The premises are absolutely beautiful. The beach, the pool, and the rooms are flawless. The service is really bad, especially restaurant staff. In their defense, they did seem understaffed, but the waitress rolled her eyes on me when I ordered food to be delivered. Each drink will take 30 minutes to get ready. If you are at the beach nobody will come and ask if you want a beverage, you have to walk all the way to the main restaurant to order, because the pool bar is always empty. For the price tag, I expected way better service. When they do come, food and drinks are delicious, though.

The hotel and beach area is as beautiful as the pictures and we loved relaxing on the swing chairs. The room is big and the balcony had a pretty sea view. I recommend the villa (with private pool) if you are looking to splurge.Cleaning staff are wonderful and kind.Food was very tasty, but most kitchen staff we interacted with were very impatient and seemed annoyed to serve us, so we ended up eating elsewhere for most meals (walking down the beach is pleasant when the tide is low, else we walked back on the road). Even getting drinks on a sunny afternoon was a challenge.Bathroom needs a little love as well, our toilet did not flush properly.Wifi internet was inconsistent and slow, usually giving max 1mbps during the day, with disconnects.

Very friendly staff, with exception of one reception guy that wanted to profit from our tour and charged double the price. Internet is terrible, constant disconnects, 0.16 mbit up/down speed with a lot of jitter and packet loss. Almost unusable. Cleaning ladies are exceptional. They are so nice and they prepare rooms so each day feels like you are on honeymoon. Prices in restaurant and bar are totally reasonable ($4 cocktail in happy hour) and food is delicious.

Picturesque location, wonderfully friendly staff and spotless housekeeping. A few areas could do with attention - bathroom refurb, pillows, massage, food variety - but it didn’t stop me having a fantastic stay and I would happily return. As others have said, there isn’t a white sand beach but plenty of sand in the grounds and can easily swim at high tide so no issue IMO! I also enjoyed being away from main town and walking the 10mins there at low tide. I was in the normal rooms and would go for a suite next time. Highly recommend - one of the few places I’ve ever been where the Instagram pics are reality!!

We had the perfect honeymoon in the perfect hotel!!I dont know where to start. We stayed 6 nights in the hotel and we wish we stayed longer. We booked one of the three new love shacks situated in front of the turquoise Indian Ocean. The room was fully equipped and beautifully built and organized. We were comfortable and we had no issue with it. We noticed that there arent mosquitos bothering us but still the hotel insists on spraying the room every night. The food was amazing!! We tried lots of dishes from the menu and every time the chef surprised us with different ingredients each time, mango or avocado..The quantity was really generous and we felt full after each meal. The seafood was so tasty.Along with the Lunch/dinner menu, there was a 5 course dinner every day and we had to choose our main course everyday after breakfast. The standards were higher than we ever expected. And to add on the great food, the staff and waiters were professional and kind. The pool was 2m deep and it was in front of the ocean. We enjoyed some tasty cocktails either near it or on the installed swings facing the ocean. The design of the hotel is really simplistic, in a good way, with white sand everywhere, beautiful lights to highlight the path to the rooms or restaurant.., and a well maintained garden. The other rooms looked great as well and there are even private villas for friends and families. It is clear that the owners are doing a great job in maintaining this piece of heaven.Special thanks to Kyoso, with whom we organized this trip. He was really patient with us before coming to the hotel answering all our questions and organizing everything for us. With all of that, he even came with the driver to greet us at the airport. He is a great and kind person and made our stay comfortable. We cant say the opposite on the hotel staff. We were sad to leave but we will definitely come back to the hotel with our families or friends as Zanzibar has a lot to offer and the Zanzibari Boutique is just as amazing.

Good except the service in the restaurant, which is extremely weak, the food, and the massage. I was going to give three stars, but gave four because they upgraded us to the love shack for two nights for free. The seafood at the restaurant is cooked beyond recognition. The wifi is poor. Dont waste your money on a massage because the ladies doing it obviously have no clue what massage is. Otherwise the rooms were spacious and spotless. Theres really no beach there but the yard is nice.

Although most staff were cordial and polite, waitress was completely disinterested and failed to deliver order in a timely manner. Secondly, the fragility of the furniture is a huge issue as several things broke during our stay. Lastly, the extortionate prices for quite possibly the worst fishing experience in my life was ridiculous. We paid $200 dollars for a wooden boat without any seats, 2 fishing rods that we weren’t allowed to hold ourselves. Also we were promised “fruits” on the boat but they proceeded to cut up dirty oranges and gave it to us. In addition, the boat had a motor but the captain refused to use it, appearing to want to save fuel. Completely pathetic excuse for a hotel, 1/10.

What an absolute gem of a hotel. The location is pristine, the design of the hotel is unique, and the service is first class. We stayed in the quaint love shack, situated footsteps from the ocean. Kyosa, Lazaru, Amani, Omar- these are the faces and personalities that gave this place so much character and charm. Definitely recommended for a relaxing and hospitable stay.

We had the time of our lives here! Its a wonderful piece of paradise, by all means. The people here are so friendly, professional and well educated, always smiling and willing to share a lot of interesting things about the culture and the country. The food is tasty, flavoured and delightful! On Friday night they organized a swahili traditional night, with local dishes and music. We really enjoyed not only the amazing food, but also the atmosphere! All the guests and the staff were so joyful. Another night, I had seafood salad for dinner and it was just perfect. Soft octopus, tasty shrimps and calamari grilled to perfection. The rooms are cleaned with so much attention to details and everyday we have fresh flowers. Before closing, I want to pay a special Asante Sana! to Lazaro, Kyoso and Zori, we are grateful for their warm and nice way of welcoming us. All the best for you! 🇹🇿🌴💗Hakuna Matata!

We werent actual guests of the hotel, but we stayed here and used the amenities because our hotel was the worst. They have great food and excellent service. The staff is friendly and accomodating and they went out of their way to make us feel like we belong. If you have the chance to stay with them we highly recommend it. We took the sunset cruise and it was awesome - THE PARTY BOAT FTW! The pool is cleaned every day, the massage was great and they have fast and kind service. Abdullah ( I hope this is how its spelled) makes everything better and Zori was very entertaining while on the boat cruise.

In Zanzibar you will find a different landscape around every corner: the idyllic beaches and ocean, become a playground for diving, snorkeling and kitesurfing, while the narrow alleys of historic Stone Town meander between ancient buildings decorated with balconies and gigantic carved doors. Whether you are looking for an ideally-located hotel to explore the island, or as part of your adventurous holiday, The Zanzibari has you covered. This boutique hotel’s excellent location on the North-Eastern tip of the island and its peaceful surroundings make it the perfect destination for those after somewhere a bit smaller, offering a relaxed atmosphere and simple but efficient rooms.Do not miss the chance of getting to see the cool surroundings of the spa room which overlooks the Indian Ocean. The hotel offers water activities such as snorkel and scuba diving.

We were made to feel like royalties here! We even got our own Maasai welcome dance arriving here. Looking at the pictures we took every single one looks like a postcard. Easily one of the most beautiful places we have stayed in, ever. We were on Zanzibar to visit two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. First Stone Town and then the tentative Jozani Forest/Chwaka Bay Conservation Area.We only spent two nights in The Zanzibari at the end of November but we wish we could have spent 2 weeks instead. The hotel garden has been curated for over 10 years. It is beautifully laid out with white sand and stone laid paths leading to all parts of the grounds. In the middle, surrounded by tropical trees, is a beautiful pool area facing the Indian Ocean. When the tide is high there is an amazing little private beach available. When the tide is out you have more space than you could ever wish for. This hotel is very secluded and not part of the super touristy part of Nungwi, it is on the other side of the village. Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. The weather was great and we loved just chilling by the infinity pool and strolling on the beach at low tide. Our room on the second floor was spectacular. We were saying wow a lot coming in there. The very comfy bed was wonderfully arranged with flowers. From it, you could see straight out into the ocean’s horizon. An even better view we had from our private balcony, it was simply stunning. We had all our meals in the hotel and with no complaints, everything was delicious. The staff were all lovely and extremely attentive and helpful all the time. The most interesting and eye-opening activity we did while at the hotel was to join a village walk. It took us into the nearby Nungwi village. Nzori, from the hotel, was an amazing guide. He knew everyone in the village and took us to his own home to show us how real Zanzibari people live. Do this activity and you will get a whole new level of understanding life there. We also signed up for a Dhow Sunset Sail, departing from Nungwi Beach. This was another highlight of our stay but of a very different sort. The Zanzibari comes highly recommended by us. It is a fantastic place to stay for a relaxing and secluded beach holiday.

Very quiet cozy hotel, the food in the restaurant is very tasty. The only negative is the very strong ebbs and flows, swimming except in the pool is unlikely to work in the sea. When we rested, there were very strong waves at high tide. But there are also positive aspects of strong low tides, if you go to the right of the hotel, then there is just a heavenly spit with a snow-white beach and there are places where it is possible to splash, so to speak, the water is knee-deep there.

Welcome drink on arrival, very very nice and helpful staff, we even had the right to a nice surprise for my birthday thank you again to Baraka, Tino, Abubakari, Kyoso and Nzori ♡ the moment was unforgettable!Bungalow number 1 is perfectly located, paradise beach in sight! Very intimate and discreet hotel which is perfect when you come to Zanzibar. The sea is magnificent despite the low tide in the morning, a staircase leads you directly to the water in the afternoon, turquoise water ♡ still bring swimming shoes. The breakfast is very generous, à la carte and really good, which is rare on the island (a special thank you for the Nutella and the waffles), the quality is there for the rest of the meals as well. The swimming pool is nice but honestly with the sea that we have, we dont spend more time there than that. The outdoor facilities are sufficient. The bedding is good and the cleaning is very good, thank you very much for the cleaning and the smile of Rose & Biti)Finally the location is very good, on foot you have the turtle conservatory, and the cocobello to party on Wednesdays and Saturdays!I am posting this comment after having done 3 other hotels on the island and honestly we regret them!

We are currently staying in this hotel which is none other than a true haven of peace, a paradise on earth, a hotel like we have never had ... The rooms are very beautiful, very clean, cleaned with care , (we are in Love Shakes 3, the one that is the farthest back and we have such a pleasant intimacy ...). The food is neat, so good, that you have the impression of being in a real gourmet restaurant ... with quality raw materials (fresh fish, fresh exotic fruits and even, for some cueuillis, within the restaurant itself. hotel). Do not hesitate to ask to go up to the palm tree with the gardeners to collect coconuts, it was a great experience for Mr. 👍 ...The hotel and its garden are there very nicely maintained every day. The hotel, concerned about our well-being, makes a passage every evening in the room in order to spray an insecticide ... No bites for us 🙂.A big ++ for the hotel staff who take care of their customers and in particular, Alfred, Nzori (manager), the gardener Francis, Betty who is always there at the reception to help you. PS: the Maasai are constantly present to ensure our safety. This is a small hotel very well located close to everything, the pool is nice, the deckchairs and swings are great for an intimate romantic moment .... Waking up in front of the sea with the sound of the sea...PS: it is about a rather poor country, do not hesitate to give small tips, and to bring back small gifts for the Zanzibari in town ... They really need it. This is our best trip, and the choice of hotel is a real find.

We went on our honeymoon at the end of August 2018. Superb hotel located away from the main beach but which is magically calm. Breathtaking view of the ocean. Little room so very quiet. A real corner of paradise. We had taken half board and we were right because at night the tide is high and it is therefore impossible to go to the heart of Neugwi. Nothing prevents you from taking the taxi ride. The food was very good and is meant to be gastro with a 3 course service. The rooms have all seen on the ocean more or less clear depending on the floor. To really recommend !!!
