We liked it a lot and went there a couple of times. Especially the pita, hummus, Shaka hula and the platter were pretty good. The falafel as well but a little bit to small.

The restaurant is a short walk past a few souvenir stores from the beachfront. We had the falafel, mixed dips and pita, and the Pirate (whole fish with chips and salad). The falafels are bite sized but tasty, the pita was lightly toasted on the outside and fluffy inside, and the fish tasted fresh (although beware of the small bones). The restaurant also has a nice hang out spot with a pool table and a swing.

Delicious food, very friendly and polite staff. Food was prepared fast, in comparison to the usual speed in Zanzibar. Close to the beach, yet secluded with nice atmosphere.

I gotta say, very professional service, great food. No huge but okay big portions. The Mixed starter platter is to recommend! But the prices are too high compared too other restaurants. I understand that demand creates a higher pricing. But assuming this just helps the owner in the end and not the people working, it just doesnt fit to pay prices @european heights.. Pretty nice restaurant with fairly high pricing, especially regarding the local price level. Nevertheless, amazing tuna ceviche they have! It‘s really good and really expensive with 20.000 Schilling. Yes, they serve Schnitzel and its not bad at all! Also, they serve a whole fish from the oven - nothing spectacular though. Overall, a nice restaurant with interesting fusion cuisine! We will come back!

Best tuna ceviche on the planet and lovely eclectic atmosphere with great music! Bennett was an excellent server and compliments to the amazing chef, this restaurant is very lucky to have her.

Tasty food with reasonable prices for the higher quality you get at this restaurant. The portion size was not so small as some reviews state here.

One of the places in the whole Zanzibar where you can eat without fear of getting food poisoning. Even recommended restaurants in Nungwi had sub par hygiene and service, but here things were way more consistent. I highly recommend the dip platter with the four dips. The fish and chips were nice too. Overall most of the days the restaurant is well ran, which is in stark contrast with other restaurants in the area.

Best food we‘ve had so far in 6 weeks Tanzania… food ranges from 20.000-30.000 Shillings for a meal. Incredible!

To be honest, i dont understand the ratings here. Ceviche was very good, the hummus and other dips were simply not good. The portions of the dips are more than a joke. The burger as the main was horrible. The patty came more than well done, the bun wasn’t even heated up. Prices are ridiculous high with no reason!Ambiente nice, staff friendly. For that and the ceviche the two stars (even though less would be reasonable).

Fanstastic place. Relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Food was delicious (we tried the samurai, the local falafel and the dessert), fresh juices were okaish, not the best we ever had.

Highly recommended.Rooms are nice and clean. Very close to a beautiful beach. It is located near a lot of shops and bar.Staff is super friendly.The food at the restaurant was very good ( we had fish, chips, humus, looots of juices, creme brulee, burgers, salads ) , and most importantly it was clean. One of the only places where we werent worried to get food poisoning so we ate there a lot.You can only pay in cash, usd or tzh.Theres a nice place to chill out.

Quick service. The food is nice, even though not the most amazing. For Zanzibar standards it is pretty good though so I’d recommend going when in Nungwi.

Unsatisfactory stay at nungwi, the photos and reviews dont show exactly how the place is, the bedrooms are not as good as the pictures, the toilets arent that clean, when we landed the AC wasnt working in one room, leaking in the other, there wasnt water pressure to have a shower, door locks werent opening. These are some of the few issues we faced and the only resolution we received was a round of beer and 25 dollars in total for 4 days of stay reimbursed ( which was promised but never returned to us) overall.dont recommend this place. However the reason.i havent given 1 but a 2 star rating was because the staff were extremely humble.and very nice to.all of us as well as the common chilling areas were very nice.

There are a few vegan and vegetarian options to choose from. Hopefully the owner who is an Israeli btw, takes into consideration adding.more vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. The place is clean and serving is faster and average places. The humble homous dish is a little unbalanced where they serve you a huge bowl of humous and just little carrots and cucumber. I would add less humous and more vegetables to balance the dish.

Delicious! My husband and I ordered the tuna tartare to share which was outstanding! As for our mains we ordered the chicken schnitzel (authentic and superb) and their baked white snapper in rosemary herbs... it was the best meal we’ve had in Nungwi! Although it’s a bit more pricier than most restaurants here I can assure you that the quality in the food and service is well worth it. We definitely will be back again before our trip is over!

Tasty, but very small portions. If you are hungrig you may need two dishes, which results to18 US$ which is relatively costly even for Tourists.

This restaurant is clearly of higher quality than surrounding restaurants, although one should keep in mind that the Zanzibar standard is not high.I ordered ceviche, which was not really ceviche (wasnt marinated in acid) but more a tartare with mayonaise, but it was very tasty. Also the snapper was perfectly baked, which seems a rarity given my experience in other restaurants around.

The meat was too overcooked but the burger was still eatable though. The French fries were delicious and tasty.

Came when is was moderately busy. A few tables open but not enough space for 6. We sat on the couches to have drinks while waiting for a table. We had to get our own menus and our waiter never came back. We put together our own table, got more menus and still no waiter came to assist. The chair cushions are stained with old food, the chair arms are greasy and we felt we needed to leave to get a better experience elsewhere. Didnt order anything.

Super nice restaurant with very good food. Always busy (during peak tourism season) so if you dont want to wait (10 to 20min) I recommend booking a table. They always did their best to accommodate us and the staff was very friendly. Food super tasty and healthy. We were in Nungwi less than a week and ate there 3 times, so we clearly likes it.

Very nice food & atmosphere!..but can pls anyone tell the owners that the ratio from 3 guys behind the bar (one wearing earphones🤔) and 1 guy doing table service (food&drink) is a mismatch! The little guy (no blaim!) was constantly running between tables but still kitchen was still constantly banging the ready-bell!

Really high quality restaurant with the best WiFi around ! the prices is not to expansive but not the cheapest that you can find, but every bite is worth every shiling. Most of the dishes are based on the Israeli kitchen which is rich with Styles and flavors.

Great food, though try not to sit under a fan if you dont like little pieces of dirt falling on you.For us the downside was on payment - first we were presented with a bill with something added that we didnt order, which could have been a genuine mistake, but then on paying 50k for a 42.5k meal the waiter wanted to keep all the change which led to an unfriendly and unpleasant situation, and unfortunately ended the experience on a sour note.Do check your bill and change carefully here. For the restaurant, tipping needs to be a choice for the customer or included in the price.

As an Egyptian seeing our comfort home food falafel or shaksuka or hummus being called Israeli makes my heart ache. I would have loved if the place just claims to be Mediterranean, but trying to make our classical Arabic dishes “Israeli” is .... meh! 🤷🏽‍♀️😔 #claimingourfood

The restaurants atmosphere is great, a complete relaxation zone with great, if not near perfect food. The tuna ceviche, tuna tartar and creme brulee were delicious and worth visiting the restaurant again. The potions are extremely generous and its impossible to leave hungry. The best quality an of food weve had in Nungwi. The owner and staff are kind and friendly. You wont be disappointed after visiting here.

My friends and I were looking for a place to eat and came across Badolina. We were impressed with what was offered in the menu and once we received our food, it was beyond expectations. We came back 4-5 times in the short time we were in Zanzibar bc the food was so good. Unlike other places, the service was very quick and on point. Atmosphere was amazing. I highly highly recommend going here as you will NOT be disappointed.

Excellent restaurant with a choice of lebanese, maroccan, asian and israelian food, which changes a lot with the local type of food. Good quality and cheap in comparison with the restaurants of the hotels around. In addition you can play darts and there is good music. Plus the boss is really sweet. You should not miss this beautiful spot!

Would definitely recommend Badolina, food tastes delicious and fresh, its great for vegetarians. Has a very chilled atmosphere with friendly and helpful staff. They also use bamboo straws!

This restaurant has a really good vibe and also the food is delicious. I recommend this place for vegetarians. It is just 30m1 from the beach and has no sea view but the food and the good vibe makes the sea view worthless.

Badolina genuinely owns its name of Secret Garden! After several years visiting Nungwi I finally found a place where you can enjoy healthy and made-with-love food à la Mediterranean way with local ingredients. The later includes nice tasting red wine , which is incredibly hard to find in average local restaurants !( Try Marizas’s fav ) . The atmosphere, the service and the nice owners make it a perfect place to enjoy the evening. My new Nungwi place.
