Had a lovely meal here a few days ago.We ordered crab cocktail for starters - delicious. Main course we had grilled tuna, grilled lobster, lobster Thermidor and prawns (with cream). All the dishes were absolutely scrumptious and reasonably priced.

Good location but we waited about 1-1 1/2 hour for our food. We had prawns, mine were okay but the ones of my friend were cold.It is okay but nothing spectacular

Decent spot to rent a day bed and chill out on the beach. It’s in a nice section of Nungwi beach and has some of the most comfortable sunbeds outside of the resorts. They serve food and drinks which were decent and well priced.

Food was really good👌, specially the fish 🐠. The view is amazing 🏝️ and you can sit there to see the sunset 🤙🌍🏖️.

I just passed this reataurant, and i found big fish in front of it, so i tried take a photo. One staff saw me and he came to me. He was angry and he told me i need pay 2 USD because of i took a photo of fish!But i didt yet so i explained that. But he didnt listen to what i said.Its so funny, im a asian girl and i was there alone.OK. I wanna ask one thing to him. If i was a white guy, then did you do that? So sadly they make a racism themselves. I feeling that now in Africa including Zanzibar.

You can go for it with your eyes closed. Staff is very friendly, cocktail are good. The fish is simply succulent, go for barracuda,its yummy.And enjoy a pleasure taking lobster there, well cooked and good price. We shared a magnum one.

Ordered calamary in coconut souse and spicy chicken curry, but after around an hour of waiting, waiter said that its not possible to cook calamary, as those arent available.

Good food at a reasonable price

The crab masala is delicious! I have been to Zanzibar 4 years in a row and always come to Blue Ocean. Consistently good food and good service. A bit slow on some days, but food is cooked to order so have a pina colada (or two) while you wait.

The food is much better here than in restaurant next to it and the staff are nice and welcoming. The prices I felt were OK as well. I was bit disappointed with my bayleys though as they poured maybe a half sip of it in the glass. I dont like when restaurant is trying to be cheap on your cost

The location is OK as all the restaurants near by the view and beach 🏖 is stunning.I did not have dinner just a drink and all together was average. I think this is a OK choice like the places around.

Restaurant was slow, but delicious. More importantly, the independent henna artists on the beach use black henna which is highly dangerous and it is illegal in most countries. Black henna often causes serious chemical burns 1-3 weeks after application, as it did to my wife. Dont get the tattoos! (even though the artists are well-meaning)

Food is good and price is reasonable, but the abundance of flies at that part of the beach made the dining experience pretty annoying.

The best experience on Nungwi and the whole island of Zanzibar. No access to hakuna matata as it is in Baraka, for example. Especially Royda waitress was great. We ate there many times.

Prices are affordable, the food, especially the pizza is very good. The reason i write this review is the incredible friendly, young waiter - sadly I forgot his name. We came there a few times just because of him and his interactions with us (he told us he actually wanted to go to the army but couldnt). And please, give the tips to the waiters secretly, they are not allowed to keep it!

Great restaurant, oceanfront dinner. Fast service, ordered for two octopus in coconut sauce, snapper, pizza with seafood and Thai calamari. The portions were very large, the side dish was not even finished, the pizza was packed for us. I recommend one of the best facilities in Nungwi in terms of the range of services provided!

A local restaurant on the beach with your feet in the sand. We ate there twice because everything is really well cooked and half the price of the beach restaurants in Nungwi. The shrimp are excellent, the soups too. Even the beef was successful!

The best combination of price and quality. The portions are 2 times larger than in neighboring establishments, for the same or less price. We were in all the neighboring restaurants on this beach, in the end we returned here and we go constantly. Service is relatively short lived by local standards. Nice place with decent menu choices. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The dish is cooked for about 1 hour. Everything is very tasty and the presentation is interesting. A portion per person is about 20 shillings. I liked the Crab cocktail. All dishes are served with either fries or rice to choose from. Lots of fish and seafood to choose from, grilled. Nearby there is a barbecue where freshly caught fish and seafood are prepared.

We went a couple of times. The first to try and dine at the seashore. The second because we found the service very attentive and really pleasant and to corroborate the idea that I present below. The fish dishes (octopus, squid ...) let me down both times. They could eat perfectly, but the fish was dry and less appetizing than it should. Be that as it may, a dinner in the light of the candlestick and on the seashore is something to do in Zanzibar.

Site with beautiful sea visits. But the food leaves a lot that you want. We ordered grilled tuna and caramares, which way to destroy fresh and good raw material. They were totally dry, I couldnt even chew.
