Please stay away from this hotel. The personnel steals from you the day before you leave the hotel. This way the management has no time to check the incident and they will (never) contact you with the investigation, they say that they will make. We also informed the travel agency we used for this booking and the hotel wrote to them, that there was no complain made by us about any stealing. I often travel, but this kind of low level attitude I never saw in my life.
This place is BOUTIQUE HOTEL!We stay a total of 14 days and in general we did enjoy our stay. I have reads all the reviews and most of them is true because we did experience most of them. The only thing we cant accept is that we stay 14 day I we could have a decent place to shower nicely because we dont pay for late check out but after shower and before going to toilet to change I went to the cashier office next to reception and express my self that we are very happy from the last 13 days of stayed only the day of departure because we find out the many empty rooms and they cant give place to shower. But finally after getting angry and loud atlest we get a room to change and get dressed properly.
What an experience. The admin staff was so welcoming and we did not struggle in any way when we checked in. The problem was during lunch time, the man who supervises the waiter and waitress was very mean to us black people and he would make sure that we are being watched like dogs diring the dining 😭it was disappointing the whole time as if we did not pay like our white counterparts.
Simply- the worst place ever stayed!The complex doesnt look bad from the outside, but appearances are deceptive.First of all, you get a wristband for all inclusive and a kind of clock made of silicone for your room, which in most cases is too big and not waterproof!And then you have to carry the safe key with you at all times.Thats how it starts...The rooms are very small and very old.Air conditioning yes, but it does not work properly in all rooms.There are holes in the mosquito nets.The bed was shaking all night.And the mattresses were sagging.So we all woke up after a night with back pain.This is not a holiday!The treatment of the staff leaves a lot to be desired, sometimes unfriendly.The wine is abominable, after one sip we all left our glasses.This is a high-class hotel so I assume that the food is at least edible.The soup was good, I dont want to comment on the rest because it makes me sick to think about it.Dont be fooled by the photos and the fake review.We checked out early after a night of long discussions.The price is not.We had 3 rooms and all were equally disastrous.Bad service, bad food, bad rooms.
Beautiful resort friendly staff ,Restaurant,house keeping and reception I will give them 10/10 very professional. Security they need to work on their attitude 🙄. They mistreat walkings African ladies,they think its like we cant afford.Food 8/10 we enjoyed it especially dinner at beach with entertainment. We had booked 2 rooms but one of the room had issues. Water was leaking from AC and pile in the room.We enjoyed our stay over their.We had massage very relaxing at affordable rate.
When we see hotel view it was really good. Next day they said when will you pay hotel payment. But I gave my booking reservation allready there is writing I paid. Safe boxes 20-25 years old and not working exactly. Don’t take anything important with you. They say soft drinks are free but just in room Coca Cola and Fanta and one big bottle water. And in restaurant. There are everything you should pay on beach or next to pool, where you spend all your time in holiday :) we want mineral water for room because we don’t drink Coca Cola and Fanta but 1 day we get other days just drunk water in room. ) . employees are friendly but bosses are really not. They behave employees also like a dog. It’s not finished :) we paid taxes to booking.com but they also wanted again. I showed them that taxes I paid them allready and gone from hotel finally but they still sending me e mails they still want that 14 dollars! 2029 dollars for hotel and 14 dollars for taxes. So never mind that hotel!!!
Staff are amazing! Pools well kept and best beach access. Food could be improved. But overall a great stay.
We recently stayed at the My Blue Hotel in Nungwi and were so impressed by the wonderful staff and attention to detail they put into our trip! Highly recommend staying at this hotel for an unforgettable experience, topped with pristine beaches and tons of things to do!

I was a guest the My Blue in Zanzibar fir 15 days. The staff was very caring and friendly. The restaurant staff was quite attentive. I would surely visit this hotel again.The rooms are lovely with really the beautiful views whether the seaview or garden view.Total rest and telaxation and luxury come to My Blue

That is not a 4* hotel unfortunately, a 3* is more relevant. The beach is very good despite so many annoying people trying to sell you something (to be fair this relates to all beaches with public access) - pretty clean, little amount of stones and corals, the tides are not that significant compared to other beaches, good sun bathing area. The personnel is quite friendly but not many speak decent English. The food in the restaurant is average - exactly for a 3* hotel: the variety is ok, but the quality needs improvement (undercooked or rarely overcooked, seafood for instance), the dishes are chipped, almost all and need replacement. Rooms also seem pretty worn but would be ok if not those unacceptably short beds - when you cant fit the bed in length its a disaster for trying to sleep. And finally the internet (perhaps the biggest disappointment), it is practically absent: nominally it exists but you get lucky if you manage to connect and double lucky if the speed is sufficient to send/receive anything. Anyway, a good advice - go to the nearest village and get a sim card with local provider for internet (Zantel worked fine), dont even try with hotel wifi, its a disaster!Last but not least - shortages with water and electricity (not a huge problem because the interruptions dont normally last longer than few minutes but still its annoying when you take a shower for instance and then light turns off and correspondingly water because the pumps are down).
Cute and cozy property, beautiful small Beach, friendly staff, low quality and unappetizing food, pools are murky, absolutely no COVID precautions, poor and unreliable internet, generally dirty. Three-star at best.
It is a very nice place..I really enjoyed my stay there...Caring staff, delicious food, clean rooms, etc. I really loved the dinner by the sea shore entertained by traditional dancers.However, when I booked full board, I thought juice in inclusive on meals only to find out that fresh juice has to be paid seperately.All in all, I will always long to go back to My Blue Hotel.
The food was the major horror. They seem to serve yesterdays food. The fruit was tired looking, not fresh at all. Not much choice. I was thinking been coastal they would have sea food. The fish was off. The place is well constructed. Beautiful by all means. But the food left precious little to be desired. Staff are so friendly though. Young vibrant but the food...You get the idea.

Im not happy here. So regret not booking elsewhere. Miss Paje beach. Food is like cafeteria at a home for the elderly. Booze is incredibly bad quality and watered down. Only one restaurant, only one little beach littered with annoying merchants. 4 days down my room phone hasnt been fixed. I regret every day here. Zero romance or ambiance. Maybe Im too experienced a traveller for this place. Might be great to honeymoon couples from third world countries. Please reconsider before booking. Sunsets and friendly locals alone dont make a location.

My family and I stayed here for 3 nights( 6th to 9th Dec.2019). The staff are very welcoming. Abdallah Said one of the waiters was always at our service and made sure our meals were enjoyable. The house keeping was fabulous. The excursion trips especially the Fumba one was super. Although the Friday beach dinner was fabulous, there is still room to improve on a variety of meals served during the rest of the days. We look forward to visiting the place some day in future.
Great location and beautiful hotel and rooms. Staff were super friendly. However the local massai pester you whenever you try to relax in the beach. The all inclusive package seems like a good deal, but the drinks and food are of low quality and seem cheap. We were very disappointed at the lack of fresh fruit. Even the juices used in the cocktails were artificial flavoring. None of the cocktails were good, so we ended up only drinking the beer. The cutlery were usually still slightly dirty and all glasses were of plastic, which just added to the cheap feel. The dining area played music, but the CD was on repeat, starting over about every 10 minutes.

Service was not very nice, food the same. You book all inclusive and get only Instant coffee. If you wish a proper one, you have to pay. Super loud music in the eve from the pool. Beach is crowded and not to recommend for sun bathing. What I can recommend is the sunset from there. This is stunning. But not more. Money not worth it.
Loved the beach location, and having an all inclusive package meant we enjoyed cold cocktails throughout the day, and the red house wine was drinkable too. We thought the food variety and quality was good, but other guests who had stayed there before, were not as complimentary. Hotel rooms are clean and adequate, and we always had hot running water for showering. Some staff were friendly and professional, others not so much. Overall a good guest experience, but if we do travel to Zanzibar again, we will stay somewhere else.
Highly recommended location, worm service and atmosphere
The websit does not do justice as to how beautiful the resort really is! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The food is really great! The rooms are really clean and neat... pillow and matresses a little hard... but not uncomfortable! The grounds are really beautiful and kept well. Extremely safe!Unfortunately there is no ATM at the resort, but they do accept Credit Cards. Would really recommend this resort!
My Blue HotelA hotel that is finding its feet but well worth the visit. The most spectacular beach front I have ever seen, swimming pools and Food made a Italian chef. The all inclusive is well worth it. Abbas the Food and beverage manager is 7 stars, the passion and dedication he has to please guests is outstanding. The reception needs work the staff try there best but need more training. The rooms are clean and recently renovated, a mini bar with coldrinks is stocked daily. A suite bedroom has a large king bed and a single bed, there is plenty space but no baths. The all inclusive wine is good from capetown. A must try. Like all properties with time your aircon or fridge might not work, but the staff sort it out. Also the sunset cruise or scuba with Mido is a must. Great experience The sea is amazing all staff try there very best, a rustic hotel but a true gem
Just came back from a week at MyBlue Hotel, and would not recommend it. Although the staff was friendly and cocktails lekker, most of the items needed for it was out of stock So we had to settle with what they had left. Food not great, and everything felt dirty. The cutlery wasnt cleaned, and what ever previous people didnt use, was left on table for next people to use. Pasta station is a very good idea, but again using the same pan for meat and no-meat dishes are not good, and running out of cheese on day 3, not impressed. Beautiful beach, but got bugged by the locals ALL THE TIME!!!! Overall is could be a stunning place, but not yet.
Great value for money. Went for a more affordable option and this comes in at a good trade off, plus points - friendly staff, awesome pool and beach area, room is serviced daily, WiFi works well and aricon is room is a life saver. Down side - food is good but not fine dining and maintenance can be better. All inclusive option is a must.
This hotel is simply amazing
Location was good, but aditute to solve any problems was bad. Rooms were not cleaned when we arrived. Toilet was leaking to the floor all the time, and they didnt fix that. Cant recommend this hotel. Strongly advise to pick up some other nice hotel in the area.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Nice beach, except at a low tide the sea is full of rocks and sea urchins, which no one told and soon we saw why. I stepped on urchin with one leg and as I was dragging myself out of the sea, I stepped on another with second leg. Staff showed me local doctor in the resort. He helped me to put out most of a thorns. I gave him 10000 TZS, as a gratitude and he asked for another 10000 :) As he was attending me, another two Italians came and add we were leaving the place, they dragged another girl from the sea. So excellent business for locals and destroyed vacation for visitors :/
Staff try really hard and are very friendly, people are poor in Zanzibar so hope the hotel pays well. Rooms have everything you need and we were treated like Kings. Beautiful spot on the beach and was great to enjoy meals next to the sea. Buffet food ranged from excellent to meh. Recommended place to stay in the popular part of the island
Staff very friendly from reception to the beach. Management could be a bit more friendly, welcoming and a little hands on to help with loose ends. We found they were very selective and totally ignorant and uncooperative to our needs. However staff to be commended were Hamida and Rahima at the reception, Immanuel, Yusuf and Raheema too.
Stunning hotel. Excellent staff! Rooms could be a little more personal and light, but overall a good experience at My Blue. Friday night dinner on the beach was a highlight.
The hotel is defined not a 4 star hotel! Poor management and not clean. (we were out of hot water for two days, air conditioning not functioning in our room at all, did not change our towels and sheets). The bathroom floor so slippery my 3 years old son found himself at the clinic next door with a 4 stitch injury. The staff was clueless, spoke no English. Really a terrible experience.
I stayed here for a week. Great location up North. Away from the hussle. Clean and grounds + gardens are well kept. Staff are friendly, helpfull. Rooms are well situated through the resort although finishing touches need some improvement especially the bathroom & change of curtains. The entrance road can also be improved by a solid cement foundation to avoid dust as it kicks up into the dining area and main entrance hall. The facility has 2 swimming pools, but need up keep and a new coat of paint & fixing chips at the bottom by the steps. Your swimming trunks turn green after 1 swim so cleanliness is forgotton. As for the beach area, i would recommend to trim the trees/ shrubs down to view the sea from the beach chair area. Dont remove them, just tidy some parts up. I would also recommend having your breakfast area in the front at the beach as that is unused space & have a lunch and snack menu for guests to chose from @ both pool and beach bar apart from the buffet (gets boring after 3 days). Also there is no frequent waiters coming around. I would recommend it, good value for money and a hidden gem between major resorts in the area.
This is a review of the MyBlue hotel, which is a great hotel, and a little about Zanzibar island too.Positives:Best beach. No seaweed nor seaweed stink.Excellent for snorkeling, once you get passed the sea urchins there is a huge variety of sea life to view.Decent food even for vegetarians. They think eggs are a vegetable - hopefully this review will educate the chefs. BTW for a spice island im surprised their food is not spicy. But thats okay - I think the largely European clientele prefer non-spicy. Youll only taste spice on the spice tour.Spacious rooms.Excellent Safari Blue, and Spice Tours. Stone Town was average if you are looking for an exciting experience, not just boring shopping for souvenirs.Amazing sea shells.Beach dinners are amazing.No crime experienced at all.Negatives:The same music CD is repeated all day every day at the beach bar and dining areas. The music is good, until you hear it repeated over and over again...No silence at beach chair area due to repeated music. That area is where you want to just relax and hear the natural sounds - but all you hear is repeated songs all day long.The maasai beach boys (on the beach itself) will pester you all day every day until you ignore them, and then they will call you unfriendly. They appear friendly at first, but all they want is for you to buy something - from souvenirs to tours, and illegal drugs too. The government really needs to regulate these young men, who arrive during the tourist high-season only, and just serve as an all-day irritation for tourists.You cant take the beautiful shells home - it is illegal without an export permit.They refuse to accept US dollars that are dated before 2013.The local currency is so weak, you need US dollars as a tourist.It is a 1.5 hour drive from airport to hotel - on a pothole-ridden road.No ATM at most hotels in the island.Massage at spa was average. The masseuse smelled of sweat because the local women wear synthetic fabric clothes from head to toe in this hot humid place - go figure.Stone Town fish market and butchery will make you vegan for life

Just on the Nungwi beach, this superb boutique hotel is not only spacious, but it offers great view of one of the best and most happening beaches of Tanzania. Seafood here is great! We even spotted a seagull dish on the menu.
I came here on a splurge weekend out of Stone Town and had a great time relaxing. They have a beautiful bar/pool area, a great beach, nice rooms, and relatively good food. I also had a good massage at the spa and was able to buy a bathing suit at the store. I think if I had been there any longer than a single day, I would have looked for food elsewhere, for variety. I was super impressed with the people who worked there: I lost 20,000 shillings by the bar, and just assumed that I would never see it again. Not only was the money returned to me, someone actually tracked me down to the beach to ask if it was mine!
Location is good. Great beach. But the Villa was not cleaned, first cleaning in the second day from arrival. Smel of mold in the Villa. Cant recommend.
The hotel manager was so rude and we would never go back to that place. I am absolutely disgusted with the service and the manager attitude. Probably the worst place to be in Zanzibar. Avoid like fire!

PLEASE! PLEASE !!!NEVER BOOK AT MY BLUE HOTELWe stayed at My Blue Hotel during October 2018.Upon departure from the hotel we were stopped at a police roadblock( this requested by the hotel) and arrested for a Hotel bill of $14!!!!!! Which was PAID!!The receptionist refused to accept our proof of payment and was adamant that we are to be arrested?Why do the Hotel have no verifiable, sound administrative systems?The receptionist was very aggressive, arrogant and seemingly incompetent. Shocking to say the least.As frequent visitors to a lot of countries in Africa, and as children of Africa with a deep love for this continent, this was the worst experience we ever had. We pray that it will never happen to us again!It will take us a long time to put this behind us and come to terms with it? We were and still are severely traumitised.It was a horrendous experience that left us anxious, stressed and downright miserable.All we will ever remember of what should have been a wonderful holiday - is this horrendous incident.So PLEASE , never make use of or book at MY BLUE HOTEL, Nungwi, ZanzibarMarius and Nita Nel

Nice place kind stuff happy to help you I stay on a mini switch with take for rooms the rooms are nice but a little bit smelly from oyster after few hours you can be used to it if you dont care about it breakfast is just fine no more overall the food here is not so wow
In Zanzibar, you probably spend most of your time at the Hotel as the island is basically configured as all rural but surrounded by these fancy hotels all along the coastline. My experience of Zanzibar is rather conflicting based on this as it breaks your heart to see the oppressed or systemized poverty of its people. I say this because for example a local Zanzibar born hotelier at any hotel will earn like 80 - 100 $ a month, however is controlled or managed by an European and and I can assure that he doesnt earn a bad as that nor wont he acknowledge non Europeans as much as he will to his European visitors, you will feel this. I really do feel that Zanzibar has been taken advantage of by foreigners and have socioeconomically keep its locals impoverished. What makes Zanzibar are its never give up, friendly, amazing people!! The employees work very hard for measly wages and you can see that they arent tipped by foreigners. I will admit that the Masai beach boys are an absolute pain and I think they should be placed elsewhere so you can at least enjoy your time on the spectacular beaches. Spice tour was cool and so was the snorkeling options - please tip your guide, they really try their best. You need to have $ in hand for Zanzibar as cashless systems are pretty non existent. Beach BBQ is amazing!! Make sure that you only book tours via the Hotel. Suntours let me down many times, dont bother with them as they are unreliable. They hotel room wasnt fully protected from mosquitoes, as they come through the grates of the ventilated windows. The hot water lasts for 2mins then goes cold lol! I dont expect much, but thanks for the free drinks everyday and your meals are amazing!! I sincerely pray that the people of Zanzibar will rise in wealth for themselves and evolve in infrastructure, have access to affordable tertiary education and equal and fair opportunity. Thank you for everything Zanzibar as a South African I appreciate you, Jumbo!!
Not what you get told to expect. Me and my wife, and several other guests got stomach bugs at the same time, and then got told that it is the water. Not impressed with this resort and will certainly NOT recommend it to anyone. Especially not for your honeymoon!
Well...for using restaurant, they asked me USD10 upto 20 as entrance fee per person. They said that this is also for swimming pool use. But other Hotels dont ask any entrance fee. I went Hotel Verdi, Bluebay resort, Melia, Hilton, Essque Zalu, etc. Protea Hotel, they receive 25000TZS at the entrance but this includes food and swimming pool.
