So where to begin? We were staying here from 14Dec-12Jan, together with a 2,5 year old and a 5 month old baby. The first impression of the tropical garden with magnificent pool(s), is just a feeling of paradise. The apartments are well equipped for your daily needs: big fridge, cooking abilities, big shower, living room, and private terrace. No tv, what I think is a plus! All the staff are super friendly, especially the Masai guarding the place, our son just loved to play and do crazy with them. The little shop ‘la Bottega’ is really handy for nice quality Italian meats, cheeses, veggies, wines,…ideal for a last minute visit. The village of Cairo itself really gets you to feel the local life. Even though we were a bit everywhere on the island, Kiwengwa boasts one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen (less seaweed on the beach). There’s a sandbank just in front of the residence’s beach, where you can walk all the way to the reef at low tide, and turns out beautiful turquoise colours when rising. The water just feels like a warm bath. And being on the east side, you can always rely on the shade of the palm trees when it’s getting real hot. No sunset on the beach, but you can enjoy that on the first floor of ‘La Campannina’ restaurant. I highly recommend their food too. You can even choose for delivery at your appartement, what’s again pretty handy with small kids. We tried to cook as much ourself as possible. You can find everything you need if you go a bit further to the next part of Kiwengwa. Easy with one of the bikes you can use from the residence. We loved our time here and would love to return some day!

I liked my stay here. The owner is very friendly and awesome. During my stay, we were invited to party with him and his wonderful family.The facilities are beautiful and the view is fantastic both day and night. This is the perfect place for a get away.My only complaint would be the hard mattresses. They were a little rough on my back.

Very nice place. The room are large and clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast is amazing. Very nice swimming pool. The beach is about 3 mins walking.The host Salomon was very friendly and helpful and you can book amazing tours at him. I especially recommend the Mnemba tour including the lunch. If you leave a bit early in the morning there are not too many boats yet to spot and swim with the dolfins. The spice tour is quite touristic, so be prepared for that.Only point of improvement would be the internet speed, the wifi is very slow so we needed to use our mobile data. Zantel has very good coverage at the place.

Nice pool, kind staff but extremely loud village. On our last night we were woken up at 3am by someone watching football on full volume, followed by mosque prayers at 5am and road noise 24/7.

Lapili residence is a brand new resort ..We were among the first guests to book and were delighted with our choice.The first impact is wonderful, with the fantastic tropical garden surrounding the large swimming pool.The apartments are in perfect harmony with the style of the place and are well equipped for both short and long stays.Room service and assistance for tours and excursions, always present.The property is located just 200 meters from Kiwengwa beach, where Lapili also offers its own equipped space on the beach.Note that there is a small local village near the property which adds ethnic charm to the holiday.Special thanks to the owners Nicola and Alessandro for making us feel like home - ;)A memorable stay!

Best place to stay if you plan to visit Zanzibar. Nicola and Alessandro are wonderful, kind and helpful hosts. The staff is super friendly and always smiling. We stayed for 4 weeks and it felt like home. The beach which is close to the hotel about 150 meters for my opinion is the best part of Kiwengwa and Lapili has its own private space with sunbeds. Out of the hotel you can find local shops where to buy fruits, vegetables and some basic things. We felt safe and the people are very nice and peaceful.The apartments are new, very clean with equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, a nice porch to have your dinner and a sofa to relax with garden and pool view. We had breakfast included wich was delicious with fresh fruits and pancakes. Very soon they will have service of restaurant on site.Couldnt thank everyone there enough who made our stay so enjoyable. Will definitely be back!

Residence recently open.500 m from one of the most beautiful Beaches of Zanzibar in the village “Cairo”, is accessed from the main road , about 45 minutes from the airportat the ceckin, you were at home. The staff are very careful and polite. The owners always present, careful for every need.the pool ( with water adding an FPS 15 , idea) and the garden is treated as every detail in the apartments, equipped with everything for a convenient vacation.and furnished with simple materials that be creating a beautiful and particular style. The beds are as comfortable as pillows. The apartments have air conditioning and double glass to the windows. The spacious bath and a large shower. ( I missed a hair dryer).the kitchen is very equipped.The terrace that stretches over the pool has a sofa to relax and a beautiful view of towels and sheets are provided by the structure, which also offers a menu (burger & pizzas).they have a simple but equipped , acuagym classes, kick boxing and more ..i strongly recommend that you stay in this residence , where the owners mission is obvious : to ensure that your vacation is comfortable, relaxing, full of details

LaPili is a wonderful and serene community in the heart of Kiwengwa. A number of different apartment layouts are offered for short and long-term stays.  The team is very caring, friendly and responsive. They have massage services and a fitness area which is a huge plus! A restaurant, terrace bar and small shop will be launching soon. The pool is just lovely, and is connected to a slightly elevated jacuzzi. There are a few little shops right outside the residence for essentials like water and sodas.  Its about a 4 minute walk to their private spot on the beach, where there are several options for restaurant dining in either direction. Ive stayed in several different areas and hotels on this island, and LaPili is the rare gem that Ive had the pleasure of calling home.

The suite Apart is just what I was looking for 😃to spend a romantic weekend , wonderful inside with a big private terrace to chill out and even seeing the sunrise 😍rising from the Indian Ocean🤩just perfect.The whole residence is just beautiful,a tropical garden with the swimming pool and even jacuzzi.A friendly and attentive team team too☺️, they made us feel at home.. will definitely come back 🤗🌟♥️

My experience at Lapili Residence was wonderful. The apartment was great, well furnished of every comfort and very close to the beach, it takes 5 minutes by walk. But the residence is also perfect for each would like to reach other beautiful places around, like Stone Town, Nakupenda beach, Nungwi, Paje, Jozani forest. Nicola and Alessandro are nice and kind, they can provide to every host everything they need and make them feel like home. In Lapili there is a tourist office where you can have all the info to discover Zanzibar island, they will book restaurants, driver, shopping ecc...the breakfast is special: it is possible to choose between several dishes. In Lapili I have been the best holiday ever in Zanzibar!

We stayed in Lapili in February, a brand new structure, the Suite apartment, where we were, enjoys a wonderful view of the pool and the ocean, sunbeds on the huge terrace and outdoor shower, we dined on the porch looking at the ocean and the tides follow one another, truly enchanting.

Really wonderful residence fantastic holiday, staff always with a smile in particular the manager alessandro de Lucchi always available for any need (you can ask what you want and it will be fulfilled) ....... 5 star holiday
