Authentic local Tea aka Chai in Swahili served on the street. There are no tables and chairs, you have to sit like a local on the steps of the shops. The tea has unique flavours with lemon grass, ginger and other items he wont tell!Usually served with sugar or honeywhich makes it too sweet. I prefer without sugar, so if you want without make sure you tell him otherwise be prepared with a load of sugar in your tea!So serves eggs and some snacks but Ive only had the tea!

Babu Chai is famous in Stone Town. It is little local street stall that serves the best ginger masala tea in town. Babu Chai means Grandfather of Tea. He also can serve you up a basic omelette, chapati and naan bread. Locals go there for tea and chats in the evening.

Great cozy street kitchen. We visited it twice in the late evening and got a nice cup of tea and snacks before heading back to the hotel.
