Yesterday we were staying in this hotel and we had very bad experience with hotel’s owner.The electricity went out for the whole island, and yes, that is not hotel’s fault. The hotel has generator but it’s not strong enough to support AC so we were out of AC and the fan also wasn’t working so it was extremely hot in the room.The issue with the electricity caused my Apple phone charger to burn out and also light to go crazy so it was blinking and we couldn’t turn it on or off. It was impossible to sleep so we called reception and the guy came to repair it but he wasn’t speaking English, then the other one came, and then the 3rd one succeeded to repair it. That took 2 hours!!!! From 11pm to 1am.When we complained for everything in the morning the receptionist was very nice and understanding, but then the owner came and he was unacceptably rude and didn’t want to give any discount and make up for our inconveniences and dead charger.So we called the police and after 1 hour of discussion the hotel agreed to put the price down for $20 out of $50 (not even 50% like the owner lied in response to my girlfriend’s comment below) which is less than the price of a dead charger, and not to even mention not being able to sleep, all the stress and half of the day we lost in arguing with them.We travel a lot, and we understand that the problem with devices and electricity can happen, we were very calm with it, and just wanted some understanding from the hotel stuff. But owner’s behavior was so rude and unacceptable that the problem became way much bigger then to begin with. There’s nothing that could make up the experience we had with him!!!!!People that work at the hotel are very nice and pleasant but the owner is a dushbag not knowing to communicate and be nice to people. Its all about the money and not about his guests.

Thank you for our lovely holydays in your hotel. Room was big and nice, shower working good, air conditioner was working and all staff is friendly and helped with everything we needed. We had moskitos in room, and the owner gave us special thing against it. Thank you so much for it.

Don’t come to this hotel! Because if you face any issues they won’t care! We were staying here last night and ac and fan weren’t working. Then they ran out of electricity, after it came back our light was going on and off for half of the night and we couldn’t turn it off, so no sleeping at all.Problem with electricity killed my original apple charger which costs $25.When we complained in the morning, the owner (Russian guy) came and was extremely rude about it, he said it’s not his problem and just left. He wasn’t willing to make it up anyhow.I’ve never experienced such an unprofessional management!!!!!

Worst night at Zanzibar. Loud music till morning. Mosque is next to the hotel, morning prayer woke us up at 5 am. Shower head holder is broken. No Towels for face.

We rested as a couple in Zanzibar, Nungwi beach, at the Max hotel. The hotel is run by a very friendly and welcoming couple Daria and Max. They make their stay as comfortable as possible for their guests. Responded to all our requests and wishes. The room is cleaned daily, the bed is changed every 3 days, the area is clean, well-groomed, lots of greenery, quiet, 5 minutes from the beach. On the territory there is a restaurant, tasty and cozy. Breakfast was included in the room rate, varied, large portions, lots of fruit. We often ate dinner in the hotel restaurant in the evening. Very friendly staff. In addition to mosquito nets, the rooms also have ordinary glass windows that can be closed at night. Also around the clock there is cold and hot water without interruption, in any quantity. The room has both air conditioning and a fan. The socket is universal for any plug. Spray from mosquitoes, but we did not use, there were no mosquitoes. Cleaning daily, change of towels, rooms smell nice. There is no refrigerator, but I read that you can ask for an additional fee, we do not need a refrigerator. Sometimes its loud behind the fence, but it seems to me so everywhere. The breakfasts are delicious: a plate of fruit, fresh juice, breakfast, coffee. In general, the restaurant itself at the hotel is not bad and with an excellent price. I recommend the octopus.But the highlight of this hotel is the owners. Maxim and Dasha, starting from where to go, where to get a SIM card, where is it better to buy, ending with being connected 100 percent of the time. The guys are very fond of what they do, and this is always the key to success. You can live in a large hotel but not feel comfortable. Our 9 days of rest were very comfortable, the guys became close, and the rest from this is even brighter. If you are thinking whether to go to the Max hotel, do not think, go!

Delicious shrimp, grilled octopus and Tuna sashimi. The owners of the hotel Daria and Maxim are often at the hotel, helpful and always try to help if you have any questions. In their absence, manager Osman also tries to answer all the questions that arise and is ready to help in resolving them. The hotel can take a transfer. We took from the Airport and back, also to Stone Town. Great cars, great drivers. The vacation went well. During the whole vacation, I never had to regret the chosen hotel, everything worked, the location is excellent. Thank you very much, maybe well come back again.

Well, in Zanzibar itself, Daria organized an excellent fishing trip for me. We also talked with her for a long time about this, she monitored the weather situation for several days and found out the favorable time and place for fishing. I really liked this attentive approach to the client, its super! And here the question is not about money, but that it really was very important for her that everything worked out and I was satisfied with the time spent at sea (although I did not even live in her hotel)! It was felt! Apparently such a careful and attentive approach gives results and I was very pleased with the fishing, starting from its organization (boat, tackle, captain, etc.), and of course I was pleased with the successful catch (three test tuna !!!).
