The best original Italian pizza and cuisine. Great now the restaurant is on top of the hill built on platform wooden terrace with an amazing picturesque crimson sunset view over the horizon beyond the Tumbatu and Mwana wa Mwana islands.

Excellent food, welcoming staff and a lot cheaper than the ones attached to hotels. Really chilled vibe (go upstairs!), relaxing music and delicious drinks.Really good staff and the manager is very customer focussed. They happily serve big groups too, without it impacting the smaller tables. Best place I ate in Kendwa :)!

The mixed seafood grill is from a different universe. You’d front 300 dollars for the same quality and quantity of food in NY you get here for 25 bucks

If you are near Kendwa and you feel for pizza go to this place. Italian owner with reputation for the best pizza around. Cons - could be little pricy from the other places.

Fantastic Place

We rested for 11 days and had lunch and dinner at this restaurant almost every day. Great grilled fish! Excellent staff and cook. Everything was always delicious, but if you are in a hurry to order food in advance, as the Zanzibari people are slow.

Very nice terrace in the restaurant with a great view of the sea. Unfortunately, there were very few dishes to choose from and the friendly waitress hardly understood any English. The manager and the cook sat nearby and did not stir an ear. Later another friendly employee came and asked us if we wanted something else. But then we left because it would certainly have taken a long time for everything to be prepared..

Outdoor restaurant with beautiful ocean views. The menu is mainly pizza and pasta, the owners are from Italy, as I understand it. Everything is delicious, the products are of high quality, the portions are large. Pepperoni pizza is my favourite.

Stayed at this hotel, loved it! And the restaurant is great too. We ordered seafood: a salad with seafood, octopuses in coconut milk, grilled fish - very tasty, it seemed to us the tastiest here in Kendwa and the portions are huge. Everything is fine in the hotel too - clean, tidy, friendly staff, the only bed seemed not very comfortable, but it will work for a short time.

Excellent restaurant that combines Italian tradition with Zanzibari specialties. If you miss, like us, a good pasta dish, La Fontana is the right place! Excellent pizza and lobster ... super! Personally I have not found it expensive ... then it depends what you choose. On average we spent 40,000 to 60,000 shillings (equal to 15/22 euros) in two !!! Initially I wanted to give 5 stars. Were three times - took pizza and juices. The first two times the hostess was very friendly and attentive. The pizza was perfect, delicious, just super! We came for the third time, ordered the same, and received two burnt dry pizzas, even the look and, most importantly, the taste is completely different. As if the normal ingredients ran out and made from what was left. Very disappointed. Very sorry. The cafe itself is pleasant. There is internet.

Great food and wide selection on the menu, the best restaurant we have tried here in the area. The staff is very nice and attentive and provides great service. The prices are also not to be despised.
