BED BUGS !!!! RUN!! I woke up this morning with bed bug bites on my leg and arms.This is a real nightmare for the rest of my journey as it is a real pest.My room was quite badly decorated (very old furnitures , old paint) the bathroom is rudimentaryNote that if you pay in card you will be charged 5% extra which is a total ripe off.

Gives you nice break from the beach. Food is delicious, drinks are on the expensive side, but with so many foreign tourists it is understandable. The staff easily flips between different payment options, Dollar, Euro or local.

The food was terrible, I ordered some seafood and grilled fish but the prawns were clearly not fresh and thats just unacceptable for seafood. The problem wasnt just the taste but the health hazards of eating spoiled seafood. The beach isnt the best (subpar if compared to Paje) but not bad.

The worst place we have ever been in Zanzibar. One of the employee was very rude. It is very expensive and value for the money is very bad! Moreover, you have to pay an extra charge to pay with card. Don’t recommend at all.

Very poor service and value for the money is below expectation. Ordered ‘chicken noodles served with salad and bread’ without serving the bread and salad. Restaurant claimed that 3 slices on top of he noodles are the mixed salad. Only once I got loud they served a tiny salad with 3 slices of dry bread. No apology from the restaurant. Staff doesn’t care and doesn’t even know their own menue. POOR SERVICE AND POOR QUALITY OF FOOD. DO YOURSELF THE FAVOR AND SKIP THIS RESTO.

Very nice place, you get a shade place and beach beds for free if you buy drinks or food. The place is clean and has bathroom.The view of the ocean is spectacular.The are also a lot of beach attractions there like snorkeling, parasailing, jetskies, fishing and more...

Be careful when paying by credit/debit card. I was told that the first payment had not gone through but when I returned home I had paid twice. That was 2 months ago. The last time they contacted me was with an email address for the person working at the bank but 2 different emails they sent were rejected. that was about 10 days ago and Im still waiting for a correct email. I have sent many emails requesting an update but very rarely do they replay. When they have it has been with little intelligence. I have sent the same statements 4 times to various people with no money returned as yet. I have ended up paying $800 more for this holiday than I should have. I have obviously contacted my credit card company but as we are dealing with this part of the world, Im not expecting much. My advice would be to pay a bit more and look at other hotels along the beach. The regular staff at the hotel were very pleasant and helpful but not enough to warrant an extra $800. It goes without saying that I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.

Worst honeymoon experience. I travel around the world every year and I must say I was highly disgusted by the service from the manager at mocco beach villa. I made an online booking via mocco beach villa website for a double room for 4 nights and the reservation was complete for my honeymoon. I get to the accomodation and the receptionist tells me there is a problem as they do not have my double room and only a twin with less facilities than what I booked. So I said thats fine speak to the manager and please arrange what I booked for as we are staying for four nights and I want to be comfortable as it is my wedding vacation after all! The manager casually walks to the passage way and tells my husband and I at 7pm at night that there is nothing he can do as there is confusion on the website and because I made me booking I still have to pay the fee for the double room even though that is not what I am getting because he has a website to pay for. Or he gave us another option of leaving the accomodation at 7pm at night!!! There was no apology for their pathetic service and attitude. Further more this place is so disgusting with grime in the bathroom. And the reception area looks like a joke. I am very disgusted he needs to go back to hotel management school on a lesson on ethics management!!

Good vibe, and helpful and friendly staff. We wanted to drink our pina coladas out of a coconut and one of the waiters tracked down a coconut seller and made it happen. It was an amazing experience

The food arrived fairly quickly but it was average at best. Pasta was tomato sauce had too much spices and flavors. What was great is the pineapple juice which was a actually fresh with pulp.

Walked in at noon for a meal and left greatly satisfied. The restaurant serves fresh Swahili food - I tried octopus in coconut sauce and it was splendid!! I complemented with a fresh juice and coffee and all was great! The entrance is a little hidden but if you find it, you’ll be in for a laid-back Zanzibar treat.

The hotel is located directly on kendwa beach with its own sun loungers (there are no beach vendors available for these sunbeds). The hotel was clean, the air conditioning worked smoothly. Near the hotel small shops - groceries and the like. The staff was very nice and met our every requirement. Breakfast was delicious - large portions of fruit, pancakes, eggs in several ways. Rested at Mocco Beach Villa from 12.11 to 23.11.21Ideal location, on the shores of one of the best white sand beaches on the island.We lived on the 4th floor - the rooms are spacious, bright, clean, with new fixtures. Ocean view. Nuance: the shower and the bathroom are not separated from the room by a door. If not a couple lives, there may be inconveniences. I don’t know how on other floors.Cleaning every day. To do this, you need to leave the keys at the reception. There were no thefts. I ate at the beach restaurant and sat on the sun lounger. Nice and quiet location. The food is not too tasty or better than elsewhere. Prices are in dollars.

Really not crazy, I went there this summer and I still remember it. There were Belgian ksos who put sound on their trql speakers. In addition, the flag of France was missing.

The chef was very very rude when we went to complain he yelled at us saying he was all alone! So, but is it our fault ?! The hotel as a whole is very modest, breakfasts too! Rooms are cleaned if you leave your keys at the reception. There were mosquito nets over the bed, but in principle no flies, mosquitoes or other animals were observed. There is a hairdryer, air conditioning, kettle, refrigerator in the room, everything works. Internet is free in the restaurant and a little bit on the beach.BUT, HERE IS SO GORGEOUS BEACH THAT ALL WRITTEN ABOVE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT IMPORTANT!Because Kendwa Beach is the best in Zanzibar, the ebb and flow is easy here. Therefore, you can already put 5+ for this!

We waited almost an hour to eat an embarrassing sandwich (two slices of loaf with chicken leftovers and almost rotten salad inside), accompanied by an old and degassed beer (probably due to freezing and subsequent thawing).I do not recommend, at least for the lunch service (we have not tried the beach services)

The restaurant is ok, but the staff are weird. First, we were seated at the table and took the order. And then an Italian woman came, who allegedly had booked a table. And we were asked to leave.

Good beach cafe. The kitchen is not bad. Prices are high. The portions are not large. There are sunbeds, umbrellas and access to the beach. There are always a lot of people, but the staff copes.

Typical and honest place. For me it is priceless to be able to eat with your feet on the sand. I recommend it for a lunch, reminding everyone that here, when you order and when you eat, at least an hour passes .... this is also Zanzibar!

Arrived on 21/12/2019 at about 12.00 and escaped the same evening at about 22.00.We were greeted in a small external entrance that served as a reception and we had to face the first problem for the payment of the balance as we asked for more than what was expected in the reservation.Accompanied to our room, after crossing an external path in rough concrete, not very well maintained, we arrived and, opening the garage-style door, a structure without services and furniture appeared to our eyes. A bed, a small table and an open cabinet with three hangers. The small fridge, placed on a shelf, did not work, the air conditioner did not turn on, there was no chair, the very small bathroom with a tolerance window without a frame and dim lighting throughout the room.Informed the staff, actually kind and helpful, he offered us a change of the same room with the chair in addition. I went down to the beach, at the bar-restaurant, after multiple requests for clarification and complaints, we were left in the dark and without wifi for several hours, according to them due to the bad weather of the previous evening even if the rooms next to it were lit.After a few hours spent in candlelight, we took our bags and ran away with high legs.
