It was amazing everything was perfect the hotel is clean AND THE STUFF THERE SO KIND AND FRIENDLY SPECIALLY THE OWNER OF THE HOTEL MR. Calvin he was always there to help in anything you want even if its not related to the hotel.The hotel it’s on the beach 5 min by walk.Highly recommend after the second visit for Zanzibar it was the best hotel out of 5 hotel I tried.

Nice Hotel with beautiful Lobby.Rooms are modern and nice. Bathroom very nice and modern.Unfortunatly one of the Girls from Front desk spoken pretty Bad english so it was hard to communicate with her.Laundry Service ist Not recommend at this Hotel. Also they only serve breakfast nur No Lunch or Dinner.

The worst hotel experience we have ever had.Below is the reference for our stay at Zanzibar Star Resort 16/02/2020-21/02/2020.On the positive side: The location of the hotel is good, the room is spacious.On the negative side, there are way too many problems with this hotel.We arrived in the hotel at 15:00 on 16/02/2020.Despite check in time 11:00, our room was not ready and the receptionist asked us to wait half an hour until it will get cleaned. We waited and waited and waited and the receptionist kept saying “soon be ready”. Three hours late at 18:00, the room was still not ready. After insisting, we were accompanied to our room, only to find out that our room had many items missing in the room, some items were not installed and our room was still not ready to be used.The following items were missing in our room: night tables, night table lamps, rubbish bin, door rug, balcony chair & table, lamp & bulbs, bed mosquito net, safe, mini-fridge, hairdryer, soap, shampoo, shower towels.The rooms was not clean, bath water tube was half connected- half hanging out of the wall.Bath tube missed a spare part and the water was flowing out from the gap where the spare part was supposed to be.TV was not set up, Aircon was not working, remote control from Aircon was missing.At the first night we discovered some additional problems.The electricity (including aircon, water pump, etc) were being switched off by management at around midnight, the room got extremely hot and one could not flash the toilet or wash hands after using it.Aircon installed on the second day (when it worked) was continuously leaking.Garden view of the room – has a view on left behind construction rubbish.The bath towels -when brought to our room- were brought in wrong numbers (less than number of people in the room).The supervisor Calvin promised to fix problems in our room by the noon of the next day and after some insistence on our part he promised to reimburse one night from our 5 night stay. We agreed that we will accept that (because it is hard to find any other place in the last minute).The supervisor failed to keep his promise. Half of the items were not fixed /not installed in our room even by the end of our 5 night stay.The Supervisor Calvin did not want to return the money he promised and he was also not interested in sorting out half of the missing & uninstalled items in our room. The supervisor Calvin was disappearing each time he saw us approaching the reception area avoiding our attempt to sort out the room situation.Only after the fight, chasing the supervisor Calving from Morning to Evening and returning to reception three times (as Calvin was missing), he returned the promised money.One more thing regarding this hotel.Unsanitary condition in this hotel could easily result in getting sick in this hotel.Restaurant /reception area has a toilet but it does not have a sink to wash hands.Nobody bothers to provide toilet paper in that toilet.Breakfast has very slow service and very limited choice. Eggs have chicken poop all over the eggs and the cook does not bother to wash eggs before making omelette or fried egg.Also, the road from Hotel to the beach is not paved and you get covered in sand and dust with each passing car.Very poor service.

Very nice place and location but the rooms are not good, not even similar as on the photos, and very poor service on the part of the manager. The rooms was not clean, specially baths and there is nothing in the room only bed and tv.We booked 3 bungalows, and when we arrived they told us there is a mistake in the system and they can provide only 2 rooms, and they add 1 bed which was the only possible solution. We agreed that we will accept that (because we could not find any other place in the last minute) and 3rd room will be free last two days and they will return the money for the first 3 nights. During our stay they did not try to make up for the mistake and the last they the manager tried to steal us, he did not want to return the money and the after fight he returned but not all, we need to try to fix that with booking because that guy is idiot. He will try to overcome you for every possible thing to take money.Our stay on Zanzibar was very nice and people are pleasant except this guy.

This place is like the other reviews say. It is a total SCAM. Rooms are not as they advertised. Food never available, no security at all, over priced, unkept bathrooms, no decent toilet for guest that just arrive, rooms were never cleaned and mold. The day we visited we happened to run into the owner and his kids which apparently get special treatment to overtake the pool from paying customers. The owner a Mr. Khalifa explained that guests can enjoy the pool however, it is a tiny pool and there is no stair exit on the deep end. I pointed this out to the owner, however, he gave ridiculous reasons why that was. They try to come off as nice people but they are just after your money and dont care about anything else. The staff maybe is not to blame for the poor management and leadership from the top down. I WOULD STRONGLY recommend that you do not book with TABASAM Tours or stay at this pitiful dorm that they are passing off as resort. Please feel free to put on all social media so that no one else gets taken advantage of like us. We spent a lot of money and it is not worth the money at all.

We rested at the hotel from 29.12 to 05.01, I can say one thing, you need to go for 10 days.Completely happy with the hotel, large room, clean, cleaned daily.Of course there are a lot of animals, but do not forget where we are).A very important nuance in the toilet is the door 😍.Good full breakfast, nice staff who are always helpful.There are two swimming pools on the territory, very clean, the hotel staff is constantly cleaning.It is not far to the ocean, within walking distance there are all the shops, souvenirs, cafes, restaurants, bars.I was completely satisfied with the rest.

Looking for chic glitter and luxury? Then you are definitely not in Tanzania, and not in Africa. If you eat after the sun, warm and beautiful ocean, delicious fruits, African flavor, then you are welcome. The hotel is decent, there is electricity, water, refrigerator, toilet, air conditioning and a bed with a mosquito net .. what else do you need? Walk 6-7 minutes to the ocean. Very friendly staff, they will help, tell, show. It is better to change money in the exchange office in the center of the village, and not at the reception (here the rate is slightly less favorable). On the way to the ocean there are shops with water, souvenirs, fruits. There are no ATMs! But not in this hotel, but in general in the village of Nungwi, they are not, so take cash.

I had a very good holiday at this hotel. Indeed there is some hot water or internet connection problem, but you have to understand that we are in Africa so it remains normal and common to all hotels. In any case, manager Calvin has always done his best for us. The staff are also very nice. The meals are good and plentiful. The rooms are as shown in the photos. Also, there are two swimming pools in the hotel. And especially the magnificent beach is 3min ... in short I recommend 👍🏻

The hotel is very good for the region. But I want to warn those who think that this is like Turkey - All inclusive. No, some dishes and privileges are still paid here, but it’s enough without them. The menu (which changes every week) is attached to the photos. The territory is nice and clean, there are two poolsThey feed well. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were greeted with two glasses of pineapple juice. Then at the reception they looked at the passports of who We were and showed that they had to pay for the infrastructure (it cost $ 14, because two people for a week, no one warned us about this). Then they offered to have dinner (tomorrow, lunch and dinner can be ordered at any time, but you can only choose twice a day). They also ask: Are you in your room or will you eat with us?. But in their own language, since the STAFF IS ENGLISH. Google translators were installed on the phones, which greatly facilitated communication. It rained twice, the roof began to leak in the room, not much, but unpleasant. In the afternoon, water for the shower is brought in. Upon arrival, warm water was only two days. Not a good hotel, settled in room 3, the toilet was dripping from the ceiling, asked to change the room, they said no vacant places, wait. On the fourth day with a scandal, they changed their number. In the mornings, there is regularly no water, neither wash nor go to the toilet. Wi-fi ate pulls and does not reach the number. First, they settled in a detached house, where it was terribly dark, stuffy and half of the switches did not work. The next day we asked us to relocate, gave us a room in the building, it is better. Rest from 20 to 30 November. I really liked the hotel, the staff is friendly, the owner of the hotel is Kevin, and he solves all issues very quickly. At breakfast they help if you need something. The breakfasts themselves are not bad, you can order an omelet with vegetables, or just scrambled eggs, pancakes, there are pastries, 3 types of fruits, peeled mango every day, sausages, macaroons, mushrooms, stewed vegetables, toasts, chocolate paste, porridge, coffee, tea, jam ... The Internet is good, but I didn’t pull it for a couple of days, I needed it for work, there was enough for telephones. Sometimes there was no water in the morning, but not for long. On the territory there are 2 swimming pools, clean, lighting in the evening, sun beds with mattresses, umbrellas, towels are provided. The sun is very tough, saves 50 defense and a rashguard. We were arranging a dinner with a performance by Masaev (very loud). In general, the people are very sociable, they are interested in learning new things.

First time in Zanzibar, there is nothing to compare with. By European standards, horror, I guess. According to local - norms. Air conditioning, spacious rooms, swimming pools, good staff are a plus. If you are not claustrophobic and if you are a couple, the hotel is for you otherwise go your way.The room is too small to accommodate a family.Located on the roadside and relatively far from Jambiani beach.Unfortunately, we cannot vote in favor of this hotel.Dont be fooled by the photos, this is misleading. There is almost no light in the rooms, there are two small windows and enclosed by mosquito screens. The hotel sold us a room with an extra bed for our family of 4 but unfortunately the reality of things is very different.

The hotel is not big, cozy, there is a pool, but it worked for 5 days, and then it began to blossom and it was worth a week, it does not work. The rooms have air conditioning, TV, free safe. The hotel is expanding, a new building is being built, construction is underway, it doesn’t really bother, but when they did the roof, they pounded the whole day. The staff is very good, always ready to help, give something, cut and clean. 3-5 minutes walk to the sea, but the road is not particularly good. Breakfast from 8 to 10 hours. Prepare pancakes, scrambled eggs, eat fruit, fresh juice, muffins, tea, coffee, water. There is wi-fi, catches well. On the whole island there are interruptions in the light, shut off for two hours. In general, nothing like this hotel, if the pool worked.

We booked two rooms for the hotel for 12 nights! They could not provide us with a room upon arrival. This fact was communicated to us after 2 hours of waiting, but at the same time there was no solution yet! Late in the afternoon we got 1 room in another hotel with 1 bed.The accommodation was in unrated condition and quality! At that time, we still believed in Calvin, the manager. I should not have!!!He promised we would get our 2 separate rooms the next day. The next day at 11am the hotel was told to leave the room because they were also full house and this option was only discussed until 10am. This was The Nungwi Inn Hotel, about 200 meters away.There the manager lady was kind to us, only her hands were tied because there was a full house there as well. Then Calvin (the manager) showed up with great difficulty, (we kept writing to him on whatsapp, otherwise he refused to communicate) we were transferred to another hotel. Here again we got 1 room for two of us and a promise to get 2 separate rooms there the next day! By then our 2nd day was ruined as we got this common room at 14:00! Here we could finally sleep on a separate bed. We have already booked this as a success!On the 3rd day at 13:00 we really got 2 separate rooms which were also in unqualified condition !!! The bathroom has the character of a prison left here from the 80s, a window air conditioner is installed as an air conditioner, which has definitely not been cleaned out in the last 10 years! The window just darkening everyone sees the window concept is an exaggeration because approx. 60 * 80 cm! The double bed meant 2 couches for me (very uncomfortable).There is 1 socket in the room into which the refrigerator was plugged. There was 1 more in the bathroom. Ants, termites and other beetles kept coming out of the switches! The equipment is under criticism! But the point is now coming! Here on this day, Friday, I paid $ 1980, by credit card, for the price of the two rooms for 10 days (thats all we have left for our vacation). It was Friday ... This was offered to us as a final solution, given that all the hotels in the area were booked for our dates.We were also looking for (obviously) a solution, Booking, Trivago, Hotels.com, etc ... but unfortunately we also saw this. At home, more than two months before our arrival, we booked, and 6 weeks before our arrival, we indicated separately that we were arriving a little earlier (around 11 a.m. instead of 1 p.m.) and they even wrote back that they were fine, waiting. After all, it is incomprehensible why we could not occupy our rooms?We were happy then, even in poor conditions, but the holiday could begin! At least thats what we thought ... but NO.At 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, an employee asks me when he will check out, by which time I told him then on March 1st. He told me to go to the reception then because we have to go today! We were specifically exposed! We had no idea why ...?Luckily we became a local friend who came and helped with everything. I dont even dare think what would have happened if he hadnt been treated? He works for the first hotel we stayed in all over the island, I can only recommend that hotel to everyone.After 3 hours of fighting, we got back $ 1488 - from 1980, which I dont think was calculated well, but I had to accept it because I rebooked our tickets during the day and our plane left for Hungary, Hungary, around 11pm.I never thought in my life that I would interrupt a vacation! I feel humiliated because that’s not the way to treat people! I really hope everyone gets their worthy punishment for this inhumane behavior and circumstances! This hotel is called AMAAN BEACH bungallowsIts equipment has already been mentioned which I would add to the staff is completely unsuitable for dealing with people! The staff rummage through their bags and steal money!The first time they stole 20,000, they thought that I would not notice it. there was a decent amount in local currency in the envelope.
