The resort has a relaxed beach vibe with chalet style rooms. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and aircon works. The only problem is the rather isolated location without public transport options and few local dining opportunities. This means you are largely dependent on the hotel for meals and they exploit this fact shamelessly. The food is mediocre and overpriced.

Mchanga Beach Resort is simply the best getaway destination. The amazing scenery complimented by the most accommodating staff that are always smiling and willing to go the extra mile! I went there for my 14 day stay over and the staff help with absolutely everything. They organize transfers, covid tests and excursions. I will definitely be back again for a more tourist type of holiday!

The hotel was beautiful, right in a long stretch of beach. Rama at reception was really helpful and friendly and helped me to organize covid testing and transport. The food was simple but tasty and not too expensive. This is the place to relax and chill for a few days!

A stay that far exceeded my expectations. From a gracious welcome, by Khatibu and his team, assistance with booking excursions, to individualized meal preferences, thank you chef Issa . Attentive service from all of the hospitality staff. Nothing was too much trouble. They even expedited my covid-19 testing. Was in and out of the testing center within 5 minutes. I will definitely be back. Mchanga Beach hotel was a beauty to behold and memories to cherish , theres so much that remains untold of this hidden gem, the beautiful heartwarming beach was amazing , lots of sun beds and service available on the beach , the swimming pool was big enough and so easy to order a cocktail as you enjoy ocean view laying on the sunbeds around the pool area, Real paradise!

Lovely hotel located right on the beach! The rooms were really spacious with big, extremely comfy beds! The food at the restaurant is pretty good with both meat and vegetarian options for lunch and dinner. However, the breakfast options could do with a bit of revamping to provide more of a selection. Its a great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the other beaches though! Grab a beer at the bar and relax by the pool or near the beach. Be aware of the beach boys though stay right at the edge of the property and aren’t afraid to continuously try and sell you products while you are sitting there!

This is simply a hidden gem.I arranged an airport transfer through the hotel and was greeted, after exiting the tunnel at Zanzibar airport, by Ali. He is very knowledgeable and drives safely through the buzzing traffic. It may seem strange driving through Mchanga Village but dont worry... Behind the gates, welcomed by Masai men, lies a stay full of relaxation.Upon arrival, your luggage is whisked to the reception where you are greeted with a smile.Off to the room, luggage whisked away again, and off with the shoes :) Then the relaxation began. Visiting the bar or restaurant, Sam is always ready to assist with a broad smile! As in always! Super friendly, playful with children, Sam is truly a hospitable gentleman.Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner; Sam, Rafiki and even the chef come to say hi and ensure you are comfortable. We were privileged to meet the owner, Shauna (apologies if misspelled) who has exciting things in store for this newly reopened resort.Covid tests prior to departure were also booked through the hotel which was followed by a spice tour. Another excellent example of how friendly the people in Zanzibar are; the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of spices and we were treated to fresh fruit and a selection of teas before returning to the hotel.Every day, houskeeping cleans the room and prepares it for your day of relaxation - making sure to clear the sand which comes from your feet so you are never worried about that.Having been to Zanzibar before, we never thought we would be back but the pandemic made it possible to do so safely. Now, we will be delighted to return and stay at Mchanga Beach Resort, where we met the most wonderful staff and made new friends with fellow geusts who enjoyed the experience.Thank you and we cannot wait to return

The staff were excellent. Mario the manager is 10 stars. The place is amazing. You leave your shoes as you get there, that is so amazing. You walk out your room and it’s sand and I have been to Zanzibar 3 times and this place is the best. Hire a scooter and ride up and down, stop for a swim and maybe a meal at a place you stop at. Take a cooler box. The rooms have a fridge well our one did. You can consume alcohol in your room. I stand to correction but beer and other is fine but wine no. So take a cooler back pack and explore. The restaurant and bar is sand❤️ This is our No.1 in Zanzibar❤️

We spent a wonderful week in Mchanga. Marco and his wife are excellent hosts and very actively helped us with the several challenges we had with flight, luggage and next hotel. The bungalows are very simple, but beautiful and clean (and we didnt miss anything). The hotel and beach are a wonderful quiet paradise. The perfect place to relax after a stressful year! The food was excellent and all employees super nice. We definitely recommend this place and will try to come back!

This is a perfect place for everyone looking for a calm, relaxing, chilled-out time in the sand. Everything is near to perfect there: lovely, comfortable huts, white sand, palm trees, pool, private beach, great food and drinks. In the background, Marco and his colleagues are making sure that guest enjoy their time.

Very charming hotel, quiet along a magnificent white sand beach that stretches as far as the eye can see. The rooms with sea view are great, feet in the sand with a breathtaking view of these palm trees as soon as you wake up. For previous comments regarding Marco, the management changed a few months ago and absolutely nothing to say about the staff except that they are all lovely and helpful. Little extra for the bedding, we slept like babies.

Mchanga Zanzibar has a fantastic location, it is not very big and accommodates few guests. Its configuration respects the general view of an almost endless kilometer beach. The rooms are very good. Refrigerator air conditioning, etc. A central plaza with a pool and bar connected to the beach

The hotel really corresponds to 2 stars.Whoever has all inclusive, be ready to eat what they bring you if you are not satisfied with the menu for an additional fee. If the boarding house is not all inclusive, pay for your lunches and dinners and choose what to eat. There is no opportunity to swim in the morning, as the tide is 400 - 500 meters. Only after lunch. There is a lot of algae in the water. The pool is small.White magic sand and crystal clear air. Internet works poorly.Fruit can be bought next to the beach on the left.Who is ready for such conditions (instead of white linen, they can cover it with brown - yellow). Toilet in the room. from the outside, only one (it is not pleasant to enter)Welcome to this paradise 🙂After all, it is individual for everyone 🤍💙

A little paradise where you can unwindThe structure is camouflaged in the green of the garden of palms, hibiscus, flowering plants and leafy trees. The comfortable large and fresh bungalows from which you can see the seaThe super beach is that during low tide you can enjoy for long walksExcellent restaurant. We have always dined there and often with the tables set on the beachVery kind staff not to mention the manager Marco and his wife Terry who are present with discretion and their suggestionsI highly recommend it for a relaxing holiday even if you are buffered by the beach boys and the Masai however very kind.Fortunately, no animation

Horrible.I paid a rate for two people and once there, the famous Marco claims double the price already paid on the pretext that the tourist tax was only paid for one person. We just would have had to pay the extra tax on arrival just like I did with previous reservations. 2 hours of negotiation for nothing, supposedly manager doesnt like anyone else except the Italians. Cold manipulator liar and thief. So if you have a discount with booking, you will be the worst in his eyes.Go your way clearly on this hotel. I recommend the Coral Reef Resort which is much cheaper and great both in terms of staff and hotel. Ask for michaela when you arrive.
