breakfast buffet with two chefs making fresh omelettes and pancakes of your liking. The fresh fruit on display is highly recommended. Dinner is usually an a la carte menu with three options for starters, mains and desserts. The dinners were amazing with an abundance of choice between meat, seafood and vegetarian. The highlight for us was Swahili night on Wednesday when local food was served and a live band was entertaining the guests! I have never been so full in my whole life.We were also lucky to attend the new years eve party arranged by the hotel. Drinks were served throughout the day and the dinner menu was incredible - we had the lobster. In the evening a DJ played his set before a live band entertained the guests. The whole staff attended the midnight celebrations with us and contributed heavily to the fantastic atmosphere.Every staff member is incredibly friendly and we were genuinely asked how our experience was and if there was anything they could do to enhance our stay. The hotel arranged a taxi to watch the sunset at Kae Beach at short notice.A big thank you to all the staff and especially Robert who made us feel special! We will come back.

PARADISE!We have traveled to well over 60 countries at various excellent high end and more chilled hotels and RARELY had such an AMAZING experience!- FOOD is incredible. Amazing breakfasts with TONS of choice (eggs your choice, waffles/crepes, fruit selection, fruit juices, muesli, yoghurt, prosecco… etc etc ) and A-la-carte DELICIOUS and HEALTHY dinners with always 3+ choices with veggie options also (lobster, T-bone steaks, tuna, chicken biryani curry, etc etc or on few nights buffets with more choices you can imagine!)- Staff and service are amazing. Always COURTEOUS and CUSTOMER ORIENTED. Smiling, helping, solving problems (like also printing this PCR test result), bringing you fresh cool towels on the beach, organizing special nights and activities (Christmas and New Years were incredible with full entertainment program of music, dj, live band, dancers… and even presents & fireworks… for a hotel with max 30 guests!). Plus Wednesday Swahili night with saxophone player! Special mentions to Robert, Ally and Alex who continuously go out of their way! What else to say:- CLEAN & COMFORTABLE. Great rooms with modern (hot!!) showers, cleaned several times a day, with mosquito nets (but there are really no mosquitoes), pool super clean with the attendant continuously scrubbing it clean. (It’s worth getting sea view rooms too)- SECURE. Thanks to Maasai security. None of the beach vendors get on the property and any non guests are quickly intercepted.- BEAUTIFUL. Tastefully decorated. Great beach front with the whitest of sands, great pool area with unique Zanzibar decor (the door frames or pool design)…- GREAT LOCATION. Paje beach is breathtaking and it’s located on the south end, just right next to White Sands relais & château.., and you can easily walk along the beach to reach Paje main town (15-20mn away) to have lunch or dinner or go kiting. Oh there is a kite surf school next door although our friends tried B4 (located ~10mn walk north) which they liked.- CALM / ADULTS only. Only 14 rooms. Perfect in Covid times to have company yet keep to yourself also.- AND… if this proves how good it is, we had friends switch hotels to another on the north coast (not to be named) but they quickly came running back (even paying twice if needed!!) as this one is so much better (food, service, etc)Finally I had read good and bad reviews to help me make up my mind before coming. I will not doubt what others have said (to each their own) but have absolutely no clue why someone would say anything bad (and I did think hard about what could be negative angles in my point of view, and talked to other guests about their experiences too- but failed to come up with anything … from my personal point of view and theirs). This place is a little piece of Paradise.

My wife and me had a wonderful 10 days stay there - everything was just pitch perfect!Starting from the extremely friendly and courteous staff (Alfred, Pendo, Alex, Robert, Lucas, Sunday and the entire cooking staff as well as everybody else). Whenever we met somebody from the hotel staff we were sincerely asked, how we are doing, if we are enjoying our stay and what could be done to even increase our joyful stay.Lovely people with an extreme sense of service character!BIG THANKS to you guys!(If the owner reads this: They do an amazing job!)The hotel itself is located just perfect close to Paje. We often took a afternoon walk over the beach to the city to grab some small bites for a late lunch. For breakfast the hotel always offered fresh fruits and fresh fruit juices. You can have any variation of eggs and fresh toasted bread, some vegetable and a freshly prepare pancake. The hotel area and the rooms benefit a lot from the latest renovations: the owner has changed in 2021 and the new owner has completely renovated the entire hotel building and the outdoor area in June 2021. Even with picky German premises everything was in very good shape and clean. The pool is not too big in size, but absolutely fine for refreshing. We often stayed at the private beach with own Masai security (The Beach Boys are not allowed to enter, so that you have your own privacy). The benches and reed sun umbrellas are comfortable and for free, so it is no problem to spend entire days there. The sand feels like flour - it is so white and fine-grained!Behind our private beach the public beach started. It is quite affected from the tides which makes it very nice to take long walks on the sand dunes. They slightly arise from the ocean when the tides are low. The water can be as clear as the water from the tab, during high tides the fine-grained sand can color the water a little bit dusty. But even that looks just amazing like one of the best pictures that you can google.Further you have plenty of spare time activities that you can try out. Paje is one of the best places in the world for kite surfing (for beginners and professionals), but you can also book a snorkeling tour (recommended), rent a scooter and drive all over the island (recommended), a spice tour (it was ok) or a guided tour through Stone Town (we did that on our own).Zanzibar as island is the perfect location to experience one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The Amani Boutique Hotel is the perfect topping on the cake to create a relaxing and recharging holiday!Thank all of you - we will try to come back some time in the future!Best regards,Katja & Benjamin

Highly Recommended! Small, elegant hotel with a family character. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the food is great and Robert and his team make the holidays perfect. However, if you are looking for animation with dance and music, this is not the place for you. After dinner you can still enjoy a good glass of wine at your table and from 10 p.m. at the latest it is quiet. During the day you can book all kinds of massages at a reasonable price or enjoy a long, undisturbed walk on the beach. Excursions are of course also offered.

An ideal destination for those who appreciate peace and quiet. The picturesque long white sandy beach of Bweju-Paje - voted one of the 30 best beaches on the island in the world by Condé Nast Traveler - offers the opportunity for long walks with the turquoise ocean that laps the shore.
