I give it 4* cos every floor has its wifi & faster connection even though it has salt water supply but they provide you with kilimanjaro water for drinking, also they have family rooms which has two rooms one for your children if you have family

Its good for the price in TZS. Wifi works sometimes. Not in a good location. Industrial and street market area of town. The restaurant has decent food. You can wake up in the middle of the night starving, and get something to eat from the night staff. It is solid for the price.

Good location. Improve services. Internet down. Called 5 times with promises to repair but nothing. AC not cooling, safe OOO, no hot water, no towel in bathroom. Woken up at 9am being asked for bedsheets despite check out time being 11am. Went for breakfast, no milk!!! Definitely a let down.

Its in a very busy area and also its very confusing to get there. Every street looked the same to me. I was totally lost until someone had to come and get me. Buh with uber its easy and safe too. Rooms are really amazing for the price yo pay. Food is good. The restaurant is really good. Just the stairway aint good they small. And also the rooms are confusing lol. I was lost inside the hotel to find my own room hahahah.. Silly me

It’s a good place. The Personal is very polite and the breakfast is very good. Is central and near the airport. Pay attention if they offer to you a taxi to go to the airport, it will cost 40 $ and for me is quite expensive, even in Italy.

Checking in was quick as Id made a reservation b4 hand. Had buffet lunch in the restaurant on 2nd floor and it was OK. Room I took 304 was a basic single at TZS55,000 B&B and had all basic amenities including a clean white towel. Recommend this hotel for the budget conscious.

I loved this place, they have got great staff. And the food was so good. I loved the rooms due to their cleanliness. I felt very safe packing my car indoors

A good place if you want to stay in Dar es salaam on a budget. The breakfast is amazing. The double rooms though, dont have sufficient air condition.

When we arrived Dar es Salaam, very late in the night and having not any single idea where we will spend our night. A local transporter drives through to Cate hotel, we could not agree any longer that we had found our home away from Home. One thing I will never Forget is we were even offered Breakfast yet we had not spent a night there, it was free for us.

I like Catehotel. Its In the heart of the populous Kariakoo area, next to the Market, yet its a modern hotel with clean rooms, working AC and wifi. The lower floors up to the 4th may be noisy. 5-8 floors are better. Breakfast buffet offer varies but acceptable. Overall price related to quality deserves 4 stars

Got to say, surprisingly the hotel is top notch and well staffed. Only flaw to come to eye was the reception staff which seemed rather lazy and rude. Part from that,almost a 5 star for a not so big hotel. The small ones always surprise you 😂

Nc hotel

As a global traveler, I have experienced bed bugs a few times, but never as bad as I have seen them at the Cate Hotel in Dar es Salaam. I woke up at 5 am, itching to find that I had been bitten badly. Turning on the light and examining the mattresses in the room led me to find 6 live bed bugs (see photos) as well as signs that the mattresses were crawling with freshly hatched nymphs. I have bites on both shoulders, my back, toes, fingers, both legs and even my ear. As bad as this is, I believe that the way the hotel handled it to be worse. I went downstairs to speak to the assistant manager, Adam Ramadheni, privately in his office. I explained the situation and that I did not want to stay a second night and believed that both nights payments should be returned to me. When I came back to get my money and prepare to depart, the receptionist, Betty Mwakajege, would only give me half of my money but offered no apology or refund. I spoke to Adam again who said they could not give me a refund as the accounts of the previous nights had been closed. I encouraged him to call the manager, Emanuel, and explained that I was not asking for money for the medicine I would need (I am allergic to bed bug bites) or the laundry that I would have to do given the infestation, but I felt it fair to receive a full refund. He promised to call but in a discussion with the receptionist, who was very agitated and speaking inappropriately about returning my money, he ended up saying that the best he could do was offer me another room. We checked out that room (a suite on the 8th floor) and it had signs of infestation as well. We went to my room on the 3rd floor, and I showed him the bed bugs I caught and saved in a glass. In looking at the mattress, he caught one as well and my roommate found one crawling on the inside of her pants. I told him I was going to check out and encouraged him to have my money ready downstairs. Instead, he brought the marketing manager, George Umbaro, to tell me that all they would offer was a second nights lodging in the other infested room, explaining that travelers occasionally brought in the bugs. I explained that as a biologist, I know that it takes 1-2 weeks for eggs to hatch and that all stages of its life cycle were present. This was not a case of a traveler dropping a few but a serious infestation. I gave them my contact information as they both said only the manager, who they could not reach, could refund my money. I received no email or contact from them. I believe that Adam acted as well as he could but the reaction by the receptionist was one of the most unprofessional I have experienced. She likely believed I could not understand her Swahili. I strongly encourage customers to look elsewhere for lodging and avoid this place at all costs.

The welcome is good, food is fresh and served on time, staff service is great and atmosphere is just serene. Good place to stay though surrounded by noisy streets

Rooms are clean though a bit dark. Staff are helpful but a bit noisy at times. Its not to far from the city Centre so traffic into and out can be tiring.

Room 210 was great, clean. Big Bad, Big bathroom. I negociate the room at 75000tzs. Quiet cheap. A lot of places around if you want to enjoy nightlife.
