Karibu inn is located at forodhani, stone town, a 10 minutes walk from the center Behind the national Bank of commerce.It offers bed and breakfast and its one of the cheapest in the area at about 35,000 tzs a night or 13 dollars a night...Situated in a nice corner, amazing staffs...You might not get a very high quality service but be sure to feel at home.And normally you shouldnt expect too much for paying so little. Nice place though I stayed 2nights and be sure to drop your mosquito nets before 6 or else youll have the mosquitoes to answer to..You can still have the best experience, it all doesnt depend on mosquitoes I didnt get a bite when I followed the instructions on the first day but the second I was out till about 8pm so I got 2 bites 😅😅

Very clean I had a reservation but the rooms were “full”. Giving it 4 stars due to location on the island and friendly staff I met with.

We needed somewhere to sleep, because our booked accomodation was canceled at the day of our arrival and in Stone town was some kind of international music festival and no free rooms at all (we went through cca 10 hotels). We found this one, we payed 45 dollars a night. Room was big, lots of young people around (they have also dorm style rooms). We had ensuited bathroom, AC also, but it wasnt working except of noise. Mosquito nets was smaller then beds, so they were touching you even when you were just lying. One of our prepared beds was horrible, you feel every move and also sprungs in your back. It wasnt so horrible as it could sound, Im trying to write all not ok things, for you to know. If I need to stay in Stone town, I rather look for another place. But if this is last option, it is ok.

They charge you extra 9$ per person per night for no reason. Also after this extra price its no more worth staying there.

Good breakfast. Friendly service. Strategic place, a walking distance from the ferry. Near the sea so one can go swimming in the sea at any time.

Value for money if you dont mind the basics. Location cant be better, Shangani Street, Stone Town. Buy drinking water bottles from reception. Tsh1000.00 for 1.5l bottle (2013) Friendly staff!

Excellent hotel in the heart of the city. Suitable for a stopover for a couple of nights or before a night flight. There is air conditioning, a hundred is not unimportant. Although it is an old window, it worked perfectly, the main thing is to figure out how it works.An old but clean hotel, in an old building, which adds color to it. There is Wi-Fi throughout.Breakfast is included but we didnt get it.

For the price, a good place. The location is great, close to freddy and other attractions.Everything is simple in the room, we did not have air conditioning, it was very hot during the day. Great hotel in the center of the old town with great service and prices. I was pleasantly surprised to have spontaneously settled here. For Africa, it’s probably normal, but it’s not ice, the staff is friendly, breakfast toast, scrambled eggs, tea, juice, a couple of slices of watermelon and pineapple, the price for room 33 per day is $ 40. There is no hot water. There is no parking. Separately paid for parking 300 rubles per day. Nearby is freddy mercurys house. Nearby shops prices are prohibitive.

A good option, for your money, for undemanding tourists. 1-2 nights maximum. The rooms are fairly spartan conditions. Located close to attractions and the pier, with ferries to the mainland, which was a priority.

The room for two had three (!) Beds, one of which is double, so four of us can settle) Breakfast is standard as everywhere else, internet standards, convenient location, center, and the beach is close. Only with the price tag is a lure - $ 22 is declared, and there is another $ 18 of taxes and fees sticking. Total $ 40.

Good hotel for 2 days maximum.The rooms are spacious, but the canopies are very small. There are nets on the windows, but there are plenty of ants. Air conditioning is old, but it works + fans. The windows overlook the yard-dump.Bathroom for C grade. Hot water is barely warm, but it doesn’t bother much.There are signs all over the hotel that you can’t leave valuables in the room and that scares.Breakfast terrible, the waiter does not understand English and does not know what a ketchup (without scrambled eggs is impossible), the coffee from the bag is disgusting. Waking up for breakfast makes no sense.The excellent location of the hotel (near ATMs, Mercurys house in 5 steps and the embankment) raises my rating from 2 to solid 3.

Purely, although in Africa it is a relative concept. Conditions ok, WiFi works, service does its job. The advantage is the location right in the center of Stone Town and not a high price though one should remember about the $ 9 tax
