I chose this hotel because it had a strict dress code for evening dinner... what a joke. ! People turn up for dinner in swimming shorts and beach shoes and children run around unsupervised. If you want to have a relaxing stay avoid this hotel.

One of the best Resorts to stay in Zanzibar, despite its size Neptune Pwani Beach Resort is an excellent choice for package holidays, food is fresh and a with a wide variety. Theres entertainment and shows every night. Lovely spacious air conditioned rooms, with different room options to suit every need!

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to feel the local atmosphere. Various and delicious local food , a beautiful beach and a garden on the territory of the hotel. Amazing hotel, full of beautiful trees and flowers. Right on the long beach, with white sand. Staff is very nice, fast service, everybody kind and smiling. Besides buffet restaurant, there are a la carte restaurants, included in price, with fantastic food. Rooms are large and well equipped, clean. We enjoyed in cocktails, evening program and interaction with people. There is a shop in hotel, with affordable prices. Also, just near the hotel, on the right side of beach, there are plenty of souvenir shops where you can also get a good massage. Locals on the beach will try to sell you many things, but when you start talking with them, you will find out that they are very interesting, many of us made friendships at the end. They can walk with you into ocean in certain part of the day and show you starfishes, Nemo fish, algae plantations and many other interesting things. I would really loke to come again!

Zanzibar is filled with amazing places to stay, but if you get a chance to spend a day or two in this resort, you wont regret it. Lovely staff and amazing food.

If you are in Zanzibar and you think of a great place just come to Neptune its amazing, good customer service, caring staff members, mother nature is born here at Neptune. The food is all that makes a starved man finish all the portion in the kitchen so delicious.

Mediocre hotel, not a 5 star!This hotel lacks all the fine touches that is standard in a true 5 star hotel.The room: Spacious and little dark, but had mold and strong wood smell, for people that have allergies it becomes a big problem. Bathrooms have mold on tiles and grout.Common areas: All indoor areas are a little dark, it just doesn’t have enough natural lighting coming in, which is unfortunate since you are on the beach; the yellowish walls and dark trims and dark furniture also doesn’t help. Bathrooms had no paper towel or towels to dry hands. Big beautiful pools.Restaurants and bars: Service is good. If you choose all-inclusive the liquor is of poor quality and so is wine, it is mainly catered to the beer drinker. The only good thing at breakfast was the omelette, everything else was tasteless. Food here is very mediocre at the main restaurants, much better at the ethnic restaurants if you can get a reservation.Overall we do not recommend this hotel, specially if you are looking for a 5 star experience, there are so many options in Zanzibar, so save yourself the disappointment and skip this one.

Definitely I don’t recommend this hotel.On the third day of our stay we were robbed. A thief got into our room, stole money, passports and all our electronic and electrical equipment. He or she emptied even our safebox. The room wasn’t plundered, the thief knew exactly where the things were. The door, windows and even the safebox didn’t bear the traces of intrusion. The above and our private investigation indicate that at least one of the hotel workers was involved. All incured losses exeed significantly the cost of a two-week holiday in this hotel. At the same time one more room was robbed. However the losses were much smaller as the thief was probably frightened by one of the hotel guests.The incident was immediately reported to the management of the hotel. Unfortunately we were left alone with our problem. In spite of an apparent fault from the hotel side we couldn’t count on any help or support from their side for three days. They even tried to hold us responsible for the theft by making up stories which often reached the point of absurdity. Presently we are accused of overstating our loss. Only after that time and under threat that we would inform the media about situation we were given about 45% of our loss back. However even here they tried to cover up the incident. The payment depended on our signing a document, which said that our things hadn’t been stolen but gone missing. I signed it as it was better to get 45% back than nothing. When we needed help, support or a good word or just empathy we met with reluctance, lies, arrogance and even aggression from the management of the hotel. Our room was changed into another one after our holiday rep’s intervention, as they were very surprised that we didn’t feel safe in a room to which the thief had keys. Both the hotel and the police were so commited to proving our guilt or lies that they didn’t catch the thief although he was given to them on a silver platter. For almost 24 hours after the theft I was able to track my equipment and I informed them about it many times. Instead of looking for a thief they preferred to search our room- there they were looking for stolen passports. However the best part happened just after coming back home. The manager of the hotel sent me a message in which among other things he claimed that the hotel security recorded my conversations with my wife. I don’t know if it’s the truth but if it is, I’d rather not think in what way, in what places and in what situations we were eavesdropped on. I’ll leave it to your imagination if all the hotel rooms are bugged or only chosen ones. In EU such a gambit would end tragically for them, in Africa as you may presume – free-for-all. After all even here to treat an aggrieved person as if s/he was a criminal by the company responsible for his/her safety is too much to take.If it is not enough now I’m going to write about the hotel itself. Some of the rooms smell of damp and you need to air them all the time. Food was very poor and repeated all the time. Lunchboxes were a joke- a chicken sandwich with bones, a dry muffin, a banana and small juice. A mediocre beach with about 50 beach boys so importunate that you would miss Egiptian sellers 15 years ago. Most of evening animations were good but way too loud. The service was nice, drinks ok, snacks were something like dry donuts which you can buy in a supermarket, massages of an avarage standard.Generally, I am person who tries not to remmeber what was wrong. Normally I would be glad to be safe and sound at home. We can recover from our losses and bounce back and maybe even laugh at our misfortunate adventure in the course of time. Nevertheless I have to admit that the case of eavesdropping on us while being alone, recording our conversation, our private matters or even intimate moments made my blood run cold. I’m not sure what to think of it or what to do with it. I warn you not to stay at this hotel.

We stayed at Neptune for 4 nights , the resort itself has potential but their biggest issue is the quality of the food and drinks, which is horrible and has no taste.They use cheap alchool for the cocktails and lots ot sweet syrups, no fruits.The food has no taste and i think they have problems with hygiene because we all had problems with our stomach .If you want to catch something to eat, you have to come when the restaurant opens, because later they will tell you no more nutella, its run out ,or no more maracuja ,it happened to me to wait more than 30 min for them to bring nutella and nobody replaced it even if i told them,same for the poolbar,there were days when they had maracuja for the cocktails, and days when not.This is not acceptable for a 5 stars resort as they are advertised ( in fact they are not more than 3 stars ) .And a very annoying fact, we always had to ask for toothpick, napkins, salt or peper,never find them on the table.Ok, an employee will help you and bring them to you, but as i said ,its unacceptable for a five stars resort,you have to find them on the table.The bed linen was never changed in this 5 days ,same with the towels.Also, the rooms have cockroaches, i will leave a picture here to show you and the air conditioner is very old and noisy.They gave us the farthest room in the area, but that was not a problem, we are young and we can walk and climb all that stairs, but near our builduing they were doing some constructions and the scenary was not the best (i will upload pictures to see that, also).Rules for covid only in theory, the staff is wearing their mask under the nose, and the clients wear their mask only if they want,nobody to tell you to wear it when is necessary(in restaurants, for example)Also, the glasses are dirty, they are not cleaning them as it should.And the service is veeeery slow.No seefruits (this is also curious for an exotic destionation and especially for Zanzibar where you can find and eat seefruits everywhere) .They have seefruits only if you pay.But that was not a problem, we daily eat lobsters at the nearby waikiki restaurant (30$ for a big plate with lobsters) .We tried their a la carte restaurants, italian and thai, there we had beautiful ,nice meals.The beautiful part at this resort are the beautiful well kept gardens, the amazing beach and nice pools.There are always free sunbeds in the shade of the palmtrees.The ocean is amazing and i do recommend you to discover the reef with the beachboys when the water goes back ,you will see starfish, see urchins ,see cucumber and many others.(we paid 30 $ for a ride with the beachboys)We split our vacation between 2 resorts : Neptune Pwani on the East side and Riu Palace in the North side where we had a fabulous ,awesome experience, you can t even compare these 2 resorts.As i gave a very good review for Riu Palace(where i stayed in the second part of my vacation),i could offer a similar one to Neptune,too ,if everything would have been ok.The purpose of my review was not for negative advertising ,the review was for their benefit ,to improve their standards.I also need to mention that i have travelled all over the world and never wrote a bad review, in fact this is my first negative review for a hotel i ve stayed in .So, in my opinion,the resort is nice, has potential,but they are too expensive for the quality they offer.I am aware that my review will have a strong impact on them and may affect them , but they need to improve their quality and services to be a top hotel .My review was honest and sincere ,was just my experience in their hotel and i wrote it with the intentions of helping the others and not to be fooled by their 5 stars as i did.If you have money,go in North to Riu Palace ,Zuri or Gold.Ifyou want East side go for Tui Blue Bahari or Kiwengwa Beach Resort or Melia.

My Wife and I really enjoyed the hotel. Staff and food were great. The food was varied which we prefer especially for fish lovers. The Indian restaurant should be highlighted. Basically we were very satisfied with everything and would recommend it without reservation but one thing destroyed the beautiful experience. We did not book a package tour but traveled there ourselves. We took a taxi at the airport and paid $ 25 for it, which is definitely more than normal, but the driver was super friendly and we found it to be perfectly fine. Above all because people already earn little. Now the outrageous comes from the hotel. When we checked out of the hotel we asked to be booked for a taxi. Then we were told we had to pay the taxi at the hotel cash desk, which I had never seen before and then they actually wanted $ 100 for it, which made me so angry because we were obviously Ripped off. So we had no other choice than that because we don’t want to miss our flight we already have been late. So we accepted the payment. In the end I asked the driver what he would get for the trip from the hotel to the Airport he told me $ 15 and the hotel earned $ 85 just to get us a taxi. In no country in the world we have experienced anything like that, you order a taxi for your guest and everything else is clarified by the guest and the taxi driver. This experience at the end made me so angry that it destroyed my entire stay. It is not about money, but that you have used and ripped off our situation

Staff is very friendly, nice resort

Beautiful gardens, a lot of sunbeds (I was here while covid still existed so there were a lot less people than usual) and staff is very friendly. The food choices are a bit scarce sometimes (usualy for launch) if you’re a bit more picky with your food and that could be improved. Haven’t drank alchool but they have a big selection of cocktails. Simple drinks (whiskey, vodka, etc.) are not that great because they use very cheap alchool. On the other side they have local beers and thoes are quite good from what I tasted(Kilimanjaro is the best in my opinion).

One of our favorite hotel with its services, food, pools, the wonderful panorama and the extreme kind staff. We have been there two times, but I think were going to go there also in the future.

All staff are great and very carefully taking care of their customers. The location is great with a fantastic lagoon. Local resellers on the beach are quite boring and harassing. Excursions are expensive. Rooms are quite big and clean. Food and restaurant are excellent.

We were a little bit afraid of the resort, as we read some of the reviews but were surprised by the quality of the service and by the location of the resort at the end. The gardens are huge and well-kept. The staff is wonderful – the kindest Ive ever experienced. Quality of food is like in the seventh heaven. Some meals are a little bit spicy but thats the only con I found on it. Room service is wonderful. They came every afternoon to put down the curtains against mosquitos. The place is quite but on the beach, the local people may be disturbing, as they want to sell you everything – from a massage to a parero. Every time, theres an ebb, you can go to a small peninsula formed by sand and watch the sea life. Definitely the best vacation in my life!

The hotel is about 1 hour from Zanzibar Airport. Opened in 2007, in a good traditional Zanzibar style and decorated by local designers, this modern resort offers an idyllic setting for a great holiday. Very cozy and spacious, set in a beautiful tropical garden of 35 hectares. Once arrived at the hotel, we arrived at a true 5 * resort. The complex, all lined with the beach, has all amenities. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. The cleaning service is effective and even at the end of the day they come to open the beds and spread mosquito repellent. The cleanliness of the entire resort, as well as the maintenance of all spaces, is impeccable. Throughout the day, there are multiple restaurants and bars, including 4 themed dining restaurants, under reservation (Italian, Indian, Vietnamese, and romantic on the beach) with the beach not being all inclusive. However, dining on the beach for true romantics is a real treat, well worth its value, both for its recreated ambience and the generosity of the food, including fresh lobster. In all restaurants the food is good, varied and with excellent presentation. The beach is quiet, absolutely safe. In the water line are the Masais boys, but besides being insistent, they are friendly and harmless. The sea water is great. At low tide, it is possible to walk a few hundred meters to the reefs and snorkel, but almost always in the company of the boys. The entertainment is discreet during the day, but every night in the main restaurant area there is nightlife. Finally, a very special word to the whole team, leaded by Mr. Alok Prabhakar: smile, friendliness and availability are a constant. They are pleased to please us and these people make all the difference. To sum up, excellent !!!

My family had a delightful island adventure on this paradise island. The resort is beautiful, with chalets dotted amongst towering palms, flamboyant trees and frangipanis, with views over the beach and seascape. Each morning you can spot staff members picking flowers to adorn water features with ever-changing designs, and on arrival your beautifully carved bed is bedecked with red hibiscus blooms. Mosquito nets protect each bed, and add a further note of romance to the experience. The buffets are endless in their bounty and variety of delicious food, and you are kept comfortable at all times by friendly staff. The swimming pools are extensive and crystal clear, and the beach loungers are arranged under huge-leafed Indian Almond trees and spiral palms, so that you can sip coconut juice striaght from freshly-opened coconuts in comfort as you survey the dreamy beachfront. The sea is amazingly warm, and you can also be taken out to the reef in a dhow to swim further out in the clear, clear sea. An unforgettable experience.

Loved this beautiful resort in Zanzibar and the surroundings. White sandy beach area is simply amazing. We took a boat trip outside the resort to see the dolphins and a little bit of snorkeling, however, can’t remember if it was a third party or the hotel authority that organized. But the Masai dance was inside the compound that’s for sure.

Not only is the Neptune Pwani Beach resort truly a piece of paradise, we also had an amazing wedding there with the unconditionally support of the Resort-Staff. The standard-rooms and also the master-suites are amazing, very comfortable and spacious. Towels and the minibar are refreshed on a daily basis and the people (staff) in the resort ar very polite without exception. Mr. Balwant, the resort manager, is very helpfull in all kind of requirements. Our wedding was very well organzied and decorated and also the dinner wars simply perfect. They did not let my driver to drop me at the reception, instead they wanted him to leave me at the gate and i should walk long distance to reception for checkin just because i did not use their taxis which are over price, i did cancelled my booking and i dont recommend this hotel. They are so many 5stars hotel nearby with great hospitality.

A beautiful welcoming resort, with a large beach whith white sand and protected by reef, full of colorful fish, where you can take walks on foot, accompanied by masai, when the water withdraws a lot during the full moon.

If you will stayed at this hotel and booked a tour online then they will want you to walk till outside the Hotel gate to be picked up. They dont want you to book anything with other companies except companies that they work together which are really expensive aWith limited food and inclutions, you wont enjoy like other online companies. This Hotel should be avoided, if you are looking for a 5 star hotel in Kiwengwa better option is Blue bay, they wont mind if you book anything with other companies, and they got great hospifality

Very nice and comfortable place

Hotel is very nice and customer service is on very high level. Location close to the ocean. Because of the water moving there is a chance to see oceans life: starfish, nemo, crabs, octopuses etc. Masai takes tourist for the trip.Cause it is windy every afternoon there is a chance to use kite surfing.I really enjoyed the food. If you want something different and special so you can go and eat Indian, Thai and Italian.My vacations were just FUNtastic

Very nice hotel. Service, food, rooms, everything is very nice. There is only one negative point. There are many strangers on the beach trying to sale a trip or cigarettes... thats very irritating.

I loved the place. Friendly atmosphere and the staff is really great.Just to workout more on house keeping cause sometimes rooms were not perfectly clean.

All inclusive. Some four, five different restaurants, two pools, bars all over the place and spacious rooms can nothing but sum up to a fiver. The beach is fabulous and ALL the staff likewise. Though, the WiFi is a bit sketchy...
