I passed by this place so many times while walking around Stone Town and made a mental note to return, and Im so glad I did.Definitely try the quesadillas, octopus in coconut curry, and their famous date cake in caramel sauce. Just do it.Also, the staff work very fast, very efficiently, and overall so friendly. The host was also attentive and kind.Highly recommend!

We really recommend the restaurant considering our single time eating here. Fast service (but it was not full restaurant), delicious food-all of them ( we was inspired from an early review: octopus with curry+ coconut with rice; chicken quesadilla- here we choose the chips but vegetables could be a better personal choice; cake with caramel sauce), the prices were not that high 40.000 TZS, but it worth for the good taste.

One of the few mid-range eating gems in Stone Town. Slightly overpriced as you would expect everywhere on Zanzibar, but the food is home cooked and very healthy. It takes forever though, but thats also a Zanzibari treat so be prepared. Seriously lovely staff in a nice cosmopolitan atmosphere. Recommended.

Nice place near the Freddy Mercury museum. The food was food and so were the fruit juices. But the best part of it was the staff, we stopped here just for a juice and at the time saw that our mobile data package had expired, asked the waiter what could we do, she spoke to the manager, he explained us what to do and sent the waiter to a nearby shop to get us a data voucher, then they assisted us with activating it.The menu has too many international food, for a place with food as good as Zanzibar, but unfortunately thats what most tourists want, so not their fault, but they still have zanzibari food and its delicious.

A wonderful place to be. Excellent food, service and rooms. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. The owner himself is sometimes seen at the hotel and he is always smiling and mingling with the guests. He is a very nice person and extremely humble. At first sight, you will not even believe he is the owner. He even helps his staff to clear tables when they are busy. I am really looking forward to going back there. Their sticky date cake is a must try.

I think this place needs more ‘average’ rather than glowing reviews. I had an avocado salad that, no matter how much I tried to revive the flavors with salt, was completely tasteless, along with the garlic bread. Very nice staff but mediocre food with a substantial price tag for what it was. I’m sure others have had a better experience, depending on what they’ve ordered.

Our favourite place for a relaxed stop or for dinner. The staff are very friendly and the outside eating is great. A varied and interesting menu and very well priced.

Stone Town Cafe is well situated along a heavily trafficked stretch of the Old Town. There is great people watching to be had whilst enjoying your spiced coffee or breakfast/brunch bites.I ordered the fruit salad with muesli & yogurt, dressed half avocado, and a coke. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly without being overbearing. As I sat writing out postcards and letters, I took time to appreciate my environment and the interesting characters around me. My bill came to 19,000 shillings ($8.17).Id been told by a friend of a friend to check this place out, and they absolutely were not wrong.

Beautiful cafe with traditional stone town decorations & ambiance with reasonable prices for terrific food and drink!Believe the hype about the spiced coffee - Im an enormous coffee fan and this was definitely one of my favourite cups of coffee Ive ever had. Definitely has cardamom, but also has a phenomenal selection of other assorted spices that give it a tremendous unique taste. I suggest having it black as the sugar and milk dilute its tasteful mastery. If youre really hungry, the Big Breakfast is a great option for a good price. You can have the big breakfast and the coffee for less than $10 (at the time of writing), which is outstanding for fancy-ish Stone Town breakfast restaurants.Service was pleasant and surprisingly quick given how long food has taken to come out in other restaurants in Zanzibar.

At the end of November, for two nights, room 2 upstairs at Stone Town Café B&B was our base for exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Site Stone Town. This place and its lovely lush shady palm-filled garden café/restaurant is somewhat of a meeting point in the historical centre, and for a good reason. Staff are super friendly and helpful and the location is bang in the middle of all the main sights of the old town, it is next to the famous Freddie Mercurys House and a stone throw away from the Old Fort/Ngome Kongwe, the iconic House of Wonders/Beit-al-Ajaib. The maze that is Stone Town is literally just around the corner.Stone Town Café is on top a great place for both watching people, soaking up the atmosphere of the old town and for drinks and food, try their famous Spiced Chai or Spiced Coffee! The B&B is very conveniently located above the restaurant, walking up a lovely wooden staircase to the second floor. Our room was big, bright and with a spectacular balcony facing the café garden in front and a bit of a town view. The big bed with drapes of mosquito net was the obvious centrepiece of the spacious room. It also had a very convenient desk for all our gear and a fridge for the water and other drinks. Thanks to the air-conditioner the evening humidity never entered the room. The bathroom was also quite big with a cool mosaic arched entrance to the big shower. The breakfast was served in the garden café. We had great strong coffee, amazingly tasting sliced banana pancakes and spicy avocado toast! We also ate dinner in the restaurant our first night. Everything was freshly made and tasted lovely, especially the grilled tuna! The NGO Creative Education Foundation Zanzibar and Steiner School that provides free education for girls, orphans and children from disadvantaged backgrounds are connected to this place. When you sign up for tours they donate a % to the foundation, an amazing initiative.Thank you so much for everything staff and management, we had a great stay with you!

Quiet place and a good place to relax after a long day of tiring activity. Price is not low, but not extremely expensive. However, service is not the best, they rush you to leave , and even if your plate is still half full, they come and ask you if you are done . The owner or waitresses roam around you and make pressure . It is quite annoying . So yeah, place is good but service is not professional.

Why not stop by at this friendly place, offering snacks in a very central yet pleasantly relaxed atmosphere? I had the worst experience at Zanzibar coffee house. I ordered a coffee to go. The cup top wasn’t put well so all the hot coffee spilled on my right hand. The worst part is that I had no assistance from people working there. They didn’t even refund us for the coffee we didn’t take.Nightmare.
